We stopped here for dinner on a Tuesday night AROUND 6:30PM. We were greeted and seated right away and told our server this was our first visit after hearing recommendations from several people I work with. My son asked if he could sample the Woodchuck Winter Chill and she told us they didn't have it, as my son turned around and pointed to the tap on the bar. She said she "would see what she could do as it depends on the bartender working". He did get the sample and ordered a tall and was told they only have one size. We ordered an appetizer of potato skins and said we needed time to look through the menu. Reading the family history paragraph, I asked the server where Stoney's Liquor Store was and she said "probably on the north side but she has only lived in Indy for about a year and haven't read that paragraph" We lived several years on the east side and the paragraph stated it was located on the east side, which is why I asked. She came back a few minutes later to take our order and immediately interrupted me saying she forgot to put in our appetizer order and left. Came back a few minutes later with our appetizer saying she must have put it in after all. My cheeseburger came out with a side of pickles only. Apparently you have to ask for the "deluxe" with lettuce, tomato and onion, even though it is no extra charge. Our server told us it's because they are trying to keep their waste costs down. My son's sweet potato fries had a bunch of brown sugar sprinkled on them and his Rueben tasted like it had "flavored" sauerkraut. He ended up only eating half of it and none of the fries. His fiancé ordered the Gouda Turkey on Pretzel Panini and said it was very good. We had to ask for refills and had to flag our sever down once as she was long gone after dropping off our meals. They weren't overly busy when we arrived but it is a very small place and filled up shortly thereafter; however, there were plenty of servers. I was surprised at how small a place it is and while they had TV's, they weren't placed where we could see them very well. The bar was very small as well. Bring an "Irish" pub, I was surprised there weren't any "Irish" fare on the menu...i.e. Irish stew. Shepherd's Pie, etc. All in all, we tried it...won't be back. Very disappointed in the service (especially after saying it was our first visit after the recommendation of several friends). read more

Been there 5 or 6 times. Service has been excellent with Barb being the best. One of our waitress I believe came from outer space because she had no clue what she was doing. All the food was great with the exception of the fish and cheese Steak. I might try the cheese steak again only because the picture looks so good read more

A co-worker and I cashed our checks after work and we decided to get something to eat. We were both craving steaks and some random guy named "Bill" recommended this place. He called it McGuilvery's so when we pulled up and saw it was Murphy's we should have known it was a red flag. He carried on about how good the steak was and after all this was "Bill". I could have overlooked the bad service if the steak was good but it was not at all. It was terrible. It looked as if it was pan fried and it was over cooked. We both asked medium rare and we both got well done. It was ruined. How is it that a place that is known for steaks had no idea how to cook one. Two thumbs down!!! read more

Crab cakes are not crab, imitation meat. I had pizza and the crab cakes and my waitress never refilled my wife's or my drink. Only 40% full and the staff are hanging out talking while we never got refills. The pizza was good but that's about it. read more

Four of us went for a birthday lunch the service was exceptional and the food was great. There were Three different meals ordered and all three were excellent. None of us had been there before but we definitely will be going back. Our server was Amy-she was attentive and got all the orders correct. We decided to check this place out since it was really close to our house and we were craving burgers. We came in at open on Sunday and it was clean and the hostess was welcoming. We sat in a nice booth by the window and were greeted by our server Cindy, promptly. She was friendly and attentive. We decided to start with the fried mushroom appetizer and boy were they DELICIOUS! We then ordered the classic burgers and they were good, not amazing but good. The beef was not super flavorful like I expect in a good burger but on a scale of 1-10, the burger was about a 6.5. The presentation was marvelous and the only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that the flavor of the burger wasn't quite "knock it out of the park". We will be back though but likely will try a panini or something else. read more

We went here last night with 12 people met at 6pm. I did call around 5pm and they had tables set up for us when we got there. Susan waited on us very attentive . Started coming here a few months ago. Now we come at least once a week. We usually get the soft pretzels as an appetizer which never disappoint! Always hot and fresh. I've also had the fried mushrooms and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. Both were also delicious. The shrimp are huge! I've tried a few things as entrees. My usual is the chicken tenders. Although it's under appetizers I get it as my main dish. They are so delicious. The batter they are fried in tastes homemade. I dip them in their ranch which I also think is homemade. I pair the chicken tenders with their coleslaw which is good, but drenched in dressing. I've also had their teriyaki salmon. It's a bit expensive, but worth the price. It's cooked perfectly. One item I didn't enjoy quite as much was their steak. I had the New York strip and it seemed like low quality meat. I've also had their meatloaf on special which was decent, but just average to me. Overall it's a great place to eat, drink, hang out, and watch sports. The staff is always friendly and service is good. It's a small , local restaurant and bar that never disappoints! read more

This is the 3rd time in a year and a half I have been there and each time the service is extremely slow. I understand the time to cook/prepare, but we finally had to walk out after 15 mins of our server not even taking our order. It was 1:30. There were still about 7 tables open so they weren't swamped. We tried several times to get out waitress's attention to which she promptly kept on walking. Not even an acknowledgement. If you want a lunch crowd, get more or better wait staff. Locals seemed to be there. Food was fair. Turkey for my husband's turkey Reuben and my turkey panini was that cheap pressed turkey roll stuff. If you don't mind that kind of turkey then you'll be be fine (my husband and I don't care for it).
