We love dining here- the menu has so many delicious options. They are one of the few places to still serve inside and outside throughout covid. Their service nor food quality have faltered. I usually get the hamburger with crispy fries. If you like broccoli, get the sautéed broccoli as an extra charge. The ribs are fantastic and so is the jambalaya pasta. The cakes are the highlight. There are few words to describe how much we love the desserts from Nantucket Grill. Our favorite is the strawberry shortcake - 9 layers of soft, buttery cake and strawberry/whipped cream goodness. A full "slice" costs about $10 but don't be fooled by the nomenclature: a slice is enough to share among 4 people (or 2 if you're like us and love cake). There are many other decadent desserts available as well. The restaurant is starting to get fairly busy for dine-in now, and there is plenty of outdoor seating available. We ordered online through Nantucket's website and it was a pretty seamless experience. Our order was ready in the expected timeframe (about 30 mins). read more

Great food! This place is always consistent. I usually order the grilled salmon...can't go wrong with that! I recently moved to Durham and live in walking distance to this restaurant. Due to COVID, this has become my go to stop weekly. Overall, I have no complaints. The food is good. I normally order the Salmon Salad. The to go Chicken Salad is AWESOME!!! Ah, by far my favorite chicken salad! Oh and the cakes are amazing. The food was good, I was expecting bigger filets of cod for the price they're charging for a "Seafood Platter." And, although the seafood was packaged in aluminum foil, it would have been nice to have been allowed to drain a little more before being dMy butter and sour cream should have be in the bag with the dessert. I wasn't sent any tartar sauce or cocktail sauce for my fish. No lemon slices were sent either. The portion served was small for the price charged as well. I would have liked some salt/pepper, and option to request more sour cream and butter for my baked potato. I loved the selection of desserts, they should offer descriptions of all of them though. I also was surprised that they charge $10+ for a slice of cake. It was delicious, see my picture below, but I want a thicker slice for that price. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. I had a late lunch there last week & ordered my usual, Salmon scampi pasta. It took a lot longer than usual & when I received my order the Salmon was very dry & over cooked. I had to flag down someone other than my server due to the fact she never came to check on me. When I brought it to their attention, they acknowledged the Salmon was way over cooked & went to discuss with the manager. She came back to inform me that they were only going to charge me for the pasta. I was taken aback, however, I paid for it & left. I did not order a pasta dish; I ordered a Salmon dish. Under no circumstances should this have been an acceptable resolution. I will no longer be going to Nantucket Grill if this is how they are going to conduct business. Very disappointing. read more

Went here for the first time for a birthday lunch. Loved the atmosphere and the decor and the outside seating and lights. I ordered the Jambalaya pasta and it was delicious. It had lots of flavor. Definitely a good choice. There were just a couple of little things that were off about the experience. My pasta was a little cool when I got it. And sadly, it's not pictured because, well, it was just too good was the cake. OMG! Their cakes are gigantic and so delicious. It's so light and airy yet so sweet and satisfying all at once. I went to Nantucket this weekend for the glowing dessert reviews. I had originally had their food at a work event several years ago from the Chapel Hill locations and didn't love the vegetarian option I got (some kind of mushroom/veggie burger). Yesterday I went by and got four flavors of cake - strawberry shortcake, caramel, carrot, and tiramisu. They were all pretty amazing and big enough to last for days. On my way out I saw some good looking chocolate chip cookies I should've gotten so of course I went back today just for a couple of cookies. While out and about it ended up being lunchtime anyway so I gave the food a try again. My husband and I split some nachos with the vegetarian chili (I love when vegetarians have this option), and I really enjoyed them! They had a little kick and a lot of a flavor. I'll definitely be back for the nachos and desserts, maybe even give the burger another chance. The food here is excellent. Everything is seasoned to perfection. I so much want to like this place. The problem is the service is very slow and inattentive. I understand a place taking their time to prepare everything fresh. But I expect our waiter to check in regularly to make sure we're doing okay. This is the second time we've been to this restaurant. Both times we've had to wait ten minutes after being seated to our table before we even get water and a greeting from our server. This time after our meal was delivered we were in need of refills and a side of a condiment. We waited at least ten minutes without a sign of our waiter. I finally had to ask another waiter to send our waiter. At least while we were waiting I had an opportunity to chase after a roach to entertain us. (In all fairness, we were sitting outside. This might be normal for that kind of setting.). I want desperately to support local businesses. But if we are dropping over $100 for a meal there should be a certain level of attentiveness. I'm not sure we'll be back with so many other choices in the area. read more
