Oof I hate to say this, we generally come here a few times a month and service is always good. The people are so nice. But we've noticed the food is inconsistent and on a decline. Tonight we ordered wings, salads, and a pizza. The wings were very rubbery and seemed undercooked. We didn't feel comfortable finishing them because we were scared they were raw inside. Then came the salads. One had one bad piece of lettuce which was no big deal. But the other was filled with wilted disintegrating pieces of dark brown slimy lettuce. We are not the type to say anything but after the chicken we spoke up and our server was very nice and removed the salad from our order. The pizza was also undercooked... We really hope more attention can be put towards the quality of the food since the people and location are great and Bastrop has limited options. read more

This place is amazing!!!!!! Everything from calzones to the pizza. I've been here three times and they have never disappointed. The pizza is consistent, fresh, and super tasty. I can't just pick one off the menu because pizza on the menu is top notch. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!! The staff is great, super friendly and welcoming. Looking for a place to have dinner on a business trip, I found this place on yelp! We drove over there and loved the location. Looked like an old county town by a river surrounded by trees. They have a nice selection of craft beer ! We ordered a large pizza half Camino real and the other half grease bucket! Delicious. I forgot to ask for extra sauce but the pizza was tasty ! Very Friendly staff and great view of the Colorado river ! Definitely recommend if you want great pizza and cold beer ! read more

I've been to neighbors for years and wanted to pick up a pizza during this quarantine, I was happy with the organization of their pickup service but the pizza is unacceptable. I wish I would have checked it before I left Bastrop and arrived to Austin with a pizza with SCORCHED bacon. I seriously can't believe someone burnt the bacon so terribly beyond recognition, and yet still put it on top of our pizza. Won't return. Don't bother. read more

It's a cool place! We needed to make a pit stop on way to Austin, and we both were craving for some pizza and decided to check this place out. We sure r glad we did! We got pizzas, and they are the bomb! The atmosphere is FUN. On the river, beautiful view, and a lot of music going on. We want to come back one day to hang out at this place. HOWEVER it got 4 stars because the waiters suck.... it took FOREVER for them to check on us, to order food, to get our food, to get our water refilled.. My husband surprised me with a quick getaway to Bastrop for our 1-year anniversary. We came to Neighbor's Kitchen & Yard for dinner and loved the entire experience. We waited a little longer for outdoor seating because it was a beautiful night. We had to bring our 9-month old daughter with us, and after telling our waiter Josh that I didn't need the extra glass of water with my cocktail because it would take up too much space and I didn't want my daughter to knock it over, he made sure to keep the table cleared as the dinner went on, kept things out of her reach, and constantly checked on us to make sure we were enjoying everything. He was friendly, understanding, accommodating, and interacted with our daughter. He looked young and we were pleasantly surprised by his maturity, attention to detail, and knowledge of the menu. Aside from the phenomenal service from Josh, the food was DELICIOUS! We ordered the Comeback Dip and Texas Bruschetta and Neighbor's Tea for cocktails. For entrees my husband ordered the Grease bucket and I had the chicken pesto pizza. I modified my pizza to be exactly how I wanted it, and it was perfect. Gone Down Hill. I had hoped that they would have many outdoor music happenings, but they only seem to happen a few times per year. Poo! The pizza has no cheese on it to speak of and all their food items seem to be less and less appealing. A calzone that used to have tons of yummy meats and cheese in it, just is simply pizza dough these days. Even the pizza sauce has changed into a gloopy kind of paste with little to no flavor. My wife and I stopped in for dinner last Tuesday at almost sunset. We weren't very sure about the place as we parked and didn't see it right away, it tucked in around some old houses that have been converted into businesses. We walked in and asked if we could sit outside, boy what a view of the Colorado River! We ordered three slices of pizza, part of the Tuesday $2 slices and a large Ceasar Salad. Come for the pizza which is decent but stay for the craft beer and atmosphere. This place has an amazing ambiance about it and boasts a large outdoor area. The beer was chocked full of selections and I can highly recommend getting a 4-flight at a decent price. I was expecting one dark beer to be on the menu but there were four to choose from. Thankful I picked this place to eat. Only downside was the pizza is a bit droopy but still good. read more

The view! I've never been in downtown Bastrop before so when my friend wanted to have a lunch date with our girls, I was so ready to make that drive! This place is in the alleyway, next to Main St. I had trouble finding it b/c I'm so unfamiliar with the area! I had to park and then walk around to find it. Then I saw the parking spots in front. Whoops. It was a nice afternoon and they were too busy yet so we sat outside with a great view of the Colorado River. This allowed my 3yo to run around a bit and check out people going into the river. We ordered garlic knots, pepperoni rolls, meatballs and a salad. The garlic knot were okay. I saw some reviews that said they were good but they were not garlicky enough for me. The pepperoni rolls were REALLY good. It was full of cheese and pepperoni. The meatballs were alright. My salad was ehh also. I would come back here for the view and some casual pizza time. Or maybe after exploring the river. Yay for Calzone, and for no charge) and my wife got the current special, the Brooklynite. For an appetizer, we got the Comeback Dip, and let me tell you, the name is on point because it is worth coming back for. We were just visiting Bastrop for the first time for a day trip, and wound up loving the atmosphere of the downtown area, so when we do come back, this place will be on the itinerary. Despite the lifting of the mask mandate for the state and other Covid precautions, they still abide by it for the safety of everyone their. We went at night, the stage down by the water for the live music looked really nice, and when we stopped by the next morning we could see the view of The Colorado, it was very nice. Last thing, they serve local craft beers made right next door. I had the Geometric Rye-No and I enjoyed it, despite it being a pale ale, which I generally don't like. Great local place with fantastic atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. We always sit on the patio which offers a beautiful view of the park (they have live music there often too, but we haven't been for that.) The waitstaff has always been very friendly but we have had a few cases where they were slow (normally it takes a while for them to come to the table initially and then bring drinks.) We love the pizza by the slice option which they serve all day and the Moonshine Margarita drink in particular. I also want to mention that they seem proud of their homemade meatballs, but when we ordered them as an appetizer once they were very firm and dry. I don't know if this was just a bad an unusual experience, but it's what we had once and I haven't ordered them again. read more

Loved this place inside and out! Our salads were fresh and light. We had a personal size grease bucket pizza and chicken pesto. Both delicious. Love the thin crust. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. Husband had a couple of IPA's on tap which he really liked. All day IPA and Zombie Dragon. My watermelon cucumber infused vodka drink was sooo refreshing! Our waitress did seem a bit overwhelmed so the service was slow but we didn't mind since we were listening to music. Neighbors used to be awesome. Not sure what happened lately but everything has gone down hill. Service is mediocre, orders are mistaken, and half the time the food comes out burnt. This most recent visit, it took over an hour until the food came out. Even for a "busy" day, the wait for basic pizza and salad shouldn't take an hour. Especially salad. I arrived into Bastrop a bit late due to person I was waiting for doesnt' seem to own a watch so I was already hangry but the food and drinks here helped cure it lol.
