First of all, they always accommodate me even with within-the hour request to get nails done. Very good at handling request change in style depending on my mood. Christy, Kevin, Jimmie, Sun, Marley are who usually take care of me! After running/jogging for many years, some of toe nails have come off. Christy advised to avoid wearing closed shoes and she and Kevin have been doing a great job sculpting fake nails to hide ugly growing nails. The atmosphere is friendly with some joking around. Reasonable pricing, but at this location you get what you pay for. I decided to get a pedicure and a fill-in with gel. The pedicure was sub-par. Nails were filed uneven and the gentleman did not even seem to care about how well of a job he was doing. The lady who helped me with my full did a very good job. The color has changed over the week which is slightly disappointing and one nail broke the day after getting them done. OMG! I made the mistake of reading their reviews and going there regardless to give them a fair chance and they blew it! The guy that did my nails was a complete buffoon! He can't follow simple instructions. How difficult is it to do a French manicure? Simple right? Not with these folks! He kept on pulling and tugging at my hands and hurting me. This guy is rude and doesn't listen at all! They saw an opportunity to make some money off of me and when I asked for an acrylic French manicure it quickly escalated into something else and he began building many thick layers of pink nail polish paint on top of each nail and you could not possibly see the white tips that typically come out of a French manicure. I was cheated! My nails look awful and they're so weak they'll break off any day now or at least that's what I expect. BUT - A culinary analogy: this is like the $10 you spend for popcorn and drinks at the movie theater or snacks on the airplane... you know it's a ripoff and you know you're really spending much more than you should for that little bag of M&Ms but you're already there and you're short on time / have no other options readily available, so what the hell. My french mani was subpar for $21, tip not included. She took forever to paint the tip (using a acetone dipped brush to wipe away excess, a new technique for me). The hand massage was more like a palm rub and the white line of my french is way too thick for my tastes - I don't like my nails looking chunky. Came in to get a pedicure. Very nice place and they were able to take us right away. Perfect water and they did a great regular pedicure. What got me was the massage. I told them I hurt my ankle so, if they could, work it out for me. They spent soooo much extra time in my ankle and two employees took a whack at massaging my ankle. I've been getting my nails done for a while now and let me tell you all, this is the worse place I've ever been to. I came in with a bachelorette group who were all getting their nails done. The aesthetic is horrid; dusty, small, doesn't seem sanitary but since it was close to the hotel and it was busy, we gave it a shot. Worst decision ever because the service is rude, the quality is atrocious, and they have no sense of respect or customer satisfaction. The manicurist cleaning my fingers was so rough when cleaning that I ended up being cut. They asked me to pay prematurely (with no color on my fingers). Keep in mind that they had not even trimmed my finger nails and didn't even shape them. Why was I asked to pay? Because I had no ring on my finger! How do I know this? I heard them talk about my friend (the bride's ring) and how rich she must have been. Then they looked at my other friend who was also engaged with a huge rock. They also exclaimed that she must have a rich husband. I quote, " ohh big rock. big rock equal nice husband. equal rich husband." They turned to me and exclaimed "oh, you no engaged? So no money then?" I heard the manicurist fully discussing this topic and when they turned to me next, the manicurist then asked me to go ahead and pay. My friend and the bride asked why I was being asked to pay, they said "sometimes, people like you have no money." I have never experience such disgusting behavior. Kristy (the manager) observed the problem and immediately jumped into say, oh shes with the bride. Don't worry, they will pay at the end, they can afford" Furthermore, the nail polish they used was defective; was thick and chunky, wouldn't spread, and the bottle had hair or strands of the brush inside and they kept using acetone and nail thinner to make the nail polish work instead of getting a new bottle. Each of my nails boasted a hair/strand/mark/sever demarkation. It had to be redone 3x (because the polish was bad and the manicurist was not trained) and still wasn't proper at the time of finishing. Kristy herself was disappointed and ended up redoing the nails, which was still imperfect and riddled with issues. When I asked to just have it taken off/refund they told me to come back later (despite my telling them I'm from out of town). They kept saying "Come back tomorrow, I fix." I told them several times that I'm from out of town and can't come back tomorrow. I called back multiple times to get a refund. Their solution was for me to "fly back out to Chicago so that they could try to fix." Don't bother talking to the manager (Kristy). She will just lie about everything, yell at you, curse at you, and then hang up on the phone. When calling back from a different number, I was told that Kristy had just stepped out but I could clearly hear her directing her employee to tell me that she had stepped out. Should have read the reviews people gave this place prior. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. NEVER GO HERE and save all your $. Oh and by the way, the nail polish they "thinned" out didn't last even a day. read more

Just got a fabulous dip manicure from Hanna. My nails look amazing and she was honestly so nice. My fingernails are naturally small and round, and I keep them short so they don't break. She carefully evaluated my nails and determined an approach that made them look great without making me feel self conscious or lecturing me. I will be back for sure. read more

This shop is frustrating because on one hand, it's a hecka convenient location, on the other hand, it's waaay too expensive and the techs aren't nice. Apparently, there's a minimum amount that you can put on your credit card. Since no sign states that, imagine my surprise when my pedicure is complete and I'm about to pay and they tell me that I have to get another procedure done because my bill isn't high enough. Ummm, what?!! Well, dang, you might want to warn a client in advance... Deep breath, go with the flow. So, I go to check out colors for a manicure and the tech keeps hovering over me to rush the process. If the shop was crowded and bustling, I could understand the need to hurry, but I was literally the only person in the salon. I have this place a try over Polish and Pour. Overall it's not bad. They do an excellent job on manicures and no chips. I was really impressed on how much time my manicurist took to make sure my nails looked perfect vs. just trying to get me in and out the door. What I didn't like was the atmosphere. There was no music or anything playing and all I heard the entire time was a loud air conditioner. If they put some music on I think it would help. Also they had their kids in the back and I heard them the entire time. Typically when I go to get my nails done it is to relax and I just didn't feel relaxed when I came here. I think if they work on their atmosphere big time this place would be okay. I might come back just because of the pride my manicurist took in her work. That was very refreshing. read more

I've been coming to this salon every 2-3 weeks for a no chip manicure and pedicure for over a year. As long as I live in this city, I will continue to do so. I first came in for the convenience of the location. I used to work right on Michigan Avenue and could walk over on my lunch out and be in and out in 45minutes. My first no chip was a bust, but I came in and showed my tech and he fixed at no cost. I haven't had a bad polish since. All if the staff is super friendly and really great at their work. They're not super chatty, but honestly thats a positive in my book cause Im just coming in to relax. I have acrylic nails and popped in today for what I thought would be a quick, inexpensive, color change. I was charged $10 for the color change, $10 to drill off my old color, and another $10 for the gel polish. I'm still in shock. It was literally 15-minutes to accomplish. Additionally, the staff was on the rude side and did not go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I would have given this 5 stars but they just fired my FAVORITE nail technician Lena. I am very upset about this because this was why I was coming to the salon. Lena is careful, attentive, knowledgable about nail health, and friendly to everyone and all the customers. There are some other nail technicians that are decent, but none that come close to Lena. I will not be coming to this salon anymore because she was let go. I know Lena was inconsistent with her schedule because her children have had health problems and the owner wanted someone more reliable. Seeing that I love getting my nails done and I live a block from this nail salon, I thought I should give it a try. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no one else in the salon other then the workers. The man sitting in there was watching something on the computer and didn't even acknowledge my presence. The selection of colors was subpar and the manicure it self was sloppy. It looked like I had painted both my hands with my left hand, and I am right handed. The place was not that clean and had random baked goods laying around. I decided to give this place a shot after living across the street from it for almost a year. I never came here before due to bad yelp reviews and the fact that it just looks iffy. It was the only nail place open at the last minute. I was literally there for an hour and a half and my nails look like a 5 year old did them. They were done by an elderly woman there who had a bit of an attitude while doing my nails but that is beside the point. She took forever to do my gel manicure and everything about it is awful. My skin looks extremely dry around my nail, there's top coat not just on my nail but on my skin, she swears the polish was the match to my toes but they look nothing alike, I asked her to put several coats on my nails and it still looks sheer and not as solid as my toes, my nails are short but she still somehow managed to screw up the shape of them. Typically I'd avoid a bad yelp review at all cost but the lady herself had an attitude. Oh and if that isn't enough....it was $72 total for horrible mani and ped. So then I told someone to get me a towel and she said don't leave we are almost ready for you. Why in the world do you offer appointments if you don't have people to fill them. Do not go here! Trust me, stay away. I went in for a full set and basically ended up being maimed by the nail technician. First I had to point out that there were gaps between where he had put on the nail tip and the acrylic. Second, there were dents and hollows in my nails and this was after they were buffed. Third he mangled my cuticle with that electric sander contraption used to smooth out the acrylic. Then the polish I selected was old and was coming out clumpy so instead of suggesting that I pick another color he proceeds to put clear polish in the bottle when made a horrendous situation catastrophic. I took my mom here yesterday mid morning for a belated mother's day pedicure. We really enjoyed our time. The ladies there were most obliging and made sure that we enjoyed ourselves. They took their time on our feet and it was one of the most relaxing pedicures I have had in awhile. We just got regular pedicures, but felt like the deluxe with how thorough it was. If you have a last second inspiration to get a pedicure and all of the other "higher yelp" rated salons are booked up, then I suggest try walking in here. Horrible!! Terrible job had to go back less than 24 hours later to get my acrylic gel nails fixed as well as my toes due to the fact that the polished they used was old! They charged me $99.00 for all services! Now mind you this was just toes and nails. Never the less I still tipped 20%. I was blamed for my toe nail polished being ruined after less than 24 hours then they tried to charge me $5.00 for a polish change on my toes due to their mistake which I refused to pay. So they changed my polish. I went back almost exactly 2 weeks later to the day for an acrylic fill only pink and whites as well as a polish change on my toes. Well the woman tried 2 accuse me of having hands in water all the time (which is simply not true!) This because all of the pink acrylic was coming up! Which @ a second fill should have never happened! Anyway I lye her fix it, took over an HOUR! And I got a polish change on my toes but upgraded to French which should have been $3.00 more. So finally when I got the bill they tried to charge me $46.00 in all!!! $29.00 for a fill which was somewhat acceptable but considering what a bad job that had been done the first time I should have has a discount but was instead yet again accused that it was my fault! Then the zinger was they tried to charge me $12.00 for a polish change that I was just told on my last visit was only supposed to be $5.00!! The excuse for that was that whoever helped me last time must have forgot! Then they started talking crap about me in Korean! I've been going to this salon since they opened. I live next door, and at one time they were good. My mom came with me and we were told by the owner that that they could take her in 15-20 minutes. After she waited for one hour and ten minutes, she walked out. I had a function this weekend so I had to wait, but that is the last time I will ever set foot in that place. Most of the people I knew have left, and there is a nice nail shop on McClurg next to Starbuck's I wanted to try anyway. The owner of this salon has no idea what he is doing and that is too bad.
