The interior combines a sleek and clean modern vibe with plenty of traditional Thai flair sprinkled in, and the open view into the kitchen is always fun. My wife and I ordered a few different cocktails (and a Thai tea), all of which were well balanced and complimented the food. Well-timed, helpful service made for a really relaxing and enjoyable time. We ended up trying the tea rose (phenomenal and incredibly artfully made) and calamari (good, but not remarkable) for appetizers, and then went with the duck (very good and flavorful, but a tad overcooked for my liking) and the seafood curry Panang Talay. The true star of the meal ended up being the incredible scallops, which were huge and perfectly cooked! I really think this might have been among the best scallops I've ever had! I should've taken the reviews posted more seriously. When reviews say this place feels high class, you listen. This place feels like a fancy restaurant with the white table cloths. Multiple glasses and silverware (or rather goldware). The service is top notch. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. He refilled our waters every time he came to visit our table and then some. Every person here is so very kind and thanks you for everything, almost to a fault. Basically, you get a thank you for even just saying thank you to them. _ chicken satay appetizer: the chicken was sooo delicious. The marinaded chicken was perfectly grilled and had wonderful flavor. The peanut sauce was the absolute star and made these skewers that much better. There were 6 skewers total for us. _ roast duck curry: this was my dish and omg it was good! The duck was crispy and had wonderful flavor. The curry was a perfect blend of savory and spicy. It had just a slight bit of spice in the after taste but so much that you rushed for your water. The vegetables were also perfect accompaniments in the dish. _ pineapple rice: I should've expected this but when the waiter said I could choose between different types of rice, there was a charge on the bill for the rice. My bf got the standard jasmine steamed rice and that was no charge. Boooo. But that's okay. The pineapple rice was flavorful. _ vegetable and flash fried tofu: the tofu was SO good. Flavored really well and didn't come off oily at all. The veggies were great and it was served on an egg crepe which was perfectly made and very thin. Definitely worth getting. _ nan martini: first few sips were fine, but man, it's too sweet for my personal tastes. If you like sweet cocktails / drinks, it's worth trying, at least. Overall, this restaurant was walking distance from our place and we were impressed with the high quality of dishes and ingredients. Is it pricey? Yes. I like Nan's atmosphere and the bar; the food however always leaves me wanting for more. Don't get me wrong - It's always impeccably presented but I find myself craving traditional Thai flavors and I can't get them here. That said, food is decent here but I prefer their bar. The Lychee martini is fantastic and they also have drambuie for dessert =) For apps I tried Ka-Nom Jeeb - dumplings, which were OK but not outstanding. I think BuHi restoes do a better job. My main course was very good - Kung Yang Masaman, which pretty much is a whole bunch of seafood with a side of brown rice - excellent. Will definitely recommend this dish. 1st experience here was just ok. Started off poorly with a server who had attitude from the start. You could tell he was either having a bad day or was ticked that we weren't ordering enough. Moving on to ordering entrees, one of my coworkers asked if the Kra Pow Nuea dish had a sauce. All the server replied was Yes, but very tersely. My CW asked what kind of sauce and server replied "Kra Pow sauce". This time with attitude. He just really came across as condescending & rude. No attempt to explain the sauce at all. So my CW gave up & just ordered it as he thought it was a dish he'd enjoyed there before. The only time the server seemed pleasant was when he learned we were ordering 3 deserts. I guess once he knew he'd get a larger tip, his mood improved. The food I had was good, but the place is way overpriced to me. My entree (Kung Yang Panang) wasn't worth $28, especially at lunch. Even though I worked a block away for two years, I never bothered trying this place b/c I'd heard mixed reviews but mostly b/c I refused to pay over $20 for an individual entree that I can get for under $10 - and family-style portions, too. However if someone else is paying, I can be an open-minded girl :) We did the "Chef's Table" which is $115/person incl. wine pairings. If I counted correctly, the Chef's Table included 8 courses (3 apps, 1 salad, 1 soup, 2 entrees, 1 dessert). The apps were served to us in their lounge next to the bar, and then we moved over to the Chef's table for the rest of our meal. Service was definitely "fine dining" and well-orchestrated, and every course was beautifully presented. The standout for me was the pineapple sorbet (for palate cleansing) served in a glass teapot over dry ice - check out my photo. It's kinda funny b/c it was at that point that everyone broke out their cameras :) As for the food itself, everything was pretty good (just pricey though) - and our selections seemed more catered to the non-Asian person. 8 of the 9 people in our group was non-Asian, and everyone else seemed to really love the food. All the wine selections were great - my favorite was the white wine served w/ the 1st course but sadly our server forgot to write down the name for me. Quick summary of what we had: 1st course - spinach leaf wrap. My favorite of the evening. Lots of sweet & spicy flavors exploding in my mouth. Tasted just like the spinach wrap served at Tuk Tuk. 2nd course - shrimp w/ sweet chili sauce. Good but nothing special. 3rd course - fried spring roll. Again, nothing special. 4th course - shrimp salad. Good. 5th course - one of the Tom Yum type soups. Good but again, nothing special ... except for the presentation: soup was served in a type of parchment and over a sterno flame. (Pineapple sorbet) 6th course - seabass on Thai basil fried rice. Good fish but salty rice. 7th course - NY Strip on vermicelli noodles in green curry. Probably my 2nd favorite dish. 8th course - Thai coffee ice cream w/ liqueur. Overall, fun dining experience - but Chef's Table does take 3 hours. I heard you need to book well in advance, too. Again, if someone else is paying, might be worth it but otherwise being the Frugal Foodie I am, there are plenty of other good Thai restaurants w/ just as good food that can satisfy my Thai cravings for a much lower price. FYI - parking is complimentary valet. And according to the other reviews, the restrooms are a must-see (which I missed). read more

Ridiculously good. Don't remember the name of my dish but it's the sole fish with some of the best seasoned chicken I have ever had. Mixed with the flash fried spinach and lotus(?) chips & jasmine rice... 10/10. Parents got the lamb & chef's special. Appetizers were a great start to the meal. Great first impression. To start, valet is gratuity based, which is great especially when it's raining. When I walked it, I realized this restaurant is a lot bigger than expected. It is so much bigger than the outside appears. Very nice aesthetic with dim lighting. I was greeted by the hostess and told that my party had not arrived. A young lady took me over to the bar area and sent me down with a drink menu. The bartender shortly came over to ask for my beverage of choice. they were able to seat us when the entire party arrived. Our server was beyond amazing. He was very passionate about his job and knew everything on the menu. He did such a great job explaining the specials and even the beverages I believe the food is reasonably priced. Nah Thai Fine Dining is the fanciest Thai Restaurant I've been to. My co-workers warned me it's too upper class. I didn't believe them. But I saw the white table cloths and business people wearing suits. I almost felt under-dressed with my jeans and t-shirt. I came for lunch. It didn't seem too busy. They have a big space. But it's probably good to make a reservation for weekend dinner, in case this place is popular. I thought it was cool the server greeted me with a wai. They seem to pull out all the stops with their high-classiness. Their menu was fancy too. It was leather bound with fancy card stock. First off, I love Thai food. I could eat it every day. However, my expectation was high for this place and I left disappointed with the food and the menu. I ordered something from the Chef Specialty section, which if I have to guess the specialty then it must be curry. Seafood curry, fish curry, chicken curry, vegetable curry, panang curry, yellow curry... Overall, the food was good, the ingredients were fresh, the portion was big and the price was high. If I'm paying more, I'd like the food not only to be better qualify, but to be different and special. Tom Yum Talay (Seafood) Soup $9 - The ingredients were fantastic (shrimp, squid, shiitake and straw mushrooms) but the broth was overly salty and sweet at the same time, just not right. Tom not-that-yum. Panang Talay (seafood curry) $26 - Comes with 3 jumbo prawns, 2 scallops, calamari over coconut pumpkin rice. The curry was very good, but I wish the rice wasn't submerged in the curry itself. Kra Pow Nuea (basil beef stir fry) $19 - Great flavors, beef was tender, and egg omelet added a nice touch. Served with a side of white rice. Masaman Curry with Chicken $19 - Chicken was well cooked, curry tasted good and comes with white rice on the side. Wild Lemongrass Caramel Custard dessert $9 - Great texture (thick and smooth), but I wasn't a fan of the lemongrass aftertaste. My friend said it reminded her of lemon wood polish. Hot Tea $6 - $6!! It's Nunshen brand, which is high end, but still. The restaurant is easy to spot from 17th Street and complimentary valet parking is right in front of the restaurant. I had this place on my Restaurant "Bucket List" for a while as I had heard good reviews. I made reservations for my wife and I in celebration of our 20th Wedding Anniversary. I wanted the full experience so we ordered the "Nan' Tasting Tree" which is an assortment of appetizer that includes crispy calamari, chicken satay, crispy spring rolls, chicken and shrimp dumplins and a salad roll all with it's respective sause. Each appetizer had a distinct taste and they were all DELICIOUS. We proceeded to order our entree meals. My wife ordered the the Shrimp Pad Thai and I ordered the Lamb Shank. My wife expressed being satisfied with the portion and how tasty her meal was. I on the other hand can say that this was the best Lamb Shank i've ever had (I was trying it for the first time) and it's a dish I recommend. The Lamb was so tender that the meat fell off the bone ! It's surrounded by a pineapple, coconut sauce with pieces of diced potatoes. This sauce had a sweet and sour taste which blended really well with the white rice that comes along with this dish. It was really tastefull. A cucumber salad comes aboard as well. My mouth is watery just reminiscing about it ! We concluded with dessert. We had the Coconut Cake as well as the Coconut Ice Cream. Good stuff ! Our waitress (Cristina) was so kind and helpful in explaing each dish and the drinks they had available. Same can be said by each staff member. First off, upon entering the space you are warmly greeted by hostess's in Thai: "sa was dee kah" then led to your table. It's a large building with one main, open room that features a bar in the middle with an impressive range of alcoholic beverages. Our waitress did a splendid job selling the specials for the day, listing a soft shell crab pad thai (which I totally ordered), and a lobster seafood dish. There's a large menu that includes all the traditional Thai dishes. For a starter, we ordered a sampler that came with dumplings, shumai, and calamari. The pad thai was quite tasty with vermicelli noodles as a base. I loved the soft shell crab combo and the crab was flakey and crunchy on the outside with a juicy interior. My friends and I went here before prom and overall had a good experience! The staff were super friendly and nice and seated us at a large table with nice decor in the middle. I made sure to book a table beforehand because it was on a Saturday night. There were many waiters and waitresses who checked up on us and we received our orders very fast. My friend and I shared the Nan's Tasting Tree which was very good! It features a lot of different appetizers and allows good samples instead of having to order a larger portion of each. Next, I had a soup and the Kai Siam. I was worried that the amount wouldn't be enough but I was more than full by the end of the meal. A small discrepancy happened at the end which made the experience less enjoyable, but that might be due to my fault not researching beforehand. After we finished our meal we received our bill on one receipt. This might've been fine if we didn't have 10 people. We ended up figuring everything by ourselves and handwriting who pays for what. We spent about an hour or so more than we expected and ended up going to prom late. It was kind of tiring but I was glad we got it figured out at the end.
