Been here several times. Have always had good food and service. The other night day though. Not so much. I don't complain much but the waitress was indifferent and not friendly at all. Eggs were meh. Bacon and toast were perfect. However the clincher for me was I was in the restroom stall when I noticed someone in the bathroom with me using the urinal. After they were done I heard a door to my left open and close. When I came out of the stall there was a combination locked door that I can only assume is for the cooks. Now the clincher... they didn't wash their hands. I was thoroughly disgusted and left. Doubt I'll be back. Food has been good. Didn't really want to write this poor review as we frequent Nazareth diner often but sometimes, you gotta do it cause it was just so wrong. We had a party of 3 toddlers and 5 adults. Was sat, gave our order after 10 mins from being sat, had soup and salad bar as usual and waiting for out dinner to come out. What stuck us all as being odd was the food wasn't out while we were still eating soup and salad bar. Anyone who eats here knows your dinner is out before you are done with soup and salad. They were not busy so it was surprising it wasn't out. Fast forward to being there 1 hour and 15 mins later, are food is just making it out of the kitchen in togo containers at our request. We couldn't wait any longer as we has someplace to be at a specific time. I asked to be comped something off the check for blowing our family Christmas eve dinner and the manager Jessica refused to do so. Really? LOL! She blamed the wait for the steal kabobs as why it took so long. This answer by her was like my dog ate my home work to us as my family has been in the food and hospitality business for over 30 years. What would it have been to comp 25% off the check but no, you were greedy instead of protecting your bosses great asset, the customer. Poor choice Jessica. You were rude like you could care less about what happened and are no front of house face to take care of matters like this. If you have forgotten or worse yet, never knew, you make your customer happy and never let them leave pissed off especially knowingly, the Narareth diner staff screwed up.I just don't do that. Was there recently, was a regular patron up until they fixed up diner, and revamped the menu. We, my family tried it after it reopened and was disappointed with the many deletions of foods we enjoyed. We stopped going, found another diner with excellent food. Came here for lunch today. Ordered grilled cheese and fried for my daughter. I got the Greek salad. VERY good! And hugeeee portion! Loved the pita triangles it came with too. I ended up taking half home as it was huge. The menu had decent selections including lunch and dinner specials and I rarely see this at diners but they had a full salad buffet bar that could add on or came with a meal. We go here every time my wife and I come home to see her family! Now this is a diner with a huge menu, breakfast all day long, and tons of yummy options. It was also our grandson's birthday and they made him is awesome pancakes put a candle in it and came out singing for him. He loved his pancakes and was happy to be the center of attention. I got the chip beef gravy and toast which I cannot get down where we live. The gravy was so perfect, tons of beef, a great portion, and great flavor. Came in with my wife and another couple for breakfast. The other couple got food and finished. We were never served our food, although we were told several times that it would be out in "5 more minutes" My friends food had a hair in it. Plus they never got the toast and bacon they ordered. I was here six years ago and had a similar experience. I never came back until today, but my friends said they changed and were better now. I did not see any difference in the quality of service. They messed up a to go order and blamed the door dasher! The outside of bag had correct ticket but inside there was a different order name and contents of someone else's order. They said the door dasher just picked up 2 orders and must have mixed them up. Sorry but the door dasher didn't bag the order. It's not the door dashers job to check orders and bags and tickets for accuracy. That's on you. They took no responsibility for the mistake and just said you have to take it up with door dash. Another diner w/ good (not great) diner fare & lots-o-selections to choose from. I'm a fan of their all-u-can eat soup & salad bar. The soup is self-serve & there is usually two selections. They do offer Romaine lettuce as well as Iceberg lettuce, so that's a plus. They offer fresh broccoli, cauliflower, carrot sticks, green onions/scallions, onions, bean salad, kidney beans, garbanzo beans/chickpeas, pasta salad, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. Again, it's not a super-deluxe salad bar, but it has all the fixin's for a good salad. Their fries have that crunchy coating on them, which I don't like. Last I checked they were open 24 hours, so that's a plus. Their prices could be a bit cheaper, but their portions are decent. It's a real hit or miss here. I had ordered a steak and it was under cooked. Then they overcooked it and killed it. By then I wasn't into waiting for a replacement plus I didn't want the cook to do anything bad to the steak. Management didn't even offer to take it off the bill even after they knew why I did not want them to make a new one. That's too bad because there are plenty of other diners close by I can go to. Portions were good. Besides the steak disaster, the sides were good. There is a salad bar but not open 24hrs. Not sure when they shut it down. This diner was once one of the best. Every one is tightening their belts however this diner has both shrank the portions dramatically and raised the prices. Long standing diner with owners, John and his son; renovated about 10 years ago and prices were increased; always great salad bar with over 40 items and daily specials. Just don't go there much as we have other faves to visit and felt disappointed on one visit while my mom was undergoing chemotherapy and instaed of french fries, she asked for soup and the boss said NO! My wife and I just had dinner at the Nazareth Dinner, it was Labor Day. We both had their turkey platter, salad bar with mashed potatoes. Both of us were pleasantly surprised at how well everything tasted. For starters they have one of the best salad bars in the area. Our turkey platters were moist and delicious. The mashed potatoes were the real deal, not out of a box. The only down side were the rolls. They seamed a tad stale and not tasty. I love fresh bread and would have given them 5 stars otherwise. The server was friendly and accommodating despite the resturant being short of staff. She was taking care of a lot of tables. We live about 10 miles from the dinner but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Both dinners with drinks ran under $31, a great value in our minds. The Resturant was recently remodeled. The Nazareth Diner offers some bright spots in the otherwise dim diner culture of the Lehigh Valley. First, you can order more or less anything from the menu at any time of the day. For me, this is something that I like since there are times when I do not exactly want to be eating breakfast food. Second, the Nazareth Diner has one of the more impressive soup and salad bars in the Lehigh Valley. The selections on the bar are plentiful with some really neat homemade salads, fresh vegetable options, and from time to time a tasty soup. Lastly, the Nazareth Diner has Coke products which is something that I think is a bit of a rarity in the Diner world. Personally, I do enjoy Coke products over Pepsi and it is something that I seek out. Overall, the Nazareth Diner is a clean and updated place to enjoy traditional diner food. By no stretch of the imagination is this anything more than a diner but I do not think that it is trying to be. During my experiences here I have had quality food, good service, and routinely left satisfied. This is not the best restaurant in the Lehigh Valley, but is is one of the only true Diners. read more

This is a hit or miss diner. We have gone quite a few times over the past year. The food and the portions are, for the most part, fairly good. The service, on the other hand, really varies. On our last visit, it took quite a while to get waited on. After placing our beverage order, it took fifteen minutes to have it served at which time we placed our dining order. When it came out both of us were missing parts of our order. Eggs came out without toast and breakfast meat was burned. Our other order came out minus the sides. Our waitress appeared to be new, so we were not about to place the blame on her. That's the kitchens job. While paying for our order, my husband told the hostess our dining experience was not up to par. Her response was, oh I'm sorry. She did not inquire as to what displeased us. Occasionally, when it's busy, you might get a waitress who doesn't know what she's doing, but usually, the service is excellent. The breakfast is pretty good, standard fare eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast etc. Lunch and dinner are good likewise, they have a delicious soup and salad bar, and I've gotten Burgers and Wraps and they've been good. I initially patiently waited. Came back to inquire about the status of the order only to be presented with catty unprofessional behavior from front end staff who implied that I should just accept this mediocre treatment. Yet no apologies were given when explained to this staff. When reported to a manager, apologies seemed empathetic and sincere, yet the front end staff remained unexplainably verbally fiesty towards this customer.
