Rating: 8/10 Came by with a couple of friends after hiking all morning! We got to Naked Cafe around 1PM on a Saturday, and there was a lot of parking in the parking lot to the right of the cafe. The area was pretty busy with people enjoying the nice weather. We put our names down and was told the wait was 15 minutes, but we really only waited 10 minutes before being seated. The cafe itself is so cute and aesthetic, I loved the decor and vibes. I also loved how one portion of the menu added in the macros for the macro-conscious people! Also, they are very flexible with the menu in terms of making dishes vegan or customized. Here's what my friends and I ordered and how we rated them: - Green Heart Quesadilla: 7.5/10, my friend said it was good but nothing too special - Coconut Honey Latte: 6/10, it was a special item on their board outside but my friend said it was watery and wasn't that good. - Tailgate Tacos: 8.5/10, two of my friends ordered this and they are both vegetarian/vegan. One of my friends mentioned how they didn't have a vegan cheese option and also how the tacos were not constructed very well. Overall, they both loved this though! - Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie: 5/10, didn't taste much banana or peanut butter and was not very thick. My friend said it almost felt like he was drinking flavored almond milk. - Blueberry Pancake: 8/10, very pretty plating and a normal solid choice! - Horchata Latte: 9.5/10, two of my friends got this and loveddd it! - Welcome Plate: 7.8/10, the bread was too toasted and hard to eat, and the eggs and potatoes weren't especially flavorful. Solid option though. - Steak Tenderloin Hash: 7.5/10, I got this one personally. It looked beautiful, but when I got to eating it, I found that a few pieces of the steak were still a bit raw and red. Also, I did not like the horseradish sauce at all (but I don't like that wasabi-esque flavor in general). The eggs were plain (not seasoned I think) and not that flavorful, but I enjoyed the potatoes. I think the steak (the ones that weren't raw) and the potatoes were the best part of the plate. - Red Velvet Tea: 8.5/10, yummy and very refreshing! Overall, I would come back if I were in the area, but with so many other cute cafes around, I probably wouldn't pick this cafe as my first choice. I would recommend you try it out and see how you like it yourself, but I think it's a nice and casual dining spot with good customization flexibility! read more

We visit the San Diego area several times a year and ALWAYS have breakfast here at least once during each visit. It is so nice to have your food and experience live up to your expectations. Today we had the Artichoke Scramble with avocado (extra). Wow, what a dish. As good as the scramble is, what makes the dish are the best prepared potatoes on the planet - rosemary potatoes. Yummmmmm. I had the steak tenderloin hash and was pleasantly surprised with the portions. It was a nice hearty meal to start off the day! I paired this nicely with the Naked Mocha which was a comforting drink on a chilly morning. One of my buddies had the crispy burritos which were a healthy but filling plate. The one thing I was hoping to see were more breakfast options with sausage instead of vegan sausage but everything else was superb! This is still a go to place for me. I love having a view of the beach and water, which is a rarity in north county! Coffee here is great. I like the green and red pagoda, but now order the vegan sausage on the side because the dish is so filling! I need to branch out next time. Super kind staff and they use Moto coffee which is my favorite San Diego coffee. I like their horchata latte and haven't tried others. I've had their avocado toast as well. I get my dog groomed down the block so while she's there for 45 min I come here sometimes and grab a coffee to walk down to the beach. read more

I was so hyped to get the coconut French toast because I've heard it's incredible but what I was served was mediocre at best. It was all soggy and the coconut was burned. It felt like I was eating mushy bread with a hint of burnt coconut flakes. It was very disappointing. My sister in law who recommended the place told me I should've sent it back because that's not what it was supposed to be. It was upsetting that they would even serve me the food knowing it wasn't good and then proceed to charge me for it. My husband got the buff burritos.. and let's just say if you have to drown the burrito in hot sauce to give it flavor it probably isn't a very good burrito. The restaurant really needs to be more honest with its customers; telling them it's a 20-minute wait when it clearly takes much longer is misleading. Of all the Naked Cafes, I like this one best. The view of Fletcher Cove is amazing. Both the indoor seating and outdoor seating are outstanding. One of the servers recommended the Transcendence Wrap, as a bowl, without the spinach wrap, to meet all my gluten free and vegan needs. I've also ordered it that way with a side of corn tortillas and this option can't be beat! They have amazing pressed Kona coffee that is to die for. And, fun fact: I drink coffee only a handful of times a year so as to protect my friends and family from full speedy talking and over active actions by me, but I'll break the "limit her coffee" rules for their pressed Kona coffee. Whenever we do a bike ride near here we try to make this our breakfast stop afterwards. read more

It's not the usual crispy type of potatoes. But it did carry out the nice rosemary flavor. 3.5/5 Not a big fan of the latte though - not so used to the sour profile from butterfly pea flower pairing with latte (it would pair better with citrusy drinks). 2/5 Parking was very easy - plenty of street parking plus a parking lot next door. Nice place in terms of having an ocean view and brunch at reasonable prices. But this location is high key a mess when compared to the Point Loma one. Now what do I mean by a mess? Well.... First my friend and I arrived on a Sunday around 11:25/30am. We were told that for our party of 2 that the wait would be 20 minutes. SIKE. It was an hour. Basically their payment system temporarily broke. And they didn't even really announce this. What happened was the hostess in charge came to the largest group and just told them that it was down and that they were only accepting cash at the moment until it fixed. Fortunately we were close enough to the largest group to overhear this But I just don't understand why the hostess didn't personally go to each group or make some mass announcement so that patrons who were waiting outside could hear. My friend and I weren't even asked if we had cash but groups that came after us were seated before us. While we didn't have enough cash combined on us, it would've made sense that the hostess asked if we did instead of assuming. Anyways, by the time the payment system got fixed and tables were cleared we got seated at 12:30pm. Now the largest group went in before us and looks like we were served water before they were and they walked out since they didn't get any service not even water, yikes (they even stopped by our table to let us know this, which sucks cuz they waited over an hour for no service). It took maybe 10-15min before we had our orders taken but we were patient since we already waited all of that time. And once we finally got our food it did not disappoint. My steak tenderloin hash was sooo big and so filling. It came with tons of eggs, potatoes, meat, salsa, horse radish cream, and sourdough bread. I did find a hair in my bread though which was a bit gross. I told the waitress and she got me an entire plate of new bread which I was not expecting at all and my meal got comped. Not only this but when I had my order I taken, I asked for no horseradish cream and still got it. My friend ordered the coconut french toast which is what I've gotten at the Point Loma location which has the perfect amount of coconut on it which is brought out by the flavor of the syrup. While the food and location here is great, the service in the beginning as a bit whack. I've been to the Point Loma location on a Sunday at around the same time and it was super calm, not crowded or hectic at all and had a lot better service than this location in my opinion. read more
