I must say, I tried out this nail salon for the first time today and absolutely loved it! It has a wonderful atmosphere- it was raining and gloomy outside, but the inside was so bright and cheerful it made me forget about the gloomy weather outside. The staff was so friendly and made my experience very pleasant. When it comes to the service itself, I got gel nails and found that it was done in an extremely thorough fashion. I am pretty disappointed with my $55 gel manicure. I got chrome nails, which is usually only $5-10 extra at other places I've been to in NYC and SF. Here, it's $20 more. It was a rushed job, the polish is way thicker than any other time I've gotten it done, there was polish all over the tips of my fingers that I had to pick off, and now less than a week later the polish is starting to peel. read more

Pedicure services were OK -- not bad, but nothing to write home to mom about. Pros: went on a Saturday morning and even without an appointment only had to wait about 5 minutes since they have quite a few pedicure stations. Parking is relatively easy as there is metered parking as well as street/residential parking. Cons: I don't think the nail tech was very detail-oriented. The callous removing/massaging was short and somewhat haphazard. Definitely a backup salon for that last minute pedicure if i can't get one at Nail Fitness. read more

Great nail salon I just left my place after 7 years, it was so hard trying to find a good place when your so used to someone for so long. I get the uv gel and color gel on top Hena did it she was great quick and good. The owners are so nice and Gabby did my pedicure she's the best! They have a huge selection of colors and all brands. They also do a hot wax treatment on your hands after a gel mani for free, I loved that just a little something extra! Very clean very friendly and they took me last minute. Went there to tips with a gel french manicure... They did an alright job....three nails are crooked and the white area is too big after I asked twice for a thinner line but she said this will look better. Whatever. I get up to pay and she said I owe $120! I almost cried. Yes I didn't ask how much it would be before I began but my sister in law paid $80 at another place and her nails looked a lot better than mine. I literally stood there in shock for two minutes staring at their price board that didn't really look updated at all for gel manicures. I just didn't understand how it could be that much and they offered little explanation. I left very upset and very very ripped off. Will not be returning ever again. Nails are way over priced there. read more

BEST pedicure I have ever had, hands down. The technician took her time, did everything to perfection, and gave me the longest, most relaxing leg and foot massage with oils and hot stones. I left as relaxed (if not more so!) than if I had gotten a full body massage. The salon also offers waxing, facials, and massage services. I'm incredibly picky about getting my nails done, and I hate spending money on a cheap manicure...but this place was fantastic! I went after work on a Monday and they gladly took me. This place is very clean (one of my biggest pet peeves is a nasty cheap nail salon!!!) and my french manicure was perfect AND lasted over two weeks...yes!!! I've been coming here for about 14 years. It's where I go when I can't get to my regular salon in NY and I want something local. There is an odd division of labor where the owners and manicure team are Asian, but the pedicure technicians are all Spanish. The pedicures are generally fine. Today I asked for something to repair my broken toe nail which has almost entirely fallen off. I was told to try a silk wrap. They made no promises on whether it would last. They charged me $10 for one toe. A full extension is $75, but they said it was different for a toe nail. The whole pedicure was $27 so $10 for one broken nail seems overpriced. Referred by a girlfriend, and came here twice. Way too expensive for what you get. They have raised their prices and you can get the same experience but way better at Glen Ridge Nails. Massage is fine, experience itself is fine but definitely not worth $50 including tip for regular mani/pedi. My manicures typically last me 2 weeks (crazy, I know). Within one day of coming here, my nails started to chip. Two days later, the top coat starting peeling off -- I had never seen anything like it! They have a new owner and he has raised the prices but started to cheapen the experience. Go elswhere, total ripoff. read more

I don't know why this place is rated so highly - maybe there aren't many options in this area? I won't return to this salon due to the terrible service I received. My entire manicure took less than 10 minutes. I was quickly rushed to a seat, they swiped some remover over my polish (They painted over my old polish left on multiple fingers) and quickly cut my cuticles with no soaking or oil. I then had both hands rubbed with an abrasive lotion (again, my hands were dry) and ordered to go "wash my hands." My technician then painted my nails and nail beds - including my cuticles. It was a mess. I had to say something to the owner who was very gracious and apologetic. Regardless of his kindness, I would never return to this salon. read more

I decided to check this place out after reading the previous reviews. They are great here. The staff is super friendly and know what they're doing. I got a pedicure, which for a basic pedi was excellent. It includes leg massage and hot stone as well. It's not cheap ($27), but this Montclair, and you get a lot for the price. This is an overdue review. I have been going to Nails & Body Work for the past six months religiously since my first visit. They are friendly, attentive, professional, clean, and everything else you could possibly ask for. I see Jenny and she pays attention to every nail like it was a piece of art and they last longer than the two weeks that they could or should. Regardless I go every two weeks just to unwind and feel pampered. I was very pleased with this salon! I'm from out of state and wanted to plan a spa trip for 11 girls. Finding a place that would accommodate everyone at once was a challenge, but their website offered many accurate details and pictures of the salon, which didn't do it justice. For a few years now, I have been going to a bunch of different nail salons trying to find the best one for me including decent prices, good nail work, efficiency, service, basically the whole works. I heard about Nails & Body Work from my mom, who is very critical of the way her nails are done. We went together soon after and I will no longer be trying out any new nail salons. I will go to Nails & Body Work to get my nails done even if I am a 45min drive away. They treat you like Princesses. You never have to wait if you are a walk-in. They take their time in every part of the manicure/pedicure and you actually have time to relax while they are working on you! If you say you are thirsty, they bring you a bottle of water or a cup of tea! They also have a warm shoulder pad they can bring you which definitely hits the spot if you are stressed out. I have never had such a great nail experience. It is not only the most relaxing mani/pedi I have ever received, but also the best. This is no exaggeration. You won't be disappointed if you come here! read more
