Visited this new restaurant early last week with a friend looking for something different than the typical Thai, Malaysian and Chinese restaurants in the area. Thankfully they did not disappoint... the food was delicious. Many items on the menu were really different and unique than one of the typical restaurants. The decorations and ambiance was really well done and place was clean. Of course, that's easy when it's new. We will see after a year or so. They lost most of their stars with the service area. Staff were really friendly but some of the food took too long to come out. There was also a mixup on one of the dishes. With this place I expected premium, so that's a big part of the experience. I met the owner and he explained to me that this is not the norm. Was told the place was only open about 2-3 weeks and had a whole new staff and short on help in some areas. I can understand this as I used to work in food services, I know how much of a headache every new place goes through. Overall will definitely return in a few weeks and see when things are in order. Seeing some recent review looks like it's gotten better. The food was fantastic and this is the type of place you won't find unless you go to NYC. read more

Very Poor customer service! The place is under staff and their underage son should not be working their as a busboy, it's a violation of child labors and CPS should be contacted including the department of labor. Also the establishment practices are very racist. My family of four arrived before the white people with a party of 10 and they choose to serve them first. After two of our menus were taken away and given to the same group of people, we left after 30 minutes of no service. When my husband confronted the host who stated that the white people had a movie to catch...WTF! read more

Probably the best Thai place in Monmouth County, it has everything a customer would want. This hole in the wall spot has great food, fast service, fancy decor;but it is hard to find in the tiny strip mall. The authentic Thai flavors in their dishes are quite a surprise. Ate here last night with my wife. A young boy hosted & he was so nice and astute. Food was AMAZING. We ordered 3 taste duck, i actually could not believe how delicious it was. Had to stop myself from eating too much. Shrimp shumai & vietnamese rolls were outstanding. Thai icedT tasted like candy. Recommend Pokok to please offer linen napkins & knives. Waited awhile 4 food but place was packed so understandable plus food so good it was worth the wait. Can't wait to eat here again. read more

Fantastic restaurant if you are looking delicious food at reasonable prices, great atmosphere, and very attentive wait staff. Went for lunch and was greeted by our waitress Bou. She checked with us very regular and our made sure our dining experience was perfect! It was obvious that every detail from the decor to the menus to the preparation of the food has been painstakingly thought out. I highly recommend the chicken wings. OMG food was delicious! My son and I love Thai food and everything we tried was outstanding. It was our first time eating there last night so we tried different dishes (green curry shrimp was amazing, loved the pad Thai noodles, lemongrass pork chop, chicken satay and Thai green chicken curry rice. I will never order from them again. Shrimp Tom Yum Noodle was $13.99 for soup and noodles, 3 shrimp and 3 mushrooms. It tasted good but that price is RIDICULOUS! To add insult to injury, it was supposed to come with a Thai Salad but they didn't include it in the bag :( read more

Three of us arrived at 8.30pm on a Saturday night, with two of us being from Singapore and having traveled frequently to much of Southeast Asia. We were amazed at the quality and authenticity of the food. We understood that there were cooks from Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore, and the food certainly reflected that. Food: - Pandan Chicken starter: wonderfully tender and moist pieces of chicken delicately scented by the fragrant pandan leaf wrap. The dipping sauce added a nice sweet tang but the dish didn't really need it. - Beef Green Curry: The spices were exactly like how you would taste curry in Thailand with a coconut based sauce that was smooth and rich. - Lemongrass Grilled Pork Chops: Two very tasty decent sized succulent chops with the typical dipping sauce (different from that for the pandan chicken). - Indonesia Fried Rice: A comfort food for those of us from that part of Southeast Asia. The seasoning of the rice, the sambal condiment atop the eggs and the satay were great. I only wish that there was more peanut sauce on the satay. - Sambal Green Bean: Green beans which were just the right level of tenderness was fried with a sambal spice mixture of chillies, onions and dried shrimp, exactly like how you would have it in Singapore and Malaysia. - Mango & Sticky Rice dessert: Even though we were full by this stage, we had to order this dessert as it is a true test of a Thai restaurant. The chef was spot on, the rice was the right consistency, texture and temperarture, and the coconut sauce was the right combination of richness and sweetness. The fact that there was no option to request level of spice was in my view a good thing as it demonstrates authenticity of the recipes. In southeast Asia, patrons do not get the option of spice level as it would be an affront to the chef. Service: Very friendly and personable. Ambiance: Lovely. Good for a gathering of friends or date night. We were still chatting after 10pm when they were supposed to close, and there a few other tables still occupied. We were not in any way made to feel rushed. I would definitely come back and try some other dishes. My one suggestion would be that there was a more reasonably priced lunch menu available. Given the large number of lunch options around, a ~$10 lunch menu would bring in the crowd and entice them to come back for dinner. Although I'm giving it 2 stars, I have no issue with the food which tasted fresh and made to order. However if you're a new neighborhood restaurant in Freehold, NJ advertising the flavors of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia you would want a waiter/waitress that can walk you thru the menu and help you select what you are about to eat for dinner. Our waitress hardly spoke any English and her vocabulary was limited to "Spicy, no spicy." We finally just picked something at random that looked safe. My "no spicy" entree actually was spicy. The food here is not cheap and it would have been a more pleasant dining experience if we had a waitress who speaks English. We're not going back. read more

I ordered takeout from this place one time, and was extremely dissatisfied. I love Thai food and this food was horrible. I ordered the roti and curry chicken, It was chicken wings drowning in curry sauce. They charged me 31 dollars for one dish and a drink, which was unexpected because there are no prices on the website. I felt like I was robbed, I took one bite and through it out because it was that bad. The staff seemed really friendly but I was extremely disappointed in the food and really unhappy that I spent 31 dollars (which is way overpriced) on food that I did not enjoy. The environment is nice and comfortable. Food is quite delicious but portion is very small. Six of us and each ordered a lunch special there. The total bill was $90 + tax and tips. If they charge $15 average for each lunch special, we'd expect to have a bigger portion, at least feeling full. read more

friday night, only 3 other tables seated and we were a party of four and waited for 35 minutes before we asked where our apps were? few more minutes go by and we finally said just wrap our food to go. well the food had never been started and would take another 15 minutes. we just left. we only saw one table who actually got there food and it may have been excellent but it was not worth a 45 minute wait. and the prices were really high for thai food 20 dollar a plate. read more
