I really wanted to love this place- the food is actually really good. But I've had a horrible experience with takeout both times I've ordered there. The customer service is horrible- they don't even acknowledge you are there when you arrive and both times I've waited over an hour past the pickup time I was given. Tonight I arrived 1 hour after I ordered and they hadn't even started my order. They need to update their system with the correct pick up time if they want to continue to get any take out business. Moral of the story if you want to try this place dine in- it seems as though they prioritize dine in, and like I said the food is really good. read more

I would really love to give a higher rating, but the take out process here is horrendous. Opening weekend we waited for our food to be corrected, which fine I get it got to work out the kinks. Wanted to give this place another shot, but we were told 20 minutes for take out and sat for over an hour at the restaurant waiting and waiting. Not even offered a credit, free drinks, water or a discount on our next meal encouraging us to come back. My boyfriend and I come here for dinner no less than twice a week! The food is very authentic with real delightful Thai flavors. The Thai iced tea is the best around and the pumpkin curry is to die for. We are both lacto-vegetarians and to our surprise, none of the curries are made with fish sauce/shrimp paste so we can go through the different curries with our minds at ease. It's a shame to write this since the restaurant has so much potential, the food is good, and it's walking distance for us and our friend group. After our last visit and a discussion among us, it turns out we've all been thinking the same thing over the past several months: good food, but it's almost as if the overall portion sizes (and amount of meat in those portions) have been steadily shrinking down to what can only be described as the most minimal amount possible to still "count." Recent orders have been: 1. Panang Curry with four small pieces (bites) of chicken. 2. Green Curry with four bites of chicken. 3. Garlic Delight with 6 bites of chicken. 4. Tom Yum Soup with a single piece of chicken and mostly broth. The last straw was this past time with a couple friends during lunch time. The portions were the smallest yet. There was more chicken on the chicken skewer appetizer than in any of our entrees. Independently, we thought "ok lunch portion...not a big deal," but when the bill came we saw were being charged for dinner portions. It's TRULY not a big deal; it's only a difference of five bucks per meal or so, but the manner in which it was handled left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. The owner simply said "but you always come for dinner..." as if that was justification enough. The kicker was the change in attitude of "I'm not even going to look you in the eye because I know exactly what I'm doing." All of us looked at each other, consented to the charge as it was, but as soon as we walked out the door agreed it would be our last time eating My Thai. To be fair, had this been an isolated incident it would've been disappointing, but not fatal. However this has been a pattern. It's almost as if the recognition of being a regular triggers a "we can skimp on these orders since they keep coming back" type of response. As it sits, we won't be back since in the words of another friend, "There are so many other good Thai restaurants in Denver, there's no reason to support this one." Speaking of, if you're needing a Thai fix, try Ros Siam or Beau Thai in the area. Both are great, the portions aren't tapas sized, and the service consistently excellent. read more

Really. Look no further for a marvelous Thai place. I have been disappointed with recent trips to local Thai restaurants. When my friend recommended My Thai, I was surprised to see this place is under ten minutes from my home, but I hadn't noticed it. I can only say: DELICIOUS. Family owned and operated offering the most authentic Thai around. On any visit you will find the owner taking orders and tending to customers while she and her husband cook the food. Finally after moving from Baltimore and trying 14 literal places we found our Thai place! Everything is so authentic and refreshing. And the team who works there is just phenomenal. The food here is so good, but man, these people need to get their act together. I consistently wait significantly longer than the estimated ticket time for my orders, which are usually only single entrees. e.g. being quoted 20 minutes on a call-in order but it actually takes 45, or being quoted 45 minutes but it actually takes 75. I want to rate them higher because the food is delicious and it's 2 blocks from home, but the service is just awful. Sometimes you'll stand there for 5-10 minutes before your presence is even acknowledged, and they don't usually even have many customers there! Also the serving sizes seem to have been shrinking little by little over the past year or two. I really want this place to stay afloat but they have to do better! read more

My Thai Cafe is within walking distance for me and I'm so glad to have another thai place! US Thai, Beau Thai, Ros Siam. What stands out about this one? They've got Khao Soi, and I haven't even tried it yet, so I know I'll be back. Why haven't I tried my all time favorite Thai dish at this spot? Because hello crab fried rice. Yup, they've got some great options available on the menu. We stopped in on a Sunday around 5, the place was dead. Which, in a covid world, I've been oddly okay with and stuck around a few restaurants because I actually like the quiet empty dining experience at times. The food was good, something I've been noticing more and more with Thai food, is I love taking it home and adding frozen stir fry veggies with it, to a add nutrition and b extend it into multiple meals. I have some leftover fried rice and I'll be doing just that today. It seems none of the thai places add enough veggies to satisify me lately. Alright, I've gone off on a rant, they offer 4 heat levels, I was good with level 2. My boyfriend got the Thai Hot Pad thai, he then told me it wasn't very hot and I beg to differ. My husband and I have frequented this new establishment on Federal 4 times now and absolutely love this place. The dishes are not overly saucy and just the right portions so you don't over eat!! The drunken noodles, spicy garlic shrimp stir fry, crispy egg rolls and Tom kha soup have been favorites so far! I can best describe the food as fresh, light and just the right amount of full. The spice scale is also accommodating from mild to fire if that's your style. The cocktails and sake have all been delicious tried the mint mojito, yuzu cocktail, and drunken whale sake. The service has been wonderful - the owner even asks for suggestions/critiques and offered us samples to see if we liked a new creation she was making. She also told us that instead of MSG in her dishes she uses a vegan mushroom extract. I'm convinced this is why my stomach has never been upset after eating here!! Tips: - lunch is definitely easier than dinner, they're still ramping up and can get backlogged fast, so be patient - definitely get either the spring rolls or crispy egg rolls to start - start at medium if you don't have a high tolerance, but consider mild for some dishes--the papaya salad is great but they use fresh thai chiles that make it explosive. Price wise, it was relatively inexpensive, but considering the size of portions it as about as expected for a decent Thai dinner. I was excited to go to My Thai Cafe after hearing good things about their gluten free offerings and that they're knowledgeable about gluten allergies and safety. I was extremely let down. First, we had to find someone to seat us. Next, our waiter was not knowledgeable about GF whatsoever. I asked if their tofu was gluten free, to which he said "well, it's tofu so it should be." Not reassuring. I explained the concept of shared fryers vs dedicated fryers and he had no idea what I was talking about. He said he'd ask someone in the back about the tofu (I was asking if it's fried with other gluten containing items), and he came back and said "she said it's made of soybeans so if you can eat those you're fine." Not sure if he communicated my question to the kitchen properly. I just ordered chicken instead with my pad Thai. I will say the pad Thai was delicious although I was nervous eating it. Our drinks and food took forever to come out, and after we asked for to-go boxes our waiter still hadn't come back after 10 minutes. I eventually had to go find someone to bring us our check and boxes. I'm not sure if we were just there on an off night, but I can't say they were knowledgeable about gluten free food like I had heard from other gluten free diners. read more

I received an order via delivery and one dish was fine and one was completely inedible . I called to ask if they could please replace it and refund it and they would not. I do understand a policy to only replace food if the order was mistaken but when the food you receive does not at all resemble what you wanted and it is so awful that you kindly request a replacement ? I think it's reasonable to make the necessary change for your guest. I have a number of years in the restaurant service industry and I could not imagine not aiding a kindly made guest request and instead calling and telling the guest for 5 minutes, very condescendingly about how they couldn't meet the request . There were 13 of us sisters and cousins who came in from out of town to Denver and we were so happily surprised to come across My Thai Cafe on our last night there. Zoey, the owner, took great care in serving us and preparing a very delicious meal. Her mother, serving alongside as needed, has a smile of an angel, pouring water for us with joy from the depths of her heart. She was precious! Even though Zoey is eight months pregnant, she served us beautiful food and with an abundance of love. We were so blessed by coming to this restaurant. The restrooms were immaculate, the decor clean and stylish, and the music playing in the background set a perfect tone for a lovely dinner. When we left, (after closing time), we were hugging them and wishing that we lived in Denver so we could visit again. If you are ever in Denver, go here! You will not be disappointed! read more
