I experienced a "first" here. This was the first time I'd ever been to a restaurant, was seated, and waited an hour and a half to get the right meal... and still ended up paying for it. After waiting 30-45 minutes we were finally offered drink refills. At an hour and 15 I was served the wrong food, so didn't eat until an hour and a half after I'd been seated. Even then, my food wasn't quite right. I was not offered anything other than a passing "sorry," not even a refill of iced tea. We barely ever saw our server. Now I've been here several times before, and we know the service is going to be sloooooow. It always is, and other reviewers have certainly already pointed that out. But it wasn't even their busiest time, there were open tables. We pushed through the insane wait times for the food, but the taste has gone a bit sour. It'll be a long time before we take our chances on this place again. That being said, the food is legitimately great. Hands down, my favorite place to go in Southern California. I've been to both the carlsbad and del mar locations. Equally amazing and the same menu options. Del Mar location has a pretty little view of the beach and feels almost like you are sitting in a little beach house or hut. Everything on the menu is identified as gluten free, vegan, vegetarian or not. Love when they do that cause you don't have to ask. You can buy bread, t-shirts, and dressings at the del mar location -- not sure the other location sells them or not. Anyway, both times I ordered the zucchini, broccoli, egg whites and brown rice with a side of sriracha. And both times it was as good as I remembered. Asian Fusion? The only thing Asian is in the names of some dishes. A few things i like are the healthy options like quinoa, egg whites, soy chorizo and very good home backed breads. Quality coffee's and tea's, fresh squeezed OJ, grapefruit and lemonade. Pesto egg white scramble, spinach and whole grain tortilla's. Heaps of black beans. A few things i found lacking was a salad with breakfast (albeit a variety of garden greens). Come on, I eat a lot of health food to counter my moments of weakness and gluttony, but the salad does nothing, but detract from the great meals, it adds nothing to the overall taste of the dishes and they don't offer a variety of dressings (raspberry vinaigrette) Things i didn't factor into this rating, but thought you all should know. My party of 3 had a long wait due to it being a Saturday morning and they have some12 2 person tables, 7 4 person and a few larger, but you'll wait much longer than if you had 2 people. It's small and outside(covered it can be cold), no parking lot (3 spaces). The fresh squeezed OJ is 8 oz and $3 dollars. I really wanted the french toast, pesto egg scramble and beef hash, but i went for the pesto scramble, 1 piece of french toast, herbed potatoes and avo slices. Many tofu options, but many vegetarian options. I found the french toast good, but nothing special, good bread and tasty coconut, but i found the wash didn't have nutmeg and cinnamon they way I'm used to, very little complexity. the syrup bottles poured painfully slow. Glad i only got 1 piece. The avo really was fresh, but the herbed potatoes i thought overdone and they may have used fresh herbs for plating and garnish, but i sure didn't taste them in the eating. You want real Asian fusion breakfast go to Orange County's Break of Dawn Cafe. Their are much better breakfast/brunch places, but i truly like the options they offer. read more

Seriously, avoid this place at all costs if it is even remotely busy. The location is amazing and the food is pretty good and reasonably priced if you happen to end up there when it's dead. Once a few tables show up though, all hell breaks loose and no one there is able to get a handle on it. Ordered a to-go quesadilla and was quoted 20 minutes, got there and was told "just a couple more minutes" for another 40. The worst part, when I finally got the extravagant tortilla, meat, and cheese creation, it was completely messed up and slathered in pesto sauce rather than having the proper sriracha marinated chicken inside. Ended up getting a refund and figuring out somewhere else to grab food having wasted my entire lunch break. While waiting, I watched 3-4 tables walk out and this is not the first time I've dealt with unreasonably long wait times or completely messed up orders. The staff is very sweet and apologetic, but they seem totally out of control and at the whim of whatever is happening in the kitchen. I'd seriously consider getting a new front of house and kitchen manager in there to turn this place around. A ton of potential but at the moment, this place is a total joke. read more

Across the street from Fletcher Cover Beach Park in a small spot with limited parking and incredible views is the very busy Naked Cafe. Their goal on the menu was to serve simple, clean and natural foods and the egg white burrito lived up to the billing. It's a largest breakfast and my friend ordered 2 to prove he worked out more than anyone else, but great place. Service was wonderful and the Health conscious menu was a good warm up to a week which included Missouri and Texas' anti-health conscious foods. It's not my normal type of breakfast place, as I prefer a diner style, but I gave it five stars because I understand not everyone goes to breakfast like I do, and I found nothing I could pick on here. This is a great place for a healthy breakfast with a beautiful view of the ocean. We were impressed by the variety of healthy and organic breakfast choices offered us. My husband went with the Plate of prosperity. Very healthy and tasty. I went less healthy and ordered the Coconut French toast. The French toast was perfect. Nice and thick toasted coconut. Yum! It was a bit too rich and too much food, but my husband eagerly helped with that. The apple juice we ordered for our son was organic, fresh and unfiltered. The only two things I didn't like about this place was the coffee (too bitter) and the price. I give the Naked Cafe an extra star for serving organic, healthy yet delicious meals. The food however is worth the wait, as they have delicious organic food, specially their wraps which are killer! They do however special in their breakfast but because it's a breakfast and brunch place you can get anything you like! The service for me was very good and quick so there was no trouble there. I discovered this place a decade ago going to college down in SD. I STILL take trips to have breakfast at this killer spot. The food is so good. SOOOOO good. I tried something new this time, the steak wrap with the thai peanut sauce. We also had the chicken tacos with peanut sauce. Both were scrumptious as hell - but I favored the chicken tacos. They have a beautiful location right by the ocean. The view is beautiful. It isn't too big, so it easily fills up and you have to wait. I've found that the best time to go there is later in the morning, or weekdays of course. The beach is just across the street, down the hill. On this particular visit we decided to lay out down there. It was a quiet, serene spot to hang out. The water was beautiful and calm. The people were sparse. (Which is just how I like it.) My wife & I went there for brunch today...such a relaxing stop on a perfect SoCal day. Our server Maggie (Margaret) seated us at a table overlooking the park and ocean. She couldn't have been more cheerful, charming, and helpful with our menu choices. If you are a BACON lover you have to try theirs. The chef/cook somehow got it de-greased (if there is such a thing) but remarkably flavorful. No matter what I get there next time I'm getting a side of bacon with it. We were hoping Naked Cafe, along Sierra would maintain the pleasurable dining experience as all the other food establishments in the area, but this place readily fell off our to do list. First off, the coconut crusted French toast was delicious!!!! With a side of fruit it was pretty pricey at 15.00 bucks but a new taste experience that was memorable. The home fried potatoes with eggs and toast were a joke. I couldn't tell if it was meant to be vegan faux bacon or just burnt potatoes I asked for a redo of the potatoes and it came back the same. The waitress even remarked that is how it is and also wonders why anyone even orders it. I should have sent it back but I ate the eggs. (only open til 3) I copied off of someone else at the table and got the frozen mocha drink (which was tastey but, filling) I should have copied off of them and got the yin n yang (not sure if that's how it was spelt) Someone else got the chicken tacos and she liked them. I got a wrap- I had asked if the beef was tender ... I was told it was. Whelp it really wasn't- it didn't have much flavor. (the beef) the tortilla had flavor. The salsa was good. Everyone else seemed to like theirs.... I have to admit I wanted to reach over and eat the other dish! I'd like to try their breakfast sometime and come back for the other dish. Came here today for lunch with friends. The view is beautiful, of course. The menu made it extremely difficult for me to make choices. There is a huge selection of breakfast/brunch food. My friend got the green and red Pagoda (at least I think that's what it's called). It looked beautiful. I ordered the trifecta, since I was unable to make a decision. I got the ginger carrot soup, which was fantastic, and the gorgonzola salad, which came with walnuts, blue cheese, and a great balsamic dressing. You can build your own sandwiches, and I had a marinated chicken breast wrap with dijon mustard. It was very tender and delicious. Seriously, a very wonderful breakfast or lunch place. Loved it. Just a couple of really minor things - I asked for the dressing on the side, but they forgot. It ended up being fine since they put a very light amount of dressing on there anyways. OMG. this place was awesome. Beautiful view. I had the best tasting chocolate chip pancake I've ever tasted. On the side of the pancake plate is a dabble of blue berry on each side that added more taste. Even the strawberry was tasty and not tart. The bacon was delicious and all this was topped off with a fantastic tasting naked mocha. Service was great. Very friendly place. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
