6/23/10 My lovely sister and I came here to be pampered-- she treated us both to a mani/pedi. She kept telling me to get flowers on my big toes. I balked at the extra fee ($5 per toe? Best massage chair ever! Most are merely a vibrating chair, and in this one, I felt like I got an actual human massage. Pedicure-$35.00 include parfin dip, massage chair, calf lotion massage, exfoliant for heels, and WINE!! (or soda/water if your prefer) The pedicure has already lasted two weeks and is still going strong. Also had my eyebrows corrected from a lousy job I had previously, and they look great. read more

This was a horrible experience. The older lady doing my pedicure was rude. Apparently she must be used to doing pedicures on perfect feet. I had one ingrown toenail and she chastised me and clearly was talking about me to the man doing my friends toes. I actually considered walking out. After 15 minutes of talking and laughing, yes laughing, she finally let it go. I felt like I was Elaine in the "Seinfeld" episode on nail salons. I have had way better pedicures with polite, nice techs. I told a few friends who agreed the service was very rude there. I would never return. ETA: Just wanted to add that my big toe was very painful for SIX days. Six. Plus she cut it at extreme angles on the sides. After some research *THAT* is what promotes ingrown toenails. I went in for the Monday-Thursday special of mani/pedi for $35. The salon was quite busy but the staff made a strong effort to accommodate as many people as possible. My friend and I were quickly seated and our pedicures began. One nail tech asked us after we sat down if we wanted drinks: we got diet coke but I saw they served white wine as well as water. A gentleman named Tam was doing my pedicure, and he was very gentle and quick. During the exfoliation, I got a little ticklish, but he was very skillful to gently trim and file my nails and massage the feet and calves. Due to the number of customers, we had to wait a few minutes for our manicures. After around 5 or so minutes, a nail tech came and put a cream on our fingers, put our hands in plastic bags, and then in hand warmers. We hung out for around 10 minutes like that. One gentleman came to take the warmers off; he took the plastic off my hands and then turned around to do my friend's manicure. I waited so long with wet fingers that I finally dried them myself on a towel so I could use my phone. Tam returned to put my feet in one more soak. After another 5 or 10 minutes, a lady comes to do my nails. She seems rushed but I attributed that to the busy salon. She cut my cuticles, trimmed my nails, filed and buffed. Once my feet were dried off, polish was applied, and then back up to my manicure. The lady (I didn't catch her name) was good, but I wish she had waited a few moments between coats. We were then seated at the drying station. Even after 2 cycles, my nails were getting nicked when I got my keys or fished my phone out of my purse. The total time of our visit was coming onto 2 hours. I don't frequently get my nails done professionally, so this was like a rare pampering; for all that time spent, I do wish that I could walk out with dry nails with no risk of blemishing. Overall, the experience was very good; I hope to catch them on a slow day where time is better used. read more

Worst fill-in in my LIFE! PLEASE do NOT go here for a fill-in! Pedicure people seemed to be somewhat pleased...except for the one lady that walked out after sitting in the chair for 15 mins Horrible customer service all around! The nail tech was awful- I had extra gel on my nails that I could "pop" off around my cuticles and the "French white" is not uniform, and looks horrible. Not to mention the bubbles throughout my entire nails and $45 later....NEVER, NEVER again! They nickel and dime you for everything. I'm going to spend the rest of my day finding another nail salon that can fix what they messed up and trying to get the "extra" gel off my nails. read more

Went back again months later and still really enjoyed it. Got a manicure and a pedicure and they both look great. Very friendly staff. I messed up my nails a few times before leaving and he quickly fixed them. Great place! read more

A good pedicure is the best pick-me-up in my book. (Now give me a glass of wine with that foot massage and you can expect a marriage proposal out me!) Bella Spa is located right in Blakeney shopping center and is a clean nail salon with great service. They have plenty of massage chairs that are grouped in a big circle, making it the perfect place to go with a group (think bridal showers or prepping for a big event with your girlfriends). There is an excellent deal they run on weekdays that you can get a deluxe mani/pedi for $35, which includes the parafin dip, exfoliation, massage, etc, plus a beverage including wine! They always do a great job. My toes always look great for weeks after they're done, and most importantly, they do not skimp on the foot massage (hence the several proposals I may or may not have offered)! There have only been a few instances where I've had to wait a long time before being seated, but otherwise they're quick to have you pick out your colors (great selections of etsy and OPI) and get you into your massage chair. FYI, they take cards, but like many places only want the tip in cash. So be sure to stop by the ATM--they always earn a little extra for the excellent service! Ok, here it goes....I was attending an event last Saturday night and my friend, another male, was wearing open toed shoes. He suggested a mani / pedi and since I'm always open for an adventure I figured what the hay. We got a recommendation from a neighbor and set out for Blakeney. I am a happily married man, comfortable in myself so despite the ribbing from my friends I had a good experience here. We were welcomed at the front desk and ordered the "deluxe spa" mani pedi. We were offered a drink and escorted to a group of comfy massage chairs. Never before did I know what went on in these places, but it was pretty relaxing. Hot water foot bath and personal attention what could be better? The chairs were arranged in a big circle so you can see everyone else. My never attended to before feet and fingers left happy. The "wax" that they dipped my feet in was a little weird, but I guess it did some good :-) read more

Positively Awful. Unbelievably unprofessional. I will not be returning. When My Bella Spa first opened it quickly became my favorite place for mani/pedis because of the great atmosphere and service. Now the place feels like a chaotic assembly line where you wait until they get around to you, then you could have 2-4 techs working on your nails, and, to top it all off, it's a shoddy job that chips within 24 hrs. My last three visits (various times of day and days of the week, spread over the last three months) have been consistently poor. I thought it was a fluke, so I kept coming back for one more try...never again. This last visit was on a Monday evening around 5:30. I checked in and was told it would be 5-10 minutes before they could get to me. (No problem. They seemed steady, not super busy, with more techs than clients.) It all went downhill when they sat me down in the worn-out pedi chair: I was never offered a drink and the water in the foot bath got cold waiting the 30-35 minutes for a tech to begin. (I really needed a mani-pedi so I decided to hang in there anyway, hoping for the best.) I had no fewer than three techs working on me, off and on, over the course of the next hour and a half. (Working: a modern euphemism for coming and going occasionally, disappearing between every step, while talking to and about everyone else in the place. And really, an hour and a half for a basic mani/pedi?! With two techs, one for fingers & one for toes, as they have, I've been in and out in an hour, including drying time.) By the time I left, I'd wasted nearly two and a half hours for a job that (on my fingers) lasted less than 24 hours, several nails chipping by morning. To be fair, my toes were ok, just not great. (For reference, my last mani from Queen City Nails on South Blvd. lasted nearly a week before it began to chip. Too bad I'm not on that side of town more often or they would be my choice for future mani/pedis.) Save your time and your money and find someplace else for your next mani/pedi. read more

There are so many places you could go for such better treatment. I saw 3 different women. You get about a 9 second foot massafe withe spa pedicure. One woman was rude, the other two were fine, but treated me as if I were on a factory line. Go across the street or down the road. You will feel better about spending the money. read more

As a treat to my daughter, we decided to get our nails done today--Wow!! were we disappointed in this place! Staff is rude and does everything but throw towels at you!! No smile on their faces, even if you try to joke with them. One wonders if this is really a fancy sweat shop by the way owner dictates everything to the nail techs! Anyway, overpriced--$25 for a simple manicure is excessive and then when they don't even cover the nail right, I had to say something!! The experience was suppose to fun and rewarding to my daughter who is starting a new middle school, instead we were met with long faces and messed up nails! This place was hot and cold for me. I came here to get a pedicure and get a pink and white set put on. Loved the pedicure, hated the nail job. The day i came in it just so happened to be the receptionist's first day. She was clearly flustered and and had no clue about pricing. this was understandable ... what wasn't understandable was the owner yelling at her almost every five minutes in front of everyone. Not only was the owner yelling at her ... she was yelling at almost the entire staff. Yes it was busy when I went but still there has to be some level of professionalism. Guess who ended up doing my nails ... the owner. This was terrible because she was paying more attention to what was going on in the salon than to doing my nails (at one point she even yelled at someone mid nail file). Well, my nails turned out crappy (uneven and bumps in the gel) and I ended up going somewhere else the next day to fix them. The Pedicure on the other hand was much better, despite the yelling in the background. The pedicure area is set up like the "knights of the round table". All the massage pedi chairs are set up in a circular fashion vice a straight line like most places. This was neat as you got to watch other people get their pedis and its a perfect setup if you plan to have a pedi party with your girl/boyfriends. I wanted to take one of the massage chairs home with me it was so comfortable. Who knows, I could have came at the wrong time on a bad day for them but I can tell you I have not been back since and don't plan on visiting this place in the future. read more

Just moved here and I appreciate my old nail salon so much now. Was there a massage? It was so quick I don't remember. Dirty towel kept being used, wet and gross. Don't they know how to properly cut and file toenails? You have to go straight across, I thought that was standard knowledge among nail spas. Never had it any other way in California. Have been here a few times. The mani-pedi special is a good deal for the most part. There seems to be a lot of round robin going on during the treatment, wheras honestly I'd prefer to have the same person take care of everything. For some reason they decided to stop serving wine, which is a shame, as that helped me overlook the cleanliness, etc. In any case, I suppose since I was expecting wine and then couldn't have any it ruined the experience for me, which is a lot of what I feel that I am paying for - ambiance. I get great service at My Bella Spa and my nails always look professionally done, they do get busy so if you don't have much time just schedule an appointment but they welcome walk-ins just be prepared to wait sometimes, but its all definitely worth it! read more

Don't waste your time going to this salon. They leave you sitting in a pedicure/manicure chair for awhile. I should have just left when I was seated and the two employees were trash talking a customer that had just left. Unfortunately I made the mistake of staying. Manicure was rushed. I paid $10 extra for a manicure instead of plain gel polish (they advertise $20 gel polish on Friday's which is what I went for but somehow I ended up paying $30) and it definitely wasn't worth the extra money. The technician kept coughing on my hands and it was just all around terrible. Today has been a week since I got the gel done and my nails are already chipping. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. read more

I went to My Bella Spa yesterday evening and had one of the worst mani/pedi's that I've ever had! I was so disappointed at how much of an assembly line that I felt like I was on while there. I had three different techs work on me. My nails were filed crooked and the polish job was horrible! Polish all over my skin! So bad that I didn't even stay to let them dry. I walked out and wiped the polish off with a napkin so that I didn't make a mess in my car. 4 of us walked in for mostly manicures, although 1 in our party had a mani/pedi done. We expected to wait for a while b/c we didn't have appointments. But after we were finally taken, our hands were left soaking in the mitts for so long our fingers pruned up! Our nail tech (yes, our b/c she was doing both me and my mom @ the same time) kept leaving to do other things & when she finally came back & dried us off, someone came in for a waxing, she whispered something to her & then disappeared again (apparently to do the waxing!!) The same thing was happening to my sister who was getting the mani/pedi, her tech kept leaving to help other people.I eventually left out of frustration but my sister had no choice but to endure. The atmosphere was pretty decent and the staff was very friendly! I got the spa mani/pedi, which was only $45, a really great deal considering all of the massaging and primping they do. The only problem I had was with the actual polish job itself; I feel that they didn't push my cuticles back far enough, so now my nail polish looks a little rough around the edges. Horribly slow service. They don't even offer water. On top of which the old lady who cleaned my feet looked around talking to her peers more than concentrating on her job. A young girl did my color and you could tell she inexperienced....she put such thick coating of polish that in 1 hr my polish was already chipped off of several nails. The first time I got a wax here I said never again.. It was filthy, the employees were rude and act as if you are a bother to them. I only came back because I didn't have a lot of time to go to my usual place. Once again it was horrible..They had a grocery cart full of dirty towels in their waiting area in open view and the girl who took care of me couldn't crack a smile to save her life; She slapped on the wax and tore it off w/no concern whatsoever... I love this place. It's very clean and the staff is great. I started getting SNS a few months ago after my manicurist, Michelle, recommended it and my nails look amazing. I have never had nails so strong and so long. Michelle is the only one who does SNS there, so you have to make an appointment. I will definitely continue to go there every 3 weeks to get my nails done. read more

This location may be under new management as my receipt says VIP Nails. I went today and asked for the simple $35 mani/pedi. When I went to pay I was told I owed $45. When I told them I had asked for the $35 package they told me that they gave me the higher package so that is what I owed. Funny how that works!! When I had my mani done I had to pull my hand away as the technician almost clipped my skin with my nail. Then I was told to just sit and let my nails dry because their new drying fans had not come in. I have been going to this location for at least 3-4 years. Will not be going back. read more

This is my third time coming here and I've always thought this place was mediocre at best. I only came here out of sheer desperation for a much needed pedi and convenience. Never again. The people working here appear to be miserable and it shows in their work. The quality of the pedi is about a 4 out of 10. The water was scalding hot! Three people who came in after me all complained about the water temp. If you need a pedi, go to Zen Nails in Providence Promenade.
