We also got the Thai Iced tea for free by checking-in on Yelp. And for dessert we tried the FBI which were fried bananas wrapped in thin spring roll sheets with vanilla ice cream with a caramel drizzle. The other dessert dish that is our favorite is the ice cream wrapped in a coconut shell. The owner is really nice and welcoming.Great place for good quality halal food. I've been coming to N Thai Palace since college so I was pleasantly surprised to see they moved over a few doors into a bigger and fancier space. Onto bigger and better things as they say. Definitely one of the better Thai food places in the area, although they too have started to go easy on the spice levels since growth in popularity. My go-tos are always the classic pad thai and pineapple fried rice. I love the fried rice. It's filling and flavorful, albeit slightly under-salted. I appreciate the fact that they put the fried rice into a fresh pineapple. The drinks here are also great. I love getting the mango lassi, it's just so refreshing. And now with the new location and ambience I feel like I'm eating hot Thai food in a spa. Very odd ambience. But oddly enjoyable. The waiters this time were a little rude and rushed us out of there. But my friend and I also arrives 30 min before they were closing so... understandable. I will return during not so late business hours and hope for more patient service, but otherwise, no complaints! read more

So it took me so long to write this review because I knew it was going to be a long one ! But all I can say is phenomenal! I came here on Mothers Day the busiest day in the restaurant industry with a party of 14! And it was still exceptional they were able to give us a private room that was very intimate, even the very setting of the table was immaculate. We ordered a lot of food, and I made sure to get a taste of them all ! I was truly pleased the presentation was great and the flavor was right there to match it! But my meal specifically was Awesome ! I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken it was 14 dollars and I got it the rice inside the the pineapple itself ! The rice was spicy with a little bit of sweet because of the pineapple and cranberries inside ! Than we moved on to the dessert I had the coconut fried ice cream and WOWWWW. I am still in love with how great it was because the outside was coated in coconut that was fried it almost tasted like a macaroon ! And it came with a chocolate leaf on the side for the presentation ( which I tasted and loved it ). My dad took me here on a dad-daughter outing, it's a regular spot for my family. The restaurant is big, open, and sleek, which is cool, but I admittedly wished there was a warmer ambience like other tinier thai places. However, the food is good and the portions are pretty big here. The drinks were humongous. I wish I had a ruler because those drinks were as big as my face, and with a Yelp check in, the thai iced tea was complimentary! I also ordered the chicken corn soup as an app that we ended up sharing, it was a nice chicken corn soup with just the right amount of heat on it. I ordered the pad-see-ew, and while this dish can often be oily and heavy, this one was neither. The sauce made the beef a little too over-seasoned for my taste, but it still tasted good. Great atmosphere, perfect for a date spot. The service however could be a lot better. The wait time after ordering was more than an hour and the waiters rarely checked up or give an update. the food was good but not worth the wait, especially being just left to sit there without any updates on our food. The food arrived after an hour and a half and no apology was given. This happened with multiple customers, and yet no apology was made to anyone. The value was worth the extra wait for fork now and spring rolls next ..perhaps too much footfall due to Iftar celebration....the servers were cordial. My family and I came here to celebrate my birthday over dinner. It was also the day after Eid (a Saturday), so the restaurant was quite packed. Although they close at 10, that's definitely more of a deadline to order food by. The food here was absolutely incredible (especially the mains). We had thai wings, chicken satay, and veggie puffs for starters. The veggie puffs were perfect with the sauce. They were like softer, more buttery empanadas. The wings tasted like any normal wings that you could get at a pizzeria or fast food restaurant. The sauce, served on the side, was tasty, but I would have strongly preferred that the wings be dressed in the sauce instead of just being pieces of fried chicken. The chicken satay was also mediocre, but is a great option if you are trying to eat healthy. It was grilled! For our entrees, we ordered beef penang, chili chicken, and the cajun salmon with spinach. The beef penang is some of the best penang I've had outside of Thailand itself- GET THIS. Straight out of flavortown and beef cooked perfectly. The chili chicken was also delicious, especially with the cashews but I think the sauce should be more concentrated to coat the chicken better. The salmon and spinach was an awesome, healthy option for my dad. It was perfectly cooked and very moist. For drinks, we had the thai iced tea and the pink drink with boba, not sure of the same. Both way too sweet. Good, but way too sweet. Couldn't have more than a couple sips. For dessert, we had the mango mousse (AMAZING!!!!!), definitely my favorite, especially the sauce- and the thai coconut fried ice cream, which was also very tasty. Highly recommend both. The reason I'm giving four stars is because this place was not very clean. Maybe because it was a busy weekend, but there were often dirty napkins on the floor, which itself didn't look very clean. The tables didn't look like they were properly cleaned. The bathroom didn't have toilet paper!!!!! I am hoping that this was all because Eid is the busiest time of the year for halal restaurants and I'd definitely go again during off-peak times. This place is great for some Thai/Indian food! They moved from a smaller location to a larger location within the same mall. The new location is very comfortable and has a nice ambience. We came for dinner on Fathers Day and it was moderately busy. We ordered basil fish, fish green curry, duck green curry, mango chicken, lamb red curry, and the coconut shrimp curry. All were pretty good! Special shout it to the coconut shrimp curry that comes in a coconut :) Only thing was the service could have been a bit better. It was a little difficult giving the server our order because of the language barrier. Also, I got the Thai iced tea and comes free with the yelp check in -- had to ask for it twice and they ended up charging me for it. I just let it go because they were suuuuper busy by the time we left. They also have a dinner buffet that starts at 8PM that they didn't have in the previous location. It was SUPER busy once the buffet started. All the food looks really good -- skewers, fried rice, curry sauces. Definitely have to come back soon to try! read more

Giving this place 3 stars because of the nice waiter, delicious coconut crumb fried ice cream and pina colada! The famous pad Thai was not bad, but not great either. The shrimp were cooked well and the presentation was pretty! The chicken satay was saved by the yummy peanut sauce saved by it! Otherwise it just tasted like yogurt marinated chicken. The pineapple fried rice was presented beautifully, and the flavor was there but i don't think it really represented authentic Thai flavors :/. I was looking for good authentic Thai food from Yelp found this place and food looks decent on picture. I ordered a beef pineapple fried rice, beef pad see ewe, green curry and pineapple beef. I must say these are the 4 most awful food I had. The beef is not legit beef. It taste powder substance that I don't know what it is. There is no absolutely any Thai flavor in any of the 4 dishes. Best Thai food in the area. I've never had the food hotter than Mild and Medium, Medium is enough spice for me to enjoy the flavor of the food without being overwhelmed with spice. I order the rice and noodle dishes Mild and curries Medium to balance the spice levels. For the Pad Thai, I will kick it up to Medium. The reason I'm mentioning this is because Hot here is only for the bold, you have to have a high tolerance for spice, or pain, to order Hot, it's really spicy! I've found Thai "hot" to be about 10 times hotter than Indian "hot", so tread lightly. That being said, aside from the usual Thai dishes like curry, noodles, and rice, you have to order the appetizers here. We got the sampler, which came with fried shrimp, egg rolls, chicken satay, and a salad. In addition to that, try the Pepper Shrimp. It's like a shrimp egg roll that comes with the most amazing green minty jelly sauce I've ever tasted. I can't figure out what goes into the green sauce but it tastes good with everything. It can get really packed on the weekends as every Asian in the area likes to eat here, but the wait is worth the quality of the food you get here. Yummyyyyy! We ordered A LOT of food but I posted my favorites. The appetizers were delicious and they came with 3 different sauces. The peanut sauce for the chicken skewers is heavenly. I couldn't get enough of it. We also got the tamarind chicken, grilled shrimp skewers, tum yum soup and green curry. Everything was amazing. I definitely recommend the tamarind chicken the most. We ordered Penang Curry, Singapore Noodles, Chili Garlic Noodles, Drunken Noodles, and we also ordered a Thai Iced Tea because with a yelp check in, the coupon said a free Thai Iced Tea - which by the way - the coupon does not work on 50% off nights. Our waiter didn't know and told us he'd give it to us without charge because it was his mistake. I don't know if this is considered authentic Thai food. Whatever it is, it's damn good. Food 5/5 I've been here multiple times. Busy nights or otherwise and it's always consistent in taste and portion. I highly recommend the pineapple fried rice with beef or chicken, black pepper chicken, or the chili lamb. The presentation for the pineapple fried rice is so clean, it's served in a half pineapple. Black pepper chicken is pretty straight forward but it's so good and the chili lamb has some profound and deep flavors. Service 2/5 It's not the greatest. They need more servers to accommodate how busy it gets. Front of house is essentially the one manager who's handling a madhouse. Also, they don't come around often so if you need something it will take forever until you flag one down. Disappointed in that regard. Ambience 3/5 This place is so small and cramped. It's one long and narrow rectangle. Bathroom is...just is. Could be cleaner. There's a lot oriental influences but there's nothing exciting. I've heard they have since moved to a new location, I will update as soon as possible. In conclusion, I'm being generous with my stars because of the food. The service sucks at best but they're actually nice people. It's BYO so maybe that will ease the annoyance. Or make you spaz, either will make a memorable night though. read more

Not 100 percent sure if This is related to the store in Somerset. However, the food here is far below what I would consider good. I tried the duck Curry. The sauce itself was fine, not too spicy but still nice flavor. The potatoes were raw no where near cooked. The duck was very gamy. It was not tender and a total turnoff. There were 2 bones in my dish as well so not even prepped well. The sauce and speed of the food was the only thing keeping my rating above a 1. My wife and I were looking for a good Thai restaurant to go to since we're recently moved to Woodbridge. This place has good reviews and wasn't too far away. We ordered the papaya salad and the golden tofu along with the "famous pad Thai" and drunken noodles. --The papaya salad was very dull (some weak fish sauce with overwhelming lime juice) --The golden tofu was different, crispier than what we were used to, but it was decent. --The pad thai....was really bad. Mostly soaked with tamarin sauce, barely any of the ingredients listed in the description. In fact, it doesn't really look like a pad thai at all. See picture for reference. --The drunken noodles was pretty bad also. It has a strong tomato and basil taste which made me feel like I was eating a confusing pasta dish. Once again, doesn't look like a drunken noodle dish. Service was meh. Didn't get our water refill until we were ready to head out. Waiter only came to bring us the food. Also, the restaurant was nearly empty but it took the waiters way too long to place our order, get our drinks, and didn't even check on us to see what we thought about the food. One star is better than none. N Thai earns one star for good service including a constantly full glass of water. I started with their "Green Monster" bubble tea drink with kiwi and star fruit juice and tapioca balls. It tasted like the fruit juice components but very watered down. The tapioca balls were still raw and hard, so basically, inedible. Then I had the "Thai Som Tum"- a raw papaya salad with long green beans, sweet tamarind sauce, lemon, and peanut. Bland. I couldn't taste the papaya, sauce, or lemon at all. For entrees, I had the "Garden Vegetables with Tofu in Black Bean Sauce" and "Stuffed Steam Tofu with Cashew Nuts in Ginger Sauce." For the first entree, the sauce seemed to be missing along with any black bean flavor. For the second entree, I could hardly taste the ginger. Both dishes were watery and lacked flavor. My boyfriend and I went here on a Friday evening where there was about a 30 minute wait. The ambiance of the place is a definite plus and there is a large fish tank in the center of the eating area. I ordered the Grilled Garlic Shrimp and my boyfriend ordered the Beef Pad See. Both of us really enjoyed the food and it came out relatively quickly after being seated. The only problem we had with the restaurant was the service. They seem to be understaffed as our waitress was running around all night and it was impossible to get more water. We also did not have utensils or napkins until hunting down the waitress (who never ended up bringing the napkins). I had N Thai Palace bookmarked for quite some time after seeing Yelp reviews. My family and I came here for lunch on Father's Day and were seated right away! My dad ordered a cashew chicken curry (spicy) and enjoyed it. He said it wasn't as spicy as typical Thai restaurants (he loves spicy), but it was delicious. Mom had the chili cauliflower with cashew nuts and manchurian sauce - she loooooved it. We were actually supposed to split both of our dishes, but she decided to keep hers after trying it. BUT that didn't bother me because I ordered my favorite, vegetarian drunken noodles! Medium spicy - wasn't very spicy, but they gave hot sauce on the side (very good!). The dish was veryyy different than any other Thai place I've tried! The sauce was more tomato-y and they sprinkled lots of basil leaves (the condiment) into the dish, which made it very flavorful! It was definitely yummy, but I personally prefer fresh basil leaves over the seasoning. The tofu was cut into teenie-tiny little pieces and was skimpy, but the few pieces I had were delicious. The mixed vegetables in the noodles didn't include baby corn, which is sort-of a deal breaker for me. Instead, they had cauliflower, which I've never had in my drunken noodles before - good addition for sure! We ordered the falooda kulfi for dessert - again, my parents were major fans. I didn't like that it was so frozen that I could taste the ice on the bottom of it. We literally had to take the piece of kulfi out onto another plate to try to de-ice it, but hey, maybe I'm being overly critical because my parents still loved it lol I'd give N Thai Palace 3.5 stars if I could! My mom would give it a 4.5, Dad would give it a 4 (lost points for the ambiance, not the food!). I'd say I'm a bit picky with my Thai food, but definitely looking forward to coming back again and hopefully uping the star count to coincide with my fellow Yelpers! :) Tip: if you check in on Yelp, there's an offer for a free iced tea!
