I always like to support local businesses but definitely won't be coming back here. I felt my pedicure was very rushed, no care was taken, the whole pedicure was completed in about 5 minutes (the longest time was spent in the feet dryer). The water I put my feet in was lukewarm. There was no attention to the cuticles or hard skin and the staff barely spoke to me. I did not like the nail color when it was put on but the lady doing my nails ignored me and carried on putting a second coat on. When I got home my nails were uneven and clumpy. I paid and left a tip, but not even a thank you and goodbye. Shame, live very close but not coming here again. read more

Tracy is the new owner at My Nails and she is great! She is a really big improvement over the previous owner. She and her partner very professional, welcoming and very good at what they do. The salon is well priced & VERY clean, Tracy is an honest, friendly person to do business with and all 20 of my nails always look great for 2 weeks at least. Granted, I only go in for a clip, clean up and a buff but it is well worth it and the best part is that you can just walk in. Oh, and ask Tracy to turn on the massage feature of the chair - it so relaxing! read more

I stumbled upon this gem when I moved into my new apt. The owners are super nice and friendly, plus Tracy gives one of the best gel manis I've ever had- 3 weeks without fail- for only $25. Yes the place is a bit small, but its clean and quaint, they always accommodate call aheads/walk ins, and they have a great assortment of colors. Coming up on a year and this is the ONLY spot I go to- I should have wrote this review ages ago. Also on a fun note- remember when we had that heat wave out here over labor day weekend and you either laid on your floor or called around to find places with AC?? I went to get my nails done and there was nothing funnier than Tracy fanning me while my nails dried because she saw sweat dripping down my face! Idk why I keep giving this place another chance to redeem itself. Maybe because it's convenient & I like Tracy. However, I don't think she likes me back because she loves to cut corners when it comes to giving me a mani. She misses hella corners when she paints and refuses to apply the polish evenly. I like her as a person and how she rejects walk-ins to accommodate those who have appointments so she does honor her prior commitments. My sister and I were just walking down Green St. on the way to her house. We were just going to kick it at her place when we came across My Nails. We thought, what the hell, let's just get our nails done. We walked in and it wasn't busy at all. A woman had just gotten her nails done and so we were seated immediately. The lady asked what color I wanted and I gave her a reddish pink nail polish. She began to file my nail, cut my cuticles, etc. After she finished preparing, she began to paint my nails. She turned on the fan and told me to dry my nails. This process took about 15-20 minutes and both my sister and I were headed out the door. About a day or two later, I noticed that my nails started to chip and my cuticles were in bad shape. I didn't like the fact that it started to chip so early, so I'm never going back there again. If you want a cheap fast manicure, I guess this place is right for you, but I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I had pretty average expectations going into this salon but would really not recommend it after my experience. To start, the process of having my gels taken off was more painful than ever. I've had gels maybe 20+ X so I'm well familiar with the annoying and sometimes uncomfortable experience of having them removed. This was unusually painful and I was wincing and gritting my teeth the whole time. Forget relaxing. Secondly, when asked if I wanted to keep any of the length (came in with very long nails), I said yes, and that I also wanted a rounded nail. The length portion of my request was totally ignored and I came out with nails filed so close to my nail bed that even a week later they still hurt. Finally, they only did two coats of color and 10 days later I have several chips. Chips in gels do happen but I almost never see them before two weeks and can usually attribute it to something I was doing rather than a shoddy gel job. Obviously, not an impressive or even comfortable experience. read more

I've been wanting to try a new nail salon around where I lived and found this place on Yelp. Came in for a gel manicure on a rainy morning and I called in 20 minutes before coming in to confirm if they're busy or not. There were two ladies working and one helped me get started with filing and cutting my nails while the other lady was finishing off another customer. During the entire process, they switched off to help another customer but it was okay because it was only two people handling the whole store. They had a small variety of colors but the color options were great. This place is small but cute in a way with enough space to feel comfortable and the staffs were really friendly and chatted with me throughout. I must say they took their time to help me fix my nails and didn't rush at all. I love my nails!!! They were cut and painted really nicely. I would definitely come back again. read more

The lady here was so RUDE! I walked in today asking if she has time to fix a nail that was cracking at the side. And she said "no i dont" and then I asked what time today she will be available and she said "i wont have time today" You can't take 5 minutes to glue back a nail? Terrible customer service. This review is for the waxing only and not nails. I will keep this short and sweet. Do not get a brazilian or bikini wax here, and if you have to wait a day, two or a week because of your busy schedule...then my advice to you is to wait. I was was left with so much wax that I had to find another place to fix their mess before a recent vacation. I was scrambling at 7 pm to find a waxing spot that would take me and luckily Milk on Polk saved the day. Would give Tracy 10 stars if I could. She pays just the right amount of attention to detail without keeping me there for hours. The gel manicure literally lasts 4 weeks - and even then it is still in perfect condition except the fact that it is grown out. I have been going to Tracy for 5 years now and she does an amazing job! She is a quick walk from my apartment and willing to be flexible with timing if not too busy. It is best to call ahead and see if she has time because there is limited space. Tracy has never given me a manicure, gel manicure, wax or pedicure that I was not extremely happy with. She is very particular to detail and will do everything she can to make you comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend going to My Nails! read more

I've been coming to the 3 ladies for 3 years now and am rarely disappointed with the mani/pedis received. They do take their time (plan to be there anywhere from 30 min. to 1.5 hours...it's sometimes a crapshoot), but it's worth it...they do a very good job for reasonable prices. If you call ahead, they'll make sure the wait is minimal. It's cash or check only, so come packing. You won't find a friendlier, no-nonsense place to be tidied up...if you bring your mum, they'll be sure to ask about her EVERY time you go in and gently remind you to be a good daughter by bringing her back again. YAY! New ownership and now a more updated salon. They have new massage chairs, 3 I think, and tons of OPI colors to choose from. The new owner was really friendly and I thought my manicure looked great. I was able to walk in after work and get my nails done, which is a perk. They aren't totally swamped yet. I noticed they have more gel colors then I have ever seen before at any salon. 30+ is my guess! I will for sure be back to try the gel manicure next time. read more

This nail salon has a new owner. What a difference! New spa chairs, new floors, fresh paint plus an emphasis on cleanliness. The new owner is very warm and welcoming. My Nails deserves 10 stars! My Mom and I have been coming here regularly for a few months now and we are so happy each and every time we leave here. The salon is in a perfect location, on lovely Green Street, great selection of nail colors (all the polish bottles are fresh). The salon is beautiful and CLEAN, very well taken care of. It is private and quiet and the customer service is awesome! Tracy and Kim are always on time and do impeccable work. I was in the city for work and some friends and I want d to get our nails done after training one day. This place was fairly close to our hotel and had great reviews so I called for three appointments--two pedis and one mani-pedi. We were glad they were open until 730, which was part of the reason we chose them. We arrived on time and were happy with the variety of color choices (all regular polish this time, no gel). Two of us sat down for pedis while the third sat at the desk for her mani. There was only one other chair for services and someone was finishing up her pedi. Friend #1 started her pedi. You sit in a massage chair and they bring what looks like an oversized dog dish about 1/3 filled with water to you. The technician seemed super grumpy and really didn't say a word to her the whole time. She had literally NO massage. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there with my feet in the metal bowl and my water (and feet) are getting cold fast. Friend #2's mani wraps up (I didn't ask her too much about it so can't say much other than she said it was good). That technician started my pedi. She was pleasant but didn't say much. She did a very quick once over to take off my old polish, but I'm fairly certain when this color comes off I'll find the old one still there too. She asked if I wanted my nails trimmed and I said yes. Which is what I say every time I get a pedi and typically they trim and even up all my nails. She cut some of my nails so short one actually hurt a few hours later. But others were longer. So they ended up not even at all. She barely scrubbed my feet (like maybe 15-20 seconds per foot) until I asked her to go back and work on a particular spot on one of them again, so I got another 15 seconds in that one spot. There was no salt scrub, and my leg massage lasted about two minutes combined for both legs. She did a great job painting my nails and she had good attention to detail along the cuticles. The good news is the price--it was only $20'for the pedi, but we definitely got what we paid for. I wouldn't go back here again. read more

Excited at the prospect of finding a nail place that was cheap and 2 blocks from my house, I made an appointment at My Nails. When I walked in I was taken aback by how small and dingy it is inside. The two women who were working there were super nice (which is why there are 2 stars), but other than that it was not a great experience. They don't take credit cards, so I had to treck down the hill to Polk to hit the ATM and then back up the steep hill. The french manicure and pedicure they gave me looked pretty good at first, but the polish started chipping the very next day, and upon closer inspection my cuticles were a disaster and my heels had been hacked to shreds. I'm sad it didn't work out between us - I had such high hopes. read more
