My son has deemed this the "best peanut butter and jelly" he's ever had! He says it was the perfect ratio of peanut butter to jelly and the bread with less crust was also fantastic. Visited on a busy Tuesday with friends. There was a long line but everyone had it together and the team clearly knows how to work under pressure! All of our orders were what we asked for and the staff were kind and knowledgeable. My girlfriend was thrilled they have shredded lettuce for their sandwiches which is her favorite. Will definitely stop by again soon. read more

This was my first time here as I was working close by. I ordered the 9-in Deli Club which came with turkey, bacon, cheddar, sprouts, tomatos, onions and avocado. It looked like the bread was fresh made but this sandwich was fantastic! The balance of smokiness from the bacon with the creaminess from the avocado and the freshness from the tomatoes and sprouts made this sandwich perfect. I went during lunch so it was about a 15 to 20 minute wait, but I have no problem waiting for a great product. Next time I would order ahead just to save a little bit of time, but this sandwich was absolutely worth it! read more

MSM Deli - A Tacoma Must-Visit! Every time I'm in Tacoma, I make it a point to stop by MSM Deli--hands down, they have the best sandwiches around. I always order the Deli Club, which comes stacked with turkey, crispy bacon, fresh sprouts, and other delicious toppings, all on their amazing French bread. Lived in Pierce County for several years and we finally tried MSM Deli. Lots of choices on the menu. We chose the Mike's Deluxe and the Reuben. Both were delicious. The Mike's was huge and I got the smallest one! Reuben average size, maybe a little thinner than we expected based on other sandwich sizes. The bread on the Mike's was really good like it was baked fresh the same day. The meat tasted like good quality deli meats. The pickle spears also good and crunchy. The cookies were really really good! Started out with 2, but after tasting one, I went back to the counter and ordered 2 more! They were chocolate chip coconut, and macadamia mix. There is a very large and chips. We settled on the coke in the glass bottles, even though they had Coke and cans and plastic bottles the Coke in the glass bottles there's no comparison. Prices were very reasonable. Staff was all kind, courteous, and patient with us as we were mulling over the menu choices. We went at about 1pm and there was a 20min wait. Dining area with tables and chairs in the back. We wouldn't have known about the dining area if staff didn't tell us . We are looking forward to returning to try other menu options. read more

I ordered a salad and they didn't put any dressing with it. I called the manager and she was rude and unapologetic. I support friendly local sandwich shops and this is not one as I was told it was my fault:( Their mistake has cost them a future customer. Hope the dressing was worth it you horrible manager, she should know and practice customer service as it goes a long way and I hope she learns her lesson because if this is her demeanor this place will not last. read more

Honestly mid tier sandwich. If you cant get an Italian right, somethings wrong. Made with no love. And who on Earth puts pickles on an Italian? I understand that its a town favorite, possibly due to a cult following. It was quite busy when I arrived with a 20 minute wait for this sad excuse for a sandwich. I'd recommend Subway or Jersey Mikes instead. read more

If the prices of the sandwiches scare, you take a deep breath and prepare to be surprised by how much food you actually get. Those sandwiches are massive and whatever they put in them is magic highly recommend. Be sure to call in your order unless you wanna wait a half an hour for your sandwich though. Amazing sandwich spot that was our go to spot when we had lived closer. Now it became a treat when I would be around the area. I took my brother and his family who were visiting and all they could do is rave about the chicken ceaser sandwich. Right now, my favorite is their Reuben. It's toasted and is a great choice for a warm sandwich. But honestly can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches as they all taste amazing. They do get pretty busy when they open all through lunch so if you want to save some time, I suggest calling ahead. read more

I came here with one of my friends, and I just loved the vibes. It's one of those sandwich shops that should be on a food network show for how good their food is. This is probably one of the best sandwich spot that I've been to, the portions are huge for a good price. I usually go to Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. This is way better - you can get a giant one for basically the same price or cheaper, the owner is really nice as well. 10/10 recommend. read more

I've lived in the area my entire life and have never been to MSM. Definitely have been missing out. This was hands down the best sandwich shop I've ever been to! I placed an order ahead for pickup and the food was ready by the time I arrived (20-25 minutes). The prices are very fair for what you get. My friends ordered the Mike's Deluxe and Philly. I tried both of those and they were both so good. Super flavorful. I ordered the French dip and it was honestly the best French dip I've ever had. The au jus wasn't overly salty or anything. Can't wait to come back and try their other sandwiches. This place is incredible. read more

Best deli sandwiches in TTown!! I've been getting Sammie's here for over 18 years!! My fave is Turkey & Swiss, my husbands go to is the Mike's Deluxe!! Best bread with generous ingredients! I also love their Chili with cheese & onions when it's not sold out! The place doesn't look like much from the outside but don't be deterred it's worth the wait as the orders do stack up here. I was craving a Reuben sandwich, and wanted it made right. Choosing MSM was the best choice. It was delicious with generous ingredients put together perfectly. Their customer service was outstanding! I felt welcomed and that they appreciated my business. That speaks volumes with the amount of customers they have walking in the door. The wait time was half an hour, but it was worth it. best deli in tacoma!! from their bread to varieties of sandwiches... they got something for everyone. this is a hot spot so i'd recommend calling in your orders! there is a small parking lot but it can fill up quickly during lunch. luckily cars aren't parked there too long so you should be able to find parking sooner than later. i had the daily catch which is basically chopped up shrimp with some mayo and seasonings. it was delicious! read more

The sandwiches here are legendary in the Tacoma area. I heard about this establishment from a local news story. The service is great and they provide a number of drinks and snacks to add to your meal. There is a fairly large sitting area for customers who want to enjoy their meal at the restaurant. My husband gives this place 5 stars, I wish I could do 4.5 because my only gripe is the cheese. The location is big, with ample parking. It's basically a bodega so you can get your sandos, plus chips and any drink you can think of, including alcoholic. Girl at the register was nice and informative, and I commend the ladies making the sandwiches. They looked like they were working hard and nonstop. My husband got a gigantic French dip. The bread was different to any we've had and the meat was good quality. He ran out of the au jus because the little container was just that...little. my sandwich was good but I would've preferred a different cheese. American cheese is already plastic anyway but this one literally felt and tasted like plastic. I'll try a different cheese next time! read more

I've heard a lot of great things about this place and it didn't disappoint. Like many other reviews, there will be a wait when you walk in. We arrived at 11:30am and were told it would be a 35 minute wait. So many choices on the menu, I went with the Italian Cold Cut 9 inch for $11.79. I wasn't expecting the bread to be so wide, so I easily would have even satisfied with a 6 inch. The bread is probably about 5-6 inches wide. The wait indeed was 35 minutes, but they have a good selection of beers/seltzers behind the counter so I just got one of those, drank it and sandwich was ready. They also have a seating area to the right of the counter, so it was nice to not be stuck in a hot car waiting. The bread was soft and the ingredients tasted fresh, I added mayo to the sandwich as the Italian Cold Cut doesn't normally come with it. This was a quality sandwich, meats were hearty and filling, right amount of everything. If you're looking for a local unique sandwich shop in Tacoma, MSM Deli is the spot. read more

The Broadway Farmers' Market is also just a few steps away, so all in all it's in a very convenient part of one of Tacoma's handful of truly pedestrian friendly neighborhoods.

This is a deli. Not fancy but for a good sandwich...bear with the line and wait for the goods. First of all the generous parking lot was full. We waited for a spot but observed it cleared out, then filled again. The sandwiches we ordered were served on fresh delicious bread. There is a range of sizes from 6-26 inches as well as a good selection of sandwiches and some soups. Drinks are a large selection of domestic and imported beer, soda and wine. There are several aisles of chips, sweets and other convenience store foods. While I only saw a half dozen tables, i have been informed by my local friends there is another room with more seating if you choose to eat in. My 5 stars should almost say it all, but I should probably give more detail. This place doesnt look like much on the outside (or inside for that matter, but the food more than makes up for it). Honestly, if MSM had not been suggested to me, I would have continued to pass it by not knowing what I was missing. The sandwiches are awesome! You can pretty much make any sandwich you want from the meats, cheeses, and bread they have, or you can order their own creations like Mike's Deluxe. This place looks sorta sketch on the outside but let me tell you once you have one of their sandwiches you will be a fan for life!! Love it. I get the Mike's Deluxe most times, but their Italian Cold Cuts is another fantastic choice. Plus they have all the convenience store goodies waiting for your impulse purchasing.
