This is not the place to have a group larger than 6 people as their space is very narrow but long. The food is amazing and authentic. You can order anything on the menu and it will not disappoint. It is family friendly and the parking is super limited. The staff is warm and friendly. They always have recommendations. Went recently and regret to say I will not be returning. The tamales were terrible and to add onto it the service is mid. The ladies should be trained on elaborating if meals come with bread or not. Food looks good but lacks of flavor. I ordered pupusas and they were so flat I ate one because I was super hungry. But not much flavor. Very little filling. We also ordered a caldo which was small plate for the price. And the yuca with chicharrón again no flavor and more salad than meat and yuca. read more

I'm obsessed with garnachas after trying out Garnachas and Beer on a whim when over off of the 405 in 2017. I crave them all the time so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I could get garnachas delivered to me at work off of the 5 freeway in Sun Valley from Uber Eats. What was even better was how amazing the food was! I ordered garnachas (obviously) and beef Tacos Fritos (basically taquitos). I have no idea how but both arrived still crunchy. In fact the garnachas stayed crispy when I brought them home a couple hours later. The garnachas curtido (not sure if that's what it's called in Guatemala but it reminds of the Salvadorian slaw) was so yummy and so was the red sauce. I wish I had a little more in my to go order and if I was there I'd totally ask for more with how good both were. Lots of flavor and some heat but not enough to destroy your tongue. The tacos Fritos was also very yummy. Meat was tender and flavorful and the green salsa- wow. I ended up adding the red sauce for the garnachas as well as the green sauce- which was bright from the tomatillos and packed a good amount of heat. All went great with the red onions and lettuce. Definitely going to plan to have an Uber Eats meal delivered to my work per paycheck for a while. read more

Came with a friend, service was nice, parking was limited and it was very busy. Guatemalans seem to love this place but regrettably my food was just plain bland! Had to add salt and pepper to the steak just to make palatable. The beans were the best part of the plate. I won't fully judge the place for one place but I wasn't impressed after one visit. Might be willing to come back, or I might be forced to come back and hopefully the next visit will be a much better experience overall. Great people there but I'm there for food! read more

I love this place and can't believe it was my first time here! I'm Guatemalan-American and extremely proud of my roots, so when I found out there was a Guatemalan restaurant near me, I had to try it! The inside was very nostalgic for me. It reminded me of my childhood and the pride my mother has for the motherland. Just like that, the decor made me feel at home. The food was good, only bad part was the steak is a bit fatty/ chewy for my liking but overall I enjoyed my Plato tipico. The Guatemalan flags were literally the cherry on top. They are quite busy on the weekend, so be prepared to wait a bit. They managed to seat us in less than 15 minutes. I thought the American breakfast was a great idea and my husband opted to try it, but you can never go wrong with an original meal aka Plato tipico. ;) Don't forget to support local vendors. :D I can't wait to come back and try the whole menu. read more

This place never lets me down! I came here for the first time about 2 months ago when they were offering dining inside. This time around they had a really nice outside seating all inside a tent. The waitress was beyond any restaurants expectation and clearly cared for our experience!! She was very attentive and making sure the food was up to our expectation. I ordered their Antojito macha and boy was I I'm for a Guatemalan ride full of typical food. I literally felt as if I was eating in Guatemala It offered a little sampler of the most well known Guatemalan typical food. I took my grandmother and she 100% approved of their delicious and authentic food. Their garnachas and tamales de Chipilin are a super B and strongly recommend. Horrible service from some guy making drinks. We had asked for a table & when one of the nice servers told us to wait while she went to go put 2 tables together for our large group. Some A**hole manager or bartender told us in an angry / disrespectful tone telling us to wait outside. Decided to take my fam & Grandma out to dinner and again, I had an awesome experience. The only thing I will say they need to improve on is how fast they take customer orders. Waited for about 25 minutes after we got our drinks before someone decided to stop by and ask for our order. The food was delicious and the Jugos naturales were very tasty. We began with 10 pieces of Garnachas and ended up sharing an item called "Plato Mucha"! This came with Our house sampler platter consisting of carne asada, carne adobada, chile relleno, longaniza, guacamole, rice, refried beans & fried plantains. Served with house-made tortillas. I am Guatemalan and they had all the great food I grew up eating at home. They even had Mixas . It was too hot when I went so next time I go back I will did have to try the atole de elote and get me a torrejas. the pepian and chuchito were so good! They even give handmade tortillas. First, the wait time was ridiculously long. We stood outside in the hot sun for 29 minutes. When we finally got inside, it was tiny, which explained the wait. Once we got our food, the meat was gross and even undercooked. It was so bad it literally made me run to the restroom to throw up. Terrible customer service! I would never recommend this place to you. They ignore you and it doesn't matter if you get there first they still give the table to someone they know. This is a great spot for authentic Guatemalan food. We order form them often including Thanksgiving and Christmas food is great, what is unfortunate is the attitude of some of the staff, they have the "You'll get your food whenever we feel you should get it!" attitude and if you complain about something you'll get the "it is what it is" response. Ex: we ordered ahead of time for our Christmas feast, I specifically told them I needed by a specific time and left a deposit. On the day of the did not have the order ready one of them stated they lost the order another stated the ovens were not working and it will take an hour to get the food. An hour past and I called and again they asked for what is was I ordered and they said "oh its not ready yet give us 30 min. For an order that was supposed to be done at 2pm I received it a 6pm and their attitude was "well we can't do anything about it" I asked for at least a partial credit do to their delay which they refused. At this point we are debating ordering from them again. read more
