I was skeptical, even this restaurant was rated the best theme park restaurant in the world by "Theme Park Insider" But I got the reservation for dinner while I was visiting Universal Studio. I wanted to try what the hype is all about. The lady who took us to a table was unfriendly. We asked her nicely if we could sit by the window. She said, "You guys need to wait for a while for that" We were not happy about her response. We requested for her manager to assist us. Her manager came in quickly and asked her if we could sit by the window. She said quickly "Sure, no problem" Let's talk about the food. Mediterranean Grilled Octopus: The Octopus was nicely cooked. The roasted garlic lime aioli was refreshing. Pan Roasted Wild Salmon: I enjoyed this dish. Forbidden black fried rice was cooked nicely. Romesco sauce was added to the salmon. Chocolate-Hazelnut Crème Brûlée: It was delicious. Penne with Garlic Cream Sauce from Kids menu: The pasta was too cold, and only the plate was warm. During a fun filled day at Universal Studios/ IOA we had decided to stop by Mythos to grab a bite to eat for lunch. Now we have heard such great things about this restaurant from friends so we knew this was a spot that we must try. Let's first start out with the restaurant itself, it was visually STUNNING. It literally feels like you stepped into another world the moment you enter the restaurant. From the walls to the sculptures everything was just so carefully thought of... and it was something I truly appreciated. The service was top notch! Everyone from the host to the server were all so helpful, attentive, and kind. We got there almost right when they opened so we were seated almost immediately. Our server specifically was so awesome, she gave us a great rundown of the menu and made our dining experience extra special. Now for the food, this is where it was a bit of a hit or a miss for me. I must say that the item that I enjoyed the most was probably the spanakopita dip... it was everything you could have ever wanted and more. It came with warm pita chips and an oh so delicious and creamy spinach dip... my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The entrees themselves were just alright for me, I had the lamb burger which was a bit dry but had some nice flavors. I had also tried my friend's pad Thai which was alright as well but the chicken in it was a bit overdone. I must say overall the flavors were there in all the dishes but there were definitely a few technical issues with the dishes. I also had their signature potions drink which came in a HUGE cup, and even though it was very refreshing... it was a tad bit on the sweeter side for my taste. Overall, I must say that this was a good experience for a "theme park restaurant". I say if you are looking for a nice sit down restaurant after a long day at the parks then this could be definitely an option to choose from. read more

The appetizers were AMAZING. The main courses however were just okay. The appetizers were exploding with flavors and amazing presentation. We got the appetizers to share and we could not pick which one was our favorite because we loved them all so much. For my entree I got risotto and the texture of the risotto was horrible and completely ruined the meal. The risotto was the main star of the plate so this being off threw the entire entree off balance. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and the theme was fun to be in. Bonnie was my server - probably the best waitress I've ever had in Universal, and I've eaten at a lot of restaurants in the parks/city walk. She deserves all the praise in the world, rare that I small talk with people, but it was fun with her. The actual ambiance can't be matched, one of the best themed restaurants there is. Between the fountain and the water that runs through the entire restaurant, as well as the views of Velocicoaster, just incredible. The music was very nice too. The food now here is where I was considering docking a star. I wasn't in love with my Wedge Salad, and my Father didn't love his Pad Thai. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price. The other time I ate, I had similar feelings about the grilled cheese. Just mediocre food. But, I can't take a star off because in there, I had one of the best desserts I've ever had at any restaurant, which is the Cinnamon Bread Pudding. I am so glad it is a permanent fixture now, because without it, I wouldn't be back. In the future, I will probably go back just for dessert until some new things are put on the menu itself. read more

The main course and appetizers were great, and the restaurant's physically beautiful, but guests are packed-in to the brim, making the resonance chamber space feel like nothing more than a loud cafeteria -- which it essentially is. Our waitress had a pleasant personality, checked in and refilled waters when needed. Felt like we had to wait longer than necessary, and I think that's due to understaffing, as some tables out on the patio remained empty while we ate. I chose to go with two appetizers, their Lamb Meatballs and Semolina Crusted Calamari. My parents got the Chicken Kabob Bowl. Everything was flavorful. Loved my lightly semolina-dusted fried calamari. I'm not a big lemon fan, so I didn't really dip in the aioli (that didn't ruin the app at all). My Lamb Meatballs came with buttery grits and the dish was absolutely excellent! The meaty, tender meatballs pared so well with the grits - my first taste of grits - and it was filling and flavorful! I didn't care much for the plated tomato sauce, kept tasting notes of barbecue sauce, which I'm not much for, but it didn't detour from the main attraction at all. It took a bit longer than expected to get our check. We had to wait for our waitress to come back outside; but, the flavorful food we had helped to sway our moods and we left with full and happy tummies. read more

We ordered the Spanakopita Dip and noticed that the recruiter was off, then found dip caked, hard, and burned onto the bowl itself. When asked, the waiter explained that the dip is microwaved. For a theme park restaurant, I was pretty impressed by Mythos! It was super easy to make a reservation through the Universal Parks app, I made it about an hour before we went! I think you have to do that if you want to eat there, so just a heads up. But the workers were sooo nice! Cindy, our hostess was literally the sweetest lady and I enjoyed talking with her as we walked to be seated. Our waitress, I can't remember her name but she had glasses and dark hair, she was just so adorable and helpful and attentive, she was great. They had a lot of yummy options of food, really a good variety. I got the grilled cheese with tomato soup. I really enjoyed the combo of the sandwich dipped in the soup, but the soup on its own was pretty average. The Pad Thai was really good though! Different from your typical Pad Thai, but I reallyyyy liked it, plus there's shrimp with it. I'd also recommend the artichoke dip for an app! They had these thick pita chips that were definitely homemade and fantastic to eat the dip with. Yum. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here because the decoration and setup of the restaurant, along with the friendly workers, was so nice! This is a great place to eat in Universal! The atmosphere is nice and the decor around the restaurant was really detailed to make it feel Mediterranean. We got the Mezze platter and the lamb shank. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling so great after a rough ride so I didn't have much of an appetite so I snacked on the platter for the most part. The platter was delicious and the lamb shank was even better! The lamb was so tender and very tasty. We also got the spanakopita dip to share with our friends and it was also really good. It's a shame that my appetite was messed up because my husband still raves about this restaurant being one of the top places to eat while in Universal. read more

One of my favorite restaurants at Universal Studios. The outside and inside of the restaurant is breathtaking. I absolutely love eating here not only for the food and drinks but the ambiance. It's a unique themed restaurant that makes you feel like your somewhere else other than a theme park. We had reservations for lunch and were sat down in a timely manner. Our server Steven was amazing! He was so kind, personable and helpful. The appetizers were really good but my favorite was the Mediterranean grilled octopus. I highly recommend it! I've had octopus at a lot of places and this is by far my favorite octopus appetizer it's so flavorful! The fish of the season was delicious and you can't go wrong with the lamb burger. My favorite cocktail is the potion of the gods I love the fruity flavors and how big the drinks is. Everything here is so delicious! Update coming through! Unfortunately, this update is not 100% a continuation of this amazing restaurant's greatness, though most of the experience was perfection. We booked our reservation more than a week out, knowing the holiday rush is definitely in session at UO. Since joining the UOAP family, we have been able to enjoy the small but great finds of each park, and this restaurant is one of them! Let's start with the check-in experience as it was not great. If you're going to be the first face of the restaurant, you should be friendly and hospitable. And if we hadn't been here a number of time before and knew the food was top notch, I would have responded with "Then please cancel my reservation." I walked up to the check-in with Kerry, and she stared very coldly (no smile, no grin, no welcome, no "how are you", nothing). I said, "Checking in--we are 10 mins early but figured we'd see if the table was ready." She states, everyone's here? I answer yes. She says, take a seat, it'll be around 10mins. With that insight, I said "Awesome, we're actually going to walk around the corner to see the water view and maybe take advantage of the smoking section to vape for a second. Is that okay?" She responds with "I don't know what to tell you, Mr. Tyler." And shrugged. I've worked in 5-Star restaurant down to fast-casual and never have I been pushed aside like that. It was an easy answer-" That should be fine. The host will text you when the table is ready." That's my complaint. We go to the water view and vape for 5mins or so, get the text and get seated. Easy as that. Great service inside the walls, we had Jamie as our server and she was amazing. Super laid back, but still on her toes for excellence-always what I've noticed from these Mythos servers. They always maintain their composure, no matter what they encounter. We of course, indulged the Potion of the Gods, and the dip platter (weird name and can't remember it), then enjoyed ourselves the grilled cheese (not your typical, but 10x better!) and 3 of us got the award winning and unbeatable Beef Medallions. Melt in your mouth quality, and expected nothing different! The bad experience at check-in will be remembered, but will never deter us from returning to enjoy this magnificent find for ours and our visiting friends' and family's enjoyment. read more

Whatever you do, do not come here! My party of 4 dined here for dinner having been drawn in with the top theme park restaurant banner they had hanging outside. We were very disappointed. The food did not meet our expectations. We also ordered a kids meal and the pizza never came. We had to ask for it and the server said he forgot to enter it. So my son's pizza came last while everyone was done eating. Overall, it was overpriced for entrees that we did not enjoy. I think we were looking forward to the ravioli the most but it was so disappointing. The short rib dish was okay. It had very soft short rib that fell apart but a lot of variety in the dish that minimized the amount of meat with it. read more

Despite going to Universal a few times in our lives, this was both of our first time dining at Mythos. The decor inside is beautiful and interesting to look at. The walls are carved to make it feel like you are in some kind of mystical cave, and it's so cool! For appetizers we ordered the Calamari and the Octopus. We preferred the calamari since we found to octopus to be a little chewy, however it was our first time having octopus in general so it could be that's how it always is! For our entrees I got the Gnocchi Bolognese and my husband got the Fresh Catch which the grouper. Everything was very tasty! My gnocchi was perfect and filling. The grouper was nicely cooked and super buttery. For dessert Chocolate Hazelnut Creme Brulee, so good and a great way to end the meal. The decor brought us in. Other picture show how beautiful and fun this place is. I ordered the Souvlaki Couscous Dish and it was amazing. It was light and flavorful. I would love to order this again. Will probably try to replicate it at home. My kids got the garlic cream penne. The kids dish was a pretty big portion and very filling. Honestly they could have shared one kids order. My son wanted chicken added to his penne and even though it's not on the menu they were able to add a grilled chicken to his dish. Sometimes i wonder if i go to Universal parks for the restaurant. If there were more stars to give, i would gladly. This is my 4th time here and i got to try a new shrimp appetizer they had on the menu which was honestly the highlight my whole universal parks trip. The creamy red sauce it came in was unlike anything i've had. The pad thai was delicious as usual although the presentation had changed. Hummus with pita, always a classic. Drinks were superb too.
