I am absolutely furious with this optometry. Note that I've been going to this optometry for 8 years when you read my review and pit it against the more positive ones. Out of the 8 years I've needed glasses, I spent about 2 with contacts. For one year in high school I had them, decided I didn't like them, then in late 2011 decided I wanted contacts again for the convenience. I used PureVision torics in high school, but I didn't like having monthlies because I kept forgetting when to switch them - so I asked if I could get biweeklies or one-day lenses. They tell me they can't order bi-weeklies, but they have Acuve one-day lens, which I tried but didn't work. So I just kept the PureVision. This year when I came to order more and get a check up, they put me with a girl who can only speak Korean. Not too big of a deal, I can understand everything she's telling me and I more or less get the procedure after going through it so many times. But the problem is this girl is completely stupid. She doesn't understand any of my concerns; she keeps going off topic from my questions, and she just is stupid. Now I want to get my glasses updated and switch out my contacts. I get the exam, tell the doctor what's up with my contacts, and come back out. Here's where the issues start up. I asked for biweeklies again - and again they said they couldn't do it. Now I was starting to see glares when I was driving with my contacts, and wanted to see about a brand change. They said that the contacts don't have anti-UV coating and my astigmatism creates the glare, so why don't I wear AR coated lenses w/o a prescription with my contacts when I drive. Okay, I can do that! So I get fixed up with Biofinitiy contacts, (I tried a random pair to see how they felt) and some anti-glare glasses. They tell me to come back in a week or so to pick up my order. And I think cool, got my annual eye exam done. Now the following week I go back to pick up my order. They didn't order my trial lenses with the order because I was supposed go around wearing lenses that didn't fit my prescription (according to the girl who was helping me). But okay, they can order my new trial lenses and have it mailed to me! Great! Unfortunately, Biofinity didn't work either, it felt fine but everything was out of focus. Weird. So I go back again to return the contacts. Now remember the AR glasses I got to wear with my contacts? Well they didn't do shit, so I brought them with me to return as well. And what happens here is why after 8 years of loyally going here I have decided to never come back again. I get my eye reexamined, tell the doc what's up with the Biofinity (fits well, but out of focus) - and my goodness! Suddenly I can get biweeklies! Even though I couldn't get them the first two times I asked and really wanted them! First big what the fuck moment. Now comes the AR glasses deal. I had the frame from an old pair and only had the lenses switched out. They tell me they can't give me a refund - but they can give me the glasses with a non-reflective lenses. Which means, they can replace my useless glasses with another pair of useless glasses! AS IF THAT WAS THE PERFECT AND MOST REASONABLE SOLUTION. (And I'm leaving out the part where they tried to explain what AR coating was even though I already knew and needed 3 people to get to this point - shortening my temper). After repeating myself many times, (These glasses are ineffective. They don't do anything. They are useless. There is no difference when I have them on and off. I don't care if most people like them, they are not doing anything for me. Apparently none of these variations of wording were comprehensible to the staff), they tell me they can tint them and make sunglasses - after nearly 30 minutes of wasting my damn time. So I took it because frankly I was tired and wanted to be done. Now I'm waiting on my biweeklies, that I could've gotten a long time ago and the tinted glasses. I don't care too much for the glasses turned sunglasses, except for the part I'm pissed that they couldn't give me the alternatives to not getting a refund upfront. I'm praying these contacts work out because I don't want to deal with them ever again. Overall - if you want some cute designer shades or whatnot, they got choices. And they're good enough to deal with glasses. However, evidently they kept options away from me, they weren't upfront the choices I had one time a real issue with my order came, and they suck. Don't come here for contacts. Don't come here and expect good after service. Actually, if your eyes need real tending to - don't come here. After 8 years, I am done with this place and their shit service. NOTE: This review isn't about any of the brands I mentioned! Contacts and eye matches are unique! read more

So I came here around 3-4 times before finally settling on a pair of Dita frames. Kim was absolutely wonderful all the times I came and was extremely patient with me during the whole process. She was not very forceful either and did not push me too hard. She also remembered when I went on vacation to Vietnam and came back a month later. I called 15 minutes before they take their last exam patient and asked how much they were and if I could still come as a walk in. They ended up being cheaper that Walmart and way better! I like their interior design, variety of glasses, and all, but the service of their staffs stinks! I was their costumer for about three years, and I ordered contact lenses on March, 2010. They had a service that allows customers to exchange their lenses if they require a different prescription as long as the boxes are in good condition. (*You still have to buy something in the store or they won't exchange it.) I went today (July, 2011) for a new prescription and I bought new glasses. So I requested exchange of my old lenses too. But they refused, saying they have a "policy" that exchange of lenses is only good within a year. They never told me about such policy (which I think they just made it up at the moment) when I was getting lenses back in 2010. If they have mentioned such a policy one year ago, I wouldn't complain anything. I mean, come on. If you buy like a 50ml bottle of lotion, they will explain all the policy and rules on the backside of receipt. But they DIDN'T! They also said their contract period has expired with the company of my old lenses, so they can't do anything. WTF? Is it my fault that they had some trouble with the company and got a new one? Also, there is no reason why they refuse my request since my lenses would expire on 2013! After arguing for like an hour, they said they will change the lenses. But they didn't match my exact prescription, so I can't see very far even with the lenses. I've been feeling that their service is not great for last few years. Uhhhg, they will go INSANE when it comes to money issues. If you think they have great service, complain anything about money matter, and you will see how they can behave craaazy. If you want to get glasses/lenses near Garden Grove, go to different store. There are like five different optometry stores in Garden Grove. Long story short, DO NOT GO TO this stinky place! read more

I arrived at the store at 9:45am, waiting for the store to open at 10:00am. At 10:00am, the store was still closed. At 10:15am, they opened the door. I went inside and sat down at the counter. There were about 7 people behind the counter, but not one of them asked if they could help me. I waited until 10:30am and finally asked if anyone was going to help me get a pair of sunglasses. They all ignored me. I have never in my life been to a store so RUDE in my life!!!! I hope that if you're thinking about choosing this store, then go somewhere else if you actually would like customer service. Buyer BEWARE!!! read more

Stopped by this place shopping for prescription frames & was quite disappointed with the customer service. The worker & manager are shady. Their business is fishy. I asked to see Chanel frames & they told me because I wasn't referred by anyone I can't see the Chanel frames. What the heck?! Also the worker told me if she shows me the Chanel frames to keep it on the down low & not go tell anyone because the Irvine store is only authorized to sell the Chanel frames. Well since you refuse to show me, I think the whole world & Chanel company should know about this ridiculous situation. Shady business will make you lose customers! Went into get new glasses. They said they would look into my insurance and call me back by Mon or Tues and never heard from them. When i gave my insurance they said there was an error and did not know how it was covered. But they knew enough to confirm that i had a prescription already billed this year. I got the feeling that they thought if my insurance didnt cover what they wanted then i wasnt going to pay. They were not willing to note what glasses i was looking at and stated they will just hold it for me till i came back. Now how can i be sure which glasses they were without any notes on the style or the maker as there are so many styles and sizes to choose from? Anyhow, the price wasn't cheap but i was ready to pay. In the end it worked out for me because i went ro another place and i found a couple of great eyeglass frames for $50 less each and they look great. Had to pay but it was ok. Too bad Nara you lost your sale for $750.00 to another competitor. read more

I've been visited to Nara Optometry for 3 consecutive years. This store has been the best place to get the care for your eyes deserve. It was amazing that I've not experienced elsewhere. The staff (Anna Moon) was very helpful and friendly. She patiently answers all my questions and takes the time to explain the purpose behind different glasses. It made me feel as a valued customer. The store is new, clean and modern and they carry a vast collection of sun glasses and frames that fit my preference in brand and design. The price is reasonable for the designer brand products. Recently, I have recommended to my co-worker for her contact lenses and the feedback from her is positive. Wish I could rate 0 for this business. They ripped me off by getting me pay $150 for the kids' frame which I later found out that I could have gotten it for $30-40 elsewhere. Try to avoid talking to an elderly Korean lady there. She's the owner of the shop who has zero knowledge about the eyeware she's selling and has zero respect for the customers. She just keeps on being really annoying. Their bad reputation got spread among Korean community and many Koreans stopped going to this place. I been going here for the past 4 years or so. The service here is slow and employees do not pay attention to you. It probably because it's always busy when I come in. The employees don't really help me and focuses more on the older customers even when I came first. I give this place a one star because recently my boyfriend took me to his optometrist place because I told him I dont get acknowledge and my doctor choose to ignore about my lazy eye problem. So I got a check up at my new eye doctor place and I told them about my concern of my lazy eye and I notice it got worse and I been having trouble driving at night. The doctor then told me the old eye dr had neglect my left eye. I then found out it got worse over the past years when it could be treated right away.There was a possibility of me going blind or in need of a cornea transplant. I was upset because for the past years I kept on telling my eye doctor that my lazy eye is deteriorating and its not normal. Also I can't see when I am driving at night everything is like a blur. But the eye dr kept on telling me I am still young and not used to the road and my eye sight will get better. What doesn't make sense is a lazy eye can't improve naturally. It needs treatment! Great customer service, variety of frames, the staffs are very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, even though i walked in on a busy Saturday of last week, the staff still acknowledged me and offered to help me choose the perfect frame thats fit my face shape, it didn't take long for an eye exam and next thing i know i will be back next week to pick up my glasses. I remembered i was frustrated when choosing a frame because its hard to find a perfect frame and the young girl that helped me can see how frustrated i am and she softly said "i understand how you feel girl, you are choosing a frame that you will wear all day, everyday so it's important to choose the right frame, you take as much time as you needed, im here to help you if you have any question " price is a little pricey but customers service definitely paid it off.
