This is one of my favorite Chinese take out food..and today I really wanted to eat here I thought I wasn't going to make it because they close at 9 and I made it 5 mins before they close and the guy that works there Ever said he could make us anything we wanted fresh and for him to say that 5 mins before they close that's an amazing customer service and the cook for making it for us too..I know how annoying it's when people show up before they close but them two were fantastic..not just today but every time I come in here food is always fresh I really recommend this place!! A decent Chinese food area. I got to try this place out as I was waiting to wash my comforters next door. You have options of getting 1,2, or 3 item combos here along with rice and chow mein. They have a decent amount of items here from bbq Pork, mandarin beef to orange chicken and all the other stuff. I tried the two item combo with half rice and half chow mein. As for the two items, I got the chicken with black bean sauce and mandarin beef. The items were just okay. I mean it fills you up and you will be satisfied but it's just okay. The service was awesome though as the guy there is super friendly and has a lot of personality. I liked the mandarin beef slightly better. It had a little crisp to it which was nice. But it would have been much better if everything was warmer and more fresh. I'm guessing it depends on what time of the day you go there. I have been going to Mr. Wok for over 30 years. Its always been fresh, flavorful & delicious. I just went last week after a year, not visiting. I always enjoy seeing Sweet Jack & his wife. I was told they have retired. The food was beyond disgusting. Orange noodles, no cabbage, or veggies, plain & tasteless. The orange chicken was so o hard, I couldnt bite into it. It was sweet, but no flavor or taste of orange. I also ordered the BBQ Pork which also lacked flavor & it was greasy. I paid over $13 & tossed it into the trash as it was completely inedible. Beyond disappointing. Please dont waste your time or money, the food is just gross. If I could I would rate this a ZERO! read more

I was a bit hesitant to come here because the search results on Yelp showed Mr Wok has closed down. It is actually referring to a different location further down El toro (closer to the 5 fwy). This location on El toro and Trabuco is OPEN!! The food is good. Sometimes you just crave Panda Express style food and this place fulfills that craving. They have your typical 1, 2, or 3 item combos. Thanks for selling me old food that was sitting under heat lamps, you guys are so cheap!! I've been a loyal customer and have brought up the lack of quality issue you guys are having and you guys just ignore me and give me an attitude when I come in your restaurant as a PATRON. I always return and always get let down, and I always tip $5 or more and YOU guys are rude and cheap. You don't deserve it, and you don't deserve to have a business based off of the way you operate. I USED to love this place, and I have actually had conversations with my family when the conversation comes up "what do you want for dinner..? And we all speak so hopefully of Mr. Wok, wishing their food will be like the first couple times we had it. Before, we went here, & the food was amazing, in fact it was unlike any Chinese food we had in quite a while, that we would almost weekly commute from Trabuco canyon all the way here, and now the last 6 times we have been here the food has been bland, oily, generous but entirely flavorless. And now I am really pissed, we went and got Mr. Wok last night, brought it home and everyone had a plate of the very steaming hot food that was.... overtly hot in order to cover the fact that everything tasted very OLD, AND DRY and you know it was not fresh.. Everything was stale or under a heating for already an extended amount of time.. noodles, tangerine beef and orange chicken as well as eggs rolls with a sour taste to them ... Everyone after dinner agreed the food has a "taste" and frankly we were all expecting to get sick... The next morning, I check on everyone and of course, with out fail. We were all experiencing gastrointestinal issues due to the nasty food!! So, as per my morning routine of taking my dog out to the back yard, I go through my kitchen and notice it REEKS of rotting smelling CHINESE FOOD in my kitchen and I follow the smell.. I open my fridge and the food that was put away at the perfect temperature and sealed appropaitely is literally reeking up my fridge and smells like a rotting animal carcass!!! I cleaned day whole fridge out at 8 am, and didn't have to check anything else because the Chinese food was the only thing obviously rotting. This is so unacceptable, I always tip well and have continued to patronize this place but I just can't with these guys. So cheap. They already make enough money, don't you know treating return customers like this will make them swear off your company forever? Well, that just happened. Too bad I didn't put this last one on my credit card, maybe I could file a claim and get my money back because I have to spend money on Imodium and 7up up counteract your Chinese food botulism !! read more

Massive portions, cheap price, and delicious flavor. I have been coming here for a few years now as I prefer Mr. Wok to Panda Express. Choices are limited down here in Lake Forest off of El Toro but I would still choose Mr. Wok over a lot of the other Chinese food restaurants I have access to in Westminster/Long Beach and beyond for work. Very friendly staff and I have rarely experienced end of the tray food scraping because when I order an entree like tangerine beef, they always get a new tray out so I have fresher food. read more
