Decided to try a new nail salon, unfortunately , this was not it. At least not when it came to my manicure. Peter seemed rushed and left a lot of bumps and bubbles in my nails. He was a nice guy, but just seemed like if he was rushing to be done. Even when I told him there were a lot of bubbles in my nails he thought one last coat would make it better. Only reason I decided to give 3 stars is because Nancy actually did an amazing job when it came to my pedicure. If it wasn't for the way my nails turned out, I'd keep going. read more

Went yesterday with a good friend of mine for a pedicure at 1:30 pm super clean shop and probably the nicest group of nail techs I've ever experienced! definitely pricier than other shops, my normal pedicure with callous removal was $27, but I didn't have any issues with my experience which is why I am okay with it. They also make sure to always have clean, new products which I really appreciated. I had Na paint my toes a cute light pink and I love how they came out! She was also super soft and gentle when putting back on my flip flops and anklet. My new favorite nail place! read more

I've given this place a few shots, but each time gets worse and worse :( The actual experience at the salon is decent, but it's the after-effects that won't have me coming back, unfortunately. I've always come here out of convenience - I need a gel manicure for the next day or weekend and can't travel to my usual place in the Marina - and this is right down the street from my work and gym. Most recently, my gel manicure for a weekend wedding didn't last two days. While cooking, I went to open a lid, and one whole thumb gel ripped off. My nails are on the shorter end, but it typically takes about a week for these things to happen. Come Monday, my coworkers mentioned my noticeable missing/chipped gels and I had to fill in the missing ones with paint to avoid further scrutiny. read more

I decided to give them another shot last weekend while my regular shop was overbooked, and oh man do I regret it!! They were overpriced, did a horrible pedicure and a half ass manicure with lumps of polish! Oh and also I'm pretty sure she gave me an infection on my toe! It bled, it still hurts 6 days later, is still brown and they got polish all over my fingers and toes and didn't bother to clean up! Lazy, tacky, and inconsiderate!! I went here as opposed to my usual nail salon because it was open earlier and I had to go to work that morning. It was close to my work, so I decided to give it a shot. I was really disappointed with the overall quality of the gel manicure I received. The nail technician seemed to be having trouble with the nail polish. The paint was coming out extremely thin, and uneven, and she had to use short fast strokes for coverage. Halfway through, she even gestured to another technician to look at my nails, and by then I knew there was an issue, but there was never anything explicitly said to me. By the time the manicure was over, the paint was bumpy, uneven, and some of the paint was on my cuticles (as pictured. With the flash, the uneven coat is hard to see). To top it all off, two days later one of the nails chipped, which has never happened to any gel manicure I've received anywhere else. I also see a lot of reviews about the technicians clipping your cuticles too short or too aggressively, which I agree with as well. My cuticles were uneven afterwards too. read more

The prices advertised at the front desk are not the same as the ones the nail techs show you once you're in their chair. This experience was a disaster. I was a walk in and the kind gentleman at the front seated me at a station right away. I only had to wait for 5 mins. The lady greeted me, I thought it was going to be a great experience. I asked for a full set, acrylic nails, coffin shaped. She said it was no problem, off to a great start. 2 hours later, UGH! (I've never spent that long in a nail salon) I finally really paid attention to my nails and saw how uneven every nail was. my middle finger isn't even coffin shaped, I had nail glue all of my fingers AND I have a cut on my middle finger from one of the tools. How can you be doing one set of nails and not be finished after 2 hours. I was too irritated to stay for anything more. I just left with my unfinished nails. The gentleman who helped my initially said I could come back and someone will help fix them. I truly appreciate that but I don't want anything else done there. I'm going back tomorrow to get them removed completely and then stay far far away from NailSpa. This is what I get for venturing away from my regular nail salon In Playa Vista, The Varnish Lab. So I sat waiting for 30 mins, and when a guys (I didn't remember the name) finally started working, of course, he was rushing. And he did a very poor job!!! Uneven shape, pieces of cotton in gel polish. I was very unsatisfied. And when I asked for refund showing the bad work, they refused to do it. First, offering to redo it right now (I said I don't have time, as I had 1 hour only), then they offered a certificate for next time (I don't think after such a bad experience I'll ever be willing to come back), and eventually we agreed to refund half. Why half? Because it's "unfair for him as he spent his time doing my nails". I agreed but I was pissed and couldn't deal with it any more. I started coming hear when my nail tech moved to this salon. Her name is Na and she is amazing! She taught me about Gel-X which is healthier for your nails than acrylics. My nails are the longest and healthiest they have ever been! I love catching up with Na every 3 weeks or so when I get my nails done. She is kind, funny, and so smart. Went here on my lunch break to get my gel nails removed and a regular manicure. They were empty which was a bit surprising. The lady soaked my nail in the acetone as she was suppose to and proceeded to file down my nails. She filed one of my nails so roughly that it bled. It still hurts and I think its infected now under my nail. I was in so much pain I didn't even get any polish. I got no hand massage, she didn't soak them in the soapy water so there was still dirt under my nails and worst of all, I watched her pour the acetone from my nails back into the bottle!!!! Anyways, a guy did my nail, and i asked for french nails. I figured, how the hell can you mess up a freakin' french manicure? Well... he did. Good thing my MOH noticed it and made him fix it. This place sucks! Came here for the first time as I moved to this area. Lynn was very sweet however lazy. She tried discouraging me from getting hard gel because it's too much work in her own words. Not only did she take 2 hrs but she left my nails uneven and rough. I gad to return the next day to have them fixed. Their gel polishes are so cheap they chip off right away and are extremely we thru. 3 days later hard gel brakes off. I go in to ask for nail to be fixed Lisa (manager) tells me lynn isn't there and won't be until 4 days later. To return then. Absolutely not! I requested my nail fixed immediately. There's no reason why I should walk around with a broken/chipped nail. Then the person who co called fixed my nail did a worse job making it so thin. It broke off again the next day. And refused to change my polish because she didn't know how to do French tip! How are you a nail tech but don't know how to do French tip! I asked Lisa if I can get my Nails re polished because my French tip I paid extra for was horrible. And she said Lynn will call you I'm sure she can fix for you. A week later no call back! I also decided to get a pedi and she did not know how to do ingrown nail removal, she hardly cut anything and the gel polish was messy. Will never return here. I came here to get my mani pedi the other day and was very pleased by the whole experience. I think many of the negative reviews come from people who came at the wrong time. There was no one in there at 10:30 in the morning, and I h.ad my pick of the many cozy massage chairs they have. The ladies were very cordial, and I politely asked for what I wanted and stated," nothing else today thank you", so they didn't try to sell me anything further. No problem. I often do like to get the extra massages and callous removal, just not today. So i really don't think it's offensive if they do ask. I really wanted to like this place but I won't be going back. This is the third time out of 5ish visits my nail(s) have broken off the same or next day. The first time it happened one popped off within a couple of hours while I was folding laundry! I went back to have it fixed and the lady rushed through the repair leaving it lumpy. That night I took a shower and 5 more popped off. I went back to have them fixed and they told me they'd fix them for half price or take the remaining off for free! I was shocked, but because it was right after COVID restrictions had been lifted I wanted to give them another chance, and agreed to pay knowing they'd just been through a hardship. They reground my nails and ground them so thin my nails hurt for a week. Most of my visits they didn't soak the nails off they ground and peeled them off which has taken a toll on my nails. Each time Ive gone back 1-2 nails break off the first few days. Last time I was there I overheard a woman getting her broken nails repaired telling a similar story as me. Honestly I've never had manicures come off so quickly in my entire life. I went back enough times to know it wasn't an isolated incident or due to one nail tech. There's a very fine line that determines a great nail salon and a poor one. I believe that if the salon is sanitary and efficient, then it should be given a good review. This salon provides that service. The technician you get is just the luck of the draw. Sometimes you get a "lazy" one who does half-asses the work, but sometimes you get a hard working one who is very meticulous with their work. I got the later. When I got a callus remover. She really went to town to the point where I could feel the layers of dead skin peeling off. My feet are nice and soft now! Paint job is practically the same anywhere.
