I'll say right up front, the food at the Japanese Steakhouse was very good! Classic: Soup, iceberg salad, entree. They use mushrooms, white onion and zucchini for their veggies. I'm starting to think that my childhood memories of a fun and dynamic cook entertaining us while he prepares our food is either has skewed by time or these cooks just aren't as much fun. Our chef was good but not captivating or all that funny. I have found this to be the case at the last three steakhouses we have attended. We've kinda gotten to the point of saying just cook it. My friends and I came here for a celebration! steak was in so was sake. my friends were bragging about the sake & They weren't wrong. It was warm, smooth, and didn't have any of the bitter after taste I usually get.I also had a glass of moscoto to go with, so I'm glad I wasn't driving. As I said, it was a celebration! I of course ordered steak. we all did & the chef cooked it to perfection, for me is either rare or medium rare, depending on my mood! But this time it was medium rare. We also had this spicy crab salad which was also pretty delicious! I was full before we got to our main dish, from the both salads, the soup, and dare I say copious amounts of Sake. My friends also orded a roll of sushi, which would have been delicious had it not had that filthy sour cream. Now, my friend says she "forgot" there was sour cream in the roll when she offered me one, but I don't belive her. You see, she has a sadistic side, and knows I hate that filth. Her man had a quant smile on his face when I quickly downed my chaser! All kidding aside, I do believe her! Back to the chef, with his amazing utensil & fire tricks, also has really good aim! All of caught the flying shrimp he tossed at our mouths, which has never happened before, so that was pretty cool! The food here was amazing, so are the chef's that cook in front of you! My son enjoyed that aspect so so much! The only down fall to this establishment is the waitresses. We came in last night and waited at the door for about 15-20 minutes with another family who had also stood there waiting to be seated. (I understand you have to have X amount of people for the habachi grill but between the both of our families, there was more than enough). We were never even acknowledged until a gentleman (who is a chef) came from the back and saw us all standing. Once seated we waited about 5 more minutes for our waitress to greet us and take our drink order. Then another 5-8 minutes to actually receive them. When we ordered, I requested my soup with no onions or mushrooms... but got just that. The moment the cooking show started we really enjoyed the vibe and our Chef was the best. He actually had to request that the waitresses refill our drinks. She disappeared for the rest of the night until it was payment time. My suggestion to this company is to train your waitresses & implement a hostess who can properly greet & seat. Past that you're restaurant will be golden! read more

Go to Siki. The food was awful. I'm not sure the cook wasn't actually a dish washer. He barely seasoned any of our food. He started by cooking the eggs for the fried rice and offered to toss the eggs into our mouths. My husband ended up with runny eggs all over his shirt. I've never seen a hibachi restaurant throw eggs! He proceeds to cook each of the steaks individually. Another first. Minimal seasoning and the meat was completely cold. He kept cutting the chicken to see if it was cooked all the way through. He used the same spatula on the butter that he used with the raw meat. I couldn't even eat my food, I was so grossed out! We went here for the first time several years. The sushi was great (ordered the Ichi Roll--my favorite--, California Roll, and a Tootsie Roll). We ordered the crab rangoon, which was tasty. I, also, ordered the teriyaki lunch with steak, shrimp, fried rice, and veggies. The soup was solid, as was the solid. We had plenty of leftovers and the service was good. Give yourself lots of time (probably 2 1/2 hours). Don't bother making a reservation, they take people as they come in the door. Our 7 pm reservation had us seated at 7:45 and the first food hit the flat top at 8:30. The 2 parties checking in before us without reservations were seated before us, and 1 was leaving as our chef arrived to the table. The only reason i am giving them 3 stars is for the food which is good. But i arrived at 6pm on a Saturday was told 1.5 hour wait that is fine. Sat at the bar for about 2 hours took them 25 mins to even ask what we wanted to order. They are not understaffed they are just uneducated. The employees waitresses seem young i don't think she was suppose to be serving liquor i actually saw her put Amsterdam in one of their speciality drinks the ciroc on the beach. They don't have uniforms which was odd to me. The establishment doesn't have a host. There is no order. It is straight confusion. It is almost 9pm now and i was just seated at a station 20 mins ago but have yet to see someone start cooking in front of me. The end result I'm getting my food to go. read more

This is my go to pick for a hibachi joint. This overlooked gem is a great portion to price find. The tastes are above the normal hibachi spot. I also love the service and the lower foot traffic vs other hibachi places. Only down side is the place does look a little dim and uninviting. read more

We came here and had a reservation for 6pm. We sat at the bar just to have a drink while we waited. We sat here for over 45 minutes was never asked if we wanted a drink or anything. I watched the bartender finger the hell out of the drinks he was making, the vacuum they used to clean the floor, they set on the sink and the cutting board for the drink garnishes and the clean rack of cups. Watched a guy come in and ask how long the wait was and the guy behind the bar was hateful to him and said if he dont have a reservation then he can just wait and pointed at the cooking tables. I don't like complaining about service because I've worked in the industry and it's not always easy, but this service was horrible. It took 10 min for anyone to greet our table, and another 10-15 min to get any water. I ordered the veggie Lo Mein and it was pretty good. My miso soup tasted burnt, but it wasn't too bad. However... my boyfriend ordered the chicken teriyaki, and the CHICKEN was literally RAW. I should've taken a picture, but when I say raw, I mean it was probably cooked for 5 min before serving. Since it's NYE, I called this afternoon to ask how much time they would need to make a carry-out order for 6 people this evening. I was told it wouldn't take any time at all. I had a decent experience here. The restaurant is set up extremely weird and was very dimly lit to the point where you couldn't really even tell what you were eating. None of the staff was really engaging, the guy getting our water and plates was kind of clueless, I asked him if they had soy paper as it didn't say on any of the menus and he acted like he had no idea what soy paper was. Our actual waiter was pretty prompt but again none too friendly. The star was definitely the sushi. The sushi menu itself seemed pretty vanilla, but the rolls I got were really good! My favorite was probably the sumo roll. The only down side to the rolls I got where that they were absolutely caked in Panko which I felt was pretty unnecessary. The prices were good compared to other local sushi places and the rolls were a good size. I'm definitely planning on going back! read more

Me. Sushi Japanese steakhouse is just a little bit off 291 but is a must for dining. Great ownership and always a friendly staff is a great pathway start for your experience. There are two parts: sushi or hibachi and we usually do hibachi. Soup for starters and on my last visit the flavor was best to the bottom. Soup then salad and we always get white rice with yellow sauce. Now comes the hibachi show. Something to note, the teriyaki chicken has lots of tasty sauce so I usually make a bed of rice before chef lays it on plate, so none of the best flavoring is wasted and the rice locks in the flavor making a clean plate and excellent leftovers the next day! The vegetables are always fresh and mouthwatering as is the chicken, steak and/or shrimp, whatever your choice. We always get the chicken and occasionally shrimp. We've tried a lot of places and this is the best place to eat lunch virtually anywhere for the price. Best price and outstanding value why eat lunch anywhere else on the weekdays? If you go on a weekend or Friday night, make sure you get reservations as the wait can be lengthy but still worth it. Try it today and make sure to leave your review. read more

This is a very friendly, down-to-earth sushi and teppanyaki grill. They perform all the requisite teppanyaki routines (ooh the pyramid of onions is shooting fire, ooh some guy is throwing smashed-up shrimp at my face), and the prices are reasonable. There's an almost disconcerting abundance of space inside the restaurant, possibly enough to accommodate a basketball scrimmage. The owner, Tan, is very outgoing and friendly. He says "hey Rich" every time I come in, which is nice because that is my name. The sushi section of their restaurant seems consistently popular, but there is almost always available seating at the teppanyaki grill. And just like any authentic Japanese restaurant, they give you a handful of Andes chocolate mints along with your bill. That is what Japan is known for, right? read more
