The special-a fried bologna sandwich with a moon pie and a natty light
    Sami G.

What a nice unexpected delight of a place! Total hole in the wall place in a good way!! Stopped in for lunch and were happily surprised with delish food! We both opted for the daily special which was a fried bologna sandwich. It came with chips, a moon pie and a "natty light". The sandwich was a nice thick slice of bologna that was fried perfectly. We had a super friendly bartender and def recommend stopping in there!

Great place to hang out! Laid back atmosphere. Open late and the owner is great!! We will stop by on our next visit.

They always want to sit in the Raccoon Cove bar out back, which has a great fireplace for cold nights and a food stand that brings the local raccoons by for dinner. You can also watch them from the sunroom-style dining room if you'd rather stay inside. The indoor decor is fun too (Ace Ventura would call it a lovely room of death) with all the animal trophies on the walls. The pork ribeye over sweet potato mash isn't going to win any beauty contests, but don't judge that book by its cover because it was very tender and delicious. It's definitely a new favorite! The Steak Au Poivre is another one with a sauce that elevated an already well-cooked (but not well-done!) steak. My wife's Seafood Alfredo was wonderful, including the bites she let me steal, and the Lowcountry chowder was excellent. Her other favorites are the Filet Neptune and the Mahi-Mahi. The Thai BBQ ribs are also a big hit with the family, but somehow I still haven't gotten to try one. Next time. This is the "good" Joe's. They don't serve hamburgers here, but they do know how to cook a steak. The food is excellent, the service has always been good, and they've nailed the local upscale-casual restaurant and bar vibe. The only real downside is the tiny parking lot. You can park at the ice cream place too (overflow lot), but Joe really needs to make friends with the beachwear megastore next door because their back lot always seems to have plenty of empty spaces!

We told them we were ordering off the menu as the buffet did not look or smell appetizing while we were passing and I'm not a fan of buffets in general. It took forever to place our orders or get waters. I asked for coffee, the machine was broken so no coffee. We ordered and got our food and then finally after another reminder, we got our glasses of waters. I had an early riser with ham and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs looked anemic but tasted okay. The ham were sad and thin akin to a deli slice but maybe just very slightly thicker than what you would put in a sandwich. It was dry. Regret quickly settled when the dish was delivered to the table. At least the potatoes were okay. They weren't hashbrowns though as the menu said. To sum it all up, slow to average service, not really much of a view even though it's close to the water, and food was disappointing.

We each got the Mama Todd's dinner plate. Loved everything on it, & I asked for sweet butter to slather on my cornbread + half and half of the Sweet Tea. I also got the Lima beans and mac and cheese for the side. Service was pretty quick for a party of five, and we were seated within 20-30 min at most. Grabbed a Pinot Grigio and a beer at the side bar while we waited. They brought out hush puppies when we sat down, & those lasted about 30 seconds at our table :) The staff was simply wonderful; We also asked the hostess to help us take a family pic outside before we left. They have a cute shop where you can pick up a t-shirt as a souvenir- which I had to do because I LOVE THIS PLACE. If this was close to me, I would eat here every weekend. The prices are reasonable, the food is wonderful, and the staff was kind and hospitable. There are many places to eat in Myrtle Beach, but we love supporting local businesses that are family owned. If you're craving fried chicken or country fried steak with all the fixin' on the side, look no further. Fantastic place for locals and tourists. Cheers

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.

Lovely restaurant and the cocktails are tasty and creative. We had the Lavender margarita which was very good. We had a variety of the tapas offerings and were pleased with each one. The chorizo dip was somewhat overcooked, and we ate it all. The meatballs, potstickers, and flatbread did not disappoint. It's a nice place to take out of town guests for a change of pace.
