They (whoever "they" are) say it's the best THEME PARK restaurant in the WORLD. Best THEME PARK restaurant. Got it? It's a good restaurant, theme park or otherwise, located in Universal's Islands of Adventure park. The food is legitimately good. The decor is very cool and our server was excellent. Not just THEME PARK excellent but excellent for any restaurant. There's a nice view of a man-made lagoon. The spanakopita dip appetizer with a ton of soft, freshly-made pita chips is very good. The chips are delicious and the dip is very flavorful. The piggy in me could eat this yummy dip all day long in front of a TV. The Gnocchi Bolognese is a solid dish. You get a ton of gnocchi and the flavor is great. But this is a very heavy dish. Each gnocchi is like a depth charge to your gut. Fair warning. The lamb burger was fine. The patty is way ridiculously small for the bun and the meat was a bit overcooked. But it's still a decent burger. The fries were nice. The ever-popular Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese (served with no spoon, alas) was good but I think it's a better dish in theory than in execution. Everyone loves grilled cheese and tomato soup, and there's plenty of flavor here, but the bread gets soft sitting in the soup. This is still a reliably good comfort food dish. Drinks were mostly very good. The mango lassi was wonderful. The non-alcoholic pineapple coconut "fruit slush" was a totally delish piña colada. The alcoholic Potion of the Gods is fishbowl-sized. It's a decent rum punch but it was light on the booze (no surprise). I would recommend making a reservation. We showed up 20 minutes early for our reservation because we were nearby and they were cool with it and sat us anyway. Prices are high-ish but really not outrageously high for a theme park. For quality food and service, I think the prices were fair. Overall, it's a good experience. Don't get hung up on this "best" whatever business. Most of our food and drinks were good to very good. And it's nice to spend an hour eating non-junk food in an attractive relaxed environment. And, like I mentioned, our service was terrific. read more

Very nice change of pace from some of the more typical menus in Universal. The atmosphere was unique, and will keep children interested. Service was attentive. We LOVED mythos!!! Ryan was the best server that we have had in the longest time at a restaurant. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience was enjoyable. He gave us some inside tips on things to visit inside and outside the park and also for Sarasota where we were traveling to next. His recommendations were amazing, and we loved the spanakopita dip. My husband ordered the caprese chicken sandwich and I got the fork and spoon grilled cheese. Both were AMAZING. This is a must visit when you are at universal- be sure to make a reservation because they do book up quickly and won't take any walkins. They were booked solid all the days that we were in the park. As an annual pass holder of universal studios, I really try to capitalize on all that they offer. When I heard that Mythos was rated the best restaurant of all theme parks, I thought, "that's not really a high bar to set!" However it didn't disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as it was the perfect end to the most perfect day at Universal Studios. During the summer of 2022, our family enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime road trip from Los Angeles to Key West, and back home through the Midwest and mountain states of the US. Among our many highlights along the way was a three day stay in Universal Orlando, a first for our family. In the more than 9,000 miles we travelled during our 33 day adventure, one of the best meals we enjoyed (amazingly!) was our lunch at Mythos restaurant! As others have reviewed, Mythos is an award-winning restaurant in its own right; but what is aptly attributed for the fare is only augmented by the experience of dining here: the unique and imaginative architecture, the water features inside the building, and the incredible service we received (complete with mini lessons on the intersection of the building's art and Greek mythology) made this a highlight of our entire summer. After a cursory inspection of the weather radar (and the experience of getting utterly soaked on the way to an early dinner the night before) we made reservations and arrived just as the skies outside opened up with pouring rain and awesome cloud-to-ground lightning. I know, I know... You folks that live out there or in the eastern half of the country are not as impressed by thunder and lightning during summer storms, but we Southern California folks don't get that kind of thing but once or twice every few years. whatever the case, the pouring rain coming down outside the building in front of the windows only added to the surreal underwater dining experience. We enjoyed a delicious hummus appetizer and a sampler plate The double down on the hummus and included a few other tasty creations, cold drinks that never ran empty with our awesome server, and delicious lunch entrees. I have eaten my fair share of burgers during my lifetime, but the fresh and unique blend of ingredients, with a Mediterranean flair, made this a burger to remember and order again someday. My bride ordered the gnocchi, and it was perfectly prepared, with just the right amount of chew to the dumplings. My son ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and by the end of the meal, we had all shared bites of different things, each sampling a good chunk of the menu. compared to what we paid for some other "fast food" style meals in other parts of the park, this was also very affordable as unique theme park restaurant fare is concerned. With Mythos having the #1 theme park restaurant title, my family and I have always wanted to try this place for years now but have never been able to get a reservation until our most recent trip to Universal. I started off with the calamari, which was good but nothing special to it. I ordered the beef tenderloin for my entree and I was very disappointed. There were only 3 small pieces on the plate and each piece was very hard when chewing. For the price of each item, I did not think the quality nor the taste of the food was worth it. We love Mythos. We generally go 2-3 times a year. This recent trip we had a terrific server, Steven who engaged with my niece and nephew, kept our drinks refilled and made excellent recommendations. We always get the spanakopita dip. It's a spinach dip with nuances of the greek dish. Served with freshly made pita chips. The chips are warm and crispy yet soft in the middle. Even my 6 yr old nephew enjoyed the chips! We also had the calamari which was perfectly fried. I love when calamari comes out with the tentacles and rings and a nice roasted lemon. These also had a lovely aioli to dip in. My nephew had the pepperoni pizza which he nearly finished. Both kiddos loved their childrens cups with the minions, SpongeBob and other characters. My brother in law always gets the pad thai, he loves it. This trip I had the catch of the day which was a mahi mahi in a ponzu sauce with green beans and couscous. It was spectacular. My husband had the spatchcocked roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes and wilted spinach. Everything was perfect even the gorgeous dish it was sent out on. My sister in law had the lamb and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared the pumpkin bread pudding and the lava cake with peanut butter ice cream. We decided to give Mythos a try after receiving a recommendation and we are so glad we tried it out. We made a reservation via the Universal app and were promptly seated at our reservation time. We didn't have to wait long before we were greeted by our waiter and he did an amazing job. We tried a few apps and had a couple of drinks as well. For apps we went with their hummus dish and the calimari. Both were very tasty and enough for the three of us from a portion standpoint. For drinks, I had a draft beer which was nice and my wife had the old fashioned which was a nice take on the classic drink. For entrees I chose the special for the day which was grouper and amazing and my wife had the couscous dish with tofu. My daughter chose the chicken sandwich. Again the portion sizes were manageable and everything tasted great. The standpoint by far were the sauces on each of the dishes. We surprised our kids for their birthday with a trip to Universal / Islands of Adventure. Unfortunately, Mythos was booked on the website. After doing all we needed to do at Universal, we caught the train over to IOA. It was lunch time and we were pretty sure there wasn't going to be any availability, but I tried. And success! They had a walk in spot open. We waited about 40minutes (people watching is fun) and then got sat on the inside. My wife and I had been to Mythos years ago (about 18-20 years ago) and really enjoyed the experience. So we were happy our kids got to experience it too. The food was really good, portion wise. We had a Greek shrimp salad, Moroccan beef kabob couscous bowl, 2 bacon cheeseburgers, and Greek chicken salad. The food was very tasty. The two small things were that the beef kabob was a bit tougher than I'd have liked, and that my wife didn't like the herb-lemon vinaigrette for the salad. Luckily, she asked for it on the side and was able to get a different dressing. Service was good and smooth, the seats were comfy, the A/C was good, and we enjoyed the time to sit and eat. My boyfriend and I spent 4 days in Disney World and 3 days at Universal Studios. This restaurant was hands-down the best food we had our entire trip. And in a park to boot! We were extremely surprised that the food lived up to the hype. The interior was very themed, and it seemed clean. We asked for paper menus for easier reading, and we were given them. We ordered the spinach dip, the calamari, and the lamb burger. All were FANTASTIC! The spinach dip was very flavorful, the accompanying pita was crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. The calamari were crispy and flavorful without being overcooked/tough. The lamb burger was a little smaller than your typical American-sized burger, but we found that we were full after our meal, even when we split the lamb burger. The burger itself was juicy and well-seasoned. Delicious! I can't say enough good things about this place, and we will definitely go back if we visit Universal again. Quick tip: make your reservation through the Universal app at least a couple days ahead! If you aren't able to snag a spot on your preferred date, check for last minute openings the day of. After years and years of walking by Mythos on my weekly stroll through Islands of Adventure, a friend made lunch reservations at Mythos for a few of us. Now I feel really stupid for never visiting here sooner. I am a sucker for grilled octopus. I refuse to watch My Octopus Teacher because that would probably be the end of my love for grilled octopus. When I saw the Mediterranean Grilled Octopus appetizer on the menu, I knew it had to be mine. It was... absolutely delicious. I saw the portion after spying at someone else's plate, and decided this was a perfect portion for one for a light lunch. Loved it. It was perfectly grilled and seasoned. There was a super yummy "roasted corn and Kamalata olive relish" and a roasted garlic lime aioli accompanying the corn. This was love. I'll be back to Mythos just to have this dish again, while actively staying away from that documentary. My friends ordered the Sea Scallop and Truffle Risotto and really enjoyed it. It was a large portion! They also ordered the Hazelnut Crème Brûlée. I tried this- it was tasty, but I'm not sure it's worth the $9. Also, it didn't feel like a crème brûlée. It didn't have the hard top, and the consistency was more like a pudding. Still good though! The service was excellent. There's usually a long wait for this fan-favorite restaurant... but once you're inside, everything is awesome. The service was great. Our waiter was very nice, and the food came out VERY fast. And this is considering the restaurant was completely full and had a 2 hour wait outside... Truly an amazing experience! Great service, great food, really cool ambiance. We had reservations at 3:30 but the heat was getting to us so we asked if we could go in early. They seated us in 15 minutes. The staff were really nice and helpful and definitely did a good job to make you feel welcomed. The food was out of this world good. I had the spanakopita dip and the balsamic chicken sandwich. Both were equally amazing! It was even more amazing because this was in the middle of the park- this is not your average park food. I was really impressed with this restaurant. Most places that post their own review as one of the best leaves me a bit wary if it's true. Thankfully after eating here we were quite satisfied. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and has a nice ambiance. We made reservations and were seated about 10 min after we checked in. The server was nice and explained everything on the menu. We ordered scallops and barley, beef medallions, and the garlic and spinach ravioli. The sauce on the scallops - beef consume I think - tasted a little like Dinty Moore stew. The scallops were cooked well and the barley was soft. The beef medallions were cooked perfectly med rare with buttery mash and al dente green beans. We spent 2 days at Universal Orlando and by far our favorite meal was at Mythos! I had read rave reviews before booking a reservation for dinner, and it didn't disappoint! First of all, the ambiance is really great. We loved the vibe and our server was SO GREAT! I can't remember his name (maybe Stephen) but he was from the UK and he was really fantastic. The food was excellent. We fell in love with the spanakopita dip and I am committed to trying to recreate it at home. We also tried both the salmon and scallops dishes and they were really delicious and generous portion sizes. We visited Mythos Restaurant during our trip to Orlando since we heard many good things about it. However, we weren't impressed. The theme of the restaurant is very cool, and the decor definitely helps it feel immersive compared to some of the other food locations within the park. However, not sure if we ordered the wrong thing, but the food was just not that good. We asked our server about some of the items on the menu, but the items we originally wanted to order she told us "were not good." So, instead, I got the Balsamic Chicken Sandwich, but I wish I didn't. The sandwich was very dry and hard to get through. The fries were unseasoned and didn't even have salt on them. Two of came in for lunch just before noon after an exhilarating ride on the Velocicoaster. Did not have reservations but only had to wait ten minutes to be seated. We were outdoor but our table was completely in the shade and so separate from other tables that it was like our own private seating space. Really nice with a light breeze wafting through and the distant screams of riders on the Velocicoaster as our music. Ordered an Athos Mule and an Andromeda's Fate drink to start and had a second round with a Raspberry Lemonade. For the meal we ordered a Mythos Signature Lamb Burger and a Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese. Our server, Arian, was warm, pleasant and friendly. Easily the best meal we have had here this trip. It is no wonder that they win best restaurant awards. This rivals many restaurants anywhere, let alone in a theme park. I gave them five stars because they nailed all the necessary requirements for me, even though the fries with the Lamb burger were only average. The Pork Belly Chips with the Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese were a big hit and was claimed to be the "best grilled cheese" ever eaten. It was a $100 lunch so be prepared. Book early and enjoy. My advice is to make a reservation here if you really want to dine here! We managed to snag the last walk in spot right around 12 and then the host had to start turning people away. It was a really short wait before we were led to our table. The decor here is really well themed, even the bathrooms had Medusa statues as the light fixtures which was pretty cool to see. I'm glad the restaurant was open when we were visiting the parks as I had read that it was closed for a few years during the pandemic. I ordered the octopus leg and my brother got the pad thai. The octopus leg came with a creamy sauce and corn. It was nice and tender with a slightly smoky taste to it. The pad thai's sweet and sour sauce was on point. The noodles were cooked perfectly. This restaurant is a must, at least one of the days, of all of our universal trips! Not only was it awarded the number 1 theme park restaurant every year in a row but it also houses the best view of the park. I recommend sitting out on the patio if it's a nice day! Now on to the food. The lamb meatballs on the starters menu needs to be a full course main meal. These little balls of goodness literally melt in your mouth. My entire family cannot stop talking about them! We orders two of them because we just couldn't get enough (perfect amount for four people). I ordered the balsamic chicken sandwich and it was cooked to protection. I do not think we have had a bad meal there yet! Last year when I took a trip to Universal Orlando, my friend and I tried to get into Mythos and they were booked. This year, I made a point to do some reservations ahead of time and Mythos was on the top of my list. I've heard rave reviews of the grilled cheese, so I opted for that and it was amazing. The bottom of the sandwich soaked up most of the soup and the top was still nice and toasted. My friend ordered the lamb burger. I had a bite and the sauce on it was really tasty. She was a little disappointed that the gnocchi bolognese was no longer on the menu. They explained that it was more of an Italian dish and not Greek so they thought it best to take it off the menu. Every time we visit the park we eat at Mythos. Our first two trips to the parks this restaurant was excellent, but this last one was an absolute disappointment. We made reservations as suggested by our on-site hotel. We waited just a little bit to be seated. Not nearly as long as the other in park reservations we made, so that was a good start any way. If you haven't been here, the dining room is a high ceiling, open room with a large water feature in the center. It's like you are dining in a cave. We were seated along side the water at a table. They also have booth seating. My SO ordered a dish that was supposed to be a grilled cheese in tomato soup. It was actually pasta sauce, which did not have enough liquid to soak in to the grilled cheese and made for a very dry, unappetizing meal. I ordered the scallops. They were past their prime and I didn't eat my meal. No one was available to check on us and we left having not eaten our meals. No one asked why we hadn't eaten our meals, so I'm guessing this is nothing new to the staff. Sad. We did not make a fuss. It's not the waiters fault and it's probably not the kitchens fault either. You do what you can with what you have and the supply chain does have issues just now. I hope this is just all part of the times we live in and not the direction this restaurant is taking. It would be better to take an item off the menu then serve ill prepared dishes and food past it's sell date. I know they can do better because we've experienced better. I got the salmon today and it was so flavorful. It paired really well with the potatoes. Our server Tiffany was so nice and attended all our allergy concerns with grace. We were a party of six, two ordered a cheese burger, two ordered the lamb burger, I ordered the knife and fork grilled cheese(which was way overhyped) and the last person got the couscous bowl. My issue with this place was the inconsistency. The two cheeseburgers were cooked properly but one of the lamb burgers was charred and over cooked and the other was raw. The couscous bowl was a decent option and the knife and fork grilled cheese is exactly what you think it will be, a soggy grilled cheese. The reviews below were correct about it being marinara sauce rather than tomato soup. All in all, I would come back but only for the cheese burger. Those reservations can be booked through the Universal Website. Mythos Restaurant is named top theme park restaurant for 2021 by Theme Park Insider, and I can see why! The restaurant is Mediterranean themed. Inside the restaurant, it feels like you're inside a cave that overlooks the lake. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We ate at Mythos over the Holidays and ended up with indoor seating. There are also restrooms located inside the restaurant. The service is absolutely amazing! We were immediately seated and provided a QR code to scan for the menu. Beverages were requested first, with several waters and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was scrumptious, with plenty of whip cream and chocolate mixed in! My daughter drank all of it! Afterwards, the dessert showed up shortly after. The Chocolate Hazelnut Creme Brulee was not a Brulee. It was more like a chocolate pudding with crumbled cookie on-top. It was delicious, but if you're expecting a standard Brulee, with a crisp hard top, this dessert is not that. Overall, our experience at Mythos was amazing. Good - fully air conditioned, if you are seated close to the windows - great views. Food was pretty good. I'd recommend looking at the menu if you have picky eaters though. Service was solid. Definitely a nice break from being in the park. Make sure you have a reservation because wait times can be extremely long without it. read more

Go just for the ambiance! The décor and layout of this place were sweet! My group of 4 went at 8:30PM (park closes at 10) and still had to wait 20 mins to get seated. I'm guessing they were low on servers because we walked by multiple open tables. All the members of my group said that their food was delicious! The service was a little slow, but like I said, I'm assuming they were shorthanded. It's pretty pricey but it seemed like just about everything in the park was. The atmosphere and service were amazing. The lamb burger and lamb meatballs were very flavorful. The calamari was good however the portion size is kinda small. The fries tasted a like they were old and they just refried them to make them hot again. It is pricey to eat here however food quality was good minus the portion size of some of the items and how the fries tasted. The service was great and eating inside a structure made to represent a cave with a/c was nice on a 100+ degree day. read more

We've been to Islands a million times and never noticed this restaurant here. My buddy suggested we eat here last time around and I absolutely loved it. I immediately said I will have to bring my wife she will really enjoy the menu. Fast Forward Well... here we are This restaurant is visually appealing the decor is beautiful. Like being in a fancy cave in the movie Simbad lol. Today we ordered the spanakopita dip with pita and the Lemon hummus to start as appetizers. Those pita breads are freaking addictive! Had to order a 2nd order of the pita! For entree we shared the beef medallions with potato pure (pinky finger up) aka mashed potatoes and spinach. The food was all very tasty everything paired great. Mythos is a nice big restaurant where you can have many different dish. Burger, sandwich, pasta, fish, meat, chicken, Asian, salads, soups.. Name it! There's also a kid menu, drink menu and sometime they have event menu. I suggest reserving although they might have walk-in wait list, but the reservation can be made online, by phone or at the door. I have tried the spinach and Garlic Ravioli. This is a vegetarian (not vegan) meal. The description says spinach and roasted garlic ravioli, Davina tomatoes, sweet peas, herb whipped ricotta, basil cream sauce. You can surely taste the garlic a lot, so if you don't like the taste of garlic or roasted garlic, this dish won't be for you. But if you're the type that like it, it's really good. It might seems small, but it's ravioli, give it time to sink down in your stomach. Else, there's always desert on the menu or treats in the park. My girlfriend took the balsamic Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The description says marinated grilled chicken breast, roasted garlic lime cilantro aioli, bacon, grilled red onion, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella cheese, served with French fries. She switched the side of French fries for a ceasar salad instead ($). She really liked it, although part of the chicken was burned and hard so she left that part out. But otherwise, it was really good. You might see some complaints over wait time or waiter not being present. For me, I have this "problem" everywhere and it's due to short staff everywhere, so I'm not taking this into account, I understand and see all the waiter doing there job properly as fast as they can. I'll surely come back here on a next trip to try something else. The burger looked delicious too, and normally I would take that but I though after 4 meal of burger, I should eat something else. read more
