Soup tasted really good but had very small (almost minced) pieces of chicken. It would have been much better if chicken pieces were little bigger. Platter had spring rolls, fried shrimp, chicken in skewer and was good. For entrees we got a bunch of dishes like shrimp pad Thai, drunken noodle, pineapple fried rice, tamarind chicken. Everything was good but my fav was tamarind chicken. Quantity was pretty reasonable for the price. For dessert we got the sampler and best sample was fried banana with icecream. Seriously one of the worst Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Came here with a bunch of friends because we were drawn in by the menu that said Lobster pad Thai noodles. Needless to say all our dishes sucked. Drunken noodles were AWFUL see the picture. Looks and tasted like old spaghetti sauce since it's a red sauce and doused with tons of chilis to try and make it authentic. The pad Thai was equally as bad. Very watery. The papaya salad had no flavor and the crab cake was just mushy batter. The chicken green curry tasted okay. Lots of chicken but that's it. The sauce was bland with a green curry sauce that tasted like a TV dinner. The Thai tea was super bitter and tasted old. I discovered this restaurant on a hunt to try new food. I had Thai food before but that was on cruise ship and resorts which isn't the same as authentic Thai food. When I first looked at the menu, the prices and food options looked intriguing to me. I order sweet and spicy noodles which were amazing. Next I got the calamari with banana sauce. I still don't know what banana sauce is. It was green and taste good to me. I would get it again. For my main course I got the sweet and sour chicken. Also very good. With all the food you have the option on having no spice, mild, medium or spicy. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because one of my dishes didn't come out. I guess the forgot about it. Great Ambiance, the food was delicious. I highly recommend ordering the pineapple fried rice. Our waiter was friendly and provided great recommendations but throughout the night we had to seek him out for water refills, removing empty appetizers plates before bringing the main course. You're actually served a cut out pineapple with rice inside and the rice has all the right flavors to make it so perfect. The mango chicken was just as good. With the Yelp checkin we received a free Thai tea and I wasn't much of a fan but my bf enjoyed it a lot. God I hate to say this during the pandemic + as a former service worker but jesus this place sucked. Service was OK, food was not. Granted this review was for about a year ago before the pandemic hit. We ordered fried calamari during the winter time. Maybe that was a dumb decision to begin with but whatever. It arrived and it didn't look fresh. When I ate it, it tasted even worse. I sent it back which I normally don't do unless it's absolutely horrible...it was. I wasn't going to eat it. The manager or maybe owner came by (older man) to take the plate away and started interrogating my partner and I about the fried calamari...he asked us what was wrong with it. I said it tasted too fishy and not fresh. He took it anyway, asked if we wanted something to substitute for it and I think we ordered a soup or something. This man came back minutes later and said "I tried the calamari and it tasted fine to me. I don't know if you've ever really tried calamari before." ...sir, if I hadn't ever tried calamari before, I wouldnt have anything to base my comments on how nasty your restaurant's calamari was. I would just think it's fine. The fact that he basically was saying, you don't know what you're talking about really pissed me off. I ordered pad see ew with just veggies which is pretty hard to mess up. It was fine, good even. Partner ordered a duck dish and again it wasn't fresh but we didn't even bother. Came here tonight with friends and we ordered the Black Pepper Chicken, Hakka Noodles w/Chicken and the Crispy Tamarind Chicken. All were excellent and were ordered with medium spice, for me its more than enough to start breaking a sweat :D . The restaurant is very clean, spacious and customer service was very friendly! I should have definitely read the more recent reviews before coming here. Came with my husband for a late lunch during the week. Nobody was there and we were immediately greeted and seated. Not long after we sat down five other tables sat down. We definitely took this as a good sign because it was a pretty random time for lunch (around 2-2:30) and too early for even an early dinner. Service was very friendly. I ordered the drunken noodles (medium spicy) and my husband ordered the very spicy peppers and chicken. Mine came out ridiculously spicy and my husbands had barely any spice to it. The food wasn't terrible but not the best. If you're looking for great Thai go 10 min north or south of here. This is the place to get Thai in East Brunswick. Whether it's ordering takeout or waiting an hour to get seated, my family has eaten here several times. The black pepper chicken, drunken noodles and basil fried rice are all awesome. But the best dish by far is the coconut shrimp curry. It comes in an actual coconut with whole shrimp hanging over the edge as a garnish. It is very mild and super flavorful, and has pieces of soft cooked coconut in the curry that melts in your mouth. The best part is if you order it to go, they give you the entire coconut wrapped in Saran Wrap! You can still get the restaurant experience at home. To finish, the dessert my family and I dream about (not kidding) - coconut fried ice cream. It's vanilla ice cream, with a fried crust piled with flakes of coconut, chocolate sauce and a decorative solid chocolate garnish. It comes warm and is absolutely amazing. To go, they give it in a nice plastic container and ask for a specific time of arrival so the ice cream doesn't melt. Talk about great service! read more

Really liked this place. Mainly cause the lunch special was well worth the price. At $8.95 you can get a drink, appetizer, and entree. I got the spring rolls as my app and beef pad Thai as my entree. The spring rolls comes in a small portion but they weren't bad. I really enjoyed my pad Thai, good portion size, kinda on the sweeter side but I like that. The drunken noodles my sis got, although a popular dish, wasn't as good as the other noodles and pad Thai. We finished with fried coconut ice cream which had a nice crispy exterior and smooth creamy ice cream on the inside, topped off with decorative flower made of chocolate. This was our first time. We had passed this place plenty of times but never really thought to stop in just because we have our favorite Thai place that we frequent in Manalapan. (The bathroom on the other hand could use a bit of attention. The bathroom floors were gross and "greasy") Second, the staff and waitress were very nice and attentive. So having a 4 year old child with who was hungry was getting quite antsy. Third and the most important- food! The food is O.K. It's the time that I would say "oh hey let's take a detour and eat here". The spring was lacking in favor and the spring roll dip could use a bit more "ump" to it. (It just had a weird aftertaste that I can't seem to put my finger on it). The green curry was o.k. As well as I felt the ratio to chicken and bamboo was lacking too. The presentation for each dish as I was discussing with my husband could be improved. And of course of beef pad see ew was the best. (I mean thats not the usual dish my husband would like but he finished it.) We also came on "ladies night" (Tuesday) that we weren't aware of and not the front desk or waitress mentioned to us as we were seated and that certain dishes were 50%. I can start off by saying, it was a steady night for them. The staff was great. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and seated promptly, but the dining area was cold. For some reason there is an opening to the front door from the dining area following a long glass partition to the host desk which was an open passageway for the frigid blast to come from outside. Other than that poor design, the place is immaculate, nice ambiance and beautiful fixtures. The multi ethnic wait staff was friendly, young and very accommodating. It was obvious that they were trying their best but perhaps with better training and more coordination their efforts would have been more effective. With a party of 3, I anticipated our experience to be very simple and straightforward. The table and silverware were nicely set. We were served water by the same server who took our order and she promptly asked if we were ready to order drinks. I was ok with the order but my one guest ordered ginger ale and midway in response to the cool draft. I asked if we could have hot tea for the table. The server was very friendly, English speaking and she appeared to understand the request. We also requested to start off with the veggie spring rolls while she got the drinks. When she arrived with the drinks, she brought a personal sized tea kettle and one tea cup along with the ginger ale --sans ice? I politely brought the confusion up to her attention and she apologized and said she would bring it. She then took our entree orders but I was still on the fence about my order so I asked her to put in their orders while I decided. I also told her that I had a yelp coupon for the Thai Iced Tea and she said that she would check with her manager. We waited about 10 minutes and she returned (sans hot tea and sans Spring Rolls) and said that her manager said ok and that she needed my phone to verify the Thai Tea. I gave her my phone and she left for about 5-7 minutes and returned with only the Thai Iced Tea. I then placed my order because at this point we were super hungry and waiting anxiously for our appetizer that never came. Within the next 15 minutes, our conversations began focusing on the lack of food on the table and how long it could possibly take to fry up some veggie spring rolls!? However, we could not negate the fact that we still hadn't received the hot tea for the table either. Ten minutes later a plate came our way via a new face and said "did you guys order a veggie platter?" We replied that we ordered veggie spring rolls and he said "no, veggie platter.." He proceeded to ask neighboring tables but none responded. He quickly retreated back to the kitchen. My suggestion to him would have been to address our concern of missing spring rolls instead of finding the mystery owner of said veggie platter. But I digress.. As more diners continued to arrive, I was trying to convince myself that the food must be worth it but I would never know because after sitting there for about 45 minutes, sipping on our ginger ale, Thai Iced Tea and hot green tea cup, we gave up and said perhaps it's too busy of a night for them and we spoke to the young manager before leaving and he said "I can fix it, if you sit down..I mean it's gonna take a little more time but it'll be done?" The walls are lined with beautiful pieces of artwork, with cute oriental umbrellas hanging upside down in the waiting and seating areas. The food, in general, was a bit disappointing. Each dish came in a bowl filled to the brim with sauce and garnishes. My chili garlic tofu and vegetables did have some peppery spice and saltiness to them, but amidst a bowl of otherwise flavorless liquid, much of the texture and taste of the roasted vegetables and chili peppers were unfortunately lost. Similar sentiments came from my dining companions. Amidst a sea of positive reviews, I am hesitant to post this one up. Perhaps they had an off day.
