3.5 stars for this cute little eatery at the steps of the LAG hospital means our team can easily run across the street while on call. MX 30 30 prices are pricey but accessible for tacos, burritos, and the works-- they have both a breakfast and lunch menu and their various egg types are delicious. Their complementary chip appetizers keep you crunching as you wait for the food to arrive freshly cooked and plated. Definitely a hole in the wall vibe but doing well likely due to its proximity to the hospital. Service here is always wholesome and they have restrooms outside. Grateful to my neurosurgery chiefs for feeding us hungry young'uns.

Another good meal at MX 30 30. I ordered the Plato Mexicano (Asada, Carnitas, Chicken 1 Taco Dorado, 1, Rice and Beans). The dish was excellent. All three proteins were nicely seasoned, and the flavors were on point. I'm currently on a crunchy taco kick, so I also had an Asada Crunchy Taco. It was very tasty, as are the Carne Asada Soft Tacos. I've been here a few times now and I've never left disappointed. The service is very friendly and minus the difficult parking situation, you can't go wrong eating at MX 30 30. I will be back.

Saw this place being hyped on tik tok and had to check it out! First off loved loved LOVED the inside of this restaurant. Although it's small, it has a vast amount of Mexican culture incorporated into the interior design. I loved the appreciated and recognition for Mexican figures. The service was great! We were attended to very quickly and enjoyed our meals. This was such a good comfort meal that I would love to have more often. If you're in the area and want to catch up with someone this is a perfect spot. The serving sizes are pretty big in my opinion! We had to take ours to go afterwards.

This is my 3rd time coming here. The first 2 times I had an Asada burrito. Just meat, cheese, tomatoes and rice. They were delicious. Today I decided to try some tacos. I said to myself, that if the food was right Today. I would post. They did NOT disappoint I had a chicken, cheese and tomato taco. Also, 1 asada, cheese and tomato taco. They were the bomb. I think the chicken was tastier. Although I have NOT sat down and enjoyed my meals. Don't get me wrong, the place is always clean and the service is excellent. I work nearby and I am always pressed for time. The waitress I believe is Mirela. At least that's what is says on the receipt. She gives excellent customer service. She makes you feel welcome.

Been wanting to try this spot. We ordered the Camorones de ajo and potato flautas. Delicious. Shrimp cooked perfectly and with the best garlic/lemon flavor. The salsas were excellent . The green sauce was divine and the salsa negro was so good. It was delivered but next time we will sit inside to enjoy that cozy atmosphere.

First timer today. 1. Got a wet birria burrito (no rice no beans - trying to stay low carb) - it was the best burrito I've had in a long time. 2. The birria was tender and melted in my mouth - the sauces - the salsa - just everything was a symphony and worked so well together. 3. The waitress on Sunday 5/25 at 11am ish was the nicest, sweetest, most accommodating person. She was a delight and made the experience that much better. Can't wait to go back and enjoy myself all over again.

First time here. Parking can be tricky, it is on a very busy street, convenient if you're at the hospital. Very friendly service, seating inside and out. Clean restaurant. Large menu, with lots of options. Portions were a little small, but the flavor was amazing. Highly recommend and will return.

Was at USC hospital and found this place on Yelp. It was the closest restaurant around without having to drive. The restaurant was very clean and had nice decor. Service staff was very friendly and quick. I ordered the hard shell tacos with shredded beef. I liked how crispy the taco shell was and the seasoning on the shredded beef. The rice and beans were nicely seasoned as well. Not salty whatsoever and the beans had a nice consistency. I was looking for more of a hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant but this did the job. For a nice sit down restaurant, the pricing wasn't too bad at all. I do wish their salsa was spicer but overall not bad.

So this gem has been here for a long time, I've driven by it many times and had not realize it. It's directly across from La General hospital, very simple spot and very authentic. The burrito was all I had, and might I say, for a big eater like I am, it filled me up! The burrito was not only big, it was flavorful. The sauce they provided were delicious! Must have when wanting Mexican burrito in the area. The service was outstanding, they were fast, prompt and polite, as customer service should be! The place was not too big however it will fit a good amount of people, inside looks like you're in a native town of their own and makes you feel like you're in Mexico somewhere. Music was nice, subtle and not too loud . I will be coming back for more !!

I returned for lunch and this time I had chile relleno plate. Chile Relleno I was so impressed. The beans and rice were both really well seasoned and tasty, this time. Last time the rice was a little bland. During this visit they made it with enough spices and salt; they were very satisfying. The chile was smothered and stuffed with melty cheese. The outside was broiled a little bit. Yum! The salsa used was good. It is a strong flavor and rich. The egg batter held up well and wasn't too greasy. The chips and salsa before hand were fresh and delicious. I had an agua de melon what was house made. I'm so glad it was house made and I could taste the freshness, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Too much added sugar for me, although I know some people love love love sugar. Loved my lunch. I want to try the menudo next.

This place has a high rating on yelp and I don't get it. We stopped by on way home from hospital. The horchata was good but served warm, we had to ask for a glass of ice. I ordered the taquitos plate, it was okay. I mean the food wasn't anything special. Service was fast and friendly. I probably won't return. read more

The only place I know that serves Pozole all week long! The customer service is great & I highly recommend the guacamole & chips, chilaquiles & of course the Pozole red sauce in pork! Wash it all down with horchata! read more

Located right across the street from the LAC + USC hospital. It doesn't stand out much and you might easily miss it but this place is great. The food is delicious. Only took away one star because the service can be a little slow at times. Definitely recommend trying the tortas! read more

I came here on Saturday dec 29 at around noon. Every person in our group ordered a different dish three breakfast a lunch and an appetizer. The breakfast dishes are smothered in sauces that have to come from a can. They are gross. Basically the huevos rancheros los huevos divorciados and the chilaquiles were inedible. I ordered sopes and they were fine but not great. All the dishes are served with chorizo refríed beans that are not good. The only thing good is the cafe de olla, it was delicious but everything else wasn't. read more

This place was so yummy yum yum. The green wet burrito with al pastor was so yummy. I had two tacos with extra onions. The carnitas one was better but I enjoyed both. The girl who works here is super nice. The place has a window seat and then maybe 4 other tables a very small place. We went around 5 so it wasn't quite so busy but it filled up quickly. They have plenty of to go orders while dining here. read more

This place is hit or miss. A few of their dishes are mediocre at best and few are good. They seem to shine when it comes to their spicy cream sauce. Like the food is ok but put this cream sauce and you will be blown away. In reality it's ok. read more

I get everything is getting expensive with inflation but cmon, if I spend over $40 can I get free chips atleast? Also if I request a burrito can I customize it? I'll pay extra, that's not the issue, the issue is that I've always customized my burritos to my liking and now I simply can not because the daughter is managing the restaurant now.... Location is the only reason I'll be back, but please someone tell the OWNER to allow us to customize our favorite dish to OUR (CUSTOMER) likings. read more

Second round at this wonderful restaurant. Today I ordered something differently because I needed to know if I was sure about this place. I don't get eat meat so I decided to get the green chilaquiles with rice and bean and am egg on top. And let me say so so delicious! The green sauce was so good. Not salty or acidic like others I've tried. And the rice and beans were perfe toy seasoned and cooked. My husband got a burrito mojado (hangover munchies) with shredded chicken in red sauce. It was actually very very good and huge. And it was less than 6 dollars! I also ordered the cafe de jolla. The best coffee I've ever had. It was just perfect. Reminded me of the coffee my grandma made when I was younger! This place is so family oriented that you just feel so at home! Roman was our server today. Super sweet attentive and he helped me with my order (wasn't dissapointed clearly). This restaurant is small but definitely a gem you should check out read more

This place is what the definition of "whole in the wall" is. But I say that in the most flattering way possible. They have an excellent menu with many Mexican food delicacies and staples. I had the verde chicken enchiladas which were very flavorful and the chicken was cooked just right. The restaurant is not in the best neighborhood so I wouldn't necessarily recommend making a special trip to visit the restaurant but if you ever find yourself in the area I recommend eating here. If I am ever in the area I definitely will be back. read more

Seriously AMAZING! I love this place...always trying something new. All of their meats for the tacos are outstanding, shredded beef, al Pastor YUM!! Guacamole Is fresh and just the right amount of flavor. For a sweet tooth try the flan/chocolate layered cake. Tha flan is smooth and beneath it the chocolate sponge cake is soaked and juicy. Hard to explain...just try it. AMAZING SERVICE!! I work near here...dangerous. The price and the food is RIGHT! read more

They came to our campus today at Compton College and I was absolutely blown away of the authentic Mexican cuisine. I'm still at Ahh, for words to describe the flavors I've just experienced. The crazy thing is that I live 1 mile from them and never even heard of them . Well it was a blessing to know that I have a excellent restaurant now close to me that I cannot wait, to experience. So disappointed! I've been eating here on and off for the pass 10 years and I've noticed the guacamole has had less and less avocado in it. Came here while visiting family at the hospital. They were open on Thanksgiving! C'mon, how awesome is that?! I called the order in (three different burritos), and the guy on the phone had suggestions on how he likes them. Done. They took awhile to cook, maybe 25min for a simple order. I'll let 'em slide since it's a holiday, and it is a small, family place. Food was spectacular. Really, much better than I was expecting. Parents insisted I go back a few days later, and have been raving since. We usually go to Manuel's, but this is now on our radar, especially or their chorizo burrito. I wasn't so into the chicharron; too fatty, no crunch. I was surprised at the whole old time LA vibe to the place. They really played up times when LA was a pueblo. But still plenty of modern charms like an energy drink fridge. Looks like they mostly do to-go orders. Call ahead and pick up. The guy there also recommended I call and let them know when I'm at the hospital since they deliver there for free. UPDATE: We called in an order, waiting at the hospital. Took only 25min for a really big order around lunch time. They do need the building address, but kept me in the loop. Really enjoyed the tacos this time! Will be ordering with them again. read more

Okay..I love this place, their salsas are GREAT...they have these amazing pumpkin seed sauce enchiladas that are wonderful. I've never had anything like them anywhere else (but then again I haven't been to Mexico). I gave them 3 stars because they take FOREVER to bring out the food....its a real problem. I love the family that owns the place, they are so cool, the food is great but they often leave me waiting to have my order taken and the food takes an eternity to come out...so WARNING...you'll be sitting a long time...waiting...if you go there....womp womp read more

Not sure why people rave about this place. The food looks good but taste is average. Rice was bland and the beans taste like the beans out of the bean dip can. The Carne asada was good and the carnitas were good. Outside of that there was not much to impress me. The waitress was nice but she messed our order up twice. read more

You know what they say about holes in walls restaurants - 30-30 meets expectations. It has great food, great but tiny inside, rich ambiance that you wouldn't really be able to tell from the outside. Right across from LACUSC Medical Center so convenient to grab a quick late lunch. Chicken tortilla soup was savory with plenty of tortilla strips to add texture. Carne asada tacos were simple but delicious. Can't wait to try this place next time I'm in the area. read more

I was craving some tamales and had an hour to spare before I had to pick up my bf. So I decided to stay nearby his jobsite and explore this little hole-in the-wall. When I walked in I was completely surprised! Like, I literally smiled walking in. It was colorful, full of awesome little photo frames aligned randomly on the wall all of famous Mexican actresses/actors from all kinds of eras.( Some would say it has vintage-look to it). And few splashes of color. It definitely made me happy to walk in on something that represent my culture. I was greeted by two ladies, in Spanish. Which I loved! Very friendly. I let them know it was my first time and they were very welcoming. I ordered an horchata, two tamales (1 de raja con queso the other red/pork) and a torta de milanesa. (Before you judge me I gave a tamal and the other half of my torta to my bf lol) I was impressed with the quickness, service, and quality of my food. Will definitely recommend and go back! Thank you! Se me antojaban unos tamales y tenía una hora libre antes de que tenía que recoger a mi novio. Así que decidí permanecer cerca de su lugar de trabajo y explorar este pequeño restaurante. Cuando llegué me quedé completamente sorprendida! Literalmente sonreí al entrar, no penze que este lugar estaria tan suave. Estaba lleno de color y de cuadros impresionantes con fotos en la pared de famosas actrices / actores mexicanos de todas las clases de épocas. Definitivamente me hizo feliz de ver cosas que representan mi cultura. Fui recibida por dos mujeres, en español. Muy amigable. The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.

I've been here a few times recently. The first couple times everything was pretty great, the last time things were a bit iffy. The guacamole the first couple times was fresh and chunky and flavorful, the last time it came warm and flavorless. The green tea shake I had was as thin as milk the last time whereas the first few times it was thick like a shake. They also mixed up two of our orders but the food was still good. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that they are training new staff possibly or maybe it's better to come at night which is when we came the first few times. As Jorge stated though they may just have a worse cook and staff during their lunch rush, everything was actually a little less flavorful, it is a bit hit or miss. read more
