First of all, the service was amazing. The waitress was so patient, kind, and understanding with us because we were on a bit of a time crunch. Secondly, the food was ready so fast that I was actually stunned. Not only that, the food was ready in a crazy short time but they did not sacrifice quality for the sake of time which I really appreciate. We ordered the pancakes combo with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. And then we also got a plate of chicken and waffles. To start, the fried chicken was so crispy and crunchy on the exterior and the inside was so juicy and moist and full of flavor. Im not personally a big fan of chicken as a protein but this was amazing and definitely almost made me change my opinion on chicken as a whole. Secondly, the waffles were so crisp yet soft, it was such a perfect delicate balance of texture that I really enjoyed. I'm also not a big fan of sausage because processed meats like salami and hot dogs usually scare me. BUT, the sausage was honestly super good it did change my mind on sausage as a whole. The scrambled eggs were so soft and fluffy and the flavor on its own, it really spoke for itself. I felt like it was a good example of when chefs let the ingredients speak for themselves. Because I usually will add pepper and hot sauce to my hash browns and eggs but it really did not need it. Everything was already super flavorful and well seasoned. It was amazing, I actually have no negative comments for the food whatsoever. The ambiance itself was just a simple diner vibe where everybody is chatty within their own groups and it's very, I wanna say comfortable and welcoming kind of vibe where it feels like people are friendly and just happy to be there. I absolutely adore the aesthetics of all the decorations on the wall, this restaurant definitely had a theme in mind and executed it well. I'm not sure how to describe it fully but it was very cool and definitely sparks a lot of good talking points. Overall, this is my second time here and I am happy to say I will be coming back here as well. This might be my new favorite breakfast diner

Great food. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Not chewy or rubbery. My only complaint is that the bottle of ketchup was not very clean. I look at the other tables and they were the same. No one wipes them down after customers use them.

Brunch at My Kitchen was a bit of a mixed bag, so I'd give it about 3.5 stars. The caramel milkshake was creamy, but no taste of caramel. The crab cake benedict had nice flavor with a smooth hollandaise, but a bit too heavy for me. The Denver omelet was hearty and satisfying. I actually liked the white gravy sauce on top, it gave it an extra richness that worked well. Overall, cozy spot with potential, just not quite a full 4-star experience for me.

One weekend, my partner and I were feeling too lazy to make breakfast, so we decided to eat out instead. We originally planned to go to a different restaurant, but they were closed for remodeling. In a bit of a rush, I checked Yelp and found this place with an overall rating of four stars, which made us eager to give it a try. The place was clean, and overall a nice place for a meal. We decided to share a Waffle Egg Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious! Instead of the typical English muffins, the dish used a waffle as the base. One half of the waffle had a perfectly poached egg on top, which was wonderfully runny. Rich, creamy hollandaise sauce was drizzled over the egg--so tasty! The other half of the waffle was placed alongside seasoned country potatoes, which were exceptionally well-seasoned and the best I've ever had. I believe this dish might have been a special, as I can no longer find it on the regular menu on their website.

My fiancé has been wanting to try this place forever but I've been hesitant because of the negative reviews. Anddd they were right. We came in at 10:30am and were seated pretty quickly but then there was a line right after we sat. After being seated no one came by to take our order. Servers would walk by and we'd try to flag them down and they'd walk right by us. After 20 minutes, we finally went to the front to ask to order. Someone else also had to go ask. Tables that came after us got their orders taken quickly though. I dont know why our two tables were completely ignored. When the food came out, it was piping hot but it was just okay. I got an eggs benedict that was supposed to come with fruits and they didn't give me fruits. The hollandaise sauce was super sour. The hashbrown was crunchy though. Prices are on par with Bill's cafe, which imo is expensive, considering the nonexistent service. After we were done eating, we tried to flag someone down to pay. Again, no one would stop. I guess they didn't wanna be paid. I had to go to the front again to ask to be paid. If you're like us and have been hesitant to try My kitchen, don't do it.

My Kitchen was pretty full when we arrived. It wasn't clear if it was seat yourself or wait to be seated so we stood awkwardly at the front for a bit. There were two tables available that needed to be cleared and cleaned first. The menu is full with lots of popular options. We went with chicken friend steak and eggs, waffle Benedict, and Irish benefit. Coffee refills came but were a tad slow. But they were pretty busy. The dining area is a circle with booths all around. The food was good! We'll probably be back.

Cute little breakfast spot. I've been here before but it was first time with my toddler. She liked her food and I loved my skillet. I would definitely get that again. The only thing what was not my favorite is the bathroom. You have to go down a hallway close the the kitchen. Other than that service was good and decent prices.

Met up with a friend for brunch. Luckily she recommended this spot. I love supporting local restaurants. Upon entering we were greeted and shown to a table. They were busy, but lucky for us we got these before the huge morning rush arrived. We were seated at a booth and provided with drinks right away. They have an extensive menu and I love that you can change your toast for pancakes. I ordered the veggie omelet but asked if they could make it a scramble and they did. I paired it with their potatoes and chose pancake as the option. My friend ordered the pancake combo. We enjoyed our drinks, coffee and fresh OJ while we waited. The dining room is not huge but they had plenty of space for you to not feel like everyone was part of your conversation. Plus they had booths which I love! The food came out and it was perfectly cooked, as some places tend to overcook scrambles. The pancakes was probably the best part, perfectly cooked, and fluffy. If you're looking for a local brunch spot I highly recommend them. I will be back for sure and perhaps become a regular.

Solid 3 1/2 stars for my first visit to My-Kitchen. I have a friend who has eaten there multiple times, and I joined her recently to check it out. Apparently, My-Kitchen either has new ownership or management and underwent a facelift. It looks nice and clean with 14 booths. Think family-owned diner open for breakfast and lunch from 7:30 am-2:00 pm. I don't know if they were short-staffed, but they only had one server while we were there and everything took a while (we didn't get our drinks until shortly before our food came out). My friend tried the breakfast enchiladas (3 corn tortillas, egg, chorizo, ranchera sauce, Jack cheese, & avocado) with home fries. She liked it. I opted for the Joe's Special (ground beef, spinach, egg, green onion, & mushrooms) with hashbrowns and pancakes. This was the first time I'd had Joe's special w/green onions vs yellow. I kind of liked the difference. The pancakes were good, and I really liked the crispy hashbrowns. It was better than I anticipated from looking at the previous restaurant's photos. I feel good about going back. Next time I'll try their chicken and waffles.

Food was terrible. Ask for corn beef hash got chucks of corn beef in a bowl. Got potatoes pancakes which came with honey mustard and gravy. Gross. Should have had sour cream. Had to flag down my server to get my orange juice i ordered. Place is under new management which is City Dinner.

I came here randomly in the evening because I heard from another diner called City Diner that this Diner was actually open late at night! Apparently they're owned by the same people now. I ended up getting a country fried steak and I honestly quite liked it! They had a baked potato option but it could not be fulfilled so they made my fries into a baked potato. We also had the chance to get menudo! It was pretty good! Like in terms of authenticity? A 7 out of 10. The prime rib sliders are great to share and it's great to dip them! They are a musket if you have a party of 4. For the amount of money that you would spend over at Olive Garden this is a good spend that better for the money! If you're a type of person who wants to find good service, John is a good server.

Service: 10/10 - Very attentive and friendly servers. Food: 6/10 - our fries and country potatoes were cold. The food we ordered came in generous portions but was a bit dry/overcooked. Seating booths: 1/10 - These booths were definitely made for only parties of two. We were very cramped and it made for an uncomfortable dining experience. read more

Very unassuming from the outside, but even at 11am on a Saturday, you can just roll in and sit where you want. Food came out within 15 mins of ordering and very well done. Classic American breakfast fare with good portions and not too expensive. Definitely will come here again! read more

If you want to be in a good mood and start your day off right, this is the place. The customer service is amazing, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. Kudos to the main gal, i didn't get her name but you are the whole vibe of this place!! You won't feel lost in a busy large diner where you don't see your waitress again until the bill. My husband and I came here for brunch/lunch today. It has been awhile since I've been here (2009 I wanna say). We met the new owner April too who was an absolute doll! She was fun to talk with, the atmosphere was warm and friendly...and the food was DELICIOUS!!! My husband ordered the California Benedict, I had the tuna melt with onion rings. Oh my gosh!! The onion rings were crunchy, fresh and just addicting!!! My husband loved his Benedict....not sure if he came up for air while eating it Lolol. Next time we go I'm trying the French toast and mimosas!!! read more

I have lived by this restaurant forever and have seen it go from sky kitchen to my kitchen and a bunch of other names in between. I have always heard really good things about the breakfast here so I finally gave it a try. When we first walked in we were told to take a seat anywhere. Someone came around and asked us if we needed coffee before our server came and honestly, I loved this. The menu varies from brunch items to lunch items. You have your typical omelettes and then you have sandwiches and burgers. I ordered the chicken apple sausage with two sunny side up eggs and hash browns. It definitely was not what I was expecting. The chicken apple sausage was sort of sour and extra salty. The hash browns were under down. We also tried the country fried steak and the steak and eggs. Everything was just mediocre and not memorable. However the service was great. read more

Hands down the best breakfast place of Bills, Holders and several other places. Great staff. I almost feinted the chocolate chip pancakes were so good. Everything expertly prepared. CHEF NOT WEARING MASK!!!! I just did a door dash pick up order for My Kitchen. When I got there my order needed a few more minutes so I sat down. After I few minutes I realized the chef was preparing all the food without wearing a mask. When I brought this up to the person boxing the food she shrugged it off and said "we get tested so it's ok." I informed her that no it was not ok, and that chefs were supposed to wear a mask while preparing food. I asked her why the chef could not wear a mask, yet the sign at the door said I had to wear a mask in order to come inside and pick up my food. At this point she just said "here's your food" and started to ignore me. I said I didnt want this food as the chef prepared it without a mask and I wanted a refund. She replied that she would talk to "someone" about a refund. I left and quickly got on with door dash and provided them with the proof that the chef wasn't wearing the mask and they got me a refund. I get that all restaurants and struggling and I have always loved this place. But being un concerned about not wearing a mask is not ok. I will take the off of our list to eat at for now. If they had even apologized and offered to remake it with her wearing a mask i would have been happy. But saying it's ok because they get tested is not ok. read more

Small little place, turn over for tables is pretty quick. You sit yourself and wait for someone to serve you. First time trying the place and I have to say it was ok. My server was nice but I had to flag her down to get more coffee and also after getting my food, eating and finishing.....I had to flag down two people to get my check. I literally stacked my plates and someone cleared them and I sat there staring at everyone and waiting and finally a random server or host was like " OH you must be ready! " OBVIOUSLY, y'all cleared my stuff and had me sit an extra 10-15mins for no reason. Food was good but wasn't steaming hot when I got it so not sure about the prep time for it but it did come out rather quick. Overall I'd say it wouldn't be somewhere I'd sought out but may try again. read more

My Kitchen is the best diner in San Jose. While most places are cutting portions and raising prices, My Kitchen continues to crank out large portion meals!!! Breakfast items on the menu are the best!! Try the the banana pancakes..the best in San Jose!!!! read more

We have nearly exhausted brunch places nearby and wanted to try one new. Saw this new place with good reviews. Maybe it was a one off day for them but the country potatoes were not fully cooked. The food was okish, do not think will go again. IJava, Bills are definitely better read more

Husband and I decided to try them out for a late breakfast now that it's no longer Alexis'.... No upgrades were done inside. We sat quickly. The food was good and decent portion sizes. Service was fairly quick but we did have to request our bill after being done for a while. I will say that I was grossed out when I saw the older man clear a table of dirty dishes then grab and butter toast w/o washing his hands. read more

I'm giving a 1-star review to hopefully get some attention. I had an order the other day through DoorDash. I ordered a Frapaccino, Menu price says $5.25...but to then order a flavor, and you can't order it without a flavor, it costs another $5.25! I contacted DoorDash and after dealing with their customer service got a credit, but they didn't seem to see anything wrong with anything. I am hoping that My-Kitchen will contact DoorDash and do what they need to do so each flavor isn't another $5.25 which is ridiculous. I would like to order from you guys again, but $10.50 for a frap is just ridiculous. Please let me know when you do. On another note, I ordered my eggs Medium, and they came Easy. To be fair, this happens 95% of the time I order my eggs Medium, however, I want you guys to be a cut above the rest, so I am bringing it to your attention. Medium should be gooey, not runny. It's a fine art. read more

Went to Chef Li restaurant for Valentine's Day. Second time for us and the food was wonderful. Not only does it taste great but it visually looks fantastic and not just thrown on the plate. Also the ambiance stands out compared to all other Chinese restaurants. Definitely going back read more

Friendly staff but we left half the food on our plates. Potatoes were mediocre, fruit was mostly cheap melon, and corned beef wasn't worth finishing. At $50+ for a lunch for two I'd expect more. read more

I had the pancakes, I'm always hunting for great pancakes. While they also have fancy and creative pancakes, I'm old school and like simple plain pancakes. They did not disappoint and were excellent. My mom had the crab cake Benedict which was also good. Coffee was well made and perfect temp. I seen a lot of positive comments on service, I would say mine wasn't great. They have artificial creamers on table, asked cream for coffee she pointed at table, I said do you have real cream and she asked what I meant...someone from behind counter said "half n half". Had to ask for refills and napkins. Not super attentive but not bad...not as great as the other post. It is a small place but plenty of seating and comfortable. Retro diner feel...for sure will go again. read more

First thing i noticed was that the coffee cup had a lipstick stain on it and water tasted like detergent, which means cleanliness is an afterthought. I also didn't like that they just placed the portable payment device on our table without saying anything like they just wanted us to leave. Place wasn't busy. Portions are good, food was okay and I liked the pepper sauce, but I kept thinking the place isn't clean. read more

Reminds me a lot of Mi-Kayla's on Tasman; and I like Mikayla's because there's not much in that area to eat breakfast-wise. I'm always drawn to House menu items so my eyes went straight to the 'MY-Favorites' country fried steak and side goodies. Did its job, very wholesome bfast bfore picking up an 85* coffee and tending to my newly-spayed puppy at home. You'll probably see pics of that ordeal later. In the meantime, everyone have a Happy Hump Day. read more

We hit the Brunch hour and the place was rocking. We were able to sit right down amazingly. There is a fabulous patio to people watch and enjoy the California weather. Our server Charles was really great. He walked us through the menu giving us the 911 on watch to order. Most of the plates were perfect shareable bites. Making it easy to try multiple plates and really get your inner Foodie on. We started with the Seasonal Banana Pancakes with crushed walnuts and cinnamon maple syrup. Inside the pancakes were fresh bananas and the walnuts were crushed very small but added a great texture. Moving on to the Chicago Steak sandwich don't get confused but in Chicago they refer to Roast Beef as steak. The Au Jus dip was very flavorful without being a salt bomb. Loved the potato roll they used all round a killer sandwich. Going a little outside the box we tried the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. The pineapple slaw with this amazing peppery chutney type sauce played so well with the acid of the pineapple. Another must have sandwich. I ask you how can you go to a new restaurant and not have some dessert. With everything else being so good our expectations were pretty high and we were not disappointed. The Giant Profiterole is exactly that GIANT and stuffed with White Chocolate Gelato and Hot Chocolate Sauce that you can drizzle over the top. To fricken die for good. This was genuinely one of the worst chicken sandwiches I have ever had. It was extremely gristly, fatty, and made with dark meat, which felt like an odd choice for a chicken sandwich. I'm not sure why this cut of chicken was used. The fries were alright, but they did not come with the sandwich and cost an additional $5. Our total came to almost $90 for three entrees with no beverages. I was especially frustrated because my sandwich was inedible. For the price and quality, I will not be returning and would not recommend this place.

This place is the best--Scramblez level food but with way more options and they don't skimp on the avocado. Waitress is very nice and talkative. It's also a smaller place and costs a little less than Scramblez so it's usually less loud--but beware of coming on a busy day like Saturday with no reservation. All tables are booths or bar seats and accommodate 4 or 5 people, but they will sit you at two booths next to each other and remove the divider if you have 8ish people. Food is delicious and they will substitute lots of stuff which is great for vegetarians (Dennys won't even give you a fruit cup instead of bacon). I also think this diner has soymilk. In summary: cutest little diner tucked away in a strip mall that gives you what you want. read more
