The first time i cane here it was on a busy day, so they rushed through my full set solar. They did an decent job, so i decided to give them a second try. So i went on a less busy day and Mary did my nails and she did a great job! Loved it! She took her time and did a wonderful job! I've been coming here for 10 years. I was unhappy with the shape of my nails I made them very aware of it. I've been here at least 20 times over the years... Neverrr complained about the cost or a screw up. I spend $100 EVERY TIME! I asked if they were able to discount the cost because I was unhappy with the nails. They literally look like little teeth... I asked for almond shape and showed a picture. I ended up doing the full nail color because they looked even more horrendous with the tip colored. I can't wait to take these off!!!!! I have been going here for about 6 months. Been in at least 10 times, often with friends. Usually had a good experience. A few times I felt rushed and like the shape wasn't 100% what I wanted but it was okay. Today was awful. I went in for a pedicure and fill. They did fill first and tried to upscale shellac pedicure the whole time so I wouldn't have to "wait" for it to dry. Meanwhile they could have done pedicure first - no one was there. I had this lady who told me that she couldn't shorten my nails even with the month of grow out I had and that they charge between 5 and 10 dollars for the almond shape now. I have been switching between round and almond the whole time I have gone and never been charged extra. I explained to her I have never been charged for shape and she told me well since my nails are long they charge and that for certain shapes they charge. She did a sloppy job leaving my nails crooked, different lengths and did not clean the edges well. She also complained the whole time about her small tips and how she has to pay out of her pocket when she forgets to charge for almond shape. This made me think they just make up the prices as they go and if they think you won't complain/ notice. She shaped like 4 nails before even asking me if it was correct and they suck but I just wanted to get out of there. She made them pretty pointy and not almond like I wanted. I skipped on the pedicure and got out ASAP. I will not go back. If you know a decent nail salon in Portland please help me out. I have tried about 10 places and haven't liked one. On the plus side they have amazing colors here and all the finishes you could want. Charging for shape and not having consistent prices will have me going back. read more

HORRIBLE nail salon, i would give them ZERO stars if i could . I asked for a shellac manicure & they were able to take me right away, i had shellac on & the lady used a DRILL to take it off . I constantly told her it was hot & she kept going . Idk who gave her, her license she cant polish to save her life . Every finger i had to tell her she was missing some polish on the side of EVERY nail . When i left my fingers felt heavy i looked at them & there's polish on the side of my fingers . She also only massaged my hands not my arm like every tech in the salon was & every other salon . First time & i will NEVER come back & i dont recommend this place for anybody . They're okay when they're not busy but for the love of god--TELL PEOPLE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TIME! Don't make someone wait 50 minutes by being like "we'll be right with you" every time you make eye contact making them think they'll be seen soon. Eventually you get moved to a nail station where you have to wait even longer. Final straw was when a "regular" came in and got pushed to the front of the line without an appointment. I have found my SE Portland nail salon and nail technician! Tracy was amazing! My gel manicure is beautiful and perfect! My pedicure was awesome! I'm a nail technician myself so I'm always a bit suspicious going anywhere. Nail Tek has the highest standards in sanitation. Polish application was on point. The salon is very cute and the the manicure tables and pedicure chairs are both very nice. No broken massage control buttons here. I also noticed the jets are removable for easy cleaning. Back to Tracy- she is personable and easy to chat with. She didn't rush me out or keep me all day either. I just couldn't be more pleased with my experience today! Just the pick me up I needed. im only giving a start because my nails look good, but the service and experience was HORRIBLE. I have been getting acrylic nails since I was 12 years old, this is not my first rodeo. I was only in for a fill, I was quoted a price of $15 dollars, I get my nails done the same way every time I get them done, I get all but the ring finger the same color, I generally get the ring finger a different color with glitter.. I was not told until after my nails were painted that it was a $5 charge for my "nail art". since when is opening an extra bottle of polish "nail art". needless to say I will not be coming back there ... ever. read more

I was a long time client (approximately 10 years). Things changed this past year when management (which was 5-star) was changed. Sadly, the quality of service has declined drastically and the ethical accountability non-existent. First of all, tell the truth when a clinician leaves. Let the client know where they may be found and give them the choice to stay or go. Saying someone left to return to Vietnam or is taking care of their mother is not the truth...especially when the clinician is working in another close-by location. (Shame on you Nail Tek). Customer's make mistakes, miss appointments at times and should call when there is a change (I know, because this happened to me recently). However, a missed appointment was needed only because Nail Tek overbooked my two appointments the weekend before. What did I do that Saturday? I spent 1 hour (soaking in water) waiting for a 30 minute pedicure. The pedicure was great (Elizabeth always does an outstanding job) - But was it necessary for me to wait especially when I booked the appointment the day before? New management needs some business management skills. So let's talk about the appointment I made when I called in after missing an appointment. I made it for 1:00 pm the following day. Do you think that when I walked in the technician was ready to do my nails? No, she was in the "middle" of doing someone elses nails; and when I said, "You're not going to be ready at 1?" She laughed saying, "can you go shopping for a little bit?" Seriously...Did she just say that? Well, yes she did. So I replied, no, I won't ever be coming back!" and I walked out the door. Funny thing is -- What does one do when they have been getting nail services from a place for 10 years? It's not that easy ... But miracles do happen because as I planned to go to mall 205, I found myself driving to the strip mall across the road (96th) to a salon called, Star Nails -- You can imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw, Christina, the former manager of Nail Tek who "supposedly was caring for her mother or in Vietnam." Hmmm, shame on those who told a "tall tale" and provided poor service ... I'm just saying NO to Nail Tek. A regular, recurring customer who spent a fair share of $$$ each month. read more

TERRIBLE service! My husband bought me a mani/pedi on my birthday. I requested a colored French shellac manicure. The woman who did my nails, Nga, didn't listen to me at all. She couldn't find the color polish that matched the sample number I chose and kept trying to talk me into other polishes. She even tried to tell me the wrong color was the color I chose. She was obviously frustrated with me for it. I tried to describe what I wanted but ended up just giving in and agreed to a color she suggested. She finished and I asked for a second coat and she said no and told me I didn't really want that. I walked outside and looked more closely at my nails, and my cuticles looked bad, the polish was sloppy, and the color was not at all what I had been going for. I asked her to just remove the polish. She suggested I come back in a little over an hour, which I couldn't do, so she sloppily removed the polish without giving me a refund. Twice I said I could come in tomorrow to have them actually fixed but she just didn't respond to me. I paid $30 for my nails to look worse than when I came in. I didn't have a Yelp account before today and have never asked someone to fix or change polish for me and I regularly get mani/pedis. I have a regular spot I routinely drive 20 minutes to for a reason. I decided to try this establishment much closer to my home, and really wish I hadn't. They were offering free paraffin with a pedicure and that is what my daughter and I made our appointments for. That being said, when myriad walk-ins showed up, we were rushed through our pedicures and never received paraffin. Or any sort of massage. Or complete polish. Seriously. The entire pedicure lasted 20 minutes start to finish. However, we did pay and tip prior to pedi completion. I've encountered this practice with manicures, so add not to smudge polish, but a first for a pedicure. Now I know why. I literally got up and finished painting my own toenails as only the right half of all of the toes on my left foot, and the left half of the toes on my right foot were painted. One of my toes nails was cut so short that it is tender to even look at. My daughter was also rushed, and although her entire nails were painted, they looked streaky. I wish I could retract my tip. I've always gotten my eyebrows waxed for years .I had stopped for about a month , so they could grow out evenly and I decided to go to this place because my eyebrows were ready to be fixed but instead a tragedy happened they burned my face !my left brow was super red and so was the middle ,now at first I thought it was because it had been a while that I had waxed my brows but as time was passing through the day it wasn't going away ,during the night when I tried washing my face barely putting water I felt a burn like no other it made me tear up that's when i was furious for I knew they had burnt me , I called and they told me to go in see what they could do so I go in they made me wait for about 30 mins , to just go in the back and give me a speech of how my skin is very sensitive and I explain to her this has never happened and well you'd think if that were the case the expert should know any better but it was only one brow and the middle for my right brow was perfectly fine she only said 'I can only give you cooling gel in a zip lock bag , not my money back not an apology or nothing I will for ever be scared of waxing will never recommend this place ever !!! read more
