Came here because it had good reviews and we weren't from here. The waffle sandwich was delicious. It comes with Mac n cheese, coleslaw, pickles, and a nice piece of chicken. I got the mild spicyness level, but I probably could've upped it to med. The waffle was light and fluffy. It wasn't too dense overwhelming. It may be called a sandwich but I definitely ate some of it with a fork. It was the right amount of food along with the seasoned fries. The service was amazing, they are covid conscious, and there is plenty of space to eat inside. If you're ever in the area, definitely check out this place. I got the waffle sandwich for $10, which is pretty fair in comparison to the bay area prices. It was unusual to have mac n cheese on the sandwich, though. Heard that the seasoned fries were good from other reviews, so tried those too. The fries were ok, but the seasoning was good. You order inside and then either stand there waiting for your take out or go outside to grab a table. We sat outside to eat even though the tables are too close together. There was a large crowd at one of the tables. Fortunately, that party broke up soon after our food arrived. The table serviced was great. A server came out a couple of times to check on us and refill our drinks. One thing to be aware of when you go in there is the spice levels. They told us since it was our first visit, that we should try the mild so that we aren't shocked by the heat in their spices. So the chicken was good, but "mild" is very bland. I should have trusted my instincts and kicked it up to medium. The waffle was really good because it was a little thicker than average, more like eating a sandwich with a bun. Other places go with a thin waffle that just falls apart. Not a problem here. Now that I write this review and relive the experience, I just can't wait to go back. read more

It was a group of 5 of us. And we had originally planned to eat at the Mimosa place. But there was a 45-50 minute wait and we were extremely hungry. We decided to eat here first and only half a sandwich while we waited for our name to get called next door. Comparing places it didn't look that fancy or anything. But they sure did surprise us. The sandwich was delicious.!!!! They have different heat levels. And we bought one of each lever and split it in bites between us. Since we were going to eat next door we didn't want to fill up. Once our reservation was called and received our food we were craving more of the mash and tender Lodi than the actual reservation. Decided to give this place a try as I was in the area. A Nash & fry combo with no coleslaw & special sauce on the side. I wasn't a fan of the special sauce. It's thousand island dressing with a strong pickle taste. I was hoping for more of a spice type sauce, maybe like Canes. I personally think more chicken needs to be added to this meal. There was a ton of Mac & cheese & fries leftover which was boring to eat without the chicken bites. A #3 combo (2 sliders) was also ordered. Again, not a fan of coleslaw so it was ordered without. It was two small pieces of chicken & a lot of fries with a side of Mac & cheese. The fries on this meal were not hot & tasted like they'd been sitting for awhile. I do recommend the seasoned fries as they were good. Both meals had the mild spice, which wasn't spicy at all. The flavor of both meals were good, but for the price I was hoping for a bit more chicken & not a huge portion of sides. I really love Nash and Tender but lately their food I had not been the same quality. I'm really disappointed because this is one of my favorite places. Tonight I got the Nash and tender seasoned fries with Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, pickles, and sauce- and medium chicken. I ordered extra everything and paid the upcharge. That was not the issue- this issue is the chicken was fried so hard that it was black and hurt my teeth. So I drove back to the restaurant and let them know that it was burnt and so hard that it hurt my mouth. The girl up front was really nice about it and showed the kitchen- and it seemed like they had an issue with it. They did remake it - the girl up front was super nice and offered me a drink. However when I got home the chicken was still hard and dry - not almost black but still fried way too long. Also the fries were hard as well. It is such a shame because these are my favorite fries! It is hit or miss here now. I am attaching pics - it is hard to see how dark the chicken is(because it is over fried) because of the sauce. Just disappointing. read more

I first heard of Nash & Tender when they first opened in Downtown Stockton. And they were BOMB. So glad they opened one in Lodi awhile back. I only come here to eat when I'm hungry and I mean HUNGRY. Everything here is so filling and so good you're gonna need the appetite. You're not gonna find under seasoned chicken here, so if that's your thing and your spice tolerance is low... just keep on walking. The spice here is insane! I'ma have to build my spice tolerance to try most of their flavors. Their waffles here are dense and sweet and pairs well with the chicken. I personally love the Waffle Sandwich and the Tender and Mac Sandwich (I love mac n' cheese). If you haven't tried it here, you absolutely need to. I'd consider it one of Lodi's gems 100%. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is very clean (though a little cold so if you like to be warm, bring a jacket!) I always order the chicken sandwich meal at medium heat with seasoned fries. The food is made to order and is always fresh! I have never taken it to go, but if you have the time I recommend sitting down and eating. The chicken is always cooked perfectly and you get a big slice of it. The sauce is amazing, the bread is toasted, even the coleslaw (which I DO NOT like in general) is tasty! SO glad we have this place in lodi. I usually order through Uber so the prices are a little higher but if you go in yourself they have pretty reasonable prices. They are located downtown and parking is pretty terrible; when I do pick up I have to park at least a few blocks away and walk. They have good customer service though and the restaurant is clean inside with a small interior and outdoor patio. We have tried everything on the menu at this point. My wife always gets tenders but I like the taco meal. You get 2 chicken strips, 2 tortillas some slaw, sauce and fries. I get it because its the same price as her tender meal but I get more for my money. My wife hates the cole slaw but its fine to me. Love their secret sauce. They always give it plus ranch and bbq with every order even when I put in the notes I don't need something. Honestly they probably have the best fries in Lodi . There have been a few misses like soggy fries or one time we got regular fries instead of crinkle cut which was just really weird and bad but for the most part they are consistently good and we probably grab food here 2-3 times a month at least. read more

Our only complaint, we got all of our order MEDIUM spice, and it was outrageously hot. I assumed medium would be a Buffalo level heat but these were wayyy hotter.
