This place is the best Italian restaurant in Denton TX, hands down! U will not go wrong, pick-up or doordash it. Fyah!(5 flame kitchen game)

I was in the mood for lobster ravioli, but with it being so cold and rainy I wasn't going to make the trek to my usual spot. I started searching for Italian delivery and the only place I could find to deliver lobster ravioli was Napoli's. I viewed their menu online which was a strain on the eyes as you can't zoom in- should have asked for a to go menu. The menu was traditionally Italian with a lot of dishes the imposter Italian places don't have so I was quite hopeful based on their selection. In addition to the classics they also have pizza, seafood and sandwiches. They also serve beer and wine. The prices were extremely reasonable with a lot of items in the $7-9 range, a few in the $11-14 range and even cheaper lunch specials. I found this surprising and even started to get uneasy about the quality I should expect. The ordering process was almost painful. A woman with a very heavy accent and I struggled to understand each other. There was a lot of repeating ourselves and when I hung up I wasn't sure if the entire order was recorded. Later someone else called back to confirm my address, which was a much easier conversation. I called in the order a little before 5pm and while I waited I pondered the concept of cheap Italian for the masses and what my expectations should be considering that it was quite reasonable and I was cozy at home instead of venturing out for it. I received a call back by a very apologetic delivery driver, seems one of the drivers had not shown up and he was on his way. Some people might be annoyed by this but I appreciate the call and apology instead of leaving me wondering for another 20 minutes. I ordered mozzarella cheese, lobster ravioli and a cannoli and also received a complimentary salad and rolls- it was a lot of food that came out to $20.70 with tax. The rolls were delicious, flavorful and hearty. They were also big and I wish I had dined in so I would have more than two! The mozzarella cheese was okay but they were a very light shade and the cheese wasn't really melted. May have been an off night but I don't think I would bother ordering those again. What I will say is the marinara smelled delicious, I actually had a flashback to my Nana's kitchen when I was little. You could see and taste the spices, definitely superior to many of the places in town. The lobster ravioli was actually cheese ravioli with lobster which isn't what I was expecting. Most of the lobster was very good but several of the pieces were chewy. You may think that I would be disappointed with the lobster ravioli since the lobster wasn't inside the ravioli and several of the pieces were chewy but you would be wrong. That ravioli was delicious. Big, hand made pieces stuffed with ricotta and flavorful and creamy and downright yummy! The pink sauce was fantastic and filled with spices and as I was dunking my bread in it I bemoaned that there wasn't more! I haven't had a ravioli that good in at least a decade. At this point, considering the price point of this place and the size of their menu and that they hand make their pasta I can forgive that their version of lobster ravioli wasn't exactly what I was expecting, I bet this way helps to keep their price point down. So at this point I have eaten this meal, transported to my childhood in a New York kitchen where my maternal grandmother made authentic Italian food with aromas that filled the entire house. Eh, so the mozzarella cheese wasn't awesome but this place does fantastic bread, sauces and ravioli on the cheap, that's kind of a miracle. Now it's time for the cannoli. This place doesn't offer an original and chocolate like other places and good, I wouldn't order chocolate. Anyone can cover up a mistake with chocolate. I always order the original and there is only one place in town that does a cannoli to my standards. I opened the box and it was so fragrant! I dipped my finger in and tasted it... heavenly! That cannoli cream is extremely well done with the perfect texture and so creamy it was immediately melting on my tongue. The pastry was crunchier than it should be, though it didn't taste bad, and it wasn't filled as much as I would have liked it to be. That didn't stop me from attacking it in a very unladylike fashion though. The cream is so perfect I would order a tub of it if they sold it that way, and crunchy pastry or not, I will definitely order this again! Perhaps not the perfect meal, but when you look at this being a cheap Italian place with big portions, they have some real gems in there that exceeded expectations. Sauce and pasta are the foundation of Italian food, you have to do those right and Napoli's delivered on that! You do an authentic cannoli cream? You got a friend for life in me! This may not be where I go for a beautiful, perfect meal on a special occasion but it will definitely be where I go when I miss my Nana's cooking. read more

We went into the restaurant at an off-time, late afternoon. There was no greeter and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Big menu, large portions, good prices. Eggplant rollatini was not fully cooked. Spaghetti was mushy and marinara sauce bland. Meatballs were good and garlic rolls excellent. Tiramisu was mostly frozen but we actually liked it that way. We'll probably go back for garlic rolls and dessert. read more

Came at a in between lunch and dinner time was was served promptly and allowed to stay as long as I needed to relax and savor my meal. The spaghetti carbonara was not a typical presentation but still tasty with a pink creamy sauce and sliced ham with fresh fresh mushrooms and tomatoes. The side salad was nothing special but the Hot Garlic Rolls were wow! Soaked up the yummy sauce nicely. The unsweetened tea had an interesting spice to it but pleasant. Before I walked in I was singing "that's amore" and when we walked in guess what was playing on the house sound system... you guessed it, "that's amore"! What does that mean? Well, absolutely nothing....now on to the food I ordered the clam and marinara fettuccine and it was delicious. The bread was a little microwave-tough but still good. The salad, not so great. Had a taste of the eggplant and it was good. The service was great. I would eat at this place again, real hard. PS The walls are as bare as you can get and the joint is in a strip mall but what can you do. This is still TX afterall. We did try the lasagna as well but I prefer more meat and cheese. The lasagna was good but very very cheesy vs meaty. My only suggestion would be to add a little bit more meat. read more

Was really really looking forward to good Italian food for lunch and got nothing but a super greasy barely any meat in it lasagna with alfredo sauce and the calamari was greasy, overcooked, and NO flavor. DO NOT ORDER from this place. You will be disappointed. Sad I cant get my money back and now I'm still hungry for lunch. There was so much grease in the lasagna I could hardly eat it. Daughter was not a fan of the Ziti, I had the Linguini and Clams and was disappointed in the fact I did not get the actual "clam" in the shell which I was hoping for, other than that, it tasted really good and there was a ton of food on my plate. Napolis is where you go if you have forgotten what hospital food tastes like. This place is a disgrace. I had chicken Parmesan which was gray. No one in my party of three ate more than a few bites of this horrific slop which took 45 minutes to get to our table. Do yourself a favor and patronize any dumpster and you'll get a better meal. Absolutely disgusting. Oh, and they forgot our appetizer until we'll after our food arrived and it took ten minutes to get a glass of water. Bad service, bad food, bad everything. This family owned restaurant is great for the price. The manicotti is a favorite for us. Is it gourmet? No. Is it well above Olive Garden abd Marcaronl Grill for flavor? That's a yes for me. Dine in is ok but not much atmosphere in the little shopping center. However, it's close to my daughter's school and we've had some really great times in those red booths. Their food is pretty good. Their bread is amazing and I love their house Italian dressing. The prices are also great. However, their customer service is severely lacking. When at my parents, we often pick up from them as they are close and decent. On multiple occasions are orders have been wrong and then when try to fix the order, the woman we have dealt with is rude and condescending. I don't pay to get food from out to have absolutely awful customer service, especially when I have previously worked in the industry for years. Again the food is pretty good, but the constant lack of good customer service makes me want to pay a little bit more for even better food and much better service. read more

Small quaint and at the evening romantic Italian food restaurant. Stopped in on a chance and found the proprietor and governor to be very friendly and most of all the food was exquisite. I don't use that word very often with food, the shrimp and scallops with a light cream sauce around $13. the shrimp scaloppini was as good as I've had and I've been to the old country. It's not up to par for a quick lunch in and mine was an afternoon lunch around 3 p.m. a place that you could sit, relax and conversation with a romantic bottle of wine. There is a small quaint bar with tables and would make a great starter for a night out. I will return the sample other cuisines on the menu. read more

Original review below: I ordered (for delivery via doordash) Lasagna, Mozzarella cheese sticks, and Tiramisu. I received those items and two pieces of appetizer bread in short order. Good! The best item among all of them is the bread, and it was initially underwhelming. The Mozzarella cheese sticks had seemingly zero seasoning on the breading and the breading itself just was not awesome. Lasagna I think over uses Mozzarella in the layers, doesn't have enough meat, and just wasn't awesome in flavor. This could be in part because I've already eaten too much today, but I still assert there are quality issues. The Tiramisu seems low on flavor to me versus others I've had, and I'm wanting to let it thaw--the top layer is pretty frozen. Will see how it is maybe if I don't eat it all first (impatience of pigging out). I might microwave it to speed the process, though that could be a bad idea. The plus side of all of it for Napoli: While I've stopped short of finishing based on a mix of fullness and dissatisfaction, I'm saving the leftovers in the fridge and prayed I'll eat the lasagna (before it goes bad). Our first experience here was great, but our second one was awful. Our waitress, Hajrie was amazing and she was the only one waiting on so many tables so felt bad for her. We weren't satisfied with our food. The complimentary bread we got was burnt on the top. The salad with my entree was basically lettuce with two shreds of cut up tomatoes and some carrots. The dressing was put on the side and didn't look appetizing at all. The mozzarella cheese sticks were not good and the marina sauce smelled and tasted like salsa and was watered down. We walked in on a sunday afternoon with my hunger in tow and grabbed a booth. the un-enthusiatic waitstaff took our drink order and I opened the menu to start creating my pizza. I was disappointed to see the lack of topping choices, but i figured that simple was better any way. We ordered up a Sausage pizza and I prepared to be dazzled. When the pizza arrived i noticed how disproportionately it had been assembled. The ingredients were "clumped" together and not evenly distributed. I know, a simple complaint, but I am a stickler for presentation. And then he first bite. It was bland. A soggy crust smothered in a watery and bland tomato sauce. I was completely let down. We've never had a bad experience in the restaurant, but our last visit made me think we should warn those who do take out. We recently opted for take out, since the kids weren't behaving and we didn't want to subject anyone to their antics. The food at Napoli's is great, and I love anything with their white sauces. But on this trip, the plastic container tops became brittle when the hot pastas were put in. When we got home, one of the containers had cracked and we had small, hard, plastic shards in the one of the dishes. Couldn't eat it, which was a waste of $10. We had a take-out version of the menu in our menu drawer at home and decided that this was definitely a place to try. Loved this (and so did everyone else). A NICE portion for $6.99. For dinner, I ordered the Linguine and Red Clam Sauce, hubby ordered a tortellini dish, my daughter ordered spaghetti & marinara sauce and we got cheese ravioli for the 3-year-old. Everything came out nice and hot, and tasted great. Portion sizes were definitely generous. I always said that the sign of a good Italian restaurant is the quality of the sauce. They definitely passed this test. Next time we go back (and YES there will be a next time...), I want to try the pizza. Overall this is going to be a new regular restaurant for us. Denton is lacking in solid Italian restaurants and I was ecstatic to find this one. While the atmosphere could be improved, the food makes up for the lack in atmosphere. I had pasta in a white wine creme sauce, artichoke, and chicken. We also ordered the calamari The calamari was over cooked and most pieces seemed to be just batter. Both spaghettis were just blah. This an excellent place for italian. The pizza's are new york style, with great cheeze and sauce. I also tried the shrimp scaloppini with mussels and scallops, sauteed in a sherry wine, very good. The veal Marsala is also very good. Try the minestrone soup with chicken, you wont find any better in the world. We've been there many times, never a disapointment. This is not a noisy hangout type of place, you can enjoy your meal without the annoying buzz. They have great wines and its out of the way, very nice place. read more

I love Napolis! My husband and I usually order their pizza, which we think is better than anyone's around. We get the large Alfredo pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives. Add an order of the stuffed mushrooms in alla panna (red & white) sauce and you're golden! We've also ordered the pasta, which is also delicious. I usually get the tortalini alla panna and my hubby gets the Chicken Dambianka his favorite. The wings are delicious too- nice and crispy. Napolis is our go to for pizza and pasta. The only thing that I don't like is the wait time for when you order delivery. There have been times where the food takes over an hour to get to your door. We ALWAYS order to go now. They usually say that it will be ready in 20 min so we go and pick it up and bring it back home. It's a lot faster and we are always happy. :) read more
