I have only tried the nano Asian fried rice and I loved it ! Most of the Thai places, I feel, serve u cheaper quality rice n veggies. Thus I make a note to remember such rare good ones. read more

Pan-Asian dining with Thai, Sushi in a place owned by some Taiwanese. Portions are pretty big and good to share. I've stayed away from the sushi and focused more on the noodle dishes when I'm there, with the Pad Thai actually quite tasty (I'm not usually a fan of this) and the Singapore noodles a bit of fun. Can get quite crowded on a weekend night with a mix of locals, Midshipmen and tourists. Never really had a wait, but have been there when nearly every table is full. read more

Went to lunch at Nano on a Friday b/c Joss' hadnt opened yet. i was disappointed. Avocado salad was good, but was swimming is dressing. Mango salad was not very good; mangos not sweet and dressing stunk like feet (fish sauce?) Waitress was pleasant but inexperienced/untrained - reaching over me while i was eating, taking dishes away before i was finished. The sushi was ok. We only had 3 types -quite small tho (lunch size?), six pieces but rolled tiny, prices not lower tho. Overall, not worth it....walk 1 block to Joss'. You wont regret it! read more

Brought my niece here to introduce her to sushi. Though she was not a fan of sushi, she loved everything else she ordered. And my bf and I loved the sushi!! We traveled to Annapolis to dine at Joss cafe but like so many other times we wished to eat there, they were closed! I may have to take that restaurant off of my favorites for the simple fact of their poor hours. Next time we visit Annapolis, Nano is where we will go!! :) read more

I ordered a very simple dish that I get at every Japanese restaurant I try. The yaki soba had a bad taste in it that did not mesh well. I sent that back and they got me their volcano chicken which I asked to get extra spicey. It came out awful!! One of the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. When the waitress came I told her that I didn't enjoy my dish however my friends dish was amazing. She then said well you should order that next time and charged me for the food. I paid for it but felt they deserved me to comment on here. read more

I got the Kami Kaze roll which I thought was solid but not spectacular. The prices of the classic sushi rolls are very reasonable ($4-6), however the specialty rolls are a bit over my budget ($11-17). If I could give this place 3.5 starts, I would. But i'll give them the benefit of the doubt because the staff is friendly. read more

This place has some good sushi and the service is really speedy. I got vegetarian sushi. It was pretty good, but it wasn't amazing. I did also feel that it wasn't the cleanest restaurant ever. The second time I went here they sat us In the way back area where you set like on the wood floor. They told us we had to take off our shoes. This I found rather gross, just because we hadn't planned to do this. You have to stick your feet it this gross pit that looks like it hadn't been cleaned. My sister didn't even have socks on, so that was gross. Also, I had boots on and it took me like 5 minutes to get them back on in the middle of the restaurant. Average sushi at best. Rolls are overstuffed with rice and the amount of sushi per roll is minimal.Green tea is not traditional and comes with a bag. Also, the amount of ginger & wasabi given is so small that it's actually comical. Our waitress was very nice however, the hostess was extremely rude and very hostile. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews! I always have a pleasant meal here. The Pink Lady roll is my absolute favorite. And the fried rice is also great. Large portion too! There are quite a few places on Main St. for sushi, Nano is the spot. Delicious! read more

Dining room messy, dusty and cluttered with boxes, stacks of menus, etc. Very small wait area. Food is good but expensive.

I went there with my two best friends. The food was good, but our waitress was barely understandable, forgot our orders, and left in the middle of us ordering. Went last friday, and we was surprise the fast service we got. The waitress was so helpful explaining the menu and plates,how was cook, and recommendations. the owners was so friendlys that came to our table to greet us and explain others dishes how the prepared them. The miso soup was excellent, the sticky rice was good but I will prefered more sweet. the portions was big and the rice was excellent. We will be there every friday!!! all waitress was so courtious checking on us, refilled drinks, cleaning tables, "Thats a team work" **** (4 ) stars, well done.Prices was good. This place is gross!! Walked in, it was totally empty (yet Joss up the street was too packed, wait too long) sat down to have a sick waitress.. the rolls were gross!! The shrimp tempura cold, the smoked salmon was too "smokey" and not enough salmon, we ordered some expensive roll that tasted like it came out of a fish tank. Very fishy and gross and when we complained, the owner had a complete attitude. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Joss all the way!! read more

Have been coming here for years. Love all the specials rolls. The eel roll can be better. My boyfriend liked the mackerel. I liked the spicy tuna. The yellow tail was pretty decent too. Their pineapple fried rice is amazing!! If you sit outside they give you water for your dog. We brought her along. They were so nice. Limited outdoor seating and always tons of people inside. Very yummy sushi. Love the big roll with the mango (I forget what it's called) and the veggie tempura appetizer. The atmosphere is really neat and I love the set up of the booths. The staff is friendly, and once forgot an alteration I requested for my order and was super nice and apologetic and remade it very quickly. read more

I love this place. Beautiful inside and the service is impeccable. The owners are so inviting and sweet. I've never had a bad or mediocre experience here. The volcano chicken is to die for. I think this is the best sushi in Annapolis. I've tried Tsunami but they aren't open for lunch so I have no way to tell if their quality is any good. Joss is good, but pricey and they are always super busy. Nano offers delivery (a plus if you work in Annapolis) and I've tried their spicy sushi roll combination as comparison to other places I've gone. They are very fresh, very good and very fast. I can't wait to be able to actually sit in those cute little booths and enjoy the atmosphere while I eat! We will be going there Friday. Excited! read more

I have to admit I've never eaten in the restaurant itself, because I am lucky enough to be in the delivery area, so I can't speak to the ambiance. However, I love this place for delivery. Their prices are not particularly cheap, but I think they are perfectly reasonable. Over the summer, I was ordering sushi delivery from them at least once a week, and I never had any complaints. My favorites are the crunchy spicy tuna, and the rainbow roll - the whitefish section of the rainbow has always been amazingly fresh and buttery. Lest I limit this to sushi, I must admit that for a period of time I had a mild addiction to the Triple Delight noodle dish. The service is EXCELLENT - people taking calls are always polite, and tonight I received my delivery exactly FIFTEEN MINUTES after calling! In addition, the driver was totally kind to my dog, who is friendly but very excitable and barks a lot when a stranger is at the door, which I understand can be intimidating. My spouse and I went to this place as a result of having a complimentary bed-n-breakfast stay close by. Out of ALL places that we chose to eat, we asked ourselves, "WHY THERE"??? I guess it's because we love Chinese food and felt that it was impossible to really mess it up. Well, we were wrong! We ordered Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice and Teriyaki Chicken. How in the world can one mess up two of the most popular dishes in Chinese restaurants? The Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice was so greasy that it glistened! Beef normally comes with it, but I asked if I could substitute it with broccoli. I was told that I could, but it would cost $2.00 extra? Broccoli costs more than beef?? The Teriyaki chicken had a bitter-overly-sweet sauce with strips of dry chicken that tastes much like chicken-flavored cardboard, and broccoli that was very hard -- the kind that you get at restaurants that specialize in breakfast, but if you get a dinner, the broccoli is always hard and barely cooked. One of us got hot tea which we asked to be refilled twice - and each time, they used the same teabag. WHAT??? The only good thing about that food is that it filled us up because we were starved. I would never eat there again! The food was just terrible, the waitresses with nothing to do just stood there and stared at us as we were eating, and filthy wet white rags were just sitting on ledges which was hideous to look at while eating. They should have been totally out of the sight of customers. We concluded that Nano must be a "front" for a gambling joint or something because it can't POSSIBLY continue to be in business based on the quality of the food! read more

The consensus seems to be that Joss is the better sushi restaurant, but I prefer Nano. It's not great, but Annapolis seems to be lacking on quality sushi. After my vast disappointment with the Spicy Real Crab Meat California roll, I decided to play it safe here and have the crunchy spicy salmon roll. They used freshly sliced salmon, as a opposed to the premade stuff in the container, which I prefer. They certainly did not skimp on the tempura. I am not usually one on presentation but the whole plate just looked messy. Additionally my rolls were falling apart each time I tried to pick one up. The food tasted good, not the best I have ever heard, but nowhere close to being the worst but I found myself hungry again a couple of hours later. The service was nice and I got my order quick relative to being their during the lunch rush. I guess if I am doing sushi for lunch, I will probably make this my usual spot, but if anyone knows of another place, I am open. read more

it was definitely awful sushi. the fish 4 sushi was not fresh. i would never go there again. Nano is not a place for sushi lover, which we ordered sushi rolls and we only can taste the sushi rice and not the fish. what a pricey sushi. read more
