We came here based on reviews and because it was very close to where we were staying for the weekend. It definitely did not disappoint. There is plenty of parking located in the lot in front of the restaurant. Love the interior and aesthetic of the restaurant. Very fresh and modern . The seats where we were seated were super comfy. On the weekends, they serve brunch from 10-2. The brunch menu had a bit of everything to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Our server was very attentive and nice even though she also had a large party at a nearby table. Our meal was delicious and filling. First time at the new place! I love what they did with the interior! Great bar with super comfy seats! Nice mix of cocktails and wine at reasonable prices. Small menu but everything we ordered we loved. Lots of truffle on this menu for truffle lovers (I am not one), but still found plenty of options! We loved the mussels (ask for 2 toast points!)! The lamb chops were delicious and the lobster pasta also great! A tad pricey for the area, but we will be back! read more

New restaurant that has taken over the old Enn Japanese spot. The place is absolutely gorgeous, they did a great job renovating the place and I appreciate a comfy barstool so kudos there!! I made reservations for bar seating (beautiful setup) but truly we didn't need them as the place was completely empty at 6pm on a weeknight, such a shame. Our bartender was very friendly and welcoming. They were taking part of Restaurant Week so we both opted for that menu. We ordered calamari, Caesar salad, butternut squash bisque and we both got the branzino. We also added the eggplant dip (gluten free but the pitas that come with it wasn't). Everything was just ok - personally I felt everything was under seasoned, just a touch of salt on some of the dishes would helped make my tastebuds dance a bit more. There was only one other table that was filled while we were there. The place is still new so I think there's def room for improvement as the place is super chic and perfect for after work drinks at the bar or a nice intimate dinner with a more upscale feel but the food needs a bit of work. It was my second time here, first time had some blunders but we always can't be on our game ( remember we are human) so I sat at the bar the 2nd time after work, it was a Tuesday so an little slow but the restaurant is not well visible from the street and if my friend didn't recommend it I would not have know it was there. Order the angus burger. I was pleasantly surprised it doesn't look fancy but one of the best burger I have had in a long time, simple burger, cheese and bun cooked perfectly. Definitely a must try. fries outstanding Crispy on the outside soft in the middle. Side of Mac and cheese, big portion and was delicious. I'll start off by saying that I've been here before, closer to when they first opened. Everything needed improvement from the service, to the time it would take to get drinks, to the food coming out of the kitchen. Fast forward to more recent.... The bartender was SUPER new at this job, and it showed. She was very friendly and courteous but definitely struggled. It took her over 5 minutes to make 1 cocktail and pour 1 draft beer. And the place dead, we were literally the only people in there. We had already eaten somewhat earlier in the day, so we just ordered a plate of calamari to hold us over to dinner later in the evening. Somebody HAS to teach that kitchen how to bread and prepare calamari. Every piece had its breading flake off as you went to pick it up, every piece.... The blistered jalapeños are a cool touch to the dish, however the tomato sauce served with it was completely flavorless. The bowl had so much breading flaked off that it looked like a bowl of rice crispy cereal at the end. As for the ambiance, this place has a unique vibe.... Tons of peacock and bird related decorations and art (kinda odd, unless you really like birds). Large size bar, and large dining area can accommodate big groups. We were the only two people in the place for the 45~ minutes that we were there for. Like I said, we've been here before and thought that the problems we had were going to work themselves out as most restaurants do in their opening weeks... but this place just hasn't caught on yet. I want to start this review off with everyone is entitled to a bad night and I have been to many restaurants with bad reviews and had a lovely time. But judging by the most recent reviews (1-2 weeks) and another table at the time we dined this restaurant clearly needs improvement and fast. To start - the good - the restaurant is tasteful super cute and the bathrooms were really cool. The bartender/waiter was excellent super friendly and understood why we were upset with our experience and was nothing but apologetic. The bad - which was a lot. Firstly, it took forever to get any food and drinks something that is forgirveful when busy and the food is amazing. However, it was dead (we were the only table for at least the first hour got there for 4 and our dining experience didn't end until after 6) and the food was not good. The calamari had almost no breading on it and were essentially just rubber rings, although did have potential since the taste was good. My nephew (who's birthday it was and was so excited to try this restaurant) said the mussels were good but very small and got almost nothing for the price. The drinks might I add were outrageously expensive but again understood for classy dining and a good experience. For dinner - we had an assortment of plates. Scallops were the only dish that were not over cooked and ironically the first dishes that came out. Everyone got plates at different times, by the time the last dish came out, they were taking the plates of the person who got the scallops which in my opinion is just not right. If you're going to enjoy a family dinner at a fancy restaurant, you should all be enjoying it together. The chicken, steak (NY strip $38 and filet $45), burger, and salmon were all well well done. The burger almost burnt. Sent back the steaks, brought back purple and raw. Sent back again. Got them back and they were ok but at that point what do you do? Asked for a manager, she was either thinking we were crazy or she had heard the spiel so many times she just didn't care to respond because all we got from her was a "thank you for your feedback" and the bartender coming back telling us they removed the steaks from the bill. So all and all, $500 bill even with the steaks being taken off and we left feeling very lousy about spending that kind of money. With this restaurant being outside the city and having very high prices this food and experience should have been top notch. My family and I do not complain often and we are all for spending money on good service, good food, and a good time. Many of us are in the restaurant business ourselves and know how tough it can be. But this was just bad. I really hope they can turn things around because it seems as though prior to the last few months they were killing it. read more

Our reservations were for 5:30pm, we arrived on time and were seated promptly. We did not receive our drinks until 6pm. The drinks were mediocre, and overpriced. $15 for an old fashioned with Makers Mark Bourbon, and the glass was not even 3/4 full. Appetizers were mediocre, same for the entrees. Two of the people in our party ordered a seafood dish which boasted "10 ounces" of seafood in the menu, and I'm hear to tell you that both of those dishes did not contain anything close to 10 ounces of seafood! Total bill was $560 for 8 people not including tip. Left a 13% tip, as our sever forgot our drink orders on multiple occasions, and we had to repeat / resubmit our orders. One of the people in our part actually went to the bar to get a drink. I don't really understand what the problem was. The place was at maybe 50% capacity and they were struggling to keep up. Needless to say we will not be repeat customers, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The apps are awesome and they have cheap oysters on mondays... not much else needs to be said. The service treats you more or less like family. There theme is peacocks... can't beat that. The bartender knows what she's doing, with more than a few specialty drinks. I had an old fashioned with a strip of bacon in it, you might think that's gross but you'd be wrong. Went for a wine lunch with 50 members. I've been in the wine club for 16 years. This was by far the worst food I've had in 16 years. The food came out at different times, the chicken taste liked it was fried the night before and dropped in the oil for a minute. Came out Luke warm. The coffee could wake the dead. Very disappointing !! We waited 2 hours and there was never given an explanation regarding why. When I asked I was given a dismissive answer! Seeing that we had waited already such a long time we had high hopes that at least our food items would have been delicious, but once again we were very disappointed. Most of our food was cold. I had requested avocado toast, but my order was cold and it wasn't avocado toast at all we also ordered omelets. The cheese was still cold inside and numerous other issues with all of our dishes, as it was just thrown together! I do not like to complain or be difficult, but this was unacceptable on so many levels our server, however, was very kind he kept apologizing. I have enjoyed Nathaniel's in the past and I was very pleased. I am not sure why the quality of food has gone down so dramatically we truly wasted our money and our time very disappointing. The place is really lovely - decor is tasteful and fresh. The waitress was very nice. I was really excited to try the food. Empanadas were fine, the guava one stole the show, but mostly because it was different and interesting. The crust was just fine, nothing special. My lobster risotto wasn't warm enough to eat. Mom did eat her shrimp risotto because she was too hungry to wait for anything else. Matt's short rib was very good - tender and tasty. His polenta at the end of the meal was warmer than my risotto had been when it was first set in front of me. I mentioned it to the waitress who took my meal - I had eaten about a quarter of it - and told me she'd take it off the bill. The cheesecake was very good, and the tiramisu one of the best I've had in the USA. The cappuccino and hot chocolate were lukewarm at best. The bill came and they gave me half off my meal, not the whole thing. I would not go back. Very disappointed because the tiramisu was so good - but you can't have tiramisu with lukewarm cappuccino. read more

This was the worst meal I have ever had. First of all the place was empty and our food took forever. We both ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The dressing was awful. It was basically mayonnaise. The chicken wasn't your typical sliced grilled chicken laid over the salad. It was a chicken breast on the bone and served hot. It was tasteless. There were no croutons. They threw a small piece of crostini on it. Oh, and the bread that they put on the table beforehand was stale. I would never return even if they were giving the food away. Terrible service. Had reservations for 12pm for my sisters bday. We were given menus for dinner and then after waiting 20 minutes our waiter told us they're only doing brunch. Looks like there's only 4 tables here and half of them don't even have there food and it's breakfast food can't get easier than that. What a memorable first meal at Nathaniel's Bistro! It certainly will not be our last. The food was crazy scrumptious and well presented. The service was awesome -- attentive, friendly, and responsive. We also loved the comfortable bar seating. Next time we might try one of the private 2-tops with privacy and soft furniture. Order the lychee martini and ceviche to get started. The branzino was the best I've ever eaten: the chef's team hand-removes all the bones with a tweezer. Nice new place. Great decor. 4 of us came for a late lunch / early dinner. I had the romaine salad and we shared the grilled calamari and crudo. I had the NY strip medium rare for my entree. Salad was excellent though I expected some actual romaine hearts not just shaved romaine. The calamari was good though it was just plain grilled. The steak was disappointing. Not enough seasoning. Brussel sprouts were plain and undercooked. And the special sauce that was promised was only delivered in a small cup to my friend who also ordered the same thing. I never received mine. Most expensive item on the menu, but it was the most disappointing. The server was very good, but the bus was very aggressive in trying to remove food as we were finishing. Dessert was very limited. Checked this place out with a group of friends a few weeks ago. The interior looks great and is so much better than the previous restaurant that was there (Enn Sushi). They have a good cocktail menu and everyone loved the drinks they go. I go the Peacock Feathers cocktail and highly recommend it. There menu is on the smaller side (not a complaint), but everyone loved their meals. I got the U-10 scallops with risotto and it was perfect! I tried a bite of the short ribs too and they were really good too. Our sever was great as well. She was super friendly, attentive, and gave good recommendations on food and drinks. Came here for a nice birthday meal. The ambiance and decor is lovely. The woman plying live music was phenomenal. The place looks great. Charcuterie board was good, lobster risotto was good, lamp chop was delicious, salmon was a little dr, scallops were a little small. The chocolate cake piece is as large as a handbag (no joke!) but fluffy and yummy. Prices are high but the quality is good and you get what you pay for. Service was average-to-good. Great restaurant. We've eaten here twice and both times the food was excellent. The whole boneless Brazino was delicious as was the polenta and asparagus. Exactly what Northern RI needs, Outstanding food and hospitality from start to finish. Upon entry we were greeted by the manager Gina and the hostess with a warm and friendly genuine smile. Great start on a cold evening. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and the server was able to quickly answer all questions without hesitation. Started with grilled octopus which was done perfectly with outstanding presentation. Octopus is one of the hardest dishes to execute and this was spot on. King salmon was on the menu, and I was impressed as this is the best type of wild salmon available in the United States, the portion was large enough for two people and also done perfectly. Braised short rib was another home run as it didn't even need a knife. The addition of whole sweet corn kernels to the polenta made for great texture and a balanced flavor. The grilled octopus' appetizer (also big enough for an entree) was cleared quickly after finishing and our entrees arrived withing 5 minutes. Gina stopped by and checked on our meal. The crown jewel was several staff members thanking us on our way out. If you're in Northern RI save the hassle of going to PVD, and if you're from Pvd it's well worth the 15-minute drive to have outstanding food and hospitality. Bravo read more

It's a beautiful place, servers were friendly... but they are definitely still trying to iron out the links. We waited 20 min for our drinks. Then waited a half hour for bread:/and our salad- which was tasty by the way. I had the swordfish which was very good but my date barely touched his braised short ribs. It was a little "meaty", and came with polenta- meh. The bill was $120- they charged for bread.... I don't know, it's nice to have a new place in the area, I might go back and try something else at some point. Went here on a Tuesday night and the place was empty. Very cool vibe on the Decor but that's where it fell off. We had a table of 3, we ordered drinks which took so long our appetizer came out before the drinks came out. We ordered 2 appetizers, but we only got one. The 3 meals came out one hour after our seating. At this point there was one other table and 2 people at the bar. I ordered skirt steak which was so tough you could barely chew it. The other 2 meals Salmon and chicken were good but very small portions and not cheap. This is a new place and maybe the staff was new but there was no manager around that any of us could see. read more
