First time ordering from here. I ordered a large sausage and onion pizza with a salad. I got the honey mustard dressing and house on the side so I could try both. Everything was delicious! And it was one of the best salads I've had! People working the counter could be a little bit more friendlier. But I enjoyed the food so I'll be back! read more

This is Chicago's finest dining establishment. Been coming here forever. One of the citys best italian beefs and thin crust pizzas. Also has the best double cheeseburger in a 5 mile radius, which is a 45 minute drive Chicago standard time. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Mr.V's runs in my blood. read more

We have been ordering food from Mr. Vs for years. Their food is the best. The thin crust pizza is my favorite, and not many places have all the various sizes like the 10". Eh, I'm sad to say that I'm not a huge fan of this pizza. After all the rave reviews, we ordered a thin crust with lots of toppings, and it was just ok. it was very cheesy, but the cheese had kind of a fake flavor and the crust was not nearly the crispiness that others here described. When it comes to thin crust, Mr. V's is the BEST. It's unlike anything else you find in NYC or Chicago for that matter and I love this place. Cripsy thin crust, gleaming flavorful cheese and a savory/sweet sauce will have you licking your fingers after each slice. Their cheeseburgers are awesome--neon green relish, onions, mustard and old school crinkle fries can't be beat. Hot dogs, roast beef--everything is delicious. We usually do takeout, although you can eat inside, it's small and no frills. The Italian beef I had was bad. The meat was tough, and so was the bread, at one point I had to gnaw on the bread and meat like a wild animal. The beef had the typical peppers on it, but also had jalapeno peppers, which was odd. Delivery was slow. read more

I love the Italian beef! It's alot bigger than the one I got at Al's on the Westside and they give you LOTS AND LOTS OF MEAT! It's well favored with just the right amount of jus! I got grilled onions and peppers for 38 cents extra. They sell RC Cola, instead of Coke and Pepsi, which I haven't had in years! I was tempted to get a pizza slice too, but I resisted. Their pizza is average. It's not bad - I would certainly eat it again if placed in front of me. Or if you were getting a bunch of pizzas for a kids party, it would be good. I wouldn't say it was very good and it's certainly not excellent. If given a choice, I'd try to find another option. I have been fortunate to have some VERY excellent pizza. Great little hole in the wall neighborhood pizzeria. I've ordered literally hundreds of pizzas from this place over the last decade. It's always fast, great, & friendly. I've never had the thick or pan pizza, or much of anything else from their menu beside the thin pizza for that matter, so I can't comment on that. Someday I might just have to try their pan to see how it stacks up against Lou's. read more

Mr. V's, you had me at "right next to the Forest Glen metra station." I mean seriously, people, how much easier do you want it to get? Here's a straight-up, down-home Chicago pizza (or whatever else sounds good that you don't feel like making yourself) joint. This is not a place for picky people. This is a place for people who don't want to cook, who like tomato sauce. I think that covers all of us at one point or another. Prices are reasonable and the wait isn't long (most people pick up and do not eat in, though there are a few tables). Is it fancy? Ah, no. But that isn't why you went to Mr. V's.... I live nearly a mile or less from this fine establishment. Many storefront pizza places can be hit or miss however Mr V's is amazing good. I often do the special or just get a coupon online for the free 10" pizza with any 16" pizza. Love it! Also collect the coupons with your pizza and get a free one after 10 or 20. I can't remember. Service is always quick and helpful even though always under the gun. Glad to have this establishment in my neighborhood. read more

We love Mr. V's! We have been in the neighboorhood for many years, and have ordered from Mr. V's at least once a week. Everything on their menu is tasty. I usually go for their chicken tenders and bbq sauce, but the pizza is also wonderful. They have plenty of coupons available, just check their menu. The staff are friendly and remember our order. So so so sad. I didn't know that they had recently changed owners until it was too late. I ordered baked most with meatballs, which comes with garlic bread. How was I to know that the new owners would take "easy sauce" to mean "please load up with as much extra sauce and extra chunky tomato pieces?" (yuck). The meatballs may have been the original Orazio/Luigi recipe, but I'm pretty sure that they are not. The garlic bread. Sigh. Mr. V's garlic bread - so flaky on the outside, so perfect on the inside with the perfect garlicky spread. NOPE. I received two hard as concrete hunks of bread that were flavorless and burnt. I had to throw it out as I was afraid to break a molar after just one bite. Gross. The order also took about an hour and 20 minutes to get to me. Zero stars, really. This bums me out, but thankfully there are a bunch of other pizza joints in the area. I get it, but man, I wish Orazio and Luigi were still running the show over there. read more

Mr V's is wonderful! Always has been. We lived a few blocks away for a number of years and NEVER had a bad pizza, ever! We now live in California where their idea of good pizza is; Little Cesars. WOW. To all you folks that talk about a bad beef; what kind of Chicagoans are you? You must live in the suburbs. EVERYONE knows you don't go to a pizza place for a beef! You go to Al's, or Buona, morons. You wouldn't go to Al's for pizza would you? Maybe you would. I haven't had Mr. V's pizza in a while but I remember it being really, really good. It is greasy, but in a VERY good way. They have a very good crispy crust and the pizza is loaded with cheese and toppings. Pointers for pepperoni under the cheese! Although I never set foot in the actual restaurant, I know that it is practically the size, if not smaller, than the average living room. Although in Chicago, all the best joints are the smallest. read more
