First time to get a shellac pedicure and manicure at this nail salon. I will not return I had the deluxe pedi the man did a crapy job use a electric tool on my toes. Did not remove the dead skin around toes or hands. Left the mud scrub on my food and leg. For a $55 pedi my feet should be soft and glowing. It's not worth $90 for a pedi/manicure. I went here yesterday and asked for Eric they said he was no longer working here was a little disappointed because he was good. I told the person at front desk I needed to make an appointment for 3 people to get pedicures. I needed early appointment because I had other appointments leaving for vacation the next day. He states yes 9:30 and I said that would be great. Was he sure we needed to be done by 10:30. I went today arrived for 9:30 he seated my husband, granddaughter and I at a chair ready for pedicure. I looked around and saw an employee doing nails and another doing a pedicure. Then someone walked over to us. I asked because it was now 9:45 I asked her was she going to do all three because that was unacceptable we needed to leave by 10:30 and it was now 9:50. I guess the gentleman at the front desk was the owner because he came over.I explain to him that when I made the appointment the day before With him I told him I needed to be out by 10:30 and this was not going to happen now. He went into all the employees are on the way some of them live in San Antonio and the nail salon is not like an office just because he said 930 didn't mean we were going to be taken care of by 930. I told him when I made the appointment I explained to him that we had other appointments and he agreed. Then He kept saying to me if I wasn't happy I could leave and told me that several times .He told me all nail salons have this practice where they make appointments but they don't stick to them because they are not a 9-to-5 office and things happen I told him that was incorrect because whenever I made a nail appointment somewhere else they were on time he became rude. I called another salon and went there actually it was bijou nail salon which I was treated much better when I called them And they took me right in. Offered me a beverage as soon as we walked in and started on my feet. NB quarry Was very unprofessional very rude and I will never go back there again. My first visit to them was very good I don't know what happened this time and makes me wonder why Eric left maybe it was the rude owner. I'm actually really disappointed to be writing this but I believe that it Is necessary. I have used this nail salon for about 3 years now but will not be returning. So I got a gel manicure with a chrome polish on top less than 2 weeks ago. It started peeling (the gel) about 5 days in but I've been busy and it wasn't terrible so I didn't call or go in. Eventually every nail started peeling so I called yesterday to ask what the warranty was and to let them know what was happening. The front manager was nice but said "no 2 weeks is too long" and basically that they couldn't fix it. I told him that the gel was peeling and I that I had paid ($50) LESS than 2 weeks ago for gel which was talked up to me for being durable. The guy asked me to be at the salon in 20 mins so I agreed. When I got there he asked me who did it and MADE me point out who did my nails last time. Mind you there were 5 other clients in the salon. I was so uncomfortable basically saying "hi I'm here to get my nails fixed, this is the person who did them last time." The poor tech must of been so caught off guard bc the manager, the tech and another tech start a AUGURING right in front of me. I did not understand what they were saying but my tech obviously did not want to fix them. The manager tells me "the tech will fix them but not all of them" which is pointless to me since all of them were peeling but whatever. The three start auguring again and the manager says to me "okay next time you need to get fake nails if you want the chrome polish again" I said "why didn't y'all tell me that before I spent $50 on a manicure that wouldn't last?" And he just restated what he said and walked away. The problem wasn't the chrome but the gel was peeling. I do not know why they weren't getting that. The tech was obviously embarrassed so I told her that I would just like to have the gel taken off. She was nice and got me squared away. She did offer a new color but I did not want to pay for anything else and was uncomfortable so I declined. So I go to leave, take a picture of the sign, and a few seconds later the manager and I guess the lead tech(Lily) come to my car. They apologized and blah blah blah. I told them that I was very disappointed, uncomfortable and needed to leave because I had things to do. They kept repeating themselves over and over again. They did offer to redo the nails again but the level of unprofessional shown was astounding and steered me clear. So for summary- don't waste your time or money here. You will regret it. read more

Went here for the first time the other day and I had a great experience! The place is very clean and sanitary. The staff is very sweet. I got a pedicure and boy it was AMAZING! They actually took their time and really scrubbed my nasty feet and got ALL the callous off. They offered free drinks and they aren't too pushy trying to get you to do more services, manicure etc. I had a great experience from beginning to end, my feet are so clean and my toes are beautiful. Been here a couple times and haven't ever had a problem until today. I brought my sister for her birthday as a special girls afternoon treat. After being told that it would be a 5-10'minute wait we chose polish and waited. Half an hour went by and we still weren't in the pedicure chairs. 40 minutes later I asked how much longer. They promptly got chairs ready and seated us. After 20-30 minutes soaking (and with pruny feet) we finally got our pedicures. I have no problem waiting. Went to Quarry nails, not very good....I had a regular pedicure, the gal seemed preoccupied, was watching the tv half the time, did not do a thorough job, smeared polish and didnt seem to see her mistakes...I was totally unimpressed with this place. Also, it seemed disorganized, I had to wait for her to get various things together, was not offered anything to drink, the front desk guys were grungy. Not nice. First time the lady took over two hours to do a simple fill, the second time a different lady did my nails and she glued all my tips on crooked and by the time I noticed it was too late.. I have been to this salon a few times and had some pleasant experiences. Had an amazing mani/pedi here my first time. A few weeks ago, I went in with a picture of a pretty simple manicure design. After waiting 10+ minutes to be greeted I was told to sit down and wait before I could be helped. This wasn't a huge deal, seeing that they were a little busy. The next guest who came in was immediately helped and taken to get her service. At this point I was mildly annoyed, but I still was polite when I asked if I could be helped. They sat me with Ben. He immediately was very rude. I showed him the design I wanted and he acted like he understood what I was asking for. He didn't offer me anything to drink or even attempt small talk. The worst part is, he didn't even do the design that I wanted. I had shown a picture of all solid color acrylic nails aside from the middle fingers chevron and glitter on the ring finger. He completely ignored the chevron even though I specifically pointed out that the picture was EXACTLY what I wanted. When he was done with painting the acrylic nails, (I had asked for colored powder, not paint, but he claimed to not know what I was referring to) he told me to "sit over there and let them dry," before I could even express that the nails were not at all what I had asked for. As I was grabbing my purse which he did not offer to help me carry with my wet nails, I smudged a nail. At this point he was nowhere to be found. He had someone else walk over and drop the 40 dollar ticket in front of me. I then watched him walk into the break room and joke around with other employees before leaving the salon. I was very angry at this point, but he took much longer than normal to finish my nails and I was now late for work. So I paid and left. I called the salon to let them know of my bad experience and to ask if they could fix my nails the next day. All I got in response was "that's fine" then a click of the phone hanging up. I never returned. I don't know if they were just having a bad day, but it was by far the worst experience I've ever had it a nail salon. I will not be returning. read more

took 3 hours for a full set wanted chrome which when i came in they said they could do apparently the lady doing mine didnt know how they ended up doing my nails over 3 times finally another woman pretty much pushed the lady out the chair and took over by that time i couldnt wait any longer so she ended up painting a shellac on them which is not what i wanted on top of all this they cut me on the side of my index finger while filing after everything they still demanded that i paid 55 and i also paid for my mothers so total was 100..... i have never left a nail salon so furious all they gave me was a $25 discount for next visit and that wont be happening so it wont be put to use. I have continued to come to NB Quarry Nails for the last 3 years, every 3-4 weeks. I typically get a fill on my nails, the occasional pedicures, and eye brow wax as well. I have lived in San Marcos, New Braunfels, and now La Vernia; however I continue to make the drive up to their establishment to have them take care of all my nail needs. I will say that occasionally I do get a chip in a nail. However, I go in and explain what happened and they fix it free of charge every time. I am very satisfied with the customer service you receive while there. They treat you people like they deserve to be treated. I will continue to support them even if it means driving an hour to get to them. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would! My sister and I had our nails done here and I was very upset to say the least when I left. I was only going to get my nails done, but then decided to go ahead and have them change the nail color on my toenails to match. That was a huge mistake! I had a design on my big toe and by the time this lady got through it looked like a kid had painted my toe nail. She was nice enough to take the design off and thought it was ok to leave black polish used on the design down in my cuticles. When I said something about how it looked the lady had the nerve to imply my toenails were dirty! Really? Need less to say, they did a horrible job and I would recommend you take my advice and not go to this place. My sister and I got our nails done. When we got there we were greeted and were given a drink right away. When I sat, the technician said dip with no tip on my nails and I said yes no extension. Well she started to look at my nails and added an adhesive tip on my thumb and it felt so weird and told her I didn't want it and she no it's good for you nail. Then she began putting the gel for the dip and at first she did just the tip of my nail and then dipped my nail in the powder. I thought this was really weird and I had never seen this technique before. Then she put gel down the middle part of my nail and then dipped it again. Then she put the gel and did the whole nail. By the time my nails came out of the dip it was lumpy and and uneven. The nail that had the extension was the worst and she kept filing it down hoping it would look better but she made it worse and I kept telling her I didn't like it. She said it is fine your nails are good. Every time I spoke to her, she ignored me and kept doing what she wanted to do. I spoke with the manager and told him I didn't like the way she did my nails. He put me with another lady and she was a lot better and did them how they are supposed to be. Just be mindful with who you get. read more

My friend and I waited thirty minutes to get shellac done on our nails. The end product was bumpy and clumpy on account of the dust particles left after the removal of the previous nail product on our nails. It was difficult trying to communicate with my nail tech which nail shape I wanted. I got frustrated and eventually stopped trying to get her to shape my nails the way I want. I would not recommend going here unless you want to wait a long time, your comments not be heard by your nail tech, and to not be satisfied with the finished result. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Looks can be deceiving!! The salon looks nice and clean but do not be fooled. I have been getting my nails done for the past 8 weeks here. I should have run when the first time I was in the girl next to me complained about having fungus after her previous visit. But I didn't and now I have fungus on 6 out of ten nails!! I have consistently had my nails done for about twenty years. Occasionally it happens by accident to a nail or two. But 6!!! That is from poor sanitation and not making sure the acrylic is properly bonded to the natural nail. I really liked the selection of colors and how well my nails were shaped. But it's not worth sacrificing my health. Read the other bad reviews. They're all true (the attitudes, constantly cutting clients and lack of management). Just stay away. There are a plenty of other nail shops around town. Just try one of them...seriously. read more

They've really gone down hill the last few months, they can't seem to keep employees and they upped there prices along with a 10 service fee charge if you pay with card. The OPEN light was on but I didn't see the hours posted on the the door. but realized they were closing after I walked in. The eagerly welcomed me in and said it was fine and not too late to get a shellac manicure. One of the workers preschool age son came and sat in the chair next to me with his video on as loud as it could go. The girl that did my manicure did it was rushing through and filed my nails very short and cut the skin on two of my fingers. Then when trying to buff my nails she was very rough and filed my fingers and two others started to bleed and she told me she needed to do it like that so they would be smooth. I asked her three times to be more gentle. She did the shellac and I noticed the ends of the nails didn't look as if the color was all the way to the edge and she huffed and put more color on it. When I saw some cotton on my cuticle she actually yelled at me to not touch it because I was going to mess it up. Another moment my cell started to ring so I took my hand out of the light to turn the ringer off and she bit my head off for not keeping my hand in the light. I appreciated them welcoming me in as they were closing but that was the biggest disappointment and I would have rather came back when they had the time and energy to do a better job. read more
