The restaurant is an iconic location for filming several shows. I was surprised by the wonderful service and pleasant meal. The burger was very well made and the beef was perfectly cooked. The libations are also wonderful and they don't cheap out on the drinks. I basically had a double. Management is very seriously and truly cares about the experience about its guest, always going out of their way to do the very best for diners. The bartender was very courteous and prompt with our orders. The food was quite tasty, and the portions were a good size. The prices were quite reasonable. Although the inside did not look a whole lot, like what you see on the show, it was amazing being at the location. After our meal, we went downstairs to visit the fun gift shop. Mystic Grill was a great dining experience! Even though we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, there was a great area on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant with ample seating. Once we were seated inside, what a surprise that our waitress was actually interested in us and chatted for a minute. The burger melt and the salad with grilled shrimp were delicious. Very quaint restaurant! Our friends invited us out here because they've been here before. They are fans of Harry Potter and the restaurant is currently decked out with HP theme. Of course, my silliness didn't take any photos. They had a special drink menu with HP themed items. Although, I think due to COVID their bartender was not able to mix the drinks on this particular night, and they were out of a lot items to make the drinks. Our group was 8 deep and we waited for about 1 hour to dine. We were kinda hangry, and a bit rambunctious. Our waiter was totally patient and kind. I know she was slammed with other tables I'm sure. But she hung in there. Thank you Tara for providing the best service possible. Onto the food. I think we came on an off night. Our friends said they loved the food here and it was worth it. The food is AMAZING here. Highly recommend if you're a fan of The Vampire Diaries universe or Sweet Magnolias as filming was done here for both locations. We've had the fried pickles, chicken sliders, chicken Mac and cheese, shrimp and grits and cheesecake. The cheesecake is a bit pricey for the slice, but I guess it is to be expected with the story behind it. The drinks are great and the service has been top notch both times we've went. There is a lot of memorabilia from mostly The Vampire Diaries, but, also other shows/movies as well. Wow! A group of us are new to the Covington area and Mystic Grill was really popular bc Vampire Diaries was shot there. I'm one of the few who has not seen the show lol. I'm here for the food! I decided on the fried chicken sliders for lunch with a side of fries. The breading on the chicken was delicious, crispy and seasoned well. It also had black pepper cream cheese and red pepper jelly, perfect accompaniments and really gave harmony to the flavors in the sandwich. I was still thinking about this sandwich later that evening. It was that good. The fries were different. They were good but the shape was thick and odd. I like my fries with a little crisp so this was different for me. My co-worker had sweet tea chicken lunch entree which was huge! She didn't even finish half and said it was good. Another associate had the grill cheese with applewood bacon and blackberry jam. She enjoyed as well but wished there was more cheese to offset the heavy jam which was slightly overpowering on the sandwich. We went for middle of the day, middle of the week lunch. It was pretty busy and took a little while for our food to be prepared so be ready for a wait. No quick lunches! All in all I will return if nothing but for the sliders alone. We got there about 20 mins before they opened on Sunday at 11 & were first in line. We were seated within 2 minutes of opening & our server was amazing! We ordered the Fried Green Tomato App (10/10), Mystic Grilled Cheese with Sweet Potato Fries (10/10) & the Deconstructed Pecan Pie upon the recommendation of our server - also 10/10! So I went there order for my birthday got blackened shrimp Fettuccine pasta n also ordered a Mac n cheese which wasn't as good and I found a black hair in my Mac n cheese on my birthday! I was so disappointed in my experience. We had a party of 14 and we were all present and they couldn't seat us at the same table. They split the party between two tables and the bar, not anywhere near each other. This somewhat rude lady came to our party and said "We can't seat your party near each other and we don't have any more tables, blah, blah, blah". She was so brash for no apparent reason. The occasion was a surprise birthday celebration, so they could have been a little more accommodating. Everyone in our party was able to sit somewhere in the building and order, so I guess I should be grateful for that, but the utterly bad attitude of the woman really affected my mood and if it wasn't for the surprise party, I would have walked out of this place and never looked back. The food was mediocre as well. I had salmon and the wild rice that accompanied the fish was overcooked. Also, they don't take the GA electronic driver's license, only the physical version, so I could not order a drink to ease my tension. The waitress responsible for our table did a good job, but, the initial experience when we arrived tainted my experience, as well as the mediocre food, so the one star rating is fitting. My girlfriend and I are The Vampire Diaries fans, so we were so excited to visit the Mystic Grill Restaurant. Walking in was such a surreal experience. We took so many pictures and there was a hallway in the upstairs dining area dedicated to framed and signed menus by cast members. Offered was a variety of southern cooking from "sweet tea fried chicken" to burgers and fries. My 11-year-old brother ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. He is a picky eater and he said this was his favorite meal during our trip to our Atlanta area. I ordered the Mystic Grilled Cheese. It was not bad, but there were large pieces of raw jalapenos, and it was kind of dry. Don't order this grilled cheese expecting a cheese pull. The blackberry jam and bacon did add a good flavor to the sandwich. Jazmine ordered the Clocktower Burger with caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar cheese, and onion rings. She requested for the burger to come without the fried egg, but it did come out with one on it. The waitresses inquired how she would like her burger cooked and she said medium. Her burger ended up coming out medium rare to rare. She tried it, but we had to end up sending it back and advised again that she would like it medium. The waitress agreed that the burger was not cooked medium. When a replacement burger came back out, it was barely cooked any farther. Jazmine just ended up settling. Our fries were one of our favorite types of fries, sidewinder fries. These are like a combination of a potato wedge and a curly fry. They were good, but a little bland. read more

This restaurant is one of our favorites. We are regulars there as we live in the area. We go there for the ambiance, food, service all of it. We love Mystic. One of the main reasons we return time and again is the people that work there. We love the owner, the management staff, wait staff, bar staff, everyone. They are very busy and hustling all the time. But we have had the best times there with the people that work there. Always. The managers are some of our great friends now and have been for years, because again, we go there very regularly. If you happen by Covington as a Vampire Diaries fan, or some other reason and things are really busy, or a manager is reminding you of policies, give them grace. It's their job and this is a very nice restaurant. Very nice. They strive to keep the level high for service and accommodating guests. Don't judge so hard, or say awful things about people. The food is delicious, the place is so unique, gorgeous. Can you imagine working in such an atmosphere where you are held to high standards and it is very busy nearly all the time? Drove from Orlando to do our own Vampire Diaries and Stranger Things tour. The town of Covington (or, Mystic Falls) is beautiful! We didn't know that Mystic Grill was an actual restaurant until we got here! It's located right across the street from the town's square, and right down the street from Elena and Caroline's house (the ones used for the series). I was shocked with the quality of the food. After driving 6+ hours we were looking forward to a good meal and this place did not disappoint us. Everyone was following the safety protocols. We were greeted by a super friendly host and quickly seated. We were so hungry that we forgot to take pictures of the food, sorry! We both ordered the Mystic Burger with bacon and cheese. Absolutely delicious!! The burger was very thick and juicy, had a lot of flavor and was cooked to perfection! Upstairs they have walls filled with pictures and autographs from the different celebrities that have been there and a small section (like a living room) to take pictures. We were also looking forward on buying souvenirs from the gift shop downstairs (you get 10% off when you show them your Mystic Grill receipt) and we were disappointed to see how bad the quality of the souvenirs were. They looked really really cheap, the graphics from the mugs were stretched to fit as like someone designed them in a very bad quality software. I understand the licensing aspect but oh Lordy, very bad quality. However, they do have many of the outfits worn by some of the main characters from the series. Also, I noticed there is a VPD museum attach to it but it was closed. read more

Definitely worth a stop if you are in town for the TVD tour. We waited about 30 minutes on a weekday in the summer to be seated, but you can just put your name and number down and leave to shop downstairs. They give you 10% off (I think?) if you have eaten/will eat the the grill. I got the blue cheese chicken pasta, it was very good! Just creamy enough, with a huge portion, so much chicken, and just the right amount of blue cheese, not so much that you get overwhelmed. I would definitely have it again. The only thing we had some trouble with was they forgot our pimento cheese and we ended up having it half way through our entree. But not a huge deal. read more

Went on a Saturday around 4:15 p.m. with a party of 6. The wait was 45-60 mins and was accurate. After being seated things got weird. The waitress was an older women that did not introduce herself. We ordered sodas and waters and she brought them back and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for more time. She came back about a minute after and ended up ordering, though feeling rushed. Ordered fried pickle app and it came out about 10 minutes later - super small portion (think a teacup plate size) and they were ice cold. About 10 minutes later another serving came out with a bigger portion and warmer but was a little peculiar. Not gonna complain about that. Food came out and the burgers were all cooked incorrectly. Lacked flavor. My blackberry salad came without the fried goat cheese and it took the waitress about 10 minutes to ask us how the food was. Bathrooms were awful and there were flies. Mediocre overall and just a tourist trap. Update: a member of our party threw up and said it tasted better coming out then going down. we all felt like our experience gradually gets weirder.
