Brought my upstate New York friend here to try boba for the first time (her, not me). Like every other Bay Area Taiwanese girl, I recognize drinking boba as both an art form and a lifelong sport. Even though I am not personally a boba pearl fan myself (I usually don't add toppings to my tea unless it's actual fruit or basil seeds), I appreciate the high-quality ingredients here, especially as the boba is made from konjac jelly and comes in a variety of flavors. I enjoyed my pineapple green tea with basil seeds (25% sweet, less ice) and my friend loved her caramel brown sugar milk tea with pearls. Having her start with Mr.Sun Tea means I'm trying to set her standards high.
It's usually empty on weekdays unless there are K-pop cup sleeve events on the weekends. My first order was the Green Tea with Non-alcoholic Heneiken Beer and crystal boba, which was a bit carbonated and lacked much beer taste. I also tried their Grape Boba and Mr. Sun Egg Pancake (Classic flavor) during Fremont Restaurant Week in March. The pancake design was cute, soft like an egg puff, and came out warm from the bag. The grape boba is made out of real grapes and is sweet at 50%. Their handmade boba was chewy like mini mochi, yet firm and easy to bite. They offer an oat milk substitute for an extra $1. I enjoyed the service, and the manager was kind to let me know to stir it before drinking. If you spent over $12 before tax, you get to play the pinball game in front of the register to redeem a discount for your next purchase.
Pleasant experience with kind cashier who greeted us and actually offered recommendations when we stared at the menu too long :) I got a a peach jasmine green tea with peach boba! very refreshing drink and waited 4-5 minutes after waiting for 1 family. very quiet inside, no music, so it felt awkward to converse. They also have a cute mini claw machine inside!
Mr Sun Tea at this location had taro flavored boba which I had not seen at any of the other locations. Today, they offered black sesame. I appreciate that they make their own boba and that they try out new flavors for limited time. Spacious place, very relaxed and chill. The service was nice and friendly. Unisex restroom. Parking is not too bad. The drinks are done well with their homemade boba.
Surprised to see this location here, not sure when it opened but Mr Sun popped up on my Snackpass app & it had 2 drinks on Special so i stopped in. Service was great even though There was just 1 barista working when i was there and she was a trooper - the owner of this spot is lucky to have her working here. I did not ask her name or I'd mentioned here to honor her professionalism.
Another boba spot that was recommended by my friend, so I decided to stop by on a Saturday afternoon. It was the perfect day for a drink since the weather was pretty warm in the Bay Area. I did have trouble looking for the entrance mainly because it was on the side and wasn't located close to the parking lot. The inside was quite spacious and definitely a great hang out spot. I ordered the Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea with grass jelly. My friend said it runs sweet, so I did 25%. The boba was really chewy and loved the silky grass jelly. I didn't realize that the milk tea was Earl Grey, which is one of my favorite teas. I'm also glad that this drink was non-dairy since I'm lactose. The drink was so good, that I pretty much inhaled it within 30 min. I think I realized that I do prefer fruity drinks, especially during the summer since they're more refreshing. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in their area to try other drinks on their menu. Also, this area also has other great restaurants to check out!
Food Their boba here is good. They offer many different flavors of it. I've tried quite a few drinks here and each one were pretty good. I usually order it with less sugar. Service Used the Kiosk with ease but when receiving the drinks, the workers were nice. Ambiance Plenty of seating and waiting area. It was empty when I came.
Drinks: Strawberry boba milk tea w/ duo duo cup -50% sweet 0% ice -Default is non dairy creamer -whole milk is $1 extra -they actually filled up the cup even though I got 0 ice which I really appreciate -I really love their handmade strawberry boba. It was chewy and flavorful -it was a bit too sweet so next time if I get the same drink I would get 25% sweet Three Brother Milk tea w/ boba & pudding & grass jelly -75% sweet 0% ice -default milk is non dairy creamer -whole milk is $1 extra -surprisingly the 75% sweet for this drink was less sweet than the 50% for the other drink so that's funny. -I personally would still get 50% sweet for it but my friend liked it 75% sweet -the tea is also an earl grey We used the kiosk to order and it was fairly simple but 1/2 of the machines seem to not process the $4 milk tea deal well. The staff is very nice and attentive. One of the staff members told me that the duo duo cup would give us 10% off the next drink when we come back but it's not stackable with other promotions. There is a lot of seats and the space is quite large.
Came here for an enhypen cupsleeve event, so it was pretty busy! Not sure how busy it is normally but there were a few regular customers (not here for the event) that had to wait awhile for their drinks. I love that this establishment is a popular host spot for kpop events and that they allow others vendors to set up! There was enough space for there to be 4-5 vendors + trading area + check-in area but got a bit cramped with so many fans/customers inside. Drinks were better than I remember - I used to think it was on the sweeter side but trying both of their specials, I really liked both! Still sweet, but the tasty boba made up for it. There are two electronic kiosks you can order on as well, off to the side.
I went here with my friend for the S. Coups birthday cupsleeve event. Got my usual strawberry milk tea with strawberry boba and oatmilk and it was really good! Parking is easily accessible from the nearby parking lot. The line to order was not too long and there is a nearby ordering kiosk if needed. The speakers were playing Seventeen music which really hyped us up while looking at the different vendor tables.
Walking in to sun tea I was surprised by how dim it was. I feel like it could use more light. Otherwise their decor was cute but simple. They had a cute mustache theme that made me think of the middle school Fad. I ordered a peach tea with rainbow boba and egg foam. I was surprised by how sour it was (not in a bad way) considering I got 100% sweetness. The service, while not bad, wasn't as warm and I expected. We ordered from a screen and it took a while for us to get our drinks. The workers were quiet, but I'm thinking they were short staffed. I'd consider trying again
Huge store space for a boba shop. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I got the golden brown sugar boba and added grass jelly. After some digging, I found out that it is earl grey tea that is used. The default milk is nondairy and plant based which is what the staff recommend so I went with it. The milk tea was really smooth and 25% sweet was good but I think the perfect balance was somewhere between 0% and 25% sweet for me. Boba had some chew and grass jelly was smooth. One thing I noticed was there is a sweet after taste that lasted a few hours for me.

We ordered the peach jasmine milk tea, Mr sun special, peach milk foam and the panda milk tea. We went on a Sunday and their special was peach boba for the day. It seems like the employees were fairly new but were nice. The bathrooms didn't have any toilet paper and the soap dispenser wasn't working. We told the employees but they didn't fix it right away. There was a lot of seating inside with tables and benches. The boba was good after lunch and the drinks were about $5-6. It was a $1 extra for boba sadly. read more

Mr. Sun Tea is facing Albrae Street, so park in the lot and walk past/around the corner. It's self serve, so place your order on the kiosk and pick up in the front. Also, there is plenty of seats to lounge and chill. We ordered: - Jujube Longan (hot): 4/5 - BE CAREFUL! pipping hot to the point you need to wait about 10 mins before getting to enjoy the drink. - QQ Milk Tea W/ Coconut Jelly & Boba: 4/5 - I like the consistency of the boba, actually made to my liking and I was surprised with this combo of coconut jelly and boba. The flavor of the milk tea was pretty good as well, I went with 75% sweetness and it was the right amount of sweetness for me. First time trying Mr. Sun Tea and def won't be the last. Mr. Sun is in a nice location, has ample parking, and is clean inside. There are two kiosks and the option to order at the counter; the drinks come out fast which is nice. I thought indoor was cute to sit & hang out with friends, would be better if they also turned on the extra lights and made it brighter. Mr. Sun Mango & Mr. Sun Strawberry drinks from the Special section were so good! I usually opt for milk tea with strong tea flavors and not fruity, dessert drinks but I really enjoyed the Specials. Mango Green Milk Tea: this combination was interesting, I might get it again if I got 100% sweetness. Osmanthus Milk Tea: the black tea tasted really nice, but I didn't taste osmanthus. I'm curious about the rest of the menu, I would definitely come back to try more of the menu or just for the Specials. read more

Goated Mango drink to be honest. I've been a couple times and I really like their drinks. The only down side is it's rather expensive. I would come back if I'm craving the drinks though. It was wasn't too sweet and you could taste the ingredients. Not happy with the ice stopping me from getting to the toppings though. Service was quick and there's a self serving kiosk as well. Mr. Sun Tea is a casual boba joint, great for casual hangouts with a friend or first dates. The store itself is quite large with lots of space and a good amount of seating. The parking lot also has ample parking spaces. We ordered on the tablet, and the service was super quick - it felt like it took maybe a minute before our drink was ready. I ordered the Mr. Sun Special w/Strawberry Boba, which had deliciously chewy strawberry boba (and apparently low calorie according to the videos displayed on the TV screens) and bits of strawberry slush in the drink. Very tasty and would recommend this drink, can't go wrong with their most popular drink suggestions! The store is conveniently located next to several restaurants, so I'll likely come back again for a future post dinner treat. read more

Whenever I'm in the Fremont area, you know I'm getting Mr. Sun Tea. It's one of my fav boba spots! Their handcrafted boba is the best! They make brown sugar, strawberry, mango, and seasonal flavors. The texture is consistently good with a perfect chewiness. Also, the boba doesn't leave me feeling guilty about eating them like some other boba do. Drinks that I'd recommend: Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea Strawberry Boba Milk Tea Mango Boba Milk Tea Rainbow Boba Milk Tea Three Brothers Milk Tea The milk tea itself is really tasty too. Mr. Sun Tea's been on my bookmarks list for years now and it took brunch at SOHO Modern Japanese a few steps away to finally try it. A friend and I stopped by in 90°+ heat to cool down. AC was prominent with the sweet smell of brown sugar boba permeating the air. They specialize in making fresh batches of flavored boba in house daily: brown sugar, strawberry, and mango. This weekend they had peach boba too. One other unique offering they have is non-alcoholic Heineken beer. I ordered a peach jasmine green tea, 0% sweet, 50% ice, with rainbow boba. Cool how the tea has a foamy top, kind of like beer. First sip was peachy with strong flavors of brown sugar from the boba. Mango was a bit more subdued with strawberry more tart. Loved the peach boba, flavor comes out stronger than the other fruity ones. Large portion of chewy boba here. The drink also had diced candied peach. Sweetened just right because of the boba syrups. Half ice is the way to go because regular would be too much. My friend ordered Passionfruit green tea with mango and peach boba. Super refreshing fruit teas! Order from one of the two kiosks and wait for your number to be called. Employees seemed nice, not too much interaction besides drink pick up. They made sure I got my straw though. Cool decor! They had a colorful dangling lights lamp hanging from the middle of the ceiling, plus organic chem structure wall art. It's been years since I studied that stuff so I wouldn't be able to name the structures lol. Plenty of seating inside, spacious with a high ceiling. Best of all, it was air conditioned. read more

Went here a couple of times. Both times were pretty good. I always get the Mr. Sun Green Tea w/ Non-alcoholic Heineken Beer. It is always so good the first time, but the second time going here, it wasn't really that good. I was a little watery, but still, pretty good. The service took like a 10-15 minute wait. It was a good wait for a boba place. The ambiance was like a Big TV next to the entrance and it was about how people make hand-crafted boba here and there were boards of it too! Also, there were also 2 big menus with all the drinks above the cashier counter. If you love boba and you are near Fremont, I recommend you to go to this place. read more

A coworker recommended me to come here because of the boba. Cool fact: you can watch them make the boba fresh in store! Parking is easy to find, staff is friendly and they have a variety of boba options from fresh milk tea, milk foam, tea lattes, handcrafted boba, fruit teas, etc. You can either order in person or via kiosk, but sometimes the kiosk doesn't work so just a heads up. I highly recommend trying out their special teas they offer because they are pretty good. I like that this boba shop has tons of options for toppings so look no further! I do like that when I ordered my drink ( pineapple green tea ) the sweetness I ordered (25%) was actually 25%. The boba definitely tasted fresh and delicious, so kudos! Mr. Sun Tea is a Taiwanese chain that has been around for more than two decades. This particular shop is located in the Albrae Plaza near the Auto Mall Parkway exit of Hwy 880. My buddy SK and I came here for some bubble tea after our dinner on 10/07/2022. It wasn't too busy when we walked in at around 7 pm. The contemporary design of the interior was very inviting. Cleanliness was exceptional. The self-service kiosk wasn't working so we ended up ordering at the counter. I got a Three Brothers Milk Tea ($6) while SK opted for the Peach Smoothie ($6.75). The young man who helped was very friendly. The "Three Brothers" consisted of boba pearls, pudding, and grass jelly. At 25 % sweet, it was still pretty sweet. My advice is if you don't want to get diabetes, order it with no sugar. All the toppings were okay. The boba pearls were chewy and the grass jelly tasted like grass jelly. The pudding could have been eggier IMO. All in all, this is a decent boba joint. I wouldn't mind coming back again. 3.5 rounding up to 4 based on service and ambiance. Mr. Sun is located along the street, it's in a quieter area so I haven't noticed it in the past. There's two big parking lots on either side of the storefront so parking will definitely not be a problem(: There is a self order kiosk which was very quick and efficient. My order was ready within 10 minutes. I ordered the Mr. Sun Mango. I wanted this drink because it is a non-caffeinated and no dairy option on their menu. I enjoyed the mango boba which helped add more mango flavor to the drink; however, there wasn't much flavor in the actual drink. I've heard great things about Mr. Sun, but I wasn't very impressed by the drink and tapioca pearls quality. Might have to give it another chance a different time. read more

2.5 stars. After our Santos Family dinner at Special Noodle to celebrate Mother's Day on May 12, 2024, a group of us walked across the street for dessert. The boys opted for ice cream at BRUSTER'S while the adults got boba from Mr. Sun Tea. Located in a shopping centre on Albrae Street, there is a parking lot for patrons. We had to drive around for a few minutes to find a space for our car as the lot was nearly full. We arrived at Mr. Sun Tea around 7:10 PM to a clean venue with many tables and chairs available. The boba shoppe wasn't empty, but not super busy. Mr. Sun Tea's menu offers an array of different drinks under a few categories; Mr. Sun Special, Handcrafted Boba, Chewy Chewy, Milk Foam Series, Milk Tea, Tea Latte (Fresh Milk), Smoothies/Slushies, Fresh Tea and Fresh Milk (No Tea). $0.75 Topping Options are Coconut Jelly, Grass Jelly, Coffee Jelly, Pudding, Basil Seed, Red Bean and Oatmeal and for $1.00 each, you can also top your beverages with Brown Sugar Boba, Strawberry Boba, Mango Boba, Rainbow Boba, Crystal Ball, QQ (Brown Sugar Boba & Coconut Jelly), Panda (Crystal Ball & Brown Sugar Boba), Coconut Noodle Jelly and/or Fresh Taro. Note: Mr. Sun has some strict rules like "No additional topping, replacement or alteration," "No replacement or alteration for topping options," "No additional Topping Allowed," to certain series of drinks. They also charge $1 for oat milk and also for No Ice. WEIRD. Rigidness and extra fees for certain things are a turn-off. I ordered a Blueberry Milk Tea with Oat Milk and topped with Basil Seed and Brown Sugar Boba. Even with Regular Ice, my drink was not very cold. The blueberry flavour came through well, but it didn't knock my socks off like I wanted it to. My beverage was OK. My drink was also served in a regular cold drink paper cup, not in a transparent plastic cup that I am accustomed to. What weirded me out again was that other drinks served to others came in the traditional see-through cup, not sure why. It's so minor, but I didn't like being served in a paper cup. Call me anal, but that's the honest truth. Will I return to Mr. Sun Tea? Probably not by choice nor with excitement. read more

Typically I love Mr. Sun, but the last few visits, the milk tea tastes super water down and the boba was hard. For my most recent visit, I ordered mango boba milk tea and they ran out of mango boba :( I opted for strawberry boba instead but the boba balls were extremely hard and small. The cups also changed to a matte long cup instead of the see through cups. The ambiance is clean most of the time, when it's not, it's more so because customers leave their trash behind. They only have one bathroom so sometimes there's a line. They have two self order kiosks along with a staff member who takes orders as well. read more

Yes, yes, and yes! This unique boba place makes all their boba pearls by hand, and has a variety of different boba flavors. And no, it's not popping boba - actually soft, chewy boba pearls in the tastes of mango, strawberry, and others! Parking is plentiful, wait times are reasonable (self order kiosk), and staff is super friendly for any questions you may have. I ordered a Mr Sun Special and Mr Sun Mango, both which were really unique. The Mr Sun Special was like a creamy strawberry drink with strawberry boba, and same can be said except with Mango for the Mr Sun Mango. I overheard the staff explaining to other customers that it's like milk mixed with housemade jam and topped with boba. The result is sort of like a strawberry/mango milk, but at the same time it's not since the taste is really unique. I liked the strawberry over the mango, but it's personal preference since they're both so good. I love how you can taste that the boba pearls are handmade; the sizes, texture, and shape felt in your mouth just doesn't feel like the regular brown sugar/honey black balls found in other stores. If you come to a Mr Sun Tea shop, be sure to try their specials. If you're more in the mood for a milk tea or other drinks, be sure to try their different flavored bobas, especially as a first time customer. The ambiance is amazing, music is played at a decent volume (given, it's all popular songs), and everything is clean. I have no negativities to say about this place, given I haven't had the experience of being unable to add boba to a smoothie. read more
First time at this location! I ordered a Mr Sun Mango with Mango Boba and this was amazing! I loved everything about this drink including the consistency with the sweetness and toppings. I would say that there is only one Kiosk to order from so you'd have to wait a bit during peak hours. Also, there is a huge sociable space to hang out with friends and chill at the tables. Our drinks did take a while to prepare but no complaints there. I would definitely come back and order the Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. read more

Highly recommend Mr. sun for all your catering needs. I reached out to Mr. Sun when planning a baby shower and connected with Jennifer. She was extremely helpful and responsive and getting back to me. She provided a few recommendations on how to decide ice level, popular drinks etc. We ended up ordering three drinks: strawberry boba milk tea, Jasmin green tea with grass jelly, and passion fruit green tea. All of the drinks we ordered were delicious. I was a huge fan of the passionfruit green tea (25% sweet) for its tartness and subtle sweetness. For their strawberry boba milk tea, the boba is made in house and has a great QQ texture. Also feels healthier than other boba. Location is great with lots of parking , no wait times and the selection of premade drinks is great. The only thing that was different was that you can't add the cheese foam to any drink it has to be from the premade cheese foam drinks list. I love the boba here at Mr. Sun Tea because it's homemade!! The boba texture is chewy and a different consistency than regular boba. There's mango boba, strawberry boba, brown sugar boba, and more. There's lots of seating inside too. The workers here are nice and helped me adjust the sweetness for my drink when it was a bit sweet for my liking. My favorites are the mango boba milk tea and peach jasmine green tea. Besides the boba, the tea is also good here! I would definitely recommended this place if you haven't tried out homemade boba and the is a great spot to hangout too! :) read more
I really like this place's boba! A lot of variety in flavors didn't compromise the tea taste which I love :) Took my grandma here and I got their special strawberry and the uji matcha, which was recommended by the cashier. Service was friendly and the shop is small and cute. We were lucky to get there before lines exploded. I think the sweetness of the drinks is just about right. Not too sweet or weak. Loved my drink, although 50% sweetness still felt a little too sweet for my taste (might order 25% for this drink next time). We were in the South Bay and wanted to try a new boba place after having spicy, numbing Hunan food. We saw on Yelp that Mr Sun Tea had handmade boba, so wanted to give it a try! When we arrived, there were probably 2-3 parties ahead of us. While the service wasn't necessarily slow, it did feel a bit disorganized with a number of drinks waiting on the counter but not called out. They seemed to have an automated system to call out the numbers, but that seemed to have malfunctioned halfway through our wait. We checked with the employees after a bit of a wait and it seemed like our drinks had already been ready, but just hadn't been called out. We tried the Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea and it actually had more of a jasmine green tea taste. Overall, the boba was a bit too soft for us and we didn't love the non-dairy creamer that was used since it felt a bit gritty near the end of our drink. I'm not sure if I would come back again for the milk teas, but I would try the fruit teas and their other flavored homemade bobas. read more
