I do not remember the name of the sales person who helped me (hard to chit chat with masks on) but I was greeted immediately when I walked in. I had a list of styles I wanted to see and she walked me through the warehouse to see them all plus showed me more options in the showroom area. I found everyone to be kind and helpful. It is easy to feel overwhelmed at a place like MSI if you're not a professional (and I am not) so I appreciated the kindness and guidance and I searched the quartz slabs. read more

We went to their lavish showroom and picked a product, a rough finish travertine natural stone tile. When our contractor picked up our order it was half what was needed according to our dimensions. The tiles were tied in a bundle so it was impossible to see each tile. When our contractor pulled the bundle apart at least half the tiles were unusable with large chunks missing and nickel and quarter sized holes the full thickness of the tile! When I called a person said we had to work with our contractor and all sales are final. Be warned. These people are crooked through and through!! read more

I love the selection of materials (tile. Countertops stone, etc). However, there seems to be this culture that when a white customer comes in, the ladies at the reception go above ans beyond to show them the store even where the bathroom are. However, I signed in no one offered to help. I waited patiently even when they were not helping anyone. But since they were not going to offer to help I asked for help. However one young receptionist was super rude when I asked her for the price of a slab and refused to help. Not coming here again. read more

Absolutely the worst and most unreliable service. My contractor ordered floor tile from MSI on December 6th. We were told it was available in Orange County and would be shipped up to Hayward in 7 - 10 business days. It's now December 28th and the tile has still not been received. This is holding up my entire job. I would never do business with them again - totally unreliable. read more

The floor quality of this shop is terrible! The flooring purchased in Homedepot in September 2020 will be damaged in November, and more and more places will have problems. Contact the floor company, shirk responsibility, that is the problem of installation. It's a professional master. There's no problem after the installation. It took less than two months for the problem to appear. The floor quality and service attitude of this company are extremely poor. I will find the relevant legal department to continue to investigate the responsibility of the flooring company. read more

Horrible quality (we have two defective slabs that have perfectly round pock mark/chips in 12 places and growing!!)- Customer care even worse (rep. came out, agreed that 'impact damage' isn't perfectly round pock marks all over the counter but then ghosted us for weeks and finally came back saying it was impact damage---we never drop anything on our counters!!). We are likely going to replace them on our own nickel because the pocks are all over and it looks cheap. read more

There is a better place in San Jose no more orders for this slow customer service that doesn't even ask if you've been helped yet. Wow! What an awesome place. Everything you could want and nobody who works there knows a damned thing and they don't seem to care. Do you have samples? "I dunno". Is it in stock? "I dunno". What's the cost? "Maybe $25?" Per square foot? "I think." Turns out, they don't even sell it to you. Your fabricator buys it and charges whatever he can get away with. read more

We were literally forced out while we were trying to place an order at closing time (noon on a Saturday), and the only reason I even realized they were closing was because my salesman walked past me on his way out the door wearing his backpack. They don't sell directly to the customers and their reasoning for doing that makes sense. However, what does not make sense is the difference in the price (approx.) they tell the customer and the actual price they charge your contractor. Its literally 50% less. Your contractor has a major incentive in referring this place to you. The choices are okay. Definitely not worth the long drive if you are located in the san jose area and the deal is for your contractor and not for you. read more

They have nice products but their customer service stinks. Their call center is based in India so if you call for assistance, you'll get the run around. If you are lucky to reach someone in their Hayward showroom, the staff are rude and the tone is very condescending. Save yourself the trouble and skip this spot if you can. My husband and I have visited over five different stone suppliers and this by far was the worst customer service and experience ever. We asked to look at a few slabs and they told us it would take about 15 minutes, only for 15 minutes to pass and were told the request was just put in. So we waited the additional 15 minutes and still nothing happened so we followed up. They told us that they weren't sure how much longer so we decided to cut our losses and leave. Complete waste of our time and such a bummer for MSI since we were ready to purchase 6 slabs! In Julia Roberts voice from Pretty Woman,"BIG MISTAKE!" We will be telling all our friends, families, co-workers, and construction team and fabricators how terrible this place is. Very disappointing. read more

They have quite a good selection of various materials and are helpful. The only reason for giving them a low score is because do not sell directly to the customer, must go through a fabricator, contractor who most probably mark up the cost of materials and you end up paying higher. read more

We needed to re-install our sink in a new countertop, which meant we needed a new cutout template (since it wasn't just a simple square). It was very challenging to cut through the call center brush-offs to reach folks at the local branch, but once we did, wow! I John and I have done a number of remodelling projects and we can honestly say that our time at MSI was the most enjoyable we have every experience at a showroom! After looking at a variety of stone at local retailers and wanting to see full quartz slabs for bathroom remodels, it was suggested we visit MSI. After our initial check in, we were directed to the slabs. After wandering a bit confused for a few minutes, we were fortunate that Susanna approached us and offered her help. She was an exceptional resource. Not only did she show us the full quartz slabs we were interested in, she also suggested we look at some of the same quartz that came pre-fabricated which could be used in one bathroom to possibly bring down costs. Run away, go anywhere but here!!!! We have had our quartz for less than a year and have MULTIPLE nicks/ dents / chips in the quartz!!!! And MSI is not acknowledging the defective product!!! Don't get screwed like us!! We have had quartz in previous house from different company and never had a single issue, there are nicks in places barely utilized. We should have just gone with Marble! After our initial experience, Sunil, the manager did everything in his power to make the situation right. He ordered similar slabs to the ones we were looking at before & shipped them out as quickly as he could. A very proactive customer experience. This was the second remodeling we were undertaking in our house and visited msi to review tile and countertop options. Unlike other places there was no wait time to be assisted. The selection was a combined effort to find the best look for our kitchen. Today we had a great experience at MSI. The front desk lady was extremely helpful, showing us all types of natural stone, she made us feel welcome, and she even gave us the name of a few vendors who we can call to get the installation done. Even though they couldn't sell the product to us directly, they were very helpful in helping us choose what we want, checking if they have in stock, and sharing vendor names with us. She also gave us a sample to bring home, which was critical for our decision. When we got home, we were able to try it out. Wonderful job! read more

Our landscape contractor recommended a few showrooms in the Bay Area to check out for materials. He gave us MSI's address and I checked the business hours on Yelp before we made the drive across the Bay to Hayward. We were excited to check out their selection of stone for our retaining wall and patio/walkway project. As we walked in, I heard one of the staff complain to her coworker at the front desk that another coworker kept "taking walk-ins." She then turned to us and asked if we had an appointment. We replied no and started to say that we didn't know appointments were required because our contractor had just texted us the address, and that we were 90% sure what we wanted but would like to see some of the stone samples in person before he placed an order for our project. She interrupted before we could even finish the explanation and said, seemingly rather annoyed, "Sorry no, we aren't allowing people without an appointment - do you want to make an appointment for another day?" We said that we unfortunately lived across the Bay and we'd really like to just take a quick look around. In the same annoyed tone, we got another no. Given that we had just heard that another staff member was taking walk-ins, it rubbed us the wrong way. Suppose we'll have to find another supplier. read more

Updating my review because MSI was very proactive in making up for the unfortunate situation I was in. The VP reached out to me personally to find out what happened and afterwards he made every effort to help me find a resolution. He was very responsive and it showed that he truly cared about his customers and his business. I think very highly of people who take responsibility and put their customers before profits. I would recommend visiting their beautiful showroom in Hayward. After my followup experience with MSI, I would say that you can shop with confidence due to the exceptional customer service from the top down. read more

MSI Stone is simply the best. Everyone that comes to my house is shocked at how gorgeous a countertop can be. It's stunning. I am so happy that I went to MSI. Pictures don't do sea pearl justice. Everytime I share pictures with friends they say it's nice, but they they come over and their jaws drop. Sea pearl quartzite. Nailed it! It even comes in slabs so long that there are no seams at all. I'm so grateful for rachel and the rest of the staffs help. The pricing is a bit confusing at first, but with a ton of research and yard visits I rest assured that the prices are great. This place has so much inventory I was overwhelmed in a good way! This place is a whole seller place so u can only look and speak with your fabricator or contractor for quotes. We came in on a Saturday without an appt. and we were still able to check out their inventory. We spent an hour walking through and picking out what we liked for our fabricator and is awaiting for a price. If we agree we even get to come back and pick which piece of granite we want! M S is not the cheapest stone around but after seeing my neighbor's beautiful granite that he got from MS I decided to take a drive to Hayward. Every time I came to this place two of the women working there were very helpful. The last time I went there looking for my counter tops I kept picking marble. I really wanted to avoid marble because it is porous and stains which is bad for someone like me that loves to cook. The woman working at MS walked me over to the most beautiful stone and I knew right away I didn't need to look any longer. The stone I picked was a quartzite which appears like marble but is more durable than marble. I am extremely happy with my stone from MS. It looks beautiful in my kitchen. If you are looking for a company to fabricate your counters Romarts are your guys. They were so very careful to not scratch anything. read more
