It's such a cute little bar. In terms of West LA bars this is my favorite so far. Their drinks were good and this is a good date place bar - meaning it's not too loud that you can't hear each other, the lighting is dim (no need for that SnapChat filter ;) and it has that intimate feeling. This Craft Liquor Bar is a small, sexy lounge that I have fallen in love with. The cocktails are amazing if you are looking for the highest quality in a craft cocktail. They do live music on (some) Thursday's- maybe call ahead, around 9:30... and the bartenders are always friendly, cordial, and just genuinely nice, with a little edge of course :) I highly recommend this Santa Monica experience, located off Pico Blvd, a couple blocks past Centinella Blvd. open til 12 on weekdays and 2 on weekends- bring your friends in. I'm completely unnerved about my experience at 'neat. '. tonight. I came in tonight and it was completely ridiculous. We saw one of the tequilas on the menu listed at $6,so we decided to get a drink with that tequila. Our bill comes later and completely doesn't add up. My friends bill for 3 of those drinks somehow added up to $39 (before tip)and mine $26(before tip). When we ask the bartender he tells us that "ohh man yeah I need to change the drink menu. It's listed at $6 but standard drinks we just pour at a double " what!?' Why would it not denote that on the menu!?! And also why is mine $10 less than my friends. He said "oh I guess you got lucky. I forgot to charge you for one. " What?!? Just ridiculous. Wow. read more

We came here for a drink after having horrible sushi so found this nearby place on yelp. There were no parking except street parking and it was very hard to find on Pico. This place is nice and dark. Has a nice bar with a variety of drinks. The vibe was more a neighborhood water hole with people age 25-45ish. It was loud and very young to me so we had one drink and left. It is more for a certain type of people but it was not my cup of tea. read more

Great cocktail bar with amazing prices for West LA! My friend was in town from STL and we wanted to find a place with good drinks, not crowded, and not too loud. Neat was it! I loved their mixology and the bartenders were super friendly. One even let us try something off the menu for free for R&D. There was a band setting up as we left which would have probably ruined our ability to talk, but while we were there, it was great. I'd definitely come back provided no live band. read more

My first thought upon opening the door, "Oh hell yeah, I think I just found my new spot." The feel of this bar is the quintessential 'after-work' stop or place to catch up with friends over a (few) drinks. It has lounge booths that aren't dilapidated or gross looking, the bar stools are some of the most chic and comfortable I've ever sat on, and everything is clean and visually appealing! The menu of whiskey, scotch, bourbon, mescal, and tequila (I think there were more options but I don't remember) was pages long and offered varieties I rarely see. It's truly a place to try out fine spirits that you wouldn't try elsewhere or to have a tasting of the spirits guided by the fantastic and knowledgeable bartenders. I ended up falling in love with one of their whiskeys, as recommended between several other choices I was considering, and now cannot wait to return to try more. I cannot say enough about the quality of service and appeal of this bar. Be aware that they do not have food but eat beforehand or after and still make this spot a destination site. Also, though they do have a small wine selection, I recommend sticking to cocktails or hard alcohol to let the expertise of the bartenders shine and to get a true experience of their list of top-notch, hard to find elsewhere, spirit selection. read more

Very helpful with suggestions. Had the Buxom duck which is vodka based, I asked for A NON sweet drink & this was delicious, haD some tartness & a kick from the jalapeno. I also asked for his suggestion as I wanted St. Germaine and he made it Gin based with cucumber as so refreshing. My friends also loved their drinks. They are boozy, not watered down with ice and a perfect balance of each mix. They have HH daily 5-8 which is $2 off cocktails & $1 off the beer. The cocktails avg around $10-12. They also have huge selections of Bourbons, Whiskey, Scotch & Tequila or Mezcal. No food, just peanuts. I believe they also have live band later in the night. This bar is *fantastic* specifically if you are interested in mescal, whiskey, or other spirits and want to find something new that's unique, better, cheaper, and sometimes all 3. I've been twice, the first time for happy hour - prices are good, about $9-11 for nice cocktails, great quality, super nice bartender. Second time, the owner was there on a Thursday night when we went in just past happy hour. He made suggestions based on our interests and helped us sample and select a few. It was extremely educational and I'm really excited to go back! The place was quiet enough to have a conversation and also had some interesting music going on. Although I loved Liquid Kitty, the new layout is totally clean and fresh. You can safely have a first date here. read more

It's not overly crowded, and there are different seating options depending on the size of your group. I miss the ambiance of Liquid Kitty. This location no longer feels special, but it's not a bad place to swing by. Bartenders are knowledgeable but they charge by the ounce. So your bill can be 1.5 to double what the menu says without them giving you a heads up. That's a bit shady in my opinion. Their pour costs (profit margins) are ok for the westside but to not disclose their charges is probably why the customers with negative reviews feel ripped off. read more

This place has become my go-to bar. The bartenders are really knowledgeable and take great care in crafting their cocktails. I was a bourbon drinker before but they introduced me to Japanese whisky and totally rocked my world. The best part is, the prices are super reasonable for what you get. This is easily my favorite cocktail bar in west LA. The cocktails are the best part. If you look for places with solid craft cocktails, you have to stop in. I would recommend trying something on their menu but on the off chance you can't find anything, they will gladly make something just as good using flavor profiles you like. The bartender, although probably good at what he does with whiskey, was rude to me when I asked what kind of vodka they had. There was only one person at the bar other than me and a friend, so I know he wasn't too busy to answer that question. I asked because the price differentials were extreme among the only three selections they had. He couldn't describe any of the three completely obscure selections of vodka to me. He was visibly annoyed and said, "Listen, this is a whiskey bar," when I asked from what were the vodkas made. Oh, and then we went to a table and it was really light, remarkably wobbly and was kind of perched on a step. We were conscious the whole time about the possibility of our drinks spilling. We could have moved to the bar, but we didn't want to sit with the bartender. In summary: 1) Don't be disrespectful to customers regardless of what they order. 2) I totally get it is a whiskey bar, but not all people who wander into the old Liquid Kitty space are solely going to order whiskey. 3) There are 3 available vodkas; know what they are since the price differentials are so extreme. read more

A wide variety of tasty mezquals is a strong start. Comfortable seating. Very friendly staff. Place was a little chilly--they understandably wanted to keep the door open, but there weren't a ton of people there when I went and it was a relatively cold night. Only one major misstep imho: they have a whole bunch of empty picture frames hanging horizontally/parallel the ceiling. Take aesthetics out of it. Even though I wasn't crazy about the look, that's subjective. What isn't is that all those frames would likely be a serious hazard in an earthquake. Even if that's paranoid--even if the frames are all securely anchored to the ceiling--that wouldn't stop me from being a little ill at ease sitting underneath them. Not exactly the vibe I'm looking for when I go for a drink. read more

This place used to be the Liquid Kitty. It's much brighter inside which is a plus. I came here after one evening for drinks and met some friends. Little did we know they were having a speed dating event. It was great entertainment. They have a good whiskey selection but the prices are steep for a 1oz shot. Another super cool bar - The Liquid Kitty - distorted by gentrification. Not much change to the interior but now 11$ beers and uncomfortable seating.
