The cakes looked gorgeous but we were traveling so had to pass sadly. Sweet and savory are both fantastic. Don't pass up the sandwich rolls for taking home. They are so good! I didn't think I would ever say that about GF sandwich rolls (IYKYK) but these are real bread! We don't live n the area so stocked up to freeze when we got home. From the ambiance, to the customer service, everything was perfect. You can't tell that any of their baked treats are gluten free-- and I mean that wholeheartedly. Oh man...where to start. This is such a beautiful family with an incredible story of starting in the tiny kitchen of their apartment and selling at farmer's markets and distributing to local stores. I'm not Gluten Intolerant...but I happily devour Nece's baked goods because they are incredible. The chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles and cinnamon rolls...OMG THE CINNAMON ROLLS! ...they are just sooooo good! And now they have their own location! I got a double espresso that grew some hair on my chest. And a poppy seed muffin that left me wanting more and more...i also got a whole chocolate cake! A very cute bakery with food that tastes even better then it looks. We had tasty waffles, which where crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The lemon drizzle scone was crumbly delicious. We also had a blueberry muffin and the chocolate chip pumpkin spice muffin and both where fall apart in you mouth delicious. Oh, with this we also had the tea, which was also really good and they even refilled the little tea pots halfway through. We devoured a chocolate mini cake there too, which was as beautiful and tasted Divine. Excellent food, friendly service. Will be back. Amazing goodies!!! My husband and I stopped here twice on our 3 day recent trip to the Monterey Peninsula. Their sconewiches are to die for! Make sure you get the fried cheese! Yumm! I've tried their lemon poppyseed muffin, a sconewich, shortbread, cinnamon roll, and blueberry scone. They're all divine and are better than pastries with gluten. The coffee is amazing too! Sharquay is amazing. I have health issues that cause me to be gluten intolerant, and my family and I have enjoyed her special-order made cakes for birthdays and holidays! The daily assortment of baked goods are also incredible, you'd never know you're eating something gluten free. The flavors and textures are always on point. Love this place! I've actually never been in myself - my partner stops by periodically and brings me treats from Nece's. :) I've tried the cookies and scones, and they're both delicious. There was another GF bakery in this same location before Nece's came in, and the cookies there were super dry and stale - Nece's cookies are soft and tasty, and the scones are doughy and dense. It's also the only dedicated gluten free restaurant/ cafe/ bakery in the whole county that I'm aware of, so as a celiac, I'm so grateful to live nearby! read more
