About Navis Bakery: Founded in 2018 with the goal of bringing the rich and diverse flavors of traditional and modern pastries to the community. Growing up, enjoying pan dulce in the afternoon with the whole family was a cherished tradition, bringing nostalgic memories and a great taste for traditional Mexican bread. In this ever-changing world, we want to keep our deep-rooted traditions alive in the present, using the same recipes combined with innovation. Navis Bakery Mission Statement: At NaVis Bakery, our mission is to create delightful and memorable experiences for our customers through our baked goods. We strive to maintain the highest standards of quality and service, ensuring that every visit to our bakery is a delicious occasion. Background On Visit: Usually drove past this shop when going back home from Costco (Monterey Park) location. Yesterday, I finally decided to take look inside and patronize the shop. Credit Cards: There's a $0.50 surcharge to use credit card. Restrooms: There's no restrooms Location/Parking: Cross streets are Klingerman and San Gabriel Blvd.. There's a couple of 20 minute parking stalls up front in the shared parking lot, but would recommend to park along San Gabriel Blvd.. Ambiance/Decor: Your typical mexican bakery feel with a variety of pastries, tamales, and menudo to choose from. It's 100% take it and leave type of place since there is no tables and chairs to sit and eat on. Service: Jenny (staffer) was very nice. She was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions of what to get. Dessert Of Choice: I decided to get the carrot cake. Actually liked it and was moist. Navis Bakery For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back to try more pastries and have some tamales.

Lovely little bakery in Rosemead! I haven't had much pan dulce so I'm not the best judge but the place smells AMAZINGGG when you walk in! Guava cheese was better than pineapple cheese for me but that's just a personal preference. They also have non-cream cheese versions of all their fruit pastries. The conchas were a HUGE hit with everyone. They have mini size and big sizes (these are the minis). I personally can't vouch for them because I don't like them texturally but hey if you do, give this place a try! The danish and jelly roll were for the kids and they ate them with no complaints! NOTE--There is a service charge for credit cards and the lot is tiny. It was empty when I went but if the 4-5 (?) slots are full then you'd have to find street parking.

I heard a lot about this bakery! Was excited to try - food was good but the experience was pretty meh. I called multiple times a week before an event to ask about ordering some cheesecakes but no one answered. I ended up stopping by the shop the day before the event to ask about putting in an order, but the employee let me know that they needed 24 hours notice for the cheesecake. No problem, I ended up ordering and paying for 2 x flan, 2 x cheesecake flan for another event the following week. I also bought a slice of blueberry cheesecake and it was so delicious! Very creamy and not overwhelmingly sweet. When I showed up to pick up my flan the following week, I'm not sure what happened but the employee didn't look like they could find my order. I ended up waiting over 40 minutes, causing me to be late for work. Another note - I was amazed by all the different pastry selections. But nothing was labeled with what it was or with prices. I saw another comment from 8 months ago mention the same thing. Bummer that there has been no changes made despite the comment being acknowledged! Not displaying prices seems like a very poor business practice.

Love the tamales here , they are so tasty and have a good amount of meat in them. I think the price is good for them priced at 35$ a dozen. They also have baked goods and pastries that are always fresh and taste great. My daughter loves the conchas here. They also have fresh bollios ! The service is good , everyone is friendly & hard working.

Can't recommend their large fruit tart enough!! It was a family favorite and it's lined with a layer of chocolate so the crust doesn't get soggy (which is a genius idea)! I also really like their cheese rolls because they're perfectly sweet and have a nice flaky exterior. Their tamales are also a family favorite!! We purchased a few dozen tamales over the holidays and they were definitely enjoyed! This local bakery can form a line inside at times, but the line keeps moving so the wait isn't too long. There aren't any tables inside, so it's more of a grab and go bakery!

I was searching for posts about where to get tamales and saw a lot of recommendations for Navis Bakery, so I went there thinking I'd place an order to pick up before Christmas. When I arrived, the staff told me they already had tamales available and that pre-ordering wasn't necessary. I ended up getting a dozen pork and a dozen chicken tamales and let me tell you both were so delicious. The ratio of filling to corn dough is perfect. The pork has a little kick to it, which I loved. It was my first time at the bakery, and the staff were friendly and sweet. I didn't feel intimidated at all. If you're looking for delicious tamales, definitely give them a try.

One of my coworkers brought in some Conchas. It was my first time trying Conchas and they were quite good. I really need to come in to Navis and try some other items. I'm looking forward to coming here to try some of their tamales as I'm told they're pretty good here.

I have gone here before it was on tick tock and the prices were reasonable- today I got the same items for 72.50! These prices are Crazy!!! It's like getting a perfect cut of prime steak!!! The girl at the counter was helpful and seemed friendly, so allowed me time to decide on the items and even went back for 6 more tamales. The prices are not posted so it came as a surprise that this amount added up to the $72.50 I paid. The place is located in a shopping mall located off of San Gabriel Blvd and Baruch St. toward the end but the sign is large enough to see from the street. The pan dulce is good but I've had better, I have to admit that the tamales are good, just would have liked to know the price ahead of time!

Flaky pastry but not enough filling. Almost nothing. Every single one of them.

Got a notification from yelp. What do you think of NaVis bakery?. . Honestly? Over rated. It's like any other bakery. I wasn't WOWed. For those that like to compare to Porto? Definitely absolutely not. Yeah, the sweet pastry is on a bigger size by not much. The filling? Definitely lacking for the size of the pastry. Basically nothing inside. I got the guava, pineapple, pineapple with cheese, cheese rolls. And another kind. For 7 pieces under for $9 something. Will I be back? Maybe, if I feel like wanting some guava pastry. But for driving all the way to the SGV, got to tell you, many other places with a good pastry. Staff are super friendly tho.

While Thanksgiving shopping, I stopped to chat with a clerk who raved about a Mexican bakery on San Gabriel Boulevard. She could not recall the name but said the Mexican bread and the tamales were amazing. Fast forward to what I swear was Big Brother listening and pulling up this bakery for me on Yelp. Is it the same bakery that woman spoke of? We'll never know but if you're familiar with the area, the probability it very high based on the fact there's not many non-Asian establishments in this area. Let's start with parking....you see the lot pictured. It can become a shitshow so just park on the side street. This place accepts credit cards but will charge you $0.50 to use them. So, bring cash if you have it. Now let's get to the yumminess with Mexican bread first up. Mexican bread is usually on the dry side. This bakery, however, has elevated Mexican bread. It is so airy and fluffy. Total game changer for my tastebuds. As you can see, I tried an assortment. The jelly roll was the best I have ever had - it was so moist! A customer recommended the two Porto's knocks off you see pictured - they were ok but Porto's still reigns. But back to the Mexican bread - you will not be disappointed and should also sample an assortment. All of the ones I ordered were fluffy and airy, nothing at all like the usual dry texture you find at other panederias. I actually went to this bakery first and foremost for my yearly tamale hunt. The pork was quite spicy for me but I liked it. The chicken and chili/cheese were on the milder side. The tamales have that homemade feel and taste to them and they did not disappoint. I did think they're on the smaller side for $3.25 when Mascota sells theirs, which are bigger, for $2.84. I also didn't detect a special element to their masa (I love masa). While not out of this world, they definitely hit the homemade spot and are worth trying. I would definitely keep this place in rotation for a tamale craving. All in all, this place is definitely one to keep bookmarked and one which I will be returning to for both Mexican bread and tamales.

My original order was for a dozen ($35). Only 11 was ready for pick up and ended up charging me individual price. More for one LESS tamale.

These people are crooks. I've been a patron a few times and had no complaints until today. I called in the morning at 10:00am to place my order for a dozen tamales. I asked if I can pick them up in an hour or so, the girl on the phone told me surely, my order would be ready at 11:00am and she said "see you then." I come to the shop at 11am to pick up my order. They tell me they only have 11 tamales and not 12 and charged me the individual price per tamales for 11 tamales (instead of $35 for 12). I ended up paying an extra $3 for one LESS tamale. Make that make sense? I originally ordered 12. They didn't even say, give us more time to make you one more as part of your original order. No. They said, this is all we have. Over the phone the girl said my order for a dozen would be ready. Ridiculous. Never again. This place has no sense of customer service and every one of their employees seem miserable to be working there. I was once a loyal customer but I won't be stepping foot into this establishment again.

I still come back to NaVis Bakery whenever I crave pastries. Honestly, I think that NaVis makes them better than Portos. NaVis fills their pastries with enough filling and they offer a variety of filling. My favorite ones are mango, pineapple, guava, and cheese. I always come here and buy a bunch to freeze at home and they reheat so nicely in the toaster oven. Service is friendly and there is never a long line where you wait forever like at Portos.

And there's a city public parking lot about a two minute walk away. Staff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Staff maintained a bright smile throughout my visit. Staff immediately helped me. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or counter; however, the kiosk felt very dated & the prices on the kiosk felt less transparent. I recommend just ordering at the counter. There's no penalty for using card at this donut establishment. As mentioned, I love the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95). It's not too sweet; rather, it all felt balanced. However, this is a VERY messy donut; I recommend eating this donut with a fork and knife. The powder fall everywhere, and your clothes can quickly get stained with chocolate powder. Still, it's a delicious pastry. On ambiance, Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) is comfortable. This business is more reminiscent of a cafe than a typical donut shop. There's customer internet with password; details on the counter. There's a gender neutral restroom.
