After checking out Target's lousy selection of vacuums that all looked like they'd be in the e-waste pile within a few months, we decided to look here. The owner (sorry, I'm bad with names) was the one working and within ten minutes, he'd recommended a vacuum based on our needs and budget. Never once did I feel pressured to buy a more expensive unit and there were no upsells or anything like that. He was super friendly, clearly knew his stuff, and sold us a Titan T3200 along with an additional box of vacuum bags. I did some research after getting home and Napa Valley Vacuum's pricing was competitive compared to online - there was no markup, and we got to support a local business. The owner offered to assemble it for us for free, but we opted to just do it ourselves. The new vacuum works great, and seems well built. I don't doubt this will last a very long time. As a bonus, we were told that the vacuum includes two free annual services and they'd even throw a new bag in at that time. How cool is that? Overall, I'd give more than five stars if I could, and really appreciate this business. Highly recommended! read more

These guys know their vacuums! Truly old school, first class service. Really appreciate that they provide estimates for free - dropped off our vacuum at the end of the week, they let us know they'd call us by Tuesday with an estimate, and they did just that. Unfortunately our vacuum wasn't worth repairing but they were kind enough to recycle it for us. Gave us some recommendations for our next vacuum, I just wish they offered a better warranty on the vacuums they sell. read more

Came there to look for the repair of my sewing machine. The guy is very nice and polite. He pointed out the problem and said it is possible to be repair. However, the minimum charge is app. $200 which is equivalent to the price of a new brand new machine, one I had. Thus, I opted not to repair it and created more waste. I bought our new Miele white pet upright vacuum cleaner. I had only intended to go in and look but I ended up buying it after about 25 minutes. Leo is the weekend salesman and he was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had comparing with another vacuum. He was patient as I sometimes asked the same thing a couple of times. If you have a kid, chances are that you have experienced that awful sound of something lodged in your vacuum or worse. This is the best place to take it to get fixed. This time it was bark, last time was dried play dough( in case anyone cares). Dave and his team are amazing! They also fix numerous items besides vacuums and sewing machines. Brought our 15 year old Dyson over for a cleaning and tune-up as the brush had stopped rotating. They went through the entire machine, cleaned it up, changed the filters and installed a new belt to the brush. It was done quickly, on budget/quote, and super great communication with prompt call backs etc. Great to work with a shop that can fix things! Another big save from going to the landfill. Machine is good as new and service department assured us that it will serve us many more years. read more

This place is fantastic! I buy my vacuums for both home use and work from them. They've got a great selection, their prices are reasonable and their offer first year free servicing on all purchases. They turned me on to a cordless vacuum by Riccar....which I love. I bought it for our campground where we don't have power and now use it for everything. In terms of service and repair, they've fixed just about everything for me including a mechanical miniature ferris wheel, sewing machine, toaster, lamp and my vacuums. In this day and age of big box stores and Mega marts, Valley Vacuum and Sewing is a very refreshing change. I don't have a continual need for service on vacuum cleaners (or sewing machines), but when I do there is no better place to go than Dave's Valley Vacuum and Sewing. I brought in our Shark vacuum on Sat. with a problem. I explained we needed back by Tuesday evening. He said he would (for a small fee) expedite the service. I returned this afternoon, Monday, and the vacuum was working great - and no charge as he explained it was an easy fix. This is typical of how they operate. Dave, Jim and the whole crew are knowledgeable, friendly and polite. The fact the shop has been in business for over 60 years is a testament to it's great people and excellent service. I have been bringing my vacuum's here for repair for years -- even the ones I haven't purchased from them -- and they are always upfront about costs, and great with communication as the job goes along. Most of all, I appreciate how knowledgeable they are. They frequently offer discounts on refurbished vacuums and also offer a warranty on their products. They sell quality vacuums for every budget. If you have an older vacuum, or even a newer one, take it to them, they will be honest and fair about whether they can repair it, or if it's in your best interest to just purchase a new one. After purchasing new bedroom carpeting, I went to Napa Valley Vacuum and Sewing to purchase a new vacuum. The pile on my new carpet was higher than my previous carpet and it was very hard for me to push my vacuum. I told the gentleman who waited on me that I wanted something not to expensive, but that you could adjust the vacuum head for different pile heights. He was very nice and showed me what he had in my price range for what I wanted. I purchased the vacuum, came home and tried it out. I still could not push the vacuum easily over the pile. I went back to the store and said the vacuum I just purchased didn't work for me either. He was so nice and sent me home with two more different vacuums try and one of them was the perfect one. This place got good reviews-so I thought I would try them. I typically wouldn't take the time to write this review, but since their main customers seem to be elderly women (sewing machines and vacuums) and I would NOT want my experience to happen to my own mother- I am taking time to tell of my experience. I realize times are hard, there's Covid- but I am very upset! Took a Dyson vacuum that just needed to be cleaned up and was missing a small screw, worked just fine and a floor mop/vacuum that I think had mineral deposits to this shop to be looked at and potentially worked on. I asked them repeatedly if they provide estimates prior to doing work, I was told, "yes and that there would be a $20 charge that would be applied towards the work on the floor mop.", which which I said, "fine". Then I was told someone would call me in the next few days with an estimate. On the 3rd day hearing nothing from them, I call. Ask about my machines- was told," Yes, I have one machine in front of yours and I will call you in a bit with the estimate." "Great!", I said and headed to work. No call. Something told me the next day to just go get your machines- glad I did! (I guess I should have known when I was given zero paperwork in exchange for dropping off my items- MY bad.) Arrive at the store- 3 elderly women dropping off sewing machine and a vacuum I believe. I ask for my machines- and low and behold, "I was just working on your machine!" I see that indeed he had my floor mop on the bench. I say, "that's ok I'll take my machines please." The gentleman has my tag out on the counter and I see he has the charges at $147! Are you kidding me? And again no call, no "ok" to complete work on one machine (Dyson) that needed a tiny screw and one that I ONLY paid $100 for (floor mop)! I guess I am hopeful that they only try and "get" the younger gals (50's ), and not those that are on fixed incomes and won't argue when they go to pick up the machines that they work on without authorization and hold customers items hostage for work done. I am also hoping that this was just my bad luck- but I cannot day I will EVER return or recommend them to anyone. read more

Tom is my hero! My vacuum had been blown out for 3 months and I had been borrowing the neighbor's machine to vacuum. Finally a friend told me about Napa Valley Vacuum. Tom came and got the vacuum out of my car and carried it in. I described what had happened and he said it sounded like good news. Tom: "Did you try the reset switch?" Me: Blink. Blink. "There's a reset switch?" Tom pushed the button, plugged in the vacuum, and voila! Magic. I had NO idea my vacuum had a reset. He cleaned out the hose and the beater bar and placed it back in my car and never charged me a dime. I highly recommend them based on superior customer service! Thank you! read more

The customer service is Amazing! I stopped by with my clogged up rainbow vacuum in the trunk and started to get my vacuum to carry it in and a young man came up and carried it in for me. The turn around time was only a week and when I picked it up, I didn't even recognize my vacuum! It was like a brand new rainbow! And for waaaaay less than I spent on it 8 years ago. Mind you, it's Never been serviced in all that time, so they had some serious work cut out for them. Best part is, I just vacuumed (by the way I have 3 dogs and 3 cats) and it vacuums like it's brand new! I am one happy customer who will definitely be returning! read more

My fairly new Shark vacuum cleaner had no suction although motor was running. I brought into this shop. The owner w expert experience and knowledge immediately diagnosed where blockage was and manually moved it along the interior hose and freed the blockage . He refused payment. I took my newer Singer sewing machine in to be serviced since it was seizing up. The owner was so nice! He basically opened it up and lubricated everything and didn't charge me anything since the real problem was a bearing that was almost inaccessible and he didn't want to charge me so much for a machine that really wouldn't be worth all that work. It's running better although not perfect. I highly recommend them for honesty and having the customer's best interest in mind. read more

I went in Friday right before closing time and the staff was super nice, one man saw me getting out of my car ran over to get my sewing machine and carry it in for me. They asked my daughter if she wanted to feed their fish- explained they didn't have time (it was like 5:25) to look at it right then but would get back to me on Monday. Monday comes, no call so at 4 I called in to check, the guy remembers me, apologizes profusely (apparently my machine was put in the pick up area instead of look at area) and said he would call me in 15 minutes after looking at it. He did and it turned out it just had the wrong bobbin type in it, he replaced it and replaced the needle and had it working like a charm. He didn't even charge me for the bobbin or needle he replaced and he carried it back out to my car. No question about it- ANY problems I ever have with my sewing machine or vacuum I will be on their doorstep. read more

About 6 months ago, I was asked detailed questions on my home and our needs and was sold a spectacular vacuum cleaner that was best suited for my family. I've brought several sewing machines in for service over the years and have been satisfied in the past but after today's experience I think I'll find another repair shop. I took a lightly used Husqvarna machine in over two weeks ago for "cleaning and adjustment". I wasn't given a copy of the repair ticket so I wasn't aware that it was written up as a "mini service", which I later found out included "minor cleaning". I picked up my machine today (second trip to Napa to pick it up because they never called to say it wasn't ready last time) and as I was paying I opened up the machine to have a look. It was filthy! There was dust, lint, and thread inside. I said so and it was then I found out the machine had been give a "minor cleaning". Not exactly what i asked for when I took it in, and the "mini service" is only 20 bucks cheaper than the regular service. I don't really care about the 20 bucks, I wanted my machine cleaned. When I asked what HAD been done to it I couldn't get an answer beyond "checking it over". Again, not what I asked for. I didn't want to make yet a 4th trip to Napa so I took my still-dirty machine and left. I'll see what I can accomplish on my own with a can of air and some Q-Tips. The worst part was the man in the shop seemed to find the whole thing amusing, as if he was pleased he got the better of me or he thought it was funny that I didn't know what was included in their "mini service", which was not what I asked for anyway. Seventeen days and 80 bucks later, my machine is still filthy. On the plus side, they did glue the broken thread cone holder. Time to find another repair shop. read more

The customer service is #1 here. I brought in an old sewing machine for a service. Dave behind the counter greeted me with a kind smile and helped me out right away. The next morning they call with a quote for the repair and it was finished by that afternoon. Very fast!! My sewing machine was given a fabulous spa treatment by Tom. He also showed me how to thread the machine which was very helpful because it is new to me and I didn't have the manual yet. Then he carried the machine out to my car for me. I was greatful for that too because it is really heavy. I would definatly recommend these guys for any sewing machine or vacuum repair or purchase. read more

I used this palace years ago and liked it but this time I took my Vacuum to be repaired it because it wouldn't close properly and the guy said they would look at it and service it for $99. When I picked up my vacuum, it was cleaned but the guy laughed when I asked about why it still didn't close right and he said" it's not something they do on older vacuums". Would have liked him to be up front in the first place. He wanted to sell me bags for $37 which is $12 more than I've paid elsewhere and a micro filter (which I bought) but could have also gotten that cheaper. read more
