While I have only been in Amarillo for less than a year I feel that Napoli's is my favorite go to for comfort pasta. They season their dishes perfectly without over doing it like some other pasta joints in town. I love their service and they even do live music at times. I have been here a few times and the pasta is always perfect for my tastes. They offer pizza that is wonderful as well. This is a place downtown so parking is streetside and sometimes can be rough. It can get a bit pricey but to me it is definitely worth it because of the large portions! read more

I am so happy I stopped in at this restaurant. Napoli's was fantastic. I was greeted by a very friendly hostess (Macaela) who showed me to my table. She was also my waitress. She took the time to answer all my questions. They give you complimentary bread with a marinara sauce. This marinara sauce was so very good. After tasting this I knew the rest of my meal was going to be great. I highly recommend you get the Stuffed Mushrooms. They were so unbelievable good. The sauce they put the mushrooms in is OMG good. My meal of linguini noodles with seafood was fantastic. What really made it was the Sherry Cream sauce. This would be a restaurant I would come to all the time. read more

Passing through Amarillo, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant located downtown. We were quickly cheerfully greeted by Brittany. We requested a patio table as the temps were pleasant. As luck would have it, we were the only ones outside as other opted for AC. Brittany provided exceptional service throughout our meal. I was in the restaurant business and rarely have I experienced such warm and efficient service. The food was excellent! We ordered the chicken cacciatore and the shrimp scampi. The quantity was abundant and the quality outstanding. We could not have spent a better time than sharing a meal at Napoli's. Ohhhhh. Yelpers yall have let me down. I really read reviews and take those into account when choosing. I have to be brutally honest. This place is not authentic at all. I am just disappointed. The calamari was the only good thing about this place. And my son did like the chicken marsala. However I ordered the shrimp with crab alfredo and while it was a good portion. I got literally 4 shrimps and 1 lump of imitation crab meat, the sauce is not creamy. My husband got the pasta combo which was the size of a kids plate. The canoli was just disrespect to my stomache. I literally had to stab it 3 times before it broke. My husband ordered a drink that he only took 2 sips of. This is just my opinion on this place. The atmosphere is terrible here. We ordered drinks when we first sat down and our waitress forgot about them. It was t until our main meal came out that I reminded her. The salad was boring and something I could've put together at home. No extras at all just lettuce. We were driving through Amarillo and staying the night during Covid 19. This place was 1) Open for Dine In 2) Reasonably priced and 3) close to our hotel. This place reminded me of Italian places in NYC from the pictures so I wanted to try it...I must say! It did not disappoint! We had a little bit of everything off the menu! Calamari (delicious!) baked ziti was shareable between my 3 little girls! Seafood Rav was amazing! Calzone and the bread were soooo good! Service was great too! Initially, I had some hesitation to actually dine here. When I walked in the restaurant had an older feel and a diner vibe to it. It's comfortable but a bit outdated. I also noticed that some of the light fixtures could use a good dusting. Overall, my experience was good. The warm garlic knots they serve you after being seated is a nice touch and the portions are HUGE!! The menu is diverse and has a wide selection of Italian dishes. I decided on the chicken parmesan and it was good. Not the best I've ever had but good nonetheless. My server, Ixchel, was friendly and attentive. I appreciated that she kept refilling my iced tea without being asked. And when I finished eating she was prompt to clear my plate and ask if there was anything else that I needed. Since I was so full, I took dessert to go and I'm glad I did. The tiramisu is awesome!! read more

Napoli's - 3:00pm - Weds 8.24.16 I was downtown for an appointment and my dad suggested we all have lunch at Napoli's. They only had maybe two other tables at this time, so we were seated right away. I didn't get the name of the man who served us, but he seemed to be running the place since he was bouncing around the restaurant taking care of various tasks. He was very nice and he did a great job taking care of us. He automatically took care of getting to go drinks and boxes for us, which is always appreciated as a time saver. Our drinks were served promptly, alongside their fresh garlic knots and marinara. The fresh bread was delicious, but I didn't care for the marinara. I'm really picky about red sauces and this particular version was very heavy and acidic, perhaps too much tomato paste, or maybe it wasn't cooked down long enough. Not my favorite. Dad ordered Fettuccini Alfredo - he loved it and he ate every bite of the generous portion. My aunt ordered the Lasagna, she said it was even better than she remembered, and she had enough left over for another meal. I ordered the Veal Bistro - veal scaloppine tossed with mushrooms, shallots, and a dill cream sauce, over pasta. The dish came out so hot, I had to wait a bit to enjoy it. The portion size was huge (my fiancé ate my leftovers for dinner and loved it). The flavor of the sauce was just spot on - perfect balance of dill and creaminess. I did have to add a little salt - which is not something I do often - but with just a little hit of salt, the flavors really came to life. My only complaint is that he veal wasn't what I'm used to. I don't know if they use a lower-end product or what, but the texture wasn't quite as velvety as it should have been. Over all, this was a good meal. I may get the fiancé to take me for a date night so we can enjoy their patio, and try out some other dishes. read more

Went to Napoli's on a trip back to Texas from Colorado. It was great, food and service. The bread and marinara sauce they bring out first is fantastic. Since we did not eat enough of that bread, we ordered the Napoli's appetizer bread, it was great, like tiny Margherita Pizzas. Then we had the Caesar Salad with chicken. It was great as well. Originally from New York, I had very low expectations for Italian food in Amarillo, TX while visiting. I was wonderfully surprised and everything was good! I ordered Vicky's Special - penne with chicken, spinach, and mushroom in a white wine sauce. It was delicious and a generous portion. We also ordered chicken parm, which I was told was good, along with mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms. Both appetizers were solid. For dessert, we tried the cannoli and the chocolate mousse cake. My *only* complaints if I had to be nitpicky were that you could taste the oil from the cannoli shell, and the chocolate cake, while large in size, was not as good as it looked, imo. The cannoli filling was good though, and the cake was still decent, just not a rich chocolate dessert if that's what you're hoping for. Overall, I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in town again. We usually love this place and my husband is not a fan of Italian in general. The bread is generally fresh and hard to resist But they made it easy this time. It was stale and dry. When I ask for fresh bread the poor girl didn't know what to say. I guess she should have said we don't have any because what she brought was no better. (3.50 stars) Napoli's is situated in the heart of the downtown business and motel area, and its walking distance undoubtedly draws many business diners. The food, a mix of "red" (tomato-based) and "white" (wine and/or cream), makes Napoli's a "safe" choice for out-of-town business guests. The food, however, is considerably less predictable. In three dinner visits, nothing sampled was below average, but little was of the strata set by menu pricing. Being a native of northern NJ, an area where these cuisines border upon "generic restaurant food," I did, however, recognize both general quality and attentiveness coming from the Napoli's kitchen. Of particular note was the marinara, the backbone of Napoli's red dishes. Hats-off for not being afraid to adequately season the sauce ("gravy" back home), but I was never able to conclusively determine whether this was completely a homemade product. What did resonate poorly were the few seafood-based appetizers and entrees sampled. Each was literally drowning in a sauce of some sort, and didn't taste as fresh as they should. Portions, generally large, are, however, light in their seafood protein content. I understand that Amarillo is a long way from the nearest ocean, but the wiser decision would be to instead feature their chicken and veal dishes. $10 for eight mussels in marinara, when mussels are both inexpensive and easily transported, is ridiculous! On the upside, the chicken cacciatore, lasagna and manicotti are safe bets, and quite good. Fellow diners who chose the pasta, chicken and veal entrees seemed to be consistently pleased with their selections. They also offer a variety of thin-crust pizzas. Napoli's is the type of old-school Italian restaurant where diners are expected to linger over pleasant conversation, a glass or two of wine and a leisurely dining pace. The service speed is painfully slow, even in a half-filled dining room, and even by these standards. Further, the extended periods between each course seems to make the wait staff forgetful. Napoli's Italian Restaurant is certainly a pleasant place with good food. It is on the expensive side for what it offers, but is also one of the more notable upscale restaurants in the downtown area. read more

Went back Inside to dine, but should have just left. Business was slow and many tables inside were open. Host did not apologize for the seating mix-up. Waitress did not serve us promptly, did not offer a wine list, and needed more training. Served mediocre lasagna and pasta although the meatballs tasted pretty good; below average house red wine. Dry, grocery store quality chocolate cake served instead of chocolate mousse cake. No one asked us if we liked our food nor thanked us for coming in. Wow, staying one night in Amarillo and this place had some good reviews so we gave it a try. I'm really easy going, just want a nice place and some good food. This place was neither. The downtown area was sketchy, the hostess barely spoke to us, our waitress was really nice but the rest of the staff seemed very unfriendly. Just not a good vibe. The food was disappointing, seafood Alfredo with imitation crab meat and 3 shrimp. Entrees do not include salad. If you like Stouffer's frozen lasagna then this is the place for you. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately. Our waitress quickly greeted us and was outstanding throughout our visit. We ordered chicken parmesan and meat lasagna. Both were excellent. Tasted great, good portion size (we took half of each dish back to the hotel) and fair prices for a fairly nice Italian restaurant. Their complementary bread was delicious and all appetizers were 1/2 off so we ordered mozzarella sticks. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed. Visited this place on a Friday night. A man was singing in the bar area, it made it very pleasing atmosphere. Staff were nice and quick with service. Biggest complaint was with the food, we ordered a margarita pizza and it was discussing. It was around $15 for a 14" and it was clearly a frozen pizza. However, the pasta dishes being brought out looked delicious! The menu is also quite large and we will be going back to try the pasta. I recommend this place for date night and family/kids night out. I love this place! I just went there for the first time after an event at the Amarillo Civic Center. I was expecting Italian food on the Olive Garden level. Boy was I surprised! This food actually tasted authentic! Go figure! Everyone loved whatever they ordered. The next day we even ate the leftovers cold and still loved it. That's amazing. We got there around 5pm on a Saturday evening with a party of 6. We waited very briefly. The service was fast and very friendly. Our waiter joked with us. We saw lots of groups in there as well as couples. The menu had a great variety, offering more than pizza and spaghetti. Each plate was around $10. Perhaps a little higher although my chicken parmasian sandwich was under $10. Portions were huge! I ate about 1/3 of my sandwich. The parking lot is small so we had to park across the street. This was near the Amarillo Civic Center and we met some family and friends there for an early evening meal. I am not a big fan of Italian (other than soup and salad from Olive Garden - and that's not authentic). So I went safe and ordered pizza. The small one was so huge they must have thought I was from Texas. It was very good and better than Macaroni Grill and California Pizza Kitchen. I had enough left over so that we could consume it the following day - and that's two people who shared my leftovers. The patio was closed for the evening yet the restaurant was infested with flies they were everywhere, I even witnessed the bartender using a fly swatter to kill flies on the bar. My boyfriend ordered shrimp and crab fettuccine however when his order was brought out, we both took a couple of bites and discovered it was chicken. We notified the manager and he promptly returned with the correct dish, this should be good right? Well they took the chicken dish that we had already taken bites from to the proper owner! YUCK! This restaurant is located in a really clean, vibrant and revitalized downtown area. We walked here from hotel, had called ahead and let them know we had a big group and they had our table ready when we arrived. Friendly service, greeted by multiple people. Server was helpful and kind. The food just misses the mark a few ways. The shrimp and crab alfredo was in reality shrimp and krab. The eggplant parm was very thin and not breaded, which is different. The Don Special could have been served hotter and the cheese needed to be melted. I used to work in a restaurant and learned the fine skill of eating food piping hot, and really enjoy food served this way. That said the kids meals were sized and proved right. This is a cute little Italian restaurant in downtown Amarillo. As soon as we sat down they brought us these amazing little small garlic breads with marinara sauce on the side.
