By far my FAVORITE breakfast/lunch spots in San Diego!! My husband and I live in Solana Beach and bring our friends. We have noticed they often request to eat here. Kung Fu Quesadilla - nicely loaded quesadilla, and it came with side of coconut rice which was perfectly chewy (I think there's some brown rice in it) and subtly sweet Kids French toast - one slice of the coconut French toast was delectable and had a generous side of fresh fruit and came with a choice of drink. Emerald Earth Bowl - it was surprisingly a very hearty and delicious bowl! I guess I was worried since upon initial look it was all green. Cute brunch spot right across from Solana beach! The place is mostly outside seating that's very well shaded. There's no private parking, but there's ample public parking around the area. The food was super delicious and fresh. I arrived on a Saturday around 9:30am. There were a few tables empty and I was told to just pick a table with a menu. I got to sit facing the ocean and park so that was beautiful. The space is well lit but small. There is one long table in the middle. I can imagine that this place can get full fast. I like horchata and lattes so the combo presented itself at breakfast. OMG delicious creamy and cinnamony. I wish to find this at home or a recipe. Ordered the buff burrito and it came as two burritos - definitely add the avocado. It was super fresh and light. Beans were my least favorite as it had no flavor or seasoning. The reason for the low stars is purely on the service. It took awhile to order and get my food. One of my all time favorites, I always go back when I'm in town. Service is kinda slow, but the food and tea lattes are awesome. Last time we went, we sat outside, which was even better than sitting on the patio. Highly recommended. Get the French toast or waffles if you want something sweet. Thursday breakfast so we got a decent table right away. I imagine over the weekend it's an hour long wait given the Cafe's reputation for quality food. If its that long of a wait - stick it out as it's well worth it! Coffee service was outstanding with a 4ish cup French Press to start. A Mocha was also ordered and was just as good! The coconut French Toast was remarkable - very light coconut taste compared to expectations - a good thing IMHO - with a sweet berry sauce or genuine maple syrup to complement the meal. A must order again item. Breakfast quesadilla was also a good choice - artichoke hearts were a nice touch. The tortillas are authentically "hand made" and really make the meal. Pro tip: Don't assume (as I did) that the name of the cafe is also their dress code. I sure won't make that mistake again... Bon Appetit! read more

We stopped here on a walk through the South Cedros area. I liked the fact this place serves healthy drinks and snacks. It was the first time I've seen a place with an add-in of collagen peptides (which is supposed to be good for the skin) we ordered the key lime pie customized drink. We haven't eaten here in a while and my wife and I were exited to eat there this morning. As usual it's busy on a Saturday around 10am. We went straight to counter not realizing that we had to check-in with the hostess upfront. I saw a clipboard on the podium so I went ahead and wrote my name but the hostess came and said: "I'll take care of that!" (Kinda angry). I expressed to her that we wanted a table for 2 inside. She said OK it'll be around 5-10 mins told me if I wanted to hang around there so we did. I saw there were at least 3 open tables and several parties were leaving; so i figured they'll just prepare our table and we'll be sitting in no time. Minutes later, a couple came in and she escorted them inside. I said to myself oh maybe they were here before us; although I know there were only 2 names in the list and I was sure we were next to be seated. A few more minutes went by and another couple walked in to her and she again escorted them inside to be seated. At this point, I told my wife "aren't we supposed to be next?" I told my wife to ask the hostess to find out what's going on. Her response was because the previous couple asked for the next available table. I was confused because I thought that's the idea of having your name listed so the next available table will be given to you. I let that slide but what I didn't like is the hostess seemed annoyed when my wife asked her. It seemed she had preferential treatment or given priority over the 2 couples ahead of us because they're white and we are Asian. I sincerely wish that I was wrong but the hostess' actions definitely showed that. She was very welcoming and friendly to the 2 white couples while it was the opposite towards us right from the get go. We felt ignored and unimportant so we decided to take our business elsewhere and left!!! I asked my wife if she still wanted to go back there in the future and she said NO! I don't blame her the hostess' attitude is appalling and disappointing to me. read more

Got the latte. Very nice and just creamy enough. Perfect size. Got one single wild blueberry pancake. Very good. Sunshine Burrito was good but the tortilla was doey...undercooked. Salsa with it was good. Service was nice and quick for a Sunday morning. Food was good. I think it was on the pricey side ie $4.50 for one pancake, $5.50 for glass of oj. oJ was just ok. My boyfriend and I wanted a nice, cute quick brunch spot near the beach so this was perfect. We were sat down quick since we were only two. I used the restroom which is by a sketchy door on the side of the building and once you're in you go through the kitchen and some type of storage it smelled horrible of dirty towels and the mat which you walk on is wet and filthy. The restroom was disgusting it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. I decided to walk out and not use it so i wouldn't loose my appetite. When I returned to my seat we ordered our food and don't let it fool you, might look good but it wasn't. Had no flavor at all and was gross. So after we ordered our food I noticed that by the register there was a dirty towel on the floor the waiter was stepping on it very time she'd walk by. I noticed that all the tables were being cleaned with towels the same exact color as the on the floor. I was so grossed out. I didn't want to ruin the breakfast and I should have known better and went with my gut instinct. As soon as the food arrived we took one bite and it wasn't what we expected we didn't eat it just barely touched it. My French toast was the only thing that looked a bit decent but a fly landed on it so we didn't touch it at all we paid for our food and left. Let me just start by saying, I love SD brunches and it's hard to go wrong with brunch, but my meal was very lackluster. Not sure if I ordered the wrong dish, but my breakfast Rising Sun quesadilla was somewhat disappointing. It was soggy, and had very little bacon in it. Considering I added eggs + avocado for an additional $3.50 (and my avocado was missing) , I'm not sure what would have been in the quesadilla had I not paid for the additions. I definitely should have gotten their breakfast sandwich which I was contemplating as the special of the day, but I was really craving a quesadilla. I also got the oceans blue tea latte- not sure if the barista made it correctly because it definitely did not come out as pictured here on Yelp- but it was awful! Imagine a lukewarm cup of water with the faintest hint of flavoring.. for $5. I simply could not drink it, and am normally very hesitant and reluctant to send something back to the kitchen because I don't want to be "that person" but thankfully the server agreed to exchange it for a vanilla latte instead, which I really appreciated.
