Coming from Texas, I feel I have eaten more than my share of tacos, but seeing quesa birria tacos, which even in Austin are a bit more of a rarity, had to give these a try and they were excellent. Crispy taco shell dipped in consome fat and fried, onions, cheese and a heap of meat, it was perfect dunked into the consume. Add some salsa for some acidity and some lime juice to cut through the fat and you got one heck of a bite. Let me be very clear, I live in Orlando and drive to Tampa when I'm craving these tacos and then yes I drive back to Orlando. If that's not a indication of how good their tacos are then I don't know what is. I've been wanting to try quesabirria tacos for years. YEARS, I tell you. I was so excited to see Muchachas open in Armature Works, but once I saw it was $13 for three tacos, I held off on going because I knew I'd have to split them with my fiance or be absolutely STARVING in order to eat three tacos. We decided we would visit on a Monday, and I literally had a countdown of the days in my head because I'd been wanting to try these for so long. I honestly was thinking that I'd built them up too much in my head and was going to be let down. I needn't have worried. We got our tacos and sat outside on the patio. I saw they had white onion in them, and I usually don't care for raw onion, but I figured I needed to eat these as intended before trying to fish them out. These tacos were SO dang good that I kept the onion in there. The shells were crispy, the shredded beef and cheese filling was plentiful, and dipping them in the sauce was just the icing on the cake. It was difficult sharing them, and I take back what I said -- I could've eaten all three. I might have felt awful later but I just didn't want to stop eating these! FINALLY fulfilled my birria taco DREAMS and they were just like I imagined, only better because they were real. They STUFF these "quesatacos" with tons of shredded beef and cheese then get them all crispy on the grill. The consumé (or essentially au jus) that you dip them into is heavenly and much richer than I imagined it would be. You WILL get the sauce on you and you WON'T regret it. Grab extra napkins (more than you think you need) and don't be shy about using those limes. I'm not sure why they bother with the free tasty salsas that come with it, because I'm telling you all you need is the consumé. While I normally love street corn, this one didn't jive well with me. For about $13 you can get three of these tacos with that are stuffed with beef and cheese with extra beef consume to dip with on the side. These really hit the spot and are full of flavor. This place is located in Armature works, along with several other restaurants. Much like everyone else, I came here specifically for the quesatacos and I was not disappointed. Three tacos for $13. Every bite was full of flavor. Beef, cheese, cilantro and onions in a crunchy on the outside taco, served with green and red salsas, limes and of course, beef consommé for dipping. Yummy! Finally tried the Quesabarria tacos at Muchachas and it was the best thing I put in my mouth in 2020 and so far in 2021. Yes, I loved it so much I got it again weeks later at Armature Works. Something about warm cheese and a Mexican dipping sauce to drench the tacos in. I definitely needed napkins but the lack of neatly eating abilities was made up for with flavor. It can take a little longer than the other items as it's cooked on the cooktop and is served piping hot. It's also served with a lime wedges, green and red salsa in case you prefer a fresher cold bite. The options you get for flavor combinations in a $13 dish are worth it. The staff wore masks and were really friendly. Great experience both visits. I will definitely be back and Muchachas is a great addition to the food venders at Armature Works. read more

I went on a very busy day because grow financial was giving away food for free. Even though the line was long and most customers were just there for the deal, the staff treated everyone with care as if we were paying. They were friendly and didn't seem to let the busy load bother them. They also had an efficient system to serve and the line moved along at a good pace. They didn't use the long line as a reason to rush or slack because the food was still quality. I will definitely be back again because it was a pleasant experience. Rice & beans: I'm not usually impressed with rice/beans that come with tacos if they aren't refried beans. But their rice/beans side wasn't mashed or heavy. It's surprisingly light, thoughtfully seasoned, and balanced. I also appreciate that it was separated from the tacos. Quesatacos: They give you 3 big tacos (the photo may look like 2 but there are 3). I couldn't eat all 3 in one sitting but the tacos still taste good later if you warm them in the oven. They are crispy, cheesy, and filled with meat. The tacos are not greasy at all. They give you plenty of meat, no cutting corners. The meat is tender and seasoned. I loved the onions still having some crunch and not being too cooked or grilled. On their own, the tacos aren't spicy but they offer hot sauce at the checkout. YES they look amazing, yes the beef is slow-cooked for hours, and yes they give you a rich looking consommé dipping sauce and two types of salsa... but the flavor explosion I was expecting was rather uninspiring. On the first bite I tried it plain without any enhancements, then dipped (which in my opinion didn't actually change the flavor), then with each of the salsas, and finally with a touch of salt. So I was really looking forward to trying these Quesatacos because I had heard so much buzz on social media, blah blah blah...You know the hype I'm talking about. So the Quesatacos were $13 and came with (3) to an order ....shredded beef and cheese ...very crispy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside, which was delicious! I had them omit the onions because I don't eat raw onions. My only fault with these was there were a few blobs of fat that I had to kind a tactfully (with a napkin) take out of my mouth because I don't like eating fat. I think they should've taken those blobs of fat out of the meat before they put them in the tacos. They were three sides of sauce that came with the dish on the side. One was a red salsa, a green salsa and the other I'm not sure what it was. All three were lacking in any kind of flavor so I did not end up using any. Onto the street corn, at $5 it was an OK portion size and had wonderful spicy flavor, however, it was seriously lacking salt. So I went back up to the counter to ask someone for either the salt packets or some kind of salt and was told there was no salt to be found! Really!?! No salt. Hope they read this and add salt as an option on the side. I think if they can fix those few small errors, I definitely would give this place 4 stars and return. read more

Why 5 stars? Because after one visit, I think this is my favorite stall at Armature Works. --- --- -- The birria taco craze feels like where rolled ice cream was about 6 months before there was a rolled ice cream shop within any given 2.4 mile stretch in the U.S. I never heard of birria as of a few weeks ago and now it's quickly becoming the next hot trend. I actually tried some when I first discovered them, but was actually pretty disappointed. There was just this weird flavor to them that I was not expecting, which bummed me out because they looked so amazing. But since that time, I've heard so many people talking about them that I was determined to give them a second shot from a different business. That brought me to Muchachas. We were nearby at dinner time, so I took advantage of that opportunity and swung by Armature Works. I have to say - not only do I now love birria tacos, but I think these were the single best thing I've eaten from Armature Works to-date! Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the Quesatacos, but I ordered one of each of the street tacos and thought those were great too! The street corn was awesome. It had a little kick to it (only those very sensitive to heat would think it's too spicy). The guacamole that came with the chips and guac with just a tad on the bland side, but that's really the only feedback that wasn't overwhelming positive from me.
