Amazing...been here 4 times before. Got the Chicken-65 (hot), just enough heat to make the wife order an extra white wine. Also had the garlic NaaN as a side and the 2 paired well. Followed up with the Lamb Vindaloo (I usually get the clay pot of some sort), but went a standard dish with extra ground Indian red peppers, really tasty and the lamb basically melted in your mouth. The wife got the Bone-in Tandoori chicken, not too spicy and the house sauce served with it was great. We have leftovers and excited about our next time we can visit. The food was very delicious and the portions are pretty good for what they are worth! I love Indian food so i had to come here! Nothing to complain about with the food, the only thing i would say is they do get very very busy. We came here the night before for dinner and there was a wait so they took our phone number and said they would call us when there was a table ready. We didn't end up getting a call at all. Was no big deal we just ended up watching somewhere else. We came back the next day for lunch was able to be sat pretty quickly. They do have one person doing all the waiting but it was still fine! SUPER PUMPED about this place in Savannah. We walked by it after our "walking ghost tour" of Savannah and my 6yo was hungry and saw it and said she wanted indian food...my kids are 1/2 indian so it's always a top choice for them lol. Luckily they were still open at 9pm on a Saturday night and as soon as i walked in I was drooling with the masala smells...My daughter had chosen the Dal Makhani since it's one of her favs and so I ordered that with one naan and it comes with a side of rice...the price came to around $11-$12. Once we got back to the hotel....lets say the food didn't last long. As soon as I opened the container I could see the quality and the smell, I knew it was going to be good. Truth be told it was probably some of the best dal makhani I have had in the US...and the one i make is pretty darn good. My husband and father-in-law could not stop boasting how good it was so we had plans to go back the next day for more dishes to bring on our ride back home to ATL. The portions were good and it didn't take them long to make the dish (to-go). Everything we ate here had that "home cooked/dhaba" taste and it's one of my top places I do have to say...and to think from Savannah?! The next day we ordered the yellow dal, same dal makhani and channa masala. The channa had a good "bite" to it but I was actually a little disappointed with the tadka dal, it lacked flavor and salt...next time I will skip on this dish. I ordered myself a meal on Grubhub and at first I thought it was expensive but I I wanted it so I went for it. When it came to the house and I made a plate the smell of the food was so good I didn't care anymore. So good. I had one full plate for dinner then a full plate the next day. Totally worth it. I'll be honest here, there is nothing I could find wrong with this establishment. The menu is very easy to read and the food was quickly delivered to us. We both got some butter chicken with two different assortments of naan that were very, very delicious. The portions were also pretty large for the price point! I have seen some reviews bashing the service here, but in my opinion it works great. The owner or server doesn't try to be overly friendly or do anything extra nor is he dismissive and cold...he sits you, asks for your order, delivers the food, and then you pay. I stopped here for lunch after a day trip to Savannah and got a simple channa masala with roti on the side to go. The channa masala was very good and had a lot of spice to it. It was very flavorful and they give you a good amount for the price. The roti was also very good and was a nice complement to the channa masala. The location In sure gets a lot of foot traffic as it is in the middle of everything and in walking distance to just about everything. The service was also friendly and prompt - they said it would take 15-20 minutes for the order and as I was just about to walk back in to check on the food they were walking out to hand it to us. This place is always fantastic. The smell of curry fresh and naan bread from the kitchen seeps through the dining room. The salmon tikka Masala is a personal favorite of mine(spicy of course) they really bring the heat with this salmon dish. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly. Other popular classics are the bullet/butter/plain/garlic naan selections and they have many more. The chicken tikka is also very good, chicken roasted with sauce and onions and lemon. I've been a longtime fan of NaaN, and ordered from them frequently, probably twice a month. I saw they received a 70 on their most recent health inspection but I had never had issues so I ignored it. My most recent takeout order was shocking. Normally the basmati rice has whole spices in it, but I'm so glad I looked closer at my container of rice this time. It had an entire cockroach leg in it. I'm so thankful I haven't gotten sick (yet) from the food but I don't think I can stomach eating here again.
