I dined here today for my birthday celebration. I was alone because of work schedule. My waitress was a very sweet, young blond lady. She was friendly, professional and gave me great customer service. The food was very good. Towards the end of my meal I was rudely interrupted by the restaurant manager yelling at my waitress and having a discussion that should have happened behind closed doors just between the two of them. I could not finish my meal. I got a box to go for my unfinished meal. Was planning on having dessert but decided against that because I just wanted to leave. I told the manager that I heard her loud mouth(I am sure everybody did!) She gave me a sarcastic, heartless apology. I feel really bad for the staff that works there. This lady needs demoted or let go. She is not the kind of manager that a thriving restaurant needs. I ate here yesterday for the first time, great restaurant, I understand that they just reopened and food was great, menu selection was larger than I thought it would be and nice people working there. I was hungry so had every intention of leaving with leftovers, ordered hummus, pastitsio for my meal, and a pizza, yep, I was hungry. I had a slice of pizza and planned on bringing the rest home, the pizza was very very good, the crust was good, cheese and sauce layout was perfecto ( i used to make pizzas), I ordered the pastitsio on the restaurants recommendation, I have never had it before and wasnt sure what it was. It was great , came with a nice salad and ate all of it where I could not eat any more pizza before leaving, which is unusual for me(trust me I ate later that night), anyway, great place , great menu and great value. I liked to visit this establishment during my lunch break, but lately, the service has been terrible. Seriously, this is not gourmet food. It is decent, but definitely no where near fantastic. They take way too long to bring out the food and your drink goes unfilled. Won't be visiting again anytime soon. read more

A horrible place to eat. Tiffany, our first server, was rude and coped an attitude when asked if they have a slice of feta for an appetizer. We got up to leave and the owner asked us what happened and asked to give them another chance. We did, with a different server, Jordan who was on point. I had the Greek Combination platter. The Moussaka and Spanakopita tasted like it was bought from the grocery store two years ago. Jenn's chow wasn't good either, chicken souvlaki. Greek potatoes were very bland. I really wanted to give this a 5 star review but unfortunately the poor customer service has reduced it to a 3 star. First off, the food was good, of what we received. With the current pandemic, we used a third party delivery service to order dinner and continue to support local restaurants. Our order was delivered incorrectly and upon calling the restaurant to find resolution, I was cut off by the employee when explaining the situation and became rude stating it was not their mistake. As she mentioned, it may not have been their mistake but rather a mistake of the delivery service, but the problem is there seems to be a disconnect between the business and the delivery service when using it to order from this establishment. I wish that this situation was handled in a more appropriate way rather than immediately becoming defensive and placing blame elsewhere. I will continue to support mediocre restaurants with great customer service versus a good restaurant with poor customer service and from my experience tonight, Mythos falls under the latter category. read more

The food is okay but the staff SUCKS. I get better service at McDonald's the black chick had a attitude over the phone when placing my order, I thought it was due to being busy...I get there and they aren't. Then I think it's good that I didn't have to deal with her when I got there but the skinny white chick woth a Mohawk cut is even worse! You'll be satisfied woth the food but the staff will ruin it so it would be a no for me going back because the service makes up everything. read more

Karen and I love Mythos and visit it often. It's a family run affair with many wait staff who have been with the restaurant for years. Friendly southern service. Want an extra lemon slice with the water or tea? Ya got it. Service is prompt, courteous and special requests are no problem. I wanted a grilled chicken breast with the Greek salad. I got it. The Greek salad is a favorite with both of us. All of the vegetables are extremely fresh and crisp! Eating it is like being lost in a lush garden. I recommend the fantastic house dressing. Too bad they don't bottle it to take home. Pasta dishes cater to the cheese lover. Many of them come topped with melted, slightly browned cheese (the pasta, not the cheese lover). Wonderful pizzas too. The garlic and cheese is great, and you'll find all the traditional toppings of sausage, pepperoni, etc. available. Atmosphere is quiet and neighborly. It's frequented by many locals. There is a cooler at the cash register station to temp you with deserts to take home. I believe Mrs. Mythos (not her real name) makes most of them in house. There is always a big variety and all are excellent. Take home a slice of baklava cheesecake or a cannoli. Then come back for more Greek and Italian comfort food. read more

A reasonably good restaurant it has good Italian and Greek although if you only want a specific one it is not the best. It is best to bring larger groups for a more variety of a menu. Overall though it is a good restaurant. read more

Mythos is one of a few Greek / Italian restaurants here in the Upstate of South Carolina. It's a nice place with friendly service. The food is very good, lots of it, and at a good price. Yesterday my wife and I stopped for lunch. I had their Veal Parmesan. It was really delicious, their meat sauce is tasty, and I ended up taking half of it home because the serving size was enormous. My wife had their Gyros. It's carved off the spit and she said it was great. We didn't have a desert, but as usual in Greek restaurants, they are displayed in a glass case in front. They look great. Started going here about 4 months ago, WAS really tasty and also tasted authentic. I'm from Chicago where there is a gyro on almost every menu, so I know my expectations are really high. The decline in the quality of food is horrible, the gyros taste like they bought the meat frozen already chopped and then warmed it on a flat top, rubbery flavorless pieces of meat. The Greek salad is a joke old wilted lettuce and they only give you one olive. Very disappointed with the drop in quality. read more

Beware of the large banner above the front door that states that on Wednesdays, kids eat for $1.99. My granddaughter had the chicken fingers off the kids menu. Only when paying the bill did the cashier inform me that the special is for spaghetti only. Huh? That is not explained anywhere in the restaurant or on the sign. False advertising! read more

We ate at Mythos in the past and it was pretty good. The food today was so disappointing that we will not go back. My husband had the gyro platter - the meat was dry and the fries was undercooked and soggy. My soulvaki sandwich was so soggy, it was not possible to pick it up to eat it. I may have overlooked it if tasted good but unfortunately that was not the case. Will not go back. read more

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our visit tonight. My husband's order was wrong; he was given Greek potatoes instead of fries. The waitress knew the order was wrong when she delivered it because she advised us that she would still bring the fries when they were finished cooking. She served our remaining food. We ate slowly because we anticipated that the fries would arrived quickly. By the time the fries were delivered, we had finished our meal and had been waiting for 10 minutes after we had finished. My husband declined the fries as we were finished eating and the fires were not completely cooked. They were lifeless and pale. When we wait to the desk to pay, the employee would take only $2 off the bill. We will not return to Mythos. read more

I just had the manicotti, and it tasted burnt and slightly off. It was kind of bland. The garlic bread was a huge piece of white bread, half dipped in butter and the side salad was lettuce, a piece of tomato and some cheese. I have eaten at Mythos before and the food was much better but that was about 2 years ago. Very disappointing. read more

I was looking for pasta dinners to pick up the night before the Spinx Half Marathon on Halloween, Mythos came highly recommended from a friend. I called it in and stopped in twenty minutes later to pick it up. It was very reasonably priced, piping hot when I got it home, the perfect amount of food and delicious. After having visited Mythos for about 13 years, we decided to call it quits when we picked up our pizza and found a worm cooked on it. When I returned it to them, I calmly requested my money back, which they gave, when the smarty pants manager said 'oh! I solved it - it's an anchovy." I said ' I've been buying and eating anchovies my entire life (50+ years) and never saw such a thing' She then said 'well, you get a free pizza" at which time I said 'thanks but I don't want one' and she then said I could eat the one I had! That immediately put me in WTHYTT??! mode. I took pictures of it while in the restaurant. The owner was out of town and the staff, except for this acting manager and the boy who was taking money, were very nice and apologetic. I said back to her 'why would I eat this with a worm on it!' I wanted to yell at the top my lungs to all the people who were there - its filth and incompetent, but I didn't,,she just made me entirely disgusted. When I phoned the owner after she returned, she also tried to insult my intelligence by saying it was an anchovy - I told her ', no, anchovies aren't 4 inches long and look like worms. So now, we tell everyone wherever we go about Mythos. DON'T GO!!!! read more

So sad this restaurant cannot manage its people and take care of their customers. Friday night 6:30, no wait but we noticed a problem. All the customers seemed to be waiting for their meals. An average of one out of ten tables had their food. The others were upset, very upset. The servers are marginal. Order salad with blue cheese it will come with house dressing. Order unsweet tea, it will be replaced with Coke. And the excuses for poor service are equal to "my dog ate my homework". The server was apologizing and told customers that the cooks did not defrost enough food for a Friday night. Finally the server told us that she was going to give us a free piece of cake for our troubles, and the "bitchy" manager who was operating the cash register was mad at the servers for offering a "peace offering" to the patrons. She even mentioned it was to be paid for by the server. This is not the first time the manager has been vocal. It is my humble opinion the restaurant needs a managerial makeover. The food is good, be prepared to wait, and if you see them serve you with paper cups that is an indicator to go home. Someone is not doing the dishes.....Poor service.....and please remove the thumping music you are playing on your sound system. read more

We have eaten at mytho's for years and have loved it. The original owner sold out and went to Greece and the food was still good. The original owner returned and bought it back and still great. Several months ago it was sold. Since then we have been 5 times. The first time, our pizza, which is usually great, came out at room temp. They reheated and it was fine. The second time was ok. The last two times have been disappointing to say the least. We had a calzone come out that had so much fluid running out of it that the bottom crust was soaked by the time it got to us and we had to wait while they made a new one. Last night, I ordered a hamburger and fries, usually great. The burger came out lukewarm and the fries were cold and limp. I sent it back and the owner told the waitress she would microwave it for me.. I made sure the waitress, who was lovely, told the owner that if that occurred she could count this as our last visit. I waited again for a hot meal and it was ok. The owner came out once to bring drinks to a table to assist a waitress and she never stopped chewing her gum, with her mouth open, while assisting customers. I was under the impression that she, would be by to check on our table after our incident. The answer to that is no. Apparently the only thing this lady, Maria, knows about running a restaurant is how to put money in the register. I don't think we will be back and that makes me sad as we like to shop local. Our kids and their family have had the same type issues. So sorry to see a good place run down by people who either don't know how to run a place or don't care. read more

Mythos is your average, run-of -the-mill Greek/Italian restaurant. The menu is basic, pizza, calzones, spaghetti - good but nothing spectacular. I visited a few times in the past and was unimpressed by the underage, under-trained teenybopper servers that had to keep looking at the menu to verify if they had the items I tried to order. A few weeks back I gave it another try and was delighted to find an adult server - ALLISON - that could actually answer my questions and remember my order!!!! What a concept. I should have know it was too good to be true. I went back for lunch today, and I asked for Allison and was told she no longer worked there. Guess what??? It was bad service all over again. It says something about a restaurant that can not keep or appreciate good employees. My order was wrong - I never got any salad dressing, or a straw ,or a drink refill...My ticket was unreadable and not even totaled!! The "Manager" ( an older bald man) seemed a little too preoccupied with following the young girls around and flirting to actually take care of the customers. If you want good Italian/ Greek food & service go to the Acropolis or the Olympian, or even Capri's. If you want OK food & to be waited on by amateurs, go to Mythos. read more
