    New ice cream options

Really friendly service, no line on a weekday afternoon. They have new ice cream filled salt breads with a buy 2 get 1 free offer. I loved the strawberry butter salt bread

Just happened to be driving by this place and never seen it before. Had really good reviews and was listed as a newer places in the area. I was one of the first customers in the morning and it already was getting busy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I tried the pork bun and the Banh Mi bun. Both were great and we definitely recommend. I ended up just getting a black coffee with a little sweetener which was just the way I like it. Definitely want to come back and try other things on your menu.

Overall: 3.6/5 [take out] We put in a large order for multiple families and picked everything up so we did not get to eat the salt breads fresh or drink our drinks right away. The packaging was good with nice handwriting on each box. The bag had a cute bread handle as well! Rose Matcha ($7.75) + Oat Milk ($1) + White Boba ($1): Made with lychee and strawberry. My husband got it with regular ice and sweetness and it was really good but felt a bit pricey for the size. I also could not really taste the white boba. I ordered the tofu matcha with black boba but it looks like they gave me the wrong drink. There was no tofu and they gave me grass jelly instead of boba. We emailed them and they were kind enough to refund us for that drink. Banh Mi Salt Bread ($7): The best of the four we tried. I loved the flavors and it paired really well with the salt bread. Pork Floss Salt Bread ($7): Good but nothing special. They were generous with the pork floss though. Pistachio Raspberry Salt Bread ($6): Came with pistachio cream and raspberry syrup in a pipette. The pistachio flavor was so subtle it was almost undetectable. Matcha Salt Bread ($6): Came with just the matcha cream and had the same issue as the pistachio. I preferred the more savory salt bread versions over the sweet ones.

The interior decor here is light and airy--honestly, it matches the vibe of the food perfectly. The bread itself is so light and fluffy that I could easily eat three of them all by myself. Ordering is super straightforward since you can self-order right off the iPad and just pick up your order at the counter. I took my older aunt along with me to try it out, and she felt like it was a bit too "fancy" for bread. It was a fun spot to check out and a nice experience overall, but it's probably not somewhere I would go totally out of my way to visit again.

Decent salt bread spot but I have had better. The filling is good but the bread is lacking the crisp/crunch for the outside part.

Interior is very simple yet aestically clean. Love the self ordering kiosk, wished they had two. Drinks did take a bit long due to the grand opening weekend. Coconut coffee: 4/5, it's straight black coffee with coconut water (not coconut milk), so it was very different yet refreshing Plain salt bread: 2/5, even fresh, it does not have that buttery crunch that I've been seeking since visiting busan.

The salt breads are so good! I didn't have any drinks so this is just a review of the salt bread. It was easy to find street parking in the area. The shop is very cute. The decor is clean and modern. There are a couple of tables and a long bench area for seating. You order via a kiosk and the order came out fast. The salt bread isn't too heavy and I love that. Other salt breads I've had are so rich and buttery that I can't eat one without feeling so full and just oily. But their salt bread is the right amount of crunch on the outside and soft on the inside like a croissant. It isn't too salty. We got the Original, Banh Mi, and Corn. The Corn had a filling that was more on the sweet side than savory. The Banh Mi was actually the perfect balance of bread and filling. I'll definitely be back!

Great salt bread, but pass on the ham and cheese one as it is the most disappointing one. Service is fast and friendly. Pro tip is to order ahead as it doesn't have a dedicated parking lot.

6/20/2026 This place was such a fun and tasty stop! We ordered the matcha, passion fruit, sweet corn with creamy sauce, and the garlic butter & cream cheese--honestly, we wanted to try the whole menu because everything looked amazing. Every flavor we tried was delicious, and the bread was incredibly soft. Not all of them had filling inside, but there was plenty on top, which made each bite perfectly balanced. There's a lot of seating here and it definitely has more of a relaxed hang‑out vibe. Overall, such a great place to snack and chill!

With all the current rave about salt bread, I was so excited to finally try this spot, but honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 2:00 PM, right before their closing time, and placed our order at the kiosk immediately. There was a sign warning customers to expect a 20 to 40-minute wait, so we decided to head over to Ike's nearby to grab a bite while we waited. Even after 40 minutes had passed, we came back only to find that the people who ordered before us were still waiting for their food. I noticed that even right up against closing time, they kept allowing new customers to place orders, which just seemed to compound the backup for everyone already waiting. When we finally received our order, the food itself didn't quite make up for the delay. The corn salt bread was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor. I wanted to try the pistachio raspberry one, but it was unfortunately already sold out, though it definitely looked like the most promising option of the bunch. Overall, between the long wait times and the underwhelming bread, it didn't live up to the massive hype for me. I might give it another shot down the road, but only after the initial craze dies down.

I kept seeing this place on social media and I had to try it since i've never had salt bread before. There's plenty of street parking in front and we went around 9 am on a Saturday morning. I like that there is a lot of seating inside and it's quite spacious. I didn't know what to order and got a few recommendations from the cashier. For drinks, I got the matcha cloud and the milky matcha. For the bread there were so many great options to choose from. I ended up ordering the garlic salt bread and the corn cheese salt bread. For the drinks it was alright nothing special. I didn't really enjoy the matcha as much. It could be stronger. I didn't know what to expect but it just tasted like regular bread to me. I did enjoy the garlic salt bread more than the corn cheese. The corn cheese salt bread was a bit too sweet for my liking. I don't think this is something I would crave or go out of my way for.

I've been missing South Korea and the infamous shio pan (salt bread). The F1rst Take was trending all over social media and had to see what it was about. This review is only for the salt bread. Food I placed a takeout order through the F1rst Take website and scheduled the pickup time. Upon my arrival, my order was ready in the designated pickup area. Banh Mi - $7.00 Cheese Garlic - $7.00 Corn - $6.00 Matcha - $6.00 Original (No Filling) - $4.50 Pork Floss - $7.00 I was excited to try the assortment of salt breads but ultimately left disappointed. The bread lacked the signature crispy, crackling bottom and flaky, buttery layers that make Korean-style shio pan so addictive. The texture was more reminiscent of a Vietnamese baguette bread, with only a light amount of filling in the cream, pork floss, cheese garlic, and corn. Customer Service I was warmly greeted by who appeared to be the owner, who guided me to the pickup area. He also advised me to keep the order upright to prevent the bread from getting crushed. Ambiance The space is bright, clean, and modern, with plenty of tables for customers to hang out. Location/Parking Parking was limited around the storefront during my scheduled pickup time. Most of the street parking along E. Santa Clara Street is metered and not complimentary during business hours. I ended up finding parking around the corner on S. Third Street. Although the service and atmosphere were pleasant, the salt bread itself didn't have the texture and flavor I was hoping for based on my experiences in South Korea.

    Pistachio raspberry and banh mi

I liked the F1rst Take, it's nice to go to a salt bread place that doesn't run out and is prepped to handle a large volume of people! My friend and I both got the pistachio raspberry as our sweet pick, and the banh mi as our savory pick. I got the garlic cheese and original salt bread for my boyfriend to take home. Ultimately, the banh mi salt bread is a bit of a letdown if you're going to compare it to actual banh mi. As a salt bread, it's pretty loaded with the good stuff like Vietnamese ham and the veggies. I preferred the pistachio raspberry- the cream filling was delicious and the raspberry jam added a bit of tartness! I'm always a sucker for unique flavor pairings. I tried a bit of the original salt bread, and it was a little disappointing. It didn't have the crispy bottom from the butter melting into the bread that salt bread is known for, and it was breadier and drier than I would've expected. Parking on a weekday wasn't too terrible, but be ready to wait for your order! I hope that they open another location closer to the city and call it the s2cond take...

Occasionally burnt espresso but I love them too much to mind. I am a matcha snob to say the LEAST. Hands down best coffee shop matcha in the Bay Area. The classic iced matcha latte with honey is grassy and earthy and creamy and a little sweet. The iced banana pudding matcha latte had people lined up around the corner for months when it came out. It is deliciously worth the wait. Best banana cold foam in my opinion because it's made with actual bananas instead of flavoring so it's much more mellow. The double matcha they had for awhile is also awesome. Banana cold foam also goes great on an espresso latte. Now they let you add whichever cold foam you like to whatever drink which is great. Basically you can't go wrong. They are always changing up the menu for the new season and have lots of unique drinks on their menu. Not much seating inside at this location. The winchester Blvd one has more if that's what you're looking for. Their pastries are also all yummy and they sell their matcha powder for $60 for 100g which is a GREAT price for a great matcha. I would've gate kept this place but everyone already knows about it so I HAVE to show them the love they deserve!!

The egg sandwich, on the other hand, was delightful although it was on the pricier side. The coffee shop was packed with folks working so we didn't find any seating indoors.
