Everything was super tasty. Even though I just came back from China 2 weeks ago, I could not tell the difference between the great food here and what I had in China, which speaks to the authenticity of this place.

I came here with some tennis friends after our tennis practice got rained out. We circled the block a few times looking for parking and finally got lucky! They have a pretty good takeout business--people kept coming in to pickup to-go orders. I also liked their holiday decorations. 3 of us shared Dry Pot and Eggplant String Beans and Shredded Pigs Ears. Everything was delicious, spicy, and had complex sauces and flavors. We also liked our bubble milk tea drinks! Service was fast. Portions were good. Prices were reasonable. I'm not in the area very often, but would come back if I was.

Stopped by after a Warriors game. Two of us had: soup dumplings(8pcs) $10.95 2 jasmine green tea $4.25 ea $8.50 total eggplant string beans $15.95 braised beef noodle soup $16.95 Tap water was so bad we had to get tea. Staff, for the most part, was friendly to us, but did see them yelling at a food pick up order earlier when we walked in lol. Eggplant was on the tougher side. Soup dumplings were not good at all...and one of them seemed bitten.. I assume the location does well with later closing hours. Definitely could've been better. Street parking only.

Food: The food itself has very good flavor, however, it was not consistent. The house chowmein and Mongolian beef were extremely salty. The dry pot was on the blander side. My favorite was the salt and pepper king oyster mushrooms, but the batter was a bit too thick. We did come later at night around 11 pm and it looked short staff, so I would try coming again in the day to see if that would make a difference. Service: There was only one person working in the front. When we came, there was a lot of unbussed tables. For ordering, we order through a QR code, and then pay at the end. The only time the server would come by is when he brings by food or if we ask for more water. The service wasn't bad but it just wasn't attentive as there is only one person working in front. Ambience: This is a medium sized restaurant, with lots of table. It seems that the main customer base is students, probably from SF State. They open very late until 1 am. Because I came later at night, there was a lot of street parking open around.

Authentic Szechuan food that is spicy! There is no parking lot here, so you'll need to park in the neighborhood. We ordered the following: - fried green beans - large portion and a nice offset vs the meat and spicy food we ordered - minced pork over rice bowl - an individual-sized rice bowl, but was nice and comforting vs all the meat dishes - beef chow fun - great wok taste! - chili fried chicken- spicy but too many chili peppers. Half the plate was red chilis. I wouldn't order this again - dry pot. I liked the concept where you can add the meats and vegetables you wanted, but there was barely any flavor and not worth the cost - salt and pepper fish fillet - was ok. I'd try something else on the menu next time Overall, enjoyed the food and the restaurant is a good size. They do a lot of take-out too!

This is very unfortunate for a restaurant that I thought would meet my standards based on the last time I visited. My dine in experience a few months ago was pleasant. However my uber eats order tonight was probably one of the worst meals I'd ever experience in my entire life. First of all it was a busy Friday night, so I get it. However I had to wait over 40 minutes for 4 orders of wontons. The wontons were awful and an absolute disgrace. Whoever was in the kitchen did a terrible job. They literally took like 5 wrappers and filled it with meat that was the size of peanut. Without a doubt, one of thee worst food experiences of all time. Literally the whole was 80% wonton wraps

Ordered delivery for this, but it was still as good as in person. The beef, pork, and fish were my choice of proteins. I wish the pieces were larger, but still tasted good. It has a good spicyness to it without being too spicy.

I tried three of the dishes, and my favorite was the Mapo tofu and Mongolia chicken. The chicken wasn't too spicy but it was just enough spicy for me. The vibe of the restaurant was really nice too, they were playing 2000s hits in the background. Service was nice too, and you just order through the QR code.

Exceeded expectations for late night snacks at 19th and Taraval. Open till 1 AM on a Saturday night so we stopped in (after seeing a musical at the Orpheum theater) on the way home. Enjoyed the broth on the beef noodle soup and the green onion pancakes the most of the items we ordered, but everything else was pretty solid.

the most underrated place i swear as a fellow Burmese-Malaysian we LOVE having Dry Pot/Hot Pot as out comfort food. The place is never overly crowded and music is fun 2000s, with friendly chill service as well. I've eaten here more than 10 times and i love that they would give you your space and orders are fast. My go to order has always been Dry Pot/Super Dry Pot, the taste varies and it's not always the same with not a big difference but surprisingly what i look forward to lol. Definitely a great late night spot!!!

I've been curious about this place for a while, having walked past it many times. I needed to find a late night spot for dinner and the menu had a good number of options. We ordered two Beef Skewers, Laksa Noodle Soup, and Black Bean Noodles. The skewers had a decent seasoning that's not spicy, just mostly salty. However, the meat quality was terrible. The pieces were small, dry, and had a texture almost like tough beef jerky. I had high hopes for the Laksa Noodle Soup, but unfortunately, it was incredibly bland. The only flavor that came through was a faint hint of coconut. There wasn't even a salt shaker on the table to try to make it more appetizing. As for the Black Bean Noodles, once mixed, it was clear that the noodles weren't even properly coated in the sauce. They gave so little of it and the sauce itself was bland too. I'm honestly not sure how this place has 4 stars..

Everything that we ordered at Mr. Szechuan was delicious. Definitely a good spot for small group outings. And in the off-chance that you're hungry for a late lunch or early dinner when most restaurants open (or re-open) at 5pm, Mr. Szechuan opens at 4pm on weekdays! price: ~$30/person recs: dry pot, green onion pancake, brown sugar boba - Dry Pot: Huge, cooked to perfection, and perfectly mala. Highly recommend getting the lamb, which was super tender! - Tan Tan Noodles: Generous portion, would have liked a little bit more ground meat, but otherwise really solid - Salt and Pepper Chicken Cartilage: Haven't seen this at other restaurants! Super crispy and piping hot. The breading that Mr. Szechuan uses is noticeable sweet and starchy. - Green Onion Pancake: This is the first time that I've had a green onion pancake that tasted almost deep-fried, but it was super good and not oily! - Brown Sugar Boba: Pearls were bouncy and the drink was not too sweet. Cuts the spiciness of the szechuan food really well. Would definitely come back!

What they texted me right after we got off the phone. Integrity 1000%. A business I'd support.

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.
