I tried Nailpolish on a whim because it's right next to my job and my usual place is closed on Sundays. Thankfully, they weren't too busy and immediately accommodated me. I wanted to remove my old gel-x set and do a gel mani on my natural nails. I was quoted $40 for both services; what an amazing price! The spa itself was really clean, spacious, and relaxing. Cathy removed my old set and Trina did my gel mani. They are both so kind!! They were friendly and warm with me and extended that same hospitality to all the guests I saw them help. Trina is really wonderful and a great conversationalist. She makes you comfortable and I really appreciate how the service included a cuticle trim and a hand massage. Most places no longer offer these without incurring an extra charge. Nailpolish has great prices for quality, detailed work. Came in as a walk-in around 6:15 on a Wednesday. They were able to accommodate me and did such a nice job on my gel manicure. They didn't have the color that I originally picked in gel, I think if I had chosen to go dip they would have. I ended up choosing a different more vibrant color, and it came out nice. The shape of the nails were even and the location is very clean! The staff is also very warm and happy to do your nails to your liking. 3.5 stars. I've been here twice to get a pedicure. Since moving to Lakewood it's been a little difficult finding a nail salon I truly like the work. So I gave Nailpolish a couple of tries. The place is clean and neat. Very spacious. And can cater to kiddos too. Although the ladies are sweet and kind, I don't feel that they pay too much attention to detail. My first experience was good. "T" gave a nice massage during the scrub and lotion portion of the pedicure. My second visit was with another nail tech. Her scrub and lotion massage was very short and almost not even a massage sadly. I'm a new mom and can hardly find the time to do something for myself. So I actually look forward to that short massage portion when getting a pedicure. Both times I come home to inspect the work, my big toes shapes don't match. So I'd have to file them to correct it. This last time the lady didn't clean the polish that got on the skin. It was quite messy looking at it close up. I don't like to see pictures of feet so I only took a picture of the left side where dirt (something) was on the toe and she painted over it so it left bumps. I know had I inspected the work there, they would have fixed it, but probably not happy to do it. I really want to love this place and to make it my go-to nail shop so I'll give it one more try on my next visit. Stay tuned! read more

I hate leaving negative post for a business, but this salon really needs work. Nailpolish has always been a hit and miss and I've always given it second chances. Especially when I'm short on time, it's been convenient because there's rarely ever a wait. Now I know why. I went in for a fill. Less then 24hrs later one of my nails broke off. When I called and explained what happened and that I was coming in I was not told I would be charged for a poor job done in the first place. I LOVE Nail Polish nail salon and have been a loyal customer for over 5 years. Parking is always easy and they take walk-ins. Trina & Cathy are awesome! Always friendly and accommodating. Very service oriented and seeking to please their customers! The salon is always clean & tidy. Lots of nail polish colors to choose from. I generally go for a pedicure and I'm always pleased with my service. My pedis will usually last 3 weeks. This nail salon has gone downhill. It's super cheap for a reason. A bucket for a foot bath, diluted polish to the point of ruining its purpose of staying on for more than a day. Top it off with bad attitudes and rude employees that argue when the polish is lumpy and and has waves! Emi was horrible! Rude and unprofessional. Trina jumped in and jumped on the same bandwagon as to why the polish had waves etc. As a patron, I just want good service, and a decent product. I liked my nails. They were smooth and even. But one of my nails cracked after only 3 days!!! The other one chipped after 5 days. Surprisingly I hadn't done any kinda work with my hands either.This is so disappointing . Even if I got gel or regular mani it would stay longer! Never go to an unknown nail spa. I don't live in long beach otherwise I'd go there and get a refund or get this mess fixed. I paid 40 dollars for nothing... Unbelievable! I got my lesson.... never go to random nail salons. Kathy is my lady! She makes sure that my ingrown is pulled or taken cared of. I have been going to her for over 3 years now.

Besides the cute set up, nail job was horrible. I went in for a fill that already chipped with less than 24 hours from getting them done. And my gel pedi was so horribly painted as well. The paint was streaky. My big toe cuticles are in pain from the cuts they left and on my thumb too. They are indoors so that's the only positive thing about my experience. This was my first and last time here. Not sure what the cost was for each but for a fill and gel pedi w cuticles was a total of $70. It was cash only. I still tipped both workers. read more

Ok, so this place was clean and well prepared for customers amid the Covid regulations. The downfall was in having to readjust and take customers on; it is my perception they over promised and under delivered. My girlfriends and I had all appointments and had to wait a long time. Then the service itself took a long time. The gel polish lifted from all our manicured within the first 5 days. I was dissatisfied for the amount of money we paid. I would maybe give them another try. They charge an additional dollar to pay with card. read more

I use to come here all the time since it first opened, I absolutely loved this place and I stay loyal to places around my neighborhood, but in the last couple of years (off and on) I've noticed they began to get a little sloppy :(. I went from coming every two weeks at the beginning to coming only when I needed a mani/pedi for vacations. I even purposely avoided coming to them to get a mani and pedi for my wedding because I couldn't trust they'd do a great job. So I went to another place in Cerritos that was more expensive than I'd usually, but hey... it was a special occasion after all. Now 2 weeks after my wedding I decided to come back and give Nailpolish another try for a basic gel mani and it was a grim reminder of why I decided to move on from them :(. - first: they rushed me into my seat before I could pick a color and I told them I wanted to pick a color first. I did, and told the woman which color I wanted before the service began. - once they were done with the filing and shaping. They informed me they couldn't find the color I wanted. I was so bummed. I can't understand why they didn't inform me of that before. I felt super stuck because I'm pretty steady with my color choice and don't like changing it. - while I was quickly trying to pick another color, my manicurist began working on someone else and sent another tech to finish my color application, which was not done very well. The new lady was super distracted and wouldn't finish applying the color correctly. I had to call it out when she MISSED a nail. I was left with weird uneven spots on my nails. I informed her and she just looked annoyed and wouldn't acknowledge what I was trying to explain. When I went to pay she asked if I wanted to add a tip, I declined and she looked surprised. But I just don't feel right tipping for this type of service. It just wasn't up to par. It's sad to say but I won't be going back anymore. At the end of the day it's worth paying a little more for a detailed job. I save my money and look forward to getting my nails done, so an experience like this is just a real bummer. :( read more

Hidden Gem 10/26/17 I came here at 1pm, Thursday, with my mom for a mani-pedi. I called ahead to make sure they could take us in and sure enough they had the time. It was perfect timing because it was just us two. The girls there (I'm sorry I didn't get your names) were amazing. The pedicure was relaxing and the girls offered EXCEPTIONAL customer service. The air conditioning was blasting the best cold air on this hot day and the place was sparkling clean! The main reason I am giving it 5 stars is due to their CLEANLINESS and Sanitary EXPECTATIONS!! They are 5 stars! They line the water tub with liners and use gloves to do their pedicures. Some of the pedicure items are disposable so they only use it once on a customer. After 3pm, you can enjoy a complimentary mimosa, which I did! And they bring out little chocolates on your pillow! I mean what more do we need? It was about $50 each, out the door for mani/pedi , callus remover and $10 tip ($5 for each lady)! Ladies.. pay a few extra dollars for exceptional service and cleanliness. UPDATE 12/8/17: The owner Trina saw my review and reached out to me to possibly schedule me in to fix the issue- unfortunately I let her know that now both my nails have lost the gel polish and it's already been 2 weeks, so even if I were to have the color restored It would be too late, as I would need to get a. But as I stated before the staff is nice, and so is the owner- really sad that my gel polish came off so easily though.... :/ 2 stars because 1 they were accommodating 2 the technicians are nice. I walked into this place to get a mani/pedi while my brother got a haircut across the parking lot. I asked for their basic pedi and a gel mani. I was seated and they began. The woman doing my pedi asked which one i would like and showed me the paper with the dofferent options. I asked for the simplest pedi they do and coincidentally that was the name of their basic pedicure. I asked the girl doing my mani to please just file my nails a little as they were already short and very thin since i had removed acrylics a few weeks before. She decided to file them down to nubs. I asked for black gel polish on my hands and french tips on my toes. I've included pictures of the gel manicure. I don't think anyone would be very happy with the result i got. The polish doesn't go to the cuticle. It's cloudy and uneven. The pedicure was fine but when i was leaving i was charged for their premium pedicure when i had specifically asked for the basic. I went here recently to get my nails and toes done because I was gifted a gift card from a friend and the place is beautiful on the inside and the people are very welcoming. My issue is that while I was getting my nails done the lady was very quick but sloppy! She cut me while cleaning up the side of my nail and made me bleed pretty bad. She never said an apology or anything so it rubbed me the wrong way.. she just continued to add alcohol on top of the cut to make it go away.. and she continued to do her work. Very unprofessional in my opinion. No tip! The lady that did my toes was amazing she took her time and was very patient while doing it. Gave her a tip. This is my first visit to Nailpolish and I can say it was a great experience! 5 stars My gf and I didn't have an appointment so we figured we would try to walk in right when they opened today (Wednesday). The customer service was very nice. All of the staff greeted us and talked to us. My gf even got a complimentary mimosa for her birthday. No need for those useless massage chairs as they have very cozy modern chairs and the entire ambiance was trendy. Very clean establishment and decent pricing. Regular mani/pedi was $30. This place is great!! This is the second time i go here and both times have a been a great and relaxing experience! I love how i'm always greeted with a smile, it just makes me feel welcome, and they always offer drink as you are being seated. I will never come back and I will advise you to think twice before coming here. So here goes what happend.... I called in and asked if they did nail dipping. SHE TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO HAVE MORE SIMPITHY FOR HUMANITY AND AS SHE WALKED AWAY CALLED ME RACIST. I came across this place via Yelp & read that Tracy did a great job so I made an appointment with Tracy. She is a perfectionist! She took A LOT of time on my nails and wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. She was constantly asking if I was happy with everything before continuing on to the next step.
