I recently moved to the area and have had about 3 mani's and 2 pedi's done here with great service and perfect nails (acrylic/gel) and no wait ever, so I thought I had finally found my PERFECT spot, until today, arrived for an acrylic fill and repair one broken nail. She was friendlier then most but could not get the old broken acrylic nail off and kept digging with different tools and clippers, finally she gave up and said I'll just leave it and try and file it down, (a huge glob of old acrylic remained on the center of my nail) after she got done trimming the rest of my nails she put the new nail tip on and the lady next to her kept looking over and talking to her, im assuming she was asking why she was leaving the glob of old acrylic there, that same lady finally came over and tried removing it and within seconds had the old acrylic off. So the first tech proceeds to continue adding the "fill" but was only adding a tiny bit to the back of my nails (where the fill normally goes) and was putting tons on the tips, making the nails look very thick on the ends, I decided to not mention it until after she was filing, assuming she knew what she was doing and would file down the thickness, but I have watched my nails be "filled" for years and nobody has ever done it this way, but still I trusted her. After she started filing down I noticed she was filing down the back only and leaving most of the thickness on the ends and center of my nails, by this time I'm clearly annoyed and asked her nicely if she could take some of the ends down as I thought it was too thick, I don't think she understood me so I tried to repeat it in more clearer words, and another tech behind her turns around and says "she is filing it now and not done yet" in the most rude loud voice, and walks away, after she walked away I asked my tech who that was and she said oh that's my cousin, so I told her "tell your cousin not to interrupt because it's rude, and unless she is the manager not to talk to me again" at this point I felt bad for my tech she was clearly embarrassed and said she was sorry that I wasn't happy, I said it's ok, I just don't like that think nail look. After she started the gel color the "cousin" came back and kept walking around us like she was trying to keep on eye on me, made me very uncomfortable and I understand that you want to stand up for your family but she had no idea what was going on and should have stayed out of the conversation. So this review is not for my tech, although she did a horrible job and the tips of my nails are still thick and already chipping after one day, I believe she is new because this was the first time I seen her and she looks about 18 years old, and will get better with time and I still tipped her my normal $5. My deduction of 2 stars are for the "cousin" that was rude, I didn't catch either ones name. As I was paying the cashier said "I hope you are happy, she tries to do the best she can" made me feel a little better about the whole experience, and bad at the same time because I believe in order to having a good customer experience anywhere you need to be respectful and kind, but also be able to stand up for yourself about what you want, since that is my hard earned money I'm spending. Now I'm torn about going back...will I get the rude cousin or the new tech? read more
