We tried Nanking on our recent trip to Artesia. It's an indi-Chinese restaurant so we went with the basics - veg chow mein and chicken momos. While the chicken momos were decent, the veg chow mein were bad - the taste of garlic was too strong. They also use thin noodles which don't taste good at all. Low on veggies. We ordered 1) Paneer Frankie 2) Chicken Tikka Massala and 3)Hakka Noodles and 4) Manchurian Balls in Gravy Paneer Frankie was ok- could have been better. They forgot to include the vinegar sauce with it. We called the restaurant and they said sorry - nothing offered to make up for their mistake. Chicken Tikka Massala was better than average but did not hit the spot. Hakka Noodles - we requested them to make spicy and they did make it spicy and good. This was well made. Manchurian Balls in Gravy : This was also well made. Overall am above experience. If there was a way to give them 3.5 starts out of 5- I would give them that. read more

Just tried this amazing Indo-Chinese spot in Artesia, and got an order for the family. From the tandoor chicken, chowmein, szechuan fried rice, and chicken mono, there was not a single bad dish. I wish had a pic but I forgot, the portions are pretty big and can feed multiple people. Everything was flavorful and well made, my favorites were the tandoor chicken and chicken mono. Tandoor chicken has so much flavor and the legs have plenty of meat. Chicken monos are basically like dumplings but the insides are different, I'm not too sure what they used but I was really good. Be aware the rice is spicy if you've never tried szechuan rice before, if aren't tolerant to heat then this isn't for you. But if your like me who loves spicy food, this will be a treat. Hidden in the back of shopping strip across from Hab Bank.. the restaurant is nice and clean and the service was better than most. Their lunch buffet did not have many options but it was cheap. The only meat dishes you get is a goat curry, chicken tandoori and another type of chicken curry. All else is vegetarian.. the mango soufflé was the only dessert and tasted like mango lassi.. that was pretty darn good. The naan was just ok, kind of thick and too dense just like the goat meat. A lot went wrong here. A lot... Walked in with a party of 13. We were all seated at a giant table but it took forever to sit down. This restaurant was packed, which I guess was a testament to how good the food was. I wish I could have tried the food though... We ordered several meat and veggie dishes including the Chili Chase naan, Garlic Chicken, Veg Manchurian and a whole range of other things. The issue was that everything took so long (and one of our members literally had to leave in 2 hours). We only got Momos, and our chili cheese naan while we where still waiting for our Garlic Chicken, Hakka Noodles, Veg Fried Rice, and so much more. My parents, having been here before kept raving about this garlic chicken, so of course I had high hopes. Two hours later and only one thing came. The waitress told us it was garlic chicken and it came on a sizzling platter. I tasted a bite before realizing this was Gobi Manchurian. As much as we like cauliflower, WE DID NOT ORDER THIS AT ALL. We ordered 2 plates of Veg Manchurian Balls. At this point we were so full and annoyed that we asked for the check and the rest of the items were to be canceled. But they weren't. Actually we got into a hefty dispute with the manager who refused to take several charges off the bill after we told the waitress to cancel the remaining dishes. He even said that he sent 2 Veg manchurian plates out and we should have gotten them. We saw the 2 Veg Manchurians go to ANOTHER TABLE. NOT OURS. They were sent to the wrong table. I bet all of our dishes were sent to the wrong table, and they had the nerve to tell my family that he didn't believe us when we didn't get our food. This is absolutely unprofessional behavior and I wouldn't come back here again, even if the Garlic Chicken (STILL HAVENT TRIED YET) was the best damn thing in the world. read more

Very salty gravy Lamb korma - 5/5 Kashmiri malai ke kofte- 5/5 I love malai kofta and these were super yummmy. Chicken tikka masala - 1/5 this was practically inedible.. never had anything more salty than this. It was my second time here and I think I am falling in love with this place. It's 25 miles away from my home and yet I come here to experience Indo Chinese cuisines. I really like their Chinese Bhel and paan kulfi. Paan kulfi does not show up in the popular dishes but I think it definitely deserve to be one of their popular dishes. They make it by hand so it's not packaged. Servers are nice too so when you want to customize your food, you can easily talk to them and get your food a little customized. They do their best to cater to your taste. Definitely a must try for people who want to experience Indo Chinese and Indian food. I've been to Nanking a few times at their old location before and last night was my first time at their new location. Got a Groupon and used it. It was around 8pm and the place only had a few diners. It's not as big as the old location but it was still spacious and clean, nothing fancy but decorated nicely enough. They played Bollywood on two screens but the volume was off. We ordered rice ($3.99), garlic ma'am ($2.50), chicken tikka masala ($14) and Tandoori chicken ($12). The food took a while and I know why. It was fresh and delicious! Of all the times ive dined at their restaurant, this was the best!! I'm usually not a fan of Tandoori chicken as it's always dry but here it was moist and flavorful. Portion was good. My chicken tikka massala was excellent. It was dark meat chicken but the waiter was nice enough to let me sub it with chicken breast at no extra cost. The flavor was great. My only complaint is this plate's portion was pretty small. The garlic naan was quite disappointing. The other negative is that they don't give you free rice or naan with your meal so that adds another $3-7 bucks on your tab. For the price and plate I selected, I feel like it should have include rice or naan for free. The waiters are great though. I'll be back! read more

We used to love this place but the standard is really really really deteriorating. The pace is understaffed and super loud. It took them good 7 minutes to notice us to seat us. Another 21 to take our order. Their only saving grace, chicken lollipops have also deteriorated :( super oily to the extent that it gave me an itchy throat. We ordered paneer schezuan and schezuan rice and the paneer was so hot and spicy that after a single bite, the boyfriend and I both had tears :(. It took us another 15 mins to get someone's attention (mind you only 3 people working!) they exchanged it for something milder but not really that mild. Finally we just decided to leave and the cheque took another 20 minutes. I commented on how understaffed they were and I got a reply saying it's always like this :/ I know what good Indian Chinese should taste like, I lived in Mumbai for many many years. This place food is usually very good but very disappointed on Sunday brunch. There was no roti or naan available and had to wait almost 45 minutes for it. Veggies were not cooked properly, when we requested to change the order that dish was extremely hot and not cooked very well either. It took little longer to get the food but we have no complaints as we thoroughly enjoyed. Very close to Indian/Hyderabad' Indo Chinese Nanking in terms of taste and standard.
